The building looks awesome on the inside. Really cool decor, and PLENTY of TVs so a great place to watch a game. From the outside you would expect a firehouse theme but nothing on the inside indicates that. The staff is very friendly and our service was really fast. Had dinner on the second story balcony. Great view from up there!! I started with an IPA from New Belgium. I took a chance and ordered the seared ahi tuna appetizer. It was excellent! I would suggest telling the server if you want your burger prepared less than medium well. The burgers are very good but they come out medium well/well done unless you specify. I was sad when they got rid of the wedge salad but still brought the family in once a week for dinner. My husband is a type 1 diabetic and always gets no bun with his burger (no discount of course) and was able to substitute his fries for veggies. All was good until they started charging $3 for veggies (like green beans and cheap broccoli and carrot mix.) No way! They started up charging once Tavern on Main opened. $3 for roasted Brussel sprouts are ok because the potion is good and the veggie is more expensive. $3 for frozen bagged veggies are not. Thank you for not allowing people with dietary needs to eat at your establishment. My family of 5 will not return. read more

What's happened to Station 21? I don't live in Crown Point, so we don't visit regularly. We did come back once every few months just for the fish and chips and I do have a review singing its praises. Something's changed, though. The last two times we were there (this past Saturday was one of those times) it wasn't the same. They don't have the Ruben any more (husband was sad about that), fish and chips aren't the same- not crispy, and you get 2 instead of 3. Coleslaw recipe is changed a bit too. We won't make the drive any more to visit. I wonder if they've changed cooks or recipes or something. read more

I was sat by a charming woman, who would be the highlight of my time there. I ordered the pulled pork and onion rings as a side. The amount of meat was shockingly small for the bun size and it tasted like off the shelf BBQ sauce, but it cost me almost $10. I was also charged a substitution fee but was never told that, just saw it on my bill. Didnt see it on the menu, wasn't told by waitress. Top this with a waitress who didn't seem to want to be there, never checked in during my meal, but was quick to collect the check at the end. I would not recommend nor come back. read more

Great place to watch a game at the bar, or dine outside on the second story balcony. The first time I came to 21 we sat upstairs, outside. Very nice. The fish & chips were lightly battered and very fresh. The only thing lacking was the size of my drink on the rocks. It was smaller than a usual rocks glass. small price to pay for the experience. The second time we went, we sat inside upstairs. Nice big booths and large tv over the bar. Not to mention, the booths have their own tv's - nice touch. 5-alarm burger was delicious - finally a burger that is actually hot. Gumballhead on tap was a perfect accompaniment. I would have given 5 stars but for one the rocks glass was too small and our first server in the bar area wasnt old enough to serve alcohol eventually having to give us to another server. Love this place. My fiancé and I go here often. Talked one night with owner and he could not have been nicer. My fiancé sister and her boyfriend went here on a separate occasion and said they loved it and would definitely be back. A+++ Food is very good. We really wanted this place to be good, it wasn't...... Mac & Cheese lacked seasoning. The Ruben was soggy. The Prime Rib sandwich also lacked seasoning and the bun was just plain blah, kinda tasteless. The fries that came with sandwich were cold and kind of tough which seemed odd. That said, we ate it, we were hungry. Rule of thumb is if you are going to have your kitchen window exposed to the diners you better bring it! They didn't. I bore witness to lots of plates sitting in the window, waitresses picking at the plates trying to figure out if it was theirs, waitresses dumping fries into a bowl that sat in window (hopeful that they went in the garbage), and what seemed to be a somewhat unorganized mess. Maybe it was just an off night. The first thing I saw when we sat down was bartender picking glasses of beer up by the rim of glass! It's my pet peeve and soooooo unsanitary that I considered drinking out of the bottle. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. Went in for lunch and the server go a party of 10 after we ordered and completely forgot about us. No drink refills, no offers or asking if everything was ok. Then we had to flag manager down and all she offered was to process our payment. Terrible manager/customer service. Once I complained that the least she could have done was give us a discount she offered a gift card. No thanks youngster, we wont be back. Dont waste your hard earned money. Very impressed with the whole experience. We sat at the bar and our sever was super awesome. We had the mozzarella sticks and calamari for appetizers. The moz sticks were good, nothing too exciting. The calamari was fan-fricken-tastic. Not rubbery and the sauce was to die for. Drinks were were made and great price. The dirty martini was the best I have ever had. We each had a burger, mine was the special of the day- pineapple fusion, and he had a mushroom swiss. Massive and juicy. Fries were well seasoned with finishing salt, a very nice touch. I've been here twice and to be honest, my first experience was very good. We had great service and the food was delicious. The second visit was quite disappointing. The parking situation is a mess. We weren't acknowledged when we walked in. I had to ask the host if she would take my name down. The wait wasn't bad at all. Once seated, we were greeted by a friendly server who was later found to be not very available. For the 1 hour and 45 minutes we were there, we saw her three times to include taking the order, bringing our beverages and bringing the bill. It took a ridiculous amount of time to serve us grilled chicken and Mac n cheese as we watched people around us being served in a very speedy fashion. I decided to go with the Mac n cheese with pulled pork as the first time I got it, it was amazing. All I can say is inconsistent! This time it was lacking flavor and there was literally a few pieces of dry, pulled pork in it and that's being generous in my description. We had to stop another server for a refill and to ask for the bill as we waited and waited and waited. Needless to say, I will not be returning nor will I recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

My husband and I were on our way back home from a tournament in Milwaukee, and found this little gem. The service was fantastic (manager even stopped by our table twice to check on us), the food options were plentiful (and very tasty!), and the place was nice, new and clean, not your typical smokey sports bar. They have a large menu that includes things like a strawberry and spinach salad, yellowfin tuna tacos, tasty burgers, lots of sandwich and pasta items, etc. Great options for the kiddos too! Definitely be coming back through here on our frequent trips to the Chicago area. This place is awesome. I used to live in Crown Point and went there a few times a month. The food is good and they have great martinis. The best one is the Salted Carmel Martini. Not to be copied anywhere else as no one makes it like they do. A very busy place, especially on weekends. Definitely a sports bar atmosphere but you can feel comfortable seated downstairs with family including the kids. Upstairs is more of a bar atmosphere. Very fun and friendly place to go. read more
