I cannot believe this place has any good reviews. Not to knock my fellow Yelpers, but do you people not ever go out to other restaurants in the NWI area? This place is absolutely terrible. I would probably give it 1.5 stars, but put it at 1 because this was my 2nd terrible experience. I went the first time about 2 years ago with my kids and remember my children & I not liking the food (I think they had mac & cheese) and the service was bad on the main floor. Well, my girlfriend was told by her friend that this place is really good now (thanks Juju, not!!!) so we decided to go today for lunch. Sat upstairs, were waited on quickly, appetizer of calamari came and the flavors were good with the giardiniera and Sriracha, but the calamari was very rubbery with a couple of pieces that were inedible. Ok, waited a good 15 minutes for the main course with our soda glasses empty and our dirty dishes waiting to be taken. Good thing we didn't sit on the patio, as 1 table had to come in and order at the bar because their waitress was M.I.A. I received my sandwich which was supposed to have seared, rare tuna on it. It was cooked just about all the way through which made it extremely dry. Not a lot of it so the sandwich was basically an avocado sandwich with dry tuna. The fries were cold & hard. How can you f up fries, c'mon man! My lady had the spinach salad and she said it was ok, but lacked any flavor. So, let me re-cap, crappy food, crappy service, and a friend that I will no longer trust to give me restaurant recommendations. read more

Here's a tip - when it's sweltering hot outside, turn on the air conditioning. There was plenty to not like on my trip to Station 21, but by far the lack of AC on a 100 degree day is most disconcerting. When I asked the server what the deal was, she just roller her eyes and said "There's nothing I can do. Sorry!" This means either A) The A/C is busted or B) The owner/manager of the place is looking to save a buck by keeping the A/C on 79 degrees. The food? Not very good. How do you mess up a well done cheeseburger? Cold french fries? Really? These are basics and should be prepared correctly. The salad was lettuce - and not much more. Would it kill you to put a couple of olives or something in it? One ring of onion for a cheeseburger is unacceptable. The atmosphere? The only positive I have about this place is that the decor is modern and looks good. Without a comfortable temperature, though, it's impossible to get settled in. Do you know what it's like sitting in a leather booth when the ambient temperature is north of 85 degrees? Swamp-ass city. The service? Not bad, but when your waitress is sweating bullets (there were beads of sweat rolling down her arm) you kind of feel, well, gross. This person will be handling your food, you DO NOT want a big drop of sweat topping your chopped salad. I actually felt sorry for this poor girl. The price? Way too much for what you get, but not overly expensive. The bottom line? Could be a great place based on location and decor, but as it stands I would highly recommend Station 21 for a spot on "Restaurant Impossible." Perhaps Robert Irvine could straighten it out. read more

WAITRESS FLIPPED US OFF! Had the worst experience in my 49 years in Crown Point, made us wait when they had available seats and after 5 minutes gave the open booth to a family of 3 also that just walked in (no reservations). When I yelled about it the manager said she didn't need to hear it spoken like that and then the young waitress standing behind the manager FLIPPED US OFF (In my wife & 15 year old daughters face!) I always wondered why they chose the number 21. Now I know why... You have precisely 21 minutes to get to a bathroom after eating here, or you might just poop yourself. Otherwise, the food is good, but a tad over priced. Service is average, but the place looks amazing. Everyone is friendly and eating on the balcony is quite nice too. I was sad when they got rid of the wedge salad but still brought the family in once a week for dinner. My husband is a type 1 diabetic and always gets no bun with his burger (no discount of course) and was able to substitute his fries for veggies. All was good until they started charging $3 for veggies (like green beans and cheap broccoli and carrot mix.) No way! They started up charging once Tavern on Main opened. $3 for roasted Brussel sprouts are ok because the potion is good and the veggie is more expensive. $3 for frozen bagged veggies are not. Thank you for not allowing people with dietary needs to eat at your establishment. My family of 5 will not return. read more

The building looks awesome on the inside. Really cool decor, and PLENTY of TVs so a great place to watch a game. From the outside you would expect a firehouse theme but nothing on the inside indicates that. The staff is very friendly and our service was really fast. The food is just okay but not overpriced so can't really complain. My wife loved her veggie macaroni & cheese. read more

Had dinner on the second story balcony. Great view from up there!! I started with an IPA from New Belgium. I took a chance and ordered the seared ahi tuna appetizer. It was excellent! I would suggest telling the server if you want your burger prepared less than medium well. The burgers are very good but they come out medium well/well done unless you specify. What's happened to Station 21? I don't live in Crown Point, so we don't visit regularly. We did come back once every few months just for the fish and chips and I do have a review singing its praises. Something's changed, though. The last two times we were there (this past Saturday was one of those times) it wasn't the same. They don't have the Ruben any more (husband was sad about that), fish and chips aren't the same- not crispy, and you get 2 instead of 3. Coleslaw recipe is changed a bit too. We won't make the drive any more to visit. I wonder if they've changed cooks or recipes or something. read more

I was sat by a charming woman, who would be the highlight of my time there. I ordered the pulled pork and onion rings as a side. The amount of meat was shockingly small for the bun size and it tasted like off the shelf BBQ sauce, but it cost me almost $10. I was also charged a substitution fee but was never told that, just saw it on my bill. Didnt see it on the menu, wasn't told by waitress. Top this with a waitress who didn't seem to want to be there, never checked in during my meal, but was quick to collect the check at the end. I would not recommend nor come back. read more

Waitress was a bit ditzy! Didn't even realize till we brought it to her attention that we had the wrong food!!! Fried pickles were way to greasy and they shrank and shriveled in the cooking process. Not impressed at all! read more

Overall I'm really impressed with Station 21. Staff are friendly, food is great, and drinks are tasty. The rooftop patio in the summer is really nice, too. Menu is typical bar food with a few nicer options here and there. They also have a really great cocktail menu. I highly recommend! read more

Great place to watch a game at the bar, or dine outside on the second story balcony. The first time I came to 21 we sat upstairs, outside. Very nice. The fish & chips were lightly battered and very fresh. The only thing lacking was the size of my drink on the rocks. It was smaller than a usual rocks glass. small price to pay for the experience. The second time we went, we sat inside upstairs. Nice big booths and large tv over the bar. Not to mention, the booths have their own tv's - nice touch. 5-alarm burger was delicious - finally a burger that is actually hot. Gumballhead on tap was a perfect accompaniment. I would have given 5 stars but for one the rocks glass was too small and our first server in the bar area wasnt old enough to serve alcohol eventually having to give us to another server. If I could give them no stars I would. Went in for lunch and the server go a party of 10 after we ordered and completely forgot about us. No drink refills, no offers or asking if everything was ok. Then we had to flag manager down and all she offered was to process our payment. Terrible manager/customer service. Once I complained that the least she could have done was give us a discount she offered a gift card. No thanks youngster, we wont be back. Dont waste your hard earned money. Very impressed with the whole experience. We sat at the bar and our sever was super awesome. We had the mozzarella sticks and calamari for appetizers. The moz sticks were good, nothing too exciting. The calamari was fan-fricken-tastic. Not rubbery and the sauce was to die for. Drinks were were made and great price. The dirty martini was the best I have ever had. We each had a burger, mine was the special of the day- pineapple fusion, and he had a mushroom swiss. Massive and juicy. Fries were well seasoned with finishing salt, a very nice touch. We really wanted this place to be good, it wasn't...... Mac & Cheese lacked seasoning. The Ruben was soggy. The Prime Rib sandwich also lacked seasoning and the bun was just plain blah, kinda tasteless. The fries that came with sandwich were cold and kind of tough which seemed odd. That said, we ate it, we were hungry. Rule of thumb is if you are going to have your kitchen window exposed to the diners you better bring it! They didn't. I bore witness to lots of plates sitting in the window, waitresses picking at the plates trying to figure out if it was theirs, waitresses dumping fries into a bowl that sat in window (hopeful that they went in the garbage), and what seemed to be a somewhat unorganized mess. Maybe it was just an off night. The first thing I saw when we sat down was bartender picking glasses of beer up by the rim of glass! It's my pet peeve and soooooo unsanitary that I considered drinking out of the bottle. read more

I've been here twice and to be honest, my first experience was very good. We had great service and the food was delicious. The second visit was quite disappointing. The parking situation is a mess. We weren't acknowledged when we walked in. I had to ask the host if she would take my name down. The wait wasn't bad at all. Once seated, we were greeted by a friendly server who was later found to be not very available. For the 1 hour and 45 minutes we were there, we saw her three times to include taking the order, bringing our beverages and bringing the bill. It took a ridiculous amount of time to serve us grilled chicken and Mac n cheese as we watched people around us being served in a very speedy fashion. I decided to go with the Mac n cheese with pulled pork as the first time I got it, it was amazing. All I can say is inconsistent! This time it was lacking flavor and there was literally a few pieces of dry, pulled pork in it and that's being generous in my description. We had to stop another server for a refill and to ask for the bill as we waited and waited and waited. Needless to say, I will not be returning nor will I recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

Love this place. My fiancé and I go here often. Talked one night with owner and he could not have been nicer. My fiancé sister and her boyfriend went here on a separate occasion and said they loved it and would definitely be back. A+++ Food is very good. Bar has a wide variety and they have Skinny Girl drinks - Bonus. Family dining downstairs, full bar upstairs with a lot of TV screens and some dining. Outside patio is great during the summer. read more

This place is awesome. I used to live in Crown Point and went there a few times a month. The food is good and they have great martinis. The best one is the Salted Carmel Martini. Not to be copied anywhere else as no one makes it like they do. A very busy place, especially on weekends. Definitely a sports bar atmosphere but you can feel comfortable seated downstairs with family including the kids. Upstairs is more of a bar atmosphere. Very fun and friendly place to go. read more

My husband and I were on our way back home from a tournament in Milwaukee, and found this little gem. The service was fantastic (manager even stopped by our table twice to check on us), the food options were plentiful (and very tasty!), and the place was nice, new and clean, not your typical smokey sports bar. They have a large menu that includes things like a strawberry and spinach salad, yellowfin tuna tacos, tasty burgers, lots of sandwich and pasta items, etc. Great options for the kiddos too! Definitely be coming back through here on our frequent trips to the Chicago area. Note: it's a couple miles off the interstate... but definitely worth the few extra miles to pass up the fast food options alongside the freeway. read more
