While visiting Provo we took a chance with some mixed YELP reviews. Gamble paid off. Service was good, ambiance good with the best collection of chairs that you will ever find outside a las Angeles swap meet. Food was great. Chicken and waffles were amazing. Memphis chicken sandwich was well worth it. Bread putting was below average while the s'more was well revived by my kids. We saw this place open up where the old Maestro gelato place was and had to check it out. My fiance got the Italian Stallion sandwich and I got the Roast Beef with horseradish. Both of the sandwiches were amazing. They were the perfect size and left us feeling perfectly full without wanting to empty our esophagus from horrendous amounts of food. We also got a cup of the Carrot Ginger soup and both of us were quite impressed. It was creamy with lots of delicious flavor, although it was perhaps a touch light on the ginger. Overall, this is a great new addition to a downtown that is dead and needing some new locally owned small businesses to bring life back to an area owned by pawn shops, cheap bars, and large multi-level marketing companies in hideous glass buildings. I debated giving this restaurant 4 stars but there were a few aspect of my visit I couldn't over look. First the food: I have been there twice and I've really enjoyed the food. I like flavor of the meats and sauces. I tried samples from the rest of the party I went with and I didn't taste any main dish I didn't thoroughly enjoy. I did have a pear spice soup that I thought was bad, but it is probably just not my preference. Atmosphere: Wonderful ambiance, with a cool old american/mildly western feel. I loved the old player piano music rolls on the walls and the light shades. Overall the place feels cozy and it's easy enjoy your company. It's in a great downtown location Service: Pleasant, but definitely under staffed. They knew the menu fine, but not great. They forgot one of the orders for someone in my party and it ended up coming when we were all ready to go. It turned out okay, because they comped the meal and gave us extra fries, and the serving sizes were big enough to share a little, but it's still frustrating. A restaurant should have enough workers on a Saturday night. Prices: Expensive for lunch but very reasonable for dinner. Other: They need a double door badly! The restaurant is long and narrow and whenever the front door was opened it would send a gust of freezing cold air down my back. This was a problem for me all night and was a horrible distraction. This is just a seasonal issue, but I probably won't go back for dinner in the winter. Overall: I'll visit Station 22 again. Good parking, good food, great location. I kept hearing good things about Station 22 back in the day, so I decided to go there with my girlfriend arbitrarily one night. (This was before I read reviews on how Station 22 no longer resembles its former self). PROS: The decor was nice and unobtrusive. CONS: Staff is incredibly apathetic and slow working. Fries tasted like they were taken right out of the frozen section at a grocery store. The sandwich I tried was a brie cheese, apple and chicken sandwich. It sounded interesting on paper but the reality was bleak and soggy. The cheese completely overwhelmed the chicken and the apple provided too much of a sweet taste to the whole equation. The bread was also soggy within seconds. Scrap most of the menu. Stick with the standards. Get better ingredients, and maybe I'll try again. read more

I've eaten at Station 22 many times since it's opening, and I'm never disappointed. They have a neat soda wall in the back that you can look at, as well as a unique waiting area. My food recommendation: Whiskey Chicken Hush Puppies Chicken and Waffles Pros: Great wait staff Food always comes out hot and delicious Con: Parking is limited, and center street can be tricky to maneuver. Station 22 was good, a solid 4-4.5 stars. Service was great, everything was clean, we were seated and served quickly. My wife and I shared some poutine. The poutine tasted great, it wasn't completely authentic but tasted great. My wife then had the chicken and waffles and I had the whiskey chicken. Both were really good but neither dishes knocked our socks off. The chicken is really good, I liked the whiskey sauce on it. My wife also enjoyed the chicken but felt the waffle was lacking a little. This place is so underrated...everything we tasted was seriously delicious! The biscuits were heavenly and our entrees (whiskey chicken & chicken and dumplings) were filled with culinary comfort food dreams! The brussels sprouts were perfect and they even brought me their favorite soda on the house! Such a yummy night- -so glad we gave Station 22 a shot! I have to concur with the other 5-star voters here. I had a really great experience at this place. Came out to visit some friends who suggested we check it out and it was well worth the visit. In fact I went back there several times throughout my week long stay in Provo! First off - the space is really cool. An old converted brickhouse firestation or something. High ceilings, exposed brick, cool artwork on the walls - very nice. Parking super easy and great downtown location. Onto the food: I thought it was great. My first day had the turkey club which was delicious - and a generous portion of yummy fries, too. Another visit I had the crispy tacos - again very well done. And on my third I had the famous chicken sliders - awesome! Love the cole slaw! Oh, and I did mention a hot brownie dessert?? Soooo good! What impressed me was not only the quality of the food but the variety. Sure, they may not have a hundred things on the menu like some people here suggested, but I'd rather have fewer things done really well than a hundred things done half-assed. And they did all these dishes serious justice. Service: Super friendly folks and done with a smile - no complaints! I think Station 22 is a very high quality restaurant. I've eaten there multiple times and I haven't been let down once. I've eaten the falafel sandwich, the vegetarian and multiple others. The ingredients are fresh, taste delicious and don't leave you feeling anything but wonderful afterward. I think being in Provo people tend to be cheaper and more prone to complain about price. But I think Station 22 delivers very high quality food for a very fair price. I'm really glad we've got a place like this here in the downtown section of Provo. read more

We went to check out Station 22 because we'd heard some buzz about the chicken and waffles. Since someone else in my group was getting that I decided to get the pig and apple. It's not too often that I'm genuinely disappointed in my food, but this time I was. The pork was bland and flavorless, the apple was an entire, whole apple with some syrup poured on it that was nearly impossible to eat. The grits were overcooked and the portion was rather small. All in all, a complete waste of money. My wife's memphis chicken sandwich was quite tasty - a nice blend of spice and sweet. Her side salad was a small clump of lettuce and two rings of onions. She thought it was a waste. The sweet potato wedges were good. She'd order that next time. The chicken and waffles were okay - the pecan syrup was fantastic but one waffle and a small piece of chicken was a bit underwhelming. The music was too loud and rather bizarre. They're trying hard to create a fun atmosphere and they do a decent job but change the music and turn it down. I'd like to hear the people I'm sitting with. Overall we spent $24 for two. Wow, what a disappointment! I'd heard this place was good so finally decided to give it a try. A friend and I went for lunch today. They have good fries, but that was the only thing we liked. The salmon was covered in a hard, dense 1/3" thick coating. The slaw was just purple lettuce with very little flavor. Big fail, especially for $15. My friend got the shrimp & grits. It was inedible. Picture grits patties with a shrimp atop each, then all that and the whole plate covered in a sauce that tastes as tho it were made from 1/2 cup paprika and a cup of water - period. So disgusting. Our waitress finally came to ask how we liked our meal and since my friend couldn't eat hers the waitress finally asked if she could get her something else. Friend got a side of mac & cheese, one of their signature dishes. I've never tasted anything more bland. That was left uneaten, too. And service was bad. The place wasn't full during this lunch hour, but it took 30 minutes to get our food, and another 20 for the side of mac & cheese. I had high hopes for this place. I got just the honest Abe burger. I took it to go because I was running late. Service was mediocre. I had to wait 5 min before anyone greeted me at the door with no other patrons in house. The burger was nothing special. I can make what they gave me. There really wasn't any flair or flavor to the burger. It was also raw in the middle, like they only showed it to the heat and browned the outside. I had to microwave it to eat it. I'm a big fan of this place, and all I ever get is the Memphis Chicken Sandwich. I'm normally the type that tries something different if I go to a restaurant, but the Memphis Chicken hits the spot every time for me. The slaw is great, and the sauce on the sandwich is the perfect compliment to the chicken and slaw. The fries are pretty good. My favorite thing about this place though is their assortment of craft sodas. They have a big collection, biggest of any restaurant in Utah Valley. I had the Bundaberg Peachee and it was so good! We arrived at 5:45 on. a Thursday, and were greeted with "we are busy right now, so you might have to wait a awhile".....wow, way to make us feel welcome. Sadly, the one a guest wanted a flavor that was sold out, so she had to go with choice "B" (delivery in TWO weeks!). We placed our dinner orders for our party of four. When our dinners came, there were three of our four. The server quickly returned with the fourth and hurriedly left...but it was not the right order!!! Had to get his attention again . "Oh sorry, something is wrong with our printer " (???). At first we waited, then slowly started eating before the 4th dinner arrived (or we all would have had cold food). We had to wait yet again to get his attention to order dessert, but he did inform us it was 10-15min to prepare the "deep fried cookie dough"... There was no effort made to reduce our bill owing to their mix up on our order. Most restaurants I frequent would have "comp'd" the drinks or dessert for that kind of error. it pained me to leave a tip after such shoddy service, but I know that food service workers are dependent on tips, so left the 15%... We don't live in the Provo area, but will definitely consider carefully where to eat the next time we are there. read more

This place has gone significantly downhill recently. I got the fried chicken sandwich and my wife got the house fried chicken (boneless, and for $2 extra). The quality of the chicken was horrendous, half of it was fat and the other half was undercooked. The only edible thing was the hush puppy's. I've been here multiple times and used to love the house wings they had but this time there was literally just skin bone and tendon on them.
