Went for dinner on Friday night, 8/29/14. We had the shrimp Alexander for an appetizer. It was reAlly good. Garlic-Parmesan crusted shrimp in a creamy lemon-dill sauce. Try a bite with the slivers of red pepper. Had the Captain for an entree. Both my husband and my steaks were slightly overcooked, a big disappointment in a steakhouse. The steaks were very tender and flavorful so I did not send it back. (Pink in the middle is NOT medium rare.) After dinner our coffee was served cold and the crust on the cheesecake was soggy. So why four stars? It is the best in the area, the steaks are great, the martinis are awesome (chocolate foreplay is my favorite after dinner drink). I have more to try on the menu so I will be back. read more

Ordered a margharitta pizza, (2) $11 dollars each, and my 2 year old ate both of them. They were so small the bill was almost $25.00. what a rip off. big time. i had to go next door to GEOs and get a real pizza, I will not be going back, very poor portions for the price. read more

Great atmosphere for a date night. Great drinks, appetizers, potato soup, steaks.... but avoid the seafood risotto (way too sweet).

I read all of the Yelp reviews about this place before going there with my family for my Birthday Celebration. I didn't find the negative reviews to be accurate. We made reservations, got right in, had first rate service, we had our drinks and food served in a timely manner and everyone was friendly, from the Hostess to our Waitress. The interior of the restaurant appears to be brand new, clean and a lot of fun. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and the staff knows how to make a birthday special with a group birthday song and an incredible roman candle on your birthday cake. My extended family, myself and my wife meet up in the Dwight, Pontiac area because it's a way that we can all drive an equal distance to meet for special events. We've tried numerous restaurants all over the area and this one is at the top. I had the full slab of ribs and they were wonderful, others in our party were equally happy with their entrees. The only criticism i could offer would be that the entries were a bit pricey for the area and the restaurant should include some fresh bread and butter just prior to or served with dinner. I have been to this restaurant several times both for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is always nice and food is good. On Mother's Day they offered a brunch buffet that my wife and I decided to go to. The food was good however it was slightly high priced for what you got. When the bill came they took the liberty of adding a 20% tip automatically that I couldn't alter. We only saw the waitress 4x throughout our meal and remember this was a self serve buffet; she didn't need to do much. I know everyone has to make a living and it is Mother's Day however to charge plenty for the meal and then take the 20% liberty seemed a bit much. read more

We pass through Dwight on a regular basis while traveling between Chicago and Central IL, but never stop. This time, we decided to stop and have dinner in Dwight. We picked Station 343 based on a drive by and an open parking space. This was the best restaurant experience we have had in a long time. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who took our names and directed us to the bar until a table was available. The hostess checked in with us several times to keep us apprised of the status. The bar tender picked up where the hostess left off and made us feel like we were the only customers in the restaurant (which was quite busy). He went over the menu item by item, gave his personal recommendations, gave us an overview of the restaurant, and even invited us to a future event with a live band. Once seated, we found the booth to be comfortable, and the waitress to be prompt and professional. I am a steak snob and found the filet to be on par with the offerings from the best Chicago landmarks, such as Morton's. The decor and ambiance were also on par with Naperville or Lincoln Park, and the patrons at the bar provided an energy that just made the place feel "hip". The downtown surroundings were also pleasing and added to the experience. Way more than we expected from a restaurant in such a small town. We will plan our travels to include a meal at Station 343 when possible in the future. If you are in the area, and are looking for a great meal, then give this place a try. If you are in a restaurant rut, and are within an hour or two drive, give this place a try. read more

We've been here three times in the past 6 months, and each time we experience something a little different. We really hope this place succeeds, as there are so few decent eating establishments in the area. However, with the service we've had the last two times, I have to wonder at what point we will give up. Our waitress, while very nice, has no clue how to properly serve her tables. Wrong drinks, no rolls, extremely long wait between salad and main course (only 25% of dining room was full because it was early). We can only surmise that she forgot to put our order in, but nothing was said at all, nor were more drink orders taken during the more than half hour wait between courses. Getting more drinks or even seeing the dessert options was painful, as was getting our check -- a receipt plopped on the table. We like the food. My steak was good (filet - medium), I've had it twice now. The first time it was served medium rare. The second it was almost medium well. We will probably go back. But we will speak up a little more loudly before we fork over nearly $100 for dinner for two, for bad service. read more

Absolutely fantastic dinner out for my group! Beginning with the decor, which is amazing and CLEAN, which is really important to all of us, we were greeted by friendly people from the moment we walked in until we left. Martinis and drinks were right on the money and the food was creative and just as delicious as our server described! I've been to Station 343 a handful of times. Never had a problem to begin with but the past two visits have been terrible. Our table was ignored as the waitress sat down and talked to a different table. It took almost an hour to get our entrées after our appetizers. The food was still very good. Tonight however I didn't even get to eat. We were told it would be a half our to forty five minute wait for a table for two. No problem so we took a seat at the bar. The bartenders were very polite and served us promptly. After about half an hour we decided to eat our appetizer at the bar while we waited. We watched as the hostess ignored the open tables and continued to talk to other customers. Eventually one of the bartenders went to the hostess to ask about our table and was told we were next. Then we watched 3 other couples seated who had arrived after us. After almost an hour and a half we decided to call it quits and left. read more

I've been going to station 343 since they opened. When they first opened, the service was great. I was honestly never impressed with their menu. They lacked selection and for anyone who might be vegetarian, you can forget it. Almost every entree has some sort of meat in it. The menu was very small when they first started (I've noticed they really have no kid friendly items on the menu) but I went again and they literally cut the menu in half. So, a menu that already lacked selection, cut in half. The only thing that was really outstanding were the stuffed portobello mushrooms, which were cut from the menu. We called to make a reservation for 7:30 and the hostess asked if we could come at 7:15 instead. We agreed and ended up running a few minutes behind and we're kind enough to call and let them know (only 3-5 minutes late). When we arrived, we were told our table would be ready shortly. Shouldn't it have been ready at 7:15?? So we stood in the lobby area, waiting for almost a half hour. Finally, one person in our party asked when the table would be ready, and the hostess said "oh it is ready! Thank goodness you asked" so the table had been sitting empty for how long? When we were finally seated, it was 7:40. We were told our waitress would be with us shortly. I guess shortly means 20 minutes later. We finally got our drinks at 8 o'clock. Our waitress came back to take our order and informed us that they were out of all of the specials, fillets, and prime rib. So, they have 6 or 7 menu items to begin with and then cut that in half? By the time we finally got our order taken, it was 8:10. I was told the sandwich I ordered was served warm and I got tater tots with it. We waited until 8:40 for our food and when it finally came, the sandwich I received was cold. Two people at our table ordered items including meatballs and the meatballs were hard as a rock! We were told that the chef would be informed and the manager would be out to talk to us. The manager told the people at our table with the golf ball meatballs that they items had been taken off the bill and then said "what was wrong with yours?" To me. To which I said, "well the sandwich is freezing cold" and she said "well it's supposed to be served cold" and I said "I was told it was a warm sandwich" to which she said "so you just didn't like it?" No, I was told it was a hot sandwich. She also offered to take it off the bill. One person at our table decided to bring food home and asked the manager for a box. She waited almost 20 minutes before having to walk to the kitchen herself to get a box. UNBELIEVABLE. When we were brought out the bills, one person at out table had a coupon for $15 off of $30 or more and her bill ended up being $28 dollars (ONLY because they had to take things off the bill). They said she wouldn't be able to use the coupon. The person at our table confronted the manager. She said "for everything we've been through tonight and how long we waited for everything, you're really not going to let me use this? The only reason the bill is under thirty is because you made a mistake and had to take food off the bill because it was not edible" to which the MANAGER said "YOU are the one who called and said YOU would be late! Why don't we just comp your whole bill?!" She then came to our table demanding that we were all offered free dessert (which we weren't) and that doesn't fix everything anyway? The food was NOT edible! The manager then GOT IN MY MOM'S FACE and mocked her saying "oh do you have anymore coupons? And you were offered free dessert!" We were given back our money and cards. When we were leaving, the manager was WAVING THE COUPONS saying "oh make sure you come back and see us!" We will NEVER be back there again. I have NEVER met someone so rude in my life! Maybe worry less about dressing too young for your age and worry about customer service?? What happened to the customer is always right? Could have save a lot of time, hassle and money if I just got a few mcchickens. read more
