Station craft in Dana Point is an excellent restaurant that provides California fresh tastes with a relaxing yet interactive dining experience. From viewing of sporting events on one of the numerous TV's to the beachy yacht rock radio, this restaurant is the ideal atmosphere for a gathering with friends or family dinner. Small touches like the accessible power outlets, wide open windows, and extremely comfortable chairs this dining experience was very pleasant. The menu provides a wide variety of American comfort foods from classic salads to decadent burgers, and the food is a perfect combination of fresh and rich. I was not disappointed by my BLTA Sandwich, the herb aioli and fresh bread and vegetables of which made the meal delectable. Our server Bella elevated our experience greatly, as her knowledge about the menu and attentiveness to our dining experience was very helpful. Visited this new brewery during Covid during their opening weekend Jam 2021. The location used to be an old bike shop and they did a good job of upgrading it to a brewery with kitchen. The inside was closed due to pandemic but looked spacious and leads to the open patio with nice views. My review is mainly commenting about the cool space and beer quality was good. Great new place in DP. Sad to see Bike Religion go, but I'll take a brewery for a worthy replacement. They just opened 2 days ago, so was expecting a lot of kinks in the their system (inexperienced service and food not quite hitting the mark). I would argue you don't feel it here. Really great opening. Can't go wrong with the location in the center of Lantern District--makes for a nice walk off the calories sesh. Would be nice if they had prices listed on the online menu, happy hour would be a bonus (especially considering their burger is $17), and icing on the cake would be some traditional brewery games in the back lot--cornhole, yard Jenga, etc. Looking forward to becoming a regular. Now they just need to iron out how to avoid soggy buns (no euphemism here) on their burger and perhaps tooth picking both the burger and chicken sandwich and there will be some solid grubbing. So unfortunate, this has been our go to casual dining spot since moving to the Lantern District almost 2 years ago, but not anymore. I have been meaning to write this review since Halloween, our last experience here. We went for the Halloween event which was supposed to be from 7-11 pm, including a costume contest and when we got there at 8 pm found out the Halloween contest was done at 4 pm? What? In addition the food that day, their cheeseburgers were like eating a salt burger, fries were soggy and the bun was also soggy from the shredded lettuce (which was always a great burger a couple of lettuce leaves). The only highlight was the great server we had that night. When I went to advise the arrogant Manager of the issues he said how he used to work as a Michelin Chef (relevance?). We would have written the issues off due to the event, but ate there the Sunday before and the fish and chips (which used to be a nice filet with a light panko breading) and the sweet potato fries (used to be stellar) were so greasy they practically slid off the plate. This Management is going to take a notch above the rest brewery and run it into the ground. No longer a recommendation for friends or on our dining list. read more

I have been not so patiently waiting for Station Craft to open and boy oh boy did they not disappoint. My only complaint is that I am so sad I moved away. The beer, the staff and the food were all fantastic. The shirt I bought is buttery soft and lovely. The beers: Ruby Lantern- an IRISH RED!!! in all caps for emphasis because I can never find a solid Irish Red anywhere and figures when I find one I truly enjoy I move across the country -_-... buttt that isn't their fault. The Hazy- (Hippo something) sorry can't recall was citrusy and light and just what I want in a hazy. We collectively ordered pretty much everything on the menu... the standouts in my opinion would be the burger and chicken sandwich. This spot is going to be awesome once they can fully open, so much room for activities... the parking isn't the best so plan early or uber/carpool if you can but that is a given for anything PCH. go support this new business!! read more

I've been coming to station craft for quite some time now because of the atmosphere, the food, the people and service. Whether it's to have a bite to eat, a drink while watching a game on their big screen or working on my laptop. It has it all. Jake is my favorite server to see so when you come into station craft, ask for him. Such a sweet, young gentleman, hard worker and very personable. This place is an absolute dream!!! I got in contact with Jason months ago about hosting our wedding reception here and he went above and beyond to make everything possible. When we showed up the day of the party everything was already set up perfectly with plenty of room to mingle and dance. The food was delicious and constantly being replenished so our guests were happy. We had multiple guests compliment the service and how helpful they were being throughout the entire night... the drinks were flowing! We had an absolute blast and I can't imagine it going any better. This is for beers only. Just ok. I had a sampling of a few. Generally they are fine, but nothing that interesting or special. There's a really good brewery scene starting to grow in the area, but these beers aren't in that category. These feel like the typical "house beers" at a place like Chili's. Basic beer. The real problem is the prices. I paid $12 for each of the 16oz beers I had. That's truly outrageous. The most expensive beer at the Montage (where you expect a major mark-up) is still only $10 - which is also high. I mean... when charging $12 per beer... that's a different level of out of touch arrogance. read more

I grew up 5 miles from the oldest brewery in England. Station Craft has the best IPA I've tasted in a long while. Their West Coast IPA is amazing. Had a unique visit at Station Craft with some Saturday morning yoga on their patio with iheartyoga followed by a brew inside! Station Craft definitely came through to say the least. The parking can be a little tight as their is a small lot in the back but thankfully there is a residential area around that offers street parking. The location of the brewery is prime and has the perfect summer vibes! Post yoga on the patio, our group enjoyed a combination of ciders and ales. The drinks were refreshing and enjoyable on the high top seating inside the brewery. We opted for one order of sweet potato waffle fries by way of recommendation and OMG they were so good. They weren't just ordinary sweet potato fries. In addition to everything being fantastic, the pricing and service was on point. I loved the vibe and feel of Station Craft. It's taken me a while to write this post because I was hoping things would change but they haven't...this place just isn't the same, and I'm honestly so bummed. This was our go to spot and we came at least one time a week even if just for a drink. We haven't been back since the menu changed. The atmosphere used to be amazing, there were all kinds of options whether you wanted wings and a burger or were feeling healthy and wanted a great salad. The wait staff and bartenders were awesome but this new chef and menu have wrecked the place. When we arrived, we had no idea the menu had changed and you could just tell by the attitude of the bartender that the moral was low. I usually go for the ahi tuna salad or the wings (like I order every Sunday during football season and sometimes get multiple orders to go if we're having a party at our house)...but surprise, the entire menu changed. We started off with the corn...you could barely taste the corn through the gallons of tasteless, fatty sauce that it was swimming in. Then we got the Nashville hot chicken sliders. All I have to say is LOL. I'm from the south. Unless you're going to spice the sh*t out of something...don't slap a southern label on it. This was an embarrassment and shows the chef has no idea what Nashville hot chicken actually is. I could rant on but I'll cut off this already long post by saying that it's an end of a chapter for us. We won't be back unless everything changes again. Overall it was overpriced and just not good. We'll be finding a new spot for football sundays this year and a new weekly spot as well. read more

8/2023 - menu change sucks! All the real good items have been removed from the "new menu". No more boars meatballs, or Spicy hummus dip w/awesome veggies, no more whole soft hot pretzels with cheese sauce. And no more authentic fish & chips! The "new" fish & chips were horrible- fish looked & tasted frozen and it's now breaded with black sesame seeds - wtf!? Sesame seeds, when browned too long, become bitter. The fish did not taste fresh either. The fries are not the same either - sadly they look and taste like pre-fab frozen coated fries. No flavor - The nachos are not the same either- the "bbq beef" we had added to our nachos ($8.00 add on) was not bbq beef - it was super fatty and I could not eat the beef. The toppings on the nachos were sparse and just meh- no jalapeños or fresh tomatoes either - super disappointing! Saving Grace - My patio pounder drink was good. I asked the waiter what happened to the menu & food - his reply was we have a new chef & were going thru growing pains. Um, a good experienced chef should be able to put out quality food on night one...let alone 2 weeks into his new job. Not impressed at all. Bring back the old menu and the prior chef!! I don't know if I'll be back- I used to come here at least once a week. UPDATE: I found the "fish " from their "beer battered locally caught fish & chips": Costco -Kirkland brand breaded cod!
