This place is really small, we took the biggest table in the back just for the two of us. Food was good, I ordered the boneless pork chops and 3 eggs and biscuits and gravy and added some hashbrowns on the side. The pork chops came bone in but were very tasty nonetheless, everything was pretty good and the fact that they're open 24/7 is a plus if you're hungry after a night out. Service was decent. Just a neighborhood breakfast joint, they do serve lunch and dinner too. Il

The former "Snuffy's" 24 hour breakfast emporium has been transformed to a stainless steel abomination of a diner. Maybe a caricature in print or a cartoon in video would best describe the visual impression...it tries too hard and it shows! Let me clarify this. The former ownership "Snuffy's" was in business forever. Love it or hate it, there is a reason it was a "Route 66" landmark. I had Ham (sliced off the bone) and eggs more times than I can count. The flat top grill was seasoned repeatedly for decades, the color, Black on Black! The side burners, in true diner form were representative of an eternal flame. The 8 inch fry pans that intensely cooked fresh cracked eggs kissed the flame as the cook effortlessly flipped the pan to your specification. The taste was Impeccable! However over time the building was neglected, you could see it coming...CLOSED! Back to SNE, I love Diners but not this one. I noticed the seating capacity sign of 44...so I started to count. As I visually scanned the diner footprint I was uncomfortable with the owners concept to resurrect an image of a diner...and miss! Food for thought: Eggs are fresh, steaks are altered/ tenderized & the toast is never delivered on time!

I love this style family run diner. 3 generations keeping the desire to provide fresh and affordable meals alive. Not a huge place, but that keeps the cozy set up hopping. Belly up to the counter and watch the cook in action. Enjoyed my first visit and had to try to chopped bologna 'n eggs. Almost just like Mom used to make, but she would grill the bologna first. They just made the Rt 66 Hall of Fame... this building has been a diner for 90 yrs. Stop by anytime Open 24/7 and free WiFi.

Great place to eat breakfast or even eat breakfast alone. There are other people on the move doing the same. A quick two over easy with rye toast and a cup of Joe. Your set. In and out in 20 minutes back to traffic and busy schedules.

I love this place. It's not a nice restaurant it's a small diner with excellent food and a great staff. I always get 2 eggs over medium 2 pcs of toast and the hash browns and it's always cooked perfect as in the eggs are a little runny but never too much perfect for dipping the toast ! They also have a decent cup of Joe here

I'm so glad we finally had a chance to visit. This small little diner is a gem for kids. If you can…read moresit at the counter, it's the place to be--though I think there's only two or three tables away from the countertop, so you probably have a good chance. Anyway, when you sit at the counter, your food is delivered by a little train that runs from the kitchen and stops at your seat. It's clever, it's whimsical, it's amusing. It made me smile as much as or maybe even more than my toddler. (She may have been more excited about the pancakes.) If it's your birthday, they'll send you a birthday cupcake by train and the whole joint will sing you a happy birthday. The food was better than I expected, with a good selection of items. I was considering the 2x4 until I saw the turkey club, which is something I'd actually been craving for weeks and unable to find so I went with that. It hit the spot, and one of the servers brought me some chipotle mayo and said everyone likes it so she brings it to everyone. And she was right, so there's a tip for you to ask for a side of it for your fries or whatever. Once we were finished we went to play! The place has a bunch of ways to entertain your kids. There's a photo booth, some kiddie ride machines, machines with toys and trinkets, claw machines, and more. They all take cash, but if you don't have cash they have at least one and maybe two change machines for you to get quarters. There's a train display at the front of the restaurant for kids to look at too. It's a great place and I'm looking forward to returning. There's no dedicated parking, but there's street parking and a small city lot down the block.

Jumped online and looked for some reviews of local restaurants in Chesterton, Indiana, a little…read moretown adjacent to Indiana dunes national Park. Found a couple promising choices and we settled on northside diner. And it was a great choice. Inside it has that quirky retro 50s, nostalgic feel. Memorabilia and art around the small building. Standout performances by the service staff. As it should have been, it was extremely busy on a Saturday morning. There also happened to be a festival in town. Which may have even subtracted from the amount of people waiting to get a booth, as there were some food trucks and other activities going on. But that being said, we sat at the little counter and ordered your basic breakfast with eggs and bacon and toast plus some biscuits and gravy and I was pleased that I didn't order the full-size biscuits and gravy because the half size was as big as a normal size at other restaurants. Gravy was full flavor, not gritty at all, and there was more than adequate amounts of sausage. Sometimes you have to play hunt the sausage, which is just a scary statement. I had ordered an extra well-done sausage patty just in case I needed to cut up more and had it. But I would've been OK without. Happy with our choices plus a tremendous value. Highly recommend anyone coming into the Indiana dunes area looking for a great breakfast value I believe the place closes at 1 o'clock, so keep that in mind. Now we were there on a Saturday so please check hours. Enjoy.

It was busy, so we sat at the counter, and "Ti" (not sure how she spelled it) and her assistant Haley gave us excellent service, and then Ti's Mom came out and talked with us. What a friendly, positive place for good food! Highly recommend!
