Great customer service! The servers were so friendly and made me and my family feel so welcomed. The food and shakes were great as well!

Coming from California, I had to try this place considering it was my first experience. Overall, it was similar to a fast food Denny's. I had the Frisco Melt and an Oreo Cookies N Cream Shake. The Frisco melt is on buttery toasted sourdough, very greasy, and tastes similar to a Sourdough Jack at Jack In The Box on the West Coast. The shake really didn't taste much like Oreo nor Cookies N Cream, rather a vanilla shake with some crumbs of Oreo, which tasted HINTS of what I ordered. Overall, the service and food was nothing to write home about. Would I return again in the future? Sure - but it wouldn't be my FIRST choice. read more

This was completely awful and uncalled for. I thought my husband was about to get jumped by the staff. Management was clearly dismissive about the whole situation. He did not care at all that his employees were cursing at a would - have been- customer. He didn't even take time to listen to what led up to this. Then, from some random woman (I'm guessing it was the manager's wife or something) comes up and says, "I have a 10 year old, she doesn't want to hear that." First of all, that's not my husband. He has a thick accent distinction. Take that up with the staff. All of them dropped what they were doing to yell profanity at my husband. If they were so short staffed they should send the management to talk to us. 2nd, why is your 10 year old out till 1:00 on a school night? You are not working. That child needs sleep. But let me start from the beginning. We walked in, the waitress was there, saw us, made no attempt to acknowledge us and walked right passed. I understand that things are busy, so after a good 10 minutes I asked a cook if we seat ourselves. He muttered something we couldn't understand so we did. More people come in and get service. We caught on it was take out only , after the waitress stood in the middle of the room, seemingly trying to pretend we were not there, standing right beside us and acknowledging everyone else. Her back was NOT turned toward us. After 15 more minutes we get up and go to the bar, were my husband asks for help from the waitress 5 DIFFERENT TIMES. She doesn't look at him or even acknowledge him even though she is walking 2 feet away. She doesn't even bother to say, "I'll be with you in a moment" Not once. We understand food service, but this was ridiculous and unprofessional by all means. So my husband, hoping to be heard at least for the 5th attempt, raises his voice, and taps on the stainless steel bar with his ring saying, "excuse me ma'am, can we order?" Then she and a bunch of staff abandoned their posts and came at all corners to curse on him. Please check out the cameras at 12:25am - 1:00am on 1/8/18 and see what led up to this. There was a moment I wasn't sure if he was about to be assaulted. My husband did not mean disrespect towards the staff, we were trying to place an order after being repeatedly ignored. I'm disappointed that there are people in world that behave like the disrespectful boy that you had working the drive thru window at 5am October 27th. I've spent all night in ICU with my sick family member. I'm finally on my way home and stop for food. I'm greeted by a dude with an attitude. I ordered a meal and asked for a side of bbq sauce in the bag. I pay and am told immediately to go park by the front door. I sit a short time and get my food by the same guy. I asked him if the bbq was in the bag. With an attitude he told me it should be. I look and no bbq. No problem for me. I said that I would just run in behind him to get it. He says no and talks shit the whole way back in the building. He comes back out and tossed the bbq at me. I told him to have a blessed day because clearly he was exercising some demons. He said whatever and flipped me the bird. To that guy specifically... someone didn't raise you right and your boss must be desperate for employees if you still have job. First and foremost, every customer looked angry and things were going back fast, also the drive threw was really slow but most steak and shakes are but this is my story here. I Had 2.99 on my app and wanted to use it, the cashier said I had to put my credit card on my account, I put it on and told me to swipe, they took off the only the card and not the 2.99 that came with the deal, I asked why didn't it and the cashier went to the manager to see why. The cashier came back saying it had to have had $5 on the app. I asked to take it off because I didn't want to pay with my credit card and asked for the manager to come over. The manager still didn't come over and the cashier could basically only talk to me, the cashier talked to the manager and came back to tell me since it wasn't a physical transfer they couldn't give me the money I didn't want to give back. Went in, first thing I noticed was a foul smell. I think it was their cleaning supplies, as my seat and table appeared recently cleaned. I was seated promptly, and my order was taken smoothly. There were only two other parties in the restaurant when I arrived, and one was leaving. So they weren't at all busy. This meant that there were at least eight employees there, and only three were busy. The rest were on their phones or chatting about an earlier angry customer (loudly and with customers present). My food arrived in good time, and it was delicious. However, the burger was greasier than a fat kid with an acne problem. The fries and milkshake were fine. The waitress gave me my ticket, and I tipped her decently, as she did nothing wrong. But when I went to pay, I was standing there for five minutes, watching two employees on their cellphones, one employee listening to an iPod, and a fourth employee walk right by me, none of which asked if I was ready to pay. About five seconds before I was going to ask if they wanted my money or not, the guy with the iPod yelled out something like "register", loud enough that it frightened one of the employees on her phone. A few seconds later, what appeared to be a manager came out and took my payment. He asked how I was, and I considered laying all of this on him, but I figured a Yelp review might be taken more seriously. I've been to plenty of Steak n Shake's in my life, and the food has always been decently priced and quick to come out. Every now and then something can be slow, but this location isn't any different than all of the others. The steak burgers are fresh, and the milkshakes are thick. I always get the snickers shake. 24 hour restaurants are never perfect, but this Steak 'n Shake seems to have it together. read more

I visited the restaurant on 10/23/17 to get something to eat. When I received my food the the chicken tenders were hot freshly cooked but the fries were old and cold. So I go back to the restaurant and the cashier immediately says "what's wrong now" I take the fries out and reply back you tell me. Theses fries are old and cold. So he says I don't make the food I just take the orders. So the manager comes over and I tell him what's going on and offer to pay for the tenders I ate but the fries were unexceptable. He tells me he cant refund a partial meal and then offers me some more fries. I told I don't want fries I'm already late for work. Then he says well I can't refund a partial meal. So I asked him did he have a card he said no very unprofessional as a manager then he gives me a piece of recipt paper with his name written on it. The only person worth anything in this location is the mexican guy that works in the morning. He is the only person who seems to know what he is doing, amd my food always seems better when it comes from him. I wish i knew his name. My most recent visit, i went thru drive thru at about 5:50am and was told i could not get breakfast till 6am! What!? What else does a person eat at 5 in the morning. We don't go here for the hamburgers that often although they are very good and one Steak N Shake tends to be like the others based on my experience. I think this chain really emphasizes customer service; I have never been into a Steak N Shake and experienced anything less than exceptional customer service. Their hamburgers are good although it seems like they are smaller than what I remember from years past, or maybe I am just bigger and that makes them seem smaller,LOL. Where Steak N Shake really shines in my humble opinion is with their milkshakes. They have some of the best milkshakes that I have ever had, especially their Reese's Peanut Butter Cup milkshake. I've also had their M&M milkshake and it was pretty good as well. There may be some higher-end gourmet type milkshake shops in Atlanta that may outdo them but for a chain restaurant they are pretty darn good. If you go to their website you can sign up for their mailing list, we started getting a lot of buy-one-get-one-free coupons for their milkshakes (and other stuff) after we signed up for that. read more
