Should have looked at other reviews before coming here. It took 15 minutes to be seated. There were 2 other groups waiting. We figured when they got the tables cleaned and we were seated, everything would go quickly. Not. Finally got our shakes, except they forgot one. And an order of water was never delivered. Then, after an hour, food was delivered. One burger wasn't brought, and another was wrong. Ketchups in every table we checked were empty. Who knew burgers and shakes would take 2 hours! I let the manager know, and left $20 for our food. She tried to give it back, but I said "no, we are the food and the shakes were good." One complete order (the forgotten shake and burger) wasn't even on the bill. We won't be back. Ugh. read more

This place has the worst service. 1. We arrived at 10:45 to be told they are no longer serving b-fast I had to point out that there was still 15min for b-fast. 2. Server had an attitude not just to us but to other sitting near us. 3. A gentlemen has been sitting for almost 15 min we can see him boiling has not been served yet. 4. Love the food. I came from Abilene and was there for business I thought on the way home I'd stop by to get something for the drive home I ordered a Cajun slider meal with Cajun seasoned fries the single quac and a frisco slider instead they gave me a full frisco sandwich and charged me the $4 sandwich when I wanted the 89 cent slider (this is why you always repeat the order back). I went through drive thru which took 10 minutes for my order. Drive thru is for fast food...not slow food. When I got my food along with my frisco sandwich being wrong I also didn't get my seasoned Cajun fries which I made an extra 50 cents for. I had a horrible experience here tonight. My friends and I ordered a total of 4 shakes from the take out counter and it took 40 minutes for them to be made. After 25 minutes, I complained to the manager and asked if she thought the timing was unacceptable. Her reply was "the wait has been longer and that it's been a long day." While I can understand an occasional shortfall, there was no compassion nor was there any attempt to recover from the issue. No refund was offered (only $3.23 but it's more about the principle). Arrived on a Saturday night-seemed pretty busy as soon as we drove up. Walked and there's a sign that say, "Wait to be seated" so...we wait. We waited for at least 10 min. One person at the register seemed to acknowledge us but never came or said anything. My friend went to one of the waitresses (at least 5 of them standing around the register, granted I'm sure they were waiting on other tables but still, standing.) and he asked one of them if they could be seated. She told them that the tables weren't cleaned al though there were one or two spots opened. She started cleaning a larger table for at least 6 and we saw that there was a booth open on the side. My friend went back and asked if they could sit there. She said okay and as soon as my friend turned she gave him an ugly face and rolled her eyes at him. OH IM SORRY WE'RE MAKING YOU WORK AT YOUR JOB. That kind of did for us. We stood there considering leaving. Well she called another person and he and his friends sat and she started taking there orders even though we had been there before them. You would think she would at least seat us but no. So we left. Our office is right across the road from this establishment, so it's very convenient for us to get our breakfasts and lunches from there. Without exception, EVERY time we've gone through the drive-thru, something is wrong or left out of the order completely. An order of fries, a burger...its always something. It doesn't matter if we're ordering from the drive-thru or if we place an order online, or even call ahead. Today it was no onions in my chili and no dressing for the salad. My salad was healthier, granted, but less enjoyable. When I've called to let them know my order was wrong, they've always promised to replace the meal, but when I go back they tell me "That manager isn't here anymore", just a week later. Staff took almost 5 minutes to even acknowledge I was at the menu in the drive thru. No cars in front of me when I pulled up so it's not like they were busy with the drive thru. I asked for a sandwich and a drink only. They repeated the order back to me, it was incorrect. Instead of a sandwich and a drink, they punched in a combo meal but at least it was the right sandwich. So rather than arguing I just accepted it and drove to the window. Sat there for another 13 minutes. Finally got the food and left. Got home and checked the food, they did give me a combo but it turned out to be the wrong combo meal all together. I called the restaurant and asked for a team lead or supervisor and was immediately hung up on. I immediately called back and a different employee answered, again I asked for a team lead or manager and was again immediately hung up on. I called back a third time. This time they answered the phone with an attitude and mostly only gave short one word answers. I asked for a team lead, the employee said 'okay'..... Long awkward silence.... Finally I asked if that's who I was talking to... She said yes, so I started to complain about the experience. She ended up talking over me and was rude. Never addressed my concerns about the time it took to get served, the time it took to be acknowledged at the drive thru, being hung up on 3 times prior to this call. This is laughable customer service. I can understand being a little short with a pissy customer but that's not what happened here. This is the 3rd or 4th bad experience I've had at this location but the first time I've decided to complain. read more

It can be a hit and miss. Sometimes service is great and sometimes service is nonexistent. It just depends how there mood is.

Be prepared to sit in the drive through for at least 30 to 45 minutes. I have been here for 20 minutes already and I had to call in the inside and asked was it something wrong with the damn speaker.So the lady on the phone says something to them and what do you know a young girl comes on the speaker with an attitude like I am inconveniencing her .If this was just one time ok I could understand it but this is every time I come here.Obviously it is managed poorly by management and the owners because the employees would not be able to get away with this type of service and it has potential to be a busy restaurant.They better be glad I am not the manager they couldn't work under me my customers deserve the best however this will be my last visit read more

The service isn't just slow: it is uncaring, inept, and clueless. I walked in at 7 on a Sunday night. There was no one sitting at the counter stools so I asked the hostess if I could sit there. She said "sure". Joke was on me because after sitting there 15 minutes. I realized there was no one assigned to take orders at the counter. So I got up and waited to be seated at a table. Same hostess directs me to a table and says she'll be right back to take my order. She then disappears for 15 minutes. I finally flagged down another waitress and she volunteered to take my order after making it clear it wasn't her table. After being there 30 minutes without being able to order, I was thankful. I've been here many times and I understand that they are short on workers. However, this has been on of the worst experiences that I've ever had. I had a party of 6 and there was a party of 10 who came ahead of us. After they were seated, we were pretty much watching them not serve us. We were practically ignored. Then another party of 10 came in and a waiter approached them. Like really.. Mr. Downton approached us and asked who was here first. We said that we were here first and that we've been waiting an Mr. Downton, who is the assistant manager, rudely raised his tone and said, "Okay, okay. Be Patient" .. Who is he to tell us to be patient. We just said we were the ones first. For an assistant manager to speak to us like that was very unprofessional. There is no hygiene or customer service. The waiter made us wait 20 minutes to take our order and 55 minutes to bring back 3 burger combos. Slowest service ever! We waited for over 45 minutes for four cheeseburgers and fries. Whenever we received our food, the burgers were inedible because they were overcooked and the fries were cold. The waitress offered to get us new ones, but I told her that I didn't want to wait for another 45 minutes. She offered to microwave our meals for us. They were out of prime burgers and coleslaw. The waitress said that the kitchen is always this way and she can't help them, because it's not allowed. I also overheard another table complain; they ordered one milkshake and waited over 30 minutes. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They did give us a 25% discount without me asking, but I would've rather have spent my $20 at a gas station and gotten better food and faster service. read more

When we walked in 85% of the tables were a mess! When we were finally seated we were told that our waitress would be right with us. The hostess seated 4 people after us and took their drink order right away. "Our" waitress seated people behind us and took their drink order. We are still waiting for drinks or any kind of acknowledgement that we are even in the restaurant. We are now starting to get upset when I see the manager. The employee cleaning tables heard and sees that we are unhappy and calls for someone to help "table 42". We are table 42. The original person wanders over and says she'll take our drink order. I then told her that we were very unhappy that the 2 tables that were seated after us already had drinks and we had been seated for 10 minutes with no service. She replies " Well you're not my table and no one wants to take you so I'll get your drinks". Wait what? Uh-uh!!! We tell her never mind then we don't want her service and make a bee-line for the manager. We let him know how horrible the service was and that we were informed that no one wants to take us. Why? Because we were wearing our Cowboys game jerseys? It's game day. We're in Texas. Everyone had game jerseys on! Is it because we're interracial with our interracial son? We've been married 25 years and it's 2015. Come on! My only kudos is to the manager who was clearly upset and called all of the workers over while we walked out. I hope she was sent home. Or fired. Or both. We travel to Texas at least 2x a year and always stay at the same hotel close to this restaurant. We will never darken their doorstep again. read more

I came into this place expecting the worst. I had looked at the review of this place before hand and was debating about going to this place but we eventually decided to go here because there was no other Steak & Shake around were we live. We entered and we were immediately given a booth seat and the server was very friendly. As time went on, we eventually ordered our food. Our food was out in a timely manner and was excellent. The burgers were very good and delicious. The shakes were extremely flavorful and delicious. The service at this location is no 5 star restaurant but it suffices for a burger chain. Wow...went there at 10:15 on a Sunday. There was only one car in front of us. From start to finish it took them 20 minutes to produce one sausage biscuit and 3 breakfast tacos...no apologies...no courtesy. The only comment we got was a clipped "we are waiting on sausage". Standard, predictable, dependable fare. There are few surprises,either good or bad. The burgers and fries are good. There are a lot of varieties and options to the burgers, so one can customize them in dozens - hundreds - of combinations. The shakes are great. I rarely order a milkshake anywhere else, but always do here. Breakfast is good too, with plenty of choices. Prices are very affordable. There are a lot of good, filling, low-cost choices available. It's located conveniently to Arlinton's entertainment area. Service is sometimes less than stellar, but mostly okay. read more

No sense of urgency, clowning around with a manager clearly on duty not even making sure the employees their job, and not making sure the customers are being taken care of. We waited 10 minutes for our order to be taken, and then while waiting for our food we finally got asked if we wanted water. While waiting about 30 minutes just to find out our food order was even put in. Another table came in right before we left and they even complained about the tables not even being wiped they were brought too, and there was trash all over the floor.
