Wow, I hadn't been to Steak n Shake since before Covid. They seem to have made some changes and for the better. I ordered the $4 double steak burger and shake meal. One of the best burgers I've ever had here. I remember in the past that this location was SLOW... but on my visit the drive thru was fast and the food was hot and fresh. Love that they had free fries. I was a little disappointed with the Jr shake that they are giving with this offer. They need to specify on the signage what size the shake is, maybe I would've ordered something different. Overall I was satisfied with everything including my service at the window.

This is one of the dirtiest restaurants that I have even been in. There was trash all over the floor. Multiple tables were sitting filthy. There were fries under every table that we could see from our seat. We will never eat here again. EDIT: The food was good and the staff was very nice. No complaints there. The facilities were quite disappointing though.

This place is the reason Steak 'n Shakes are closing all over the country. Terrible service. Dirty dining tables and multiple areas that need cleaning. Health violations in the open. Notice the rack sitting over the open refrigerator of hamburger. Understaffed and workers that don't care about their jobs.

Its sad wjen you go out and leave hungry especially after waiting for your food for so long. They were kinda busy but it quickly died down but we were still waiting. I asked for a couple of more pickles and got a plate full the wife paid for chicken tenders and got 3 nuggets just a little smaller in length then the salt shaker for 5.00 from a place known for their value

We were greeted by our server, Angel, who was friendly with just the right amount of sarcasm -- quick-witted and fun, never over the line. It was a Friday night, so the restaurant was definitely filling up, but the atmosphere stayed relaxed. The space itself is dimly lit, nicely decorated, and has a bit of an upscale feel without being stuffy. The menu offers a solid variety, from appetizers and salads to burgers, poultry, seafood, and steaks. Instead of bread, they start you off with house-made pickles, which I personally loved -- as a pickle fan, I didn't miss the bread at all. For my meal, I went with the 1977 Burger, ordered medium rare, topped with sautéed mushrooms, a fried egg, Havarti cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. At Ted's you can choose beef or bison, and I went with the bison. I also added a side of horseradish mayo, which really took the burger up a notch. The burger comes with fresh-cut fries or a side, and they offer a half fries, half onion rings option -- an easy choice for me. My wife went a bit more upscale with a filet, cooked medium well, and chose asparagus and Parmesan broccoli for her sides. She brought a cake to celebrate both birthdays, so we skipped dessert, but Angel surprised us with a couple of complimentary bowls of ice cream to go with the cake, which was a really nice touch. The only reason I'm not giving this a full 5 stars is because my wife's steak initially came out undercooked and her sides were cold. That said, once it was sent back, everything came out hot, cooked correctly, and she really enjoyed it. Overall, it was a very good dining experience with great service and a comfortable atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend Ted's Montana Grill for a nice night out and would happily return.

This one didn't offer one, which was a general disappointment (and offering to be might benefit them-- the place was dead for most of the two hours we were there). The space is beautiful and luxurious: a lovely fountain is in the center and signature chandeliers fill the dining area. I was a little disappointed that the choices of seating were were given -- though the place was empty-- was either a very small table (so small our servers apologized for having to awkwardly stack things as dishes came out) or a table attached to the only other large party dining there. Felt like a very strange choice. Also, while the place is very upscale and very expensive, that vibe was somewhat at odds with other diners who did arrive in what literally looked like old pajama pants and workout gear. The food was all good, but portions are very small for the big prices: entrees are all in the $50 range, sandwiches in the $30 range. A "petite" baked potato (which is petite indeed) was $14; burrata was $26. It was fine, but you can have a true consistently upscale experience elsewhere for those kinds of prices. I'd come back -- if there was a happy hour!

It's truly special when a server makes the effort to get to know everyone at the table, make jokes and join in on the laughs. I was visiting Columbus for the weekend, and throughout the rest of my stay after dinner, I can say this meal was a highlight! The atmosphere was beautiful, and we were seated right away! The cocktails were amazing, I had a strawberry fields. Now as for the short ribs, they melted in my mouth! They paired perfectly with the risotto, truly a great plate of food that felt like home! I have already recommended this place to friends visiting Columbus soon!

We visited yesterday around 3 PM after seeing the new Mario movie. We didn't have a reservation, but seating wasn't an issue at that time. As always, the restaurant was clean, lively, and welcoming. The staff was very kind, and our waitress was attentive throughout our visit. We ordered many of our usual favorites, but my entrée--the braised short rib--was not quite up to the standard I've come to expect. While the meat itself was still tender, moist, and flavorful, the risotto was disappointing. It lacked its usual creamy texture and was noticeably too thick. Additionally, the dish was served with only carrots as the root vegetable, whereas in the past it has included a variety of vegetables that really elevated the overall flavor and presentation. I was especially disappointed because this was actually the first time I remembered to take a photo of my meal before digging in. I came in fully intending to finally leave a glowing five-star review based on all of our previous great experiences--but unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to that expectation. This was surprising, especially given how consistently great this dish--and the restaurant overall--has been during our previous visits. We've dined here at least five times this year and even celebrated our son's third birthday here, so this experience felt out of character. One difference worth noting is that we typically visit for dinner, and this was our first time coming during the afternoon. It's possible there may be differences in the kitchen or service during that time. We do plan to return, as we're hoping this was just an off day. This place has earned a lot of goodwill from us over time, but we wanted to share this experience in case it's helpful for others.

Our reservation was at 5:15pm but we weren't seated for another 20 minutes or so. I believe they were overbooked because they had to open the private room to seat us. It was beautiful! They accommodated our group as well as 4 other groups to avoid longer wait time - appreciated. We ordered quite a bit of food, appetizers, cocktails, bread service, 4 entrees and sides. One slight complaint is that my husband's ribeye was overcooked slightly. He prefers medium and there was barely any pink center. For the price of the steak, it should be cooked according to how it was ordered. We did not send it back due to us wanting to enjoy dinner together without my husband having to wait for another steak. The NY Strip was cooked at a perfect medium temp. The scallops were to die for and so tender with the garlic butter sauce (and garlic bread). Regarding the Cosmo cocktail, it could use some improvement - we've had much better. The dry ice effect was nice though. Our server was very accommodating and had a great attitude and demeanor. We felt welcomed and will visit again. The decor and ambiance in this restaurant is very warm and elegant. We loved it! Complaint: the servers that box up the food mixed all of our food together in various containers. Of course we didn't notice until we opened the food the next day. Please fix this in the future.

The server was friendly and explained the menu in detail. My Mastro Manhattan and my wife's Pinot noir were excellent (very large pours too!). The bread service comes at a nominal charge -- looked a lot better than it tasted--could be improved. The shrimp appetizer was delicious but on the heavy side. We shared the 22oz bone in ribeye. It was cooked perfectly, was tender and delicious. I really enjoyed the steak even thought we weren't able to finish it all. The side sautéed spinach was pretty good as well. The ambiance is nice and festive -- a little unusual to have so many TVs on for a higher end steakhouse -- but I didn't mind it at all. I look forward to returning.
