When I arrived, I went through the drive through and was met by a rude teenager that seemingly hated her job. She was absolutely rude to me, and didn't take my order for 20 minutes. After she finally acknowledged I was there, she told me the system was down. She proceeded to take other orders from cars that were behind me. I went through the drive through again just to be called a b**** by the lady at the speaker. I left hungry and angry. She proceeded to flip me off as I left the parking lot as well as throw a drink at my car, but she had bad aim and missed thankfully. I will not be back to this location in the future. I don't know what's happened to this place. It's a great location in Cumming marketplace and should be doing great but the service and food there has gone steadily downhill. I stopped in yesterday and thought I'd give him another try. The place was only half-full which should have been a warning but I waited along with some other people and finally somebody decided to see if we wanted to be seated. I ate at the bar and had asked three people to wipe down the bar before it was done. First thing I got was a chocolate shake which turned out to be delicious but a painful choice when I take a spoonful of cherry and whipped cream and ground down on the cherry pit contained within the cherry. I had to use a spoon as nothing else was left no straw, no napkins, no silverware, no ice water. My burger and fries finally came and the server noted that I still was owed of Chili. Men lie like the burger which was okay and the fries unfortunately tasted a little of old grease. The server came by again and asked "You didn't get that chili?" This is an evaluation of both the local restaurant and district management as well as corporate. On October 31, I visited this restaurant and purchased one additional lunch along with my own. When I went to pay using my app, I was informed that the company had made a change and I couldn't use the amount on my account. I had to buy another Steak'N Shake card using my credit card to pay the check. They said I would have the remaining balance transferred to the new card but it would take a few days. It is now six weeks later and I've made several calls to the local management but mostly to corporate and asked to have that money back. I've asked that someone from corporate call me and tell me when and why I'm not getting it. The customer service reps are very nice and tell me they pass the info on but never a response. I have been to this restaurant chain for the last time unless I get some action. They have completely ignored me at the management level. STAY AWAY from Steak'N Shake!!!! read more

I have eaten at this location before and loved it, in the past with different staff. I came an hour and a half before closing and was told "our system is down it'll probably be 15-20 minutes" so I chose to wait it out. Awful. Waited 30 mins for a grilled cheese and 3 sliders. Grilled cheese was toast with a cold slice of American cheese. It wasn't even melted. The slider had 1/2 a patty and looked like they were thrown together. I asked to speak to the manager and waited an additional 30 minutes to speak to the manager. He never came. I walked my food up to the counter and asked to speak to the manager again. I was informed he was working on the grill. Why did I wait 30 minutes? I expressed my discust with the food and handed the waitress the plates and my receipt and said I wouldnt be coming back. Not a 24/7 location as advertised and closes at odd hours. The service during the day varies. Unfortunately I've had more bad than good. The service at night is consistently bad and takes quite a long time even with no other customers around. If given the option to give the location 0 stars I would with no hesitation. In the past, this was a really smooth operating Steak n Shake regardless of how busy it was. But today, it was busy, disorganized and slow. Under these circumstances our server was good. She was as efficient as she was able too, but clearly the fault falls on the current manager/management (5' female with short dirty blond hair). Upon service of my order, The burger was sloppy but at least it was served warm and so were the fries. When we went to the register area, we again waited. This same manager could see us, but made no effort to take care of her customers. Instead, she was seen chatting with a customer and chose to ignore us (the paying customer). Finally, a staff member showed up and asked us "How was everything?". Our response back, " Slow". She didn't know how to respond to our comment, chose to ignore it and gave me my change. Clearly a good mgr. Can "make or break" a good operating restaurant. In the past this location was managed by a young man. It was a good one to go to. I have no doubt he ended up getting promoted and/or moved on. This current female mgr. needs to work on her management and leadership skills. Lastly, this same manager was seen picking up a napkin from the floor and used it to wipe down a table....REALLY?! I understand why this place got a County Health score of 86 out of 100. We're discouraged with going to any of the Steak n Shakes anymore, regardless of how inexpensive it is. read more

Every time I come here it is disappointing. One time there was a milk cap in my milkshake. Another time it took 45 minutes for our Togo milkshake that we ended up leaving without but the lady at the register wouldn't take it off the ticket so we ended up paying for it. I stopped going after that, just tried one more time, we wanted to go for happy hour. Ordered a milkshake at 1:50 and asked the lady to wait on it because we wanted it for happy hour. I came here at 11:35 to order and told us to wait 20 minutes hoping for us to leave. I tried to order a shake and said no.

This place is horrible. My best friend and I, who is 5 months pregnant have come here twice in a two week span and spent no less than an an hour and a half here. Waiters and waitresses go 30 minutes between checking on you, you're lucky if you get more than one refill, and it takes 20 minutes to be seated. I really cannot say enough negative about this place.
