First and last visit to Steak & Shake. My daughter sometimes gets S&S and I was in the parking lot so I decided to try it. Biggest waste of money I've experienced in a while. The young African-American girl running the drive-thru was outwardly annoyed that I wanted to change my order -- first time there so hid forbid I want to make a change. She didn't tell me the total (since order changed checking for correct amount), couldn't be bothered to say thank you or anything. The food is crap. Fries were cold, burger was ok at best. Do not go to the steak 'n shake. Simple order garlic burger with lettuce tomato and onion. Also fries and cheese sauce for dipping. No tomato on the burger, and no cheese dipping sauce. I took my receipt up to the calendar to show them it was ordered and paid for. They gave me a half full little container cheese that didn't look right. And a slice of tomato that was green and in a horrible shape. The staff member behind the counter did not offer an apology just smiled and laughed like it was funny. Do you like a steak burger? I do. Do you like a tasty shake? I do. Funny enough, Steak 'n Shake has both! I have been a fan for a long time, but I have never been to this location. The other day I was meeting a business associate in the area and thought, I could use a shake. I walked in and felt kinda lucky, there was no line at all to order. Steak 'n Shake is a sit down place, but also you can order to go, that's what I always do. I know it all depends on the person there at the time, but I had 2 different girls help me choose what to get. I wanted every shake on the board. In part due to the embarrassment of the idea of walking to my car with 10 shakes, I chose the cookies and cream. as it was part of a combo coupon I had, I got the Patty melt with it. Both were really great. The shake was chunky, including the trade mark cherry that sits in every shake. The Patty Melt was golden brown from the butter toasted into it. It may not have been photogenic, but it hit the spot. Especially 'cause when I asked for extra pickles, they gave me a bunch. I sure it's not the best service every time, but this visit was great in every way. I just got so hungry writing this review I may have to stop back in there today! read more

This is a really awesome hamburger restaurant. The burgers are very good, the fires are think and crispy, and the milkshakes are fantastic. There are too many different varieties to list here, but I simply order the double cheeseburger, fries, and a Diet Coke. I like the retro theme, the service is always excellent and they even have a drive thru. Try the fresh chocolate cookies if they are coming out of the oven. I recently dined in at this Steak N Shake because I had a taste for steak burger that I haven't had in a while. When I was first seated at a table the table still had crumbs all over it so I had to ask the one of the workers to please clean off the table for me. I went to the restroom and that wasn't clean either. It's so sad that I noticfe a lot of Steak N Shake restaurants are not keeping up with the over cleanliness of their restaurants they are letting it go down. My food was really good and I like that Steak N Shake does the 4 for 4 meal deal. I also order their Milkshake which is a pricey but it was very good. My food also came out pretty quick. I was overall satisfied with my meal as well as my family was too. Their staff can be more friendly and welcoming. They wasn't nasty but they all appeared as they didn't want to be there. Thought of going in with my wife for a sit down lunch, the burgers are great and those crispy fries with real ice cream shakes made it pleasant and delicious. Until yesterday. I used a credit card, didn't pay attention to the receipt except for an order number which I was told I needed to pick up the order. So I sit. A long time and my number is called. I took my cane and went to get it. There were two of everything and one of me! I checked and my receipt was over $20 bucks. Now I stand and wait, finally was told it was refunded. So i look at my rapidly cooling food and my soda cup is empty. I fill it look for a cap and limp back to a table. Bottom line it's like a do it yourself picnic. Salt packs, squeeze ketchup packs. Who doesn't love a tasty, quick & traditional burger . When you have a limited amount of time and are craving something juicy; this is a good bet. So many options of burgers and I love their meals under $4. Now, don't even get me started on the milk shakes.... yum I cold go simply here for one of them anytime of the day. Not to mention they are open 24hrs! The drive Thur is a great choice when you are in a rush or are super hungry. But, sitting down inside is completely different. This is my first time at a Steak 'n Shake and if all of them are like this, they're fine by me. I'm a bit of a food snob being raised in the food industry myself and haven eaten my way around the world. Not to mention, I don't really like hamburgers but when I get one, it ought to be worth the price and I've seen way too many mediocre 15 dollar burgers in my short lifetime. four dollars For a double steak cheeseburger with fries, I was wondering what I could possibly be contending with. But screw it, just order it to find out as break my SnS cherry. Very decent for a 4 dollar burger- nice sear and fresh toppings. The burger is a bit on the bland side like most chain restaurant burgers but as I said above, for four dollars this a decent tasting, decently sized burger. I switched out regular fries for chili cheese fries (a dollar more) for a whopping 5 dollar entree. Extra sides are only 1.25 ea (I got a side salad because road trips leave you vegetable deficit.) The chili is the weakest contender being a bland beef grease tasting chili with beans rather than something rich and flavorful; but hey, we can't all be winners. Not to mention you get courteous table service and he food comes out promptly. My whole check, with table service is 6.68. If I didn't goof with the chili cheese addition, would have been 5.61. Mar 12, 2019 Let me start by saying that I was a Manager at the Delray location in 2007 and I am absolutely disgusted at the way that this store has declined. I walked in the store just a little after 6am this morning to use the restroom and order food. There was a Caucasian gentleman, an African American female and Sonel our old prep guy in booths 11, 12 and 40 (I have photo proof). Sonel and the female employee were sleeping and the other gentlemen who was probably the opening server was playing on his phone. I stood at the register for several minutes before the female worker woke up to assist me. She walks up to the grill without washing her hands and prepares to make my order. I thought that there was no way that a manager could have been on premise since generally openings were 8-6. However, I saw a heavy set female dressed as a manager with a black blouse and grey pants. She walked to the front of the house to check the reach in adjacent to the grill and did not have the courtesy to acknowledge that there was a customer at the register. After opening a store for this company in Coral Springs and managing 3 locations in 6 years with the company, this is the worse I have seen a unit since the West Palm store before it was closed. read more

I'm going to start this review of with a bold and unexpected statement. I've been to 3 diffferent Steak N' Shakes' in 3 different states. My home state, Texas, Virginia, and this one, in Florida. This was definitely the best one, BY FAR. Firstly, our server was an angel named Regina and her halo was showing. Regina patiently waited for me to complete my order. The food was made fast, and only took about 15 minutes. Then, when I got my order, it was on point to a crisp, and was exactly what I ordered. But, the most important part, the food, was what struck the homerun for me. When I took a bite of the chicken tenders I ordered, I knew that the food was made with love right away, and it also tasted like it came right out of the oven. My favorite semi-fast food. Stopped on my way home from a trip and was famished. Everyone smiles and greets you like an old friend. It was cold out so I requested a seat at a sunny window and it was warm and wonderful. Classic cheese burger and seasoned fries - very good. Ordered take out of same plus house salad and chili. Amazed at three meals & 2 ice teas costing less than $18.00!!! My regular SnS is Woodstock GA where my 'Grands' & I have always enjoyed Happy Hours. Placed an order for 8 Burgers. Picked up the order Only realizing they gave me Fries only. Go back Pick up the rest of the order. Get back to house only finding out non of the burgers had any lettuce, tomato, or mayo. Basically just bread and meat. Worse place ever. read more
