My favorite semi-fast food. Stopped on my way home from a trip and was famished. Everyone smiles and greets you like an old friend. It was cold out so I requested a seat at a sunny window and it was warm and wonderful. Classic cheese burger and seasoned fries - very good. Ordered take out of same plus house salad and chili. Amazed at three meals & 2 ice teas costing less than $18.00!!! My regular SnS is Woodstock GA where my 'Grands' & I have always enjoyed Happy Hours. Which ever one I go to the food is consistently good - and the staffs are always welcoming. This restaurant was also very nice and I appreciated the good service. read more

Placed an order for 8 Burgers. Picked up the order Only realizing they gave me Fries only. Go back Pick up the rest of the order. Get back to house only finding out non of the burgers had any lettuce, tomato, or mayo. Basically just bread and meat. Worse place ever. read more

This is the kind of place where spotlessness will be enjoyed by the dine in customers..it borders on stark but as a burger joint goes it is very good. Meat and milk shakes were notable in a good way. Service was very good from the young staff..two gaming vendors and some capsule machines complete this review.. Place did not disappoint..good for hungry kids. read more

I fsking love Steak 'n Shake. Hardcore. So hardcore that my brother and I sort of snuck here in lieu of having a fairly nice dinner with my grandfather. And it was *totally* worth it. Living in New York is awesome, except for the part that the closest Steak 'n Shake is in Ohio or something. And while I usually dislike chain restaurants, in this case, I was so happy to get exactly what I wanted. Well, pretty much what I wanted... I got a double steakburger, no cheese, with that mustard/relish mix on it, onions, lettuce and extra pickles, fries and an orange freeze. They got the order perfect. So disappointed. I haven't eaten here for years and was not what I remembered! The drive thru was horrible. I made a simple order of grilled cheese, fries, and a shake. The grilled cheese was so greasy, it went thru the paper immediately. Soggy. Gross. The fries. I order with no salt because I'm not into salty fries and it usually results in a fresh batch. They were not even warm. The banana shake was the only item I enjoyed. It was freshly made and met expectations. I really think they need to look into their quality at this location. The employees should look in the bag and say, would I enjoy this? If it's no, start over. There are tons of choices in the area, so they shouldn't mess around. read more

I went there earlier this week. They were definitely not on their "A" game. There was a dead fly on our table, a human hair in my son's milk, my orange juice glass had something sticky on the bottom and many of the tables were not cleaned. Just chose steak n shake over McDonalds bc I love frisco sauce. While ordering I said extra sides of frisco sauce which got misconstrued as putting extra on my burger which is fine I understand. I went inside so get the side of Frisco that I wanted and the girl with dreads insisted that I ordered it only on my burger which is fine. But to go behind the counter and act after I apologized like I'm some sort of monster bc I came back in for the only thing that makes me come to this place in the first place is pretentious and un necessary. EPIC FAIL : Zero stars... Everyone loves Steak 'n Shake, right? No more visits to any restaurant owned or operated by Biglari Holdings... This is a corporate store, not a franchise. They should be ashamed of themselves. Stopped in the drive thru after a long flight home. It was 12:30 am when I hit the drive thru and placed the order with Ryan. Simple order for me and my guests. A double with fries, a footlong dog and three milkshakes... One snickers, one chocolate with banana and one Nutella. Those are supposed to be their signature items. At 1 am still in the drive thru line, Ryan asked me to drive forward and wait. He'd bring out the rest of the order... At 1:10 I decided that my car had been idling long enough, so I pulled in front of the store and went in... Ryan tells me "No manager on duty" and the staff said there was no one to make the milkshakes. He apologized several times and came back with two shakes. A strawberry and something else. They were for another order because the woman came in and complained that she got the wrong shakes. At 1:20 am I walked out of the door, intending to call corporate in the morning. As I was walking back to my car, Ryan came out with the milkshakes that had been sitting as they were melted and runny... I contacted corporate the following morning and was provided case #1026564 and was told that I would receive a call back within 1-2 business days. Nope. No call back. So, another call to corporate. This time to their main office and not the corporate complaint number. Was patched to the area district managers cell, who sent it to voicemail. Within a minute of leaving a message, Tony from the store called me to offer a replacement meal. Thanks but no thanks. B asked for a credit to my cc... Will never stop there again. This place had horrible service as soon as we walked in the waitress was obvnoxious from the start. didn't ask or give us a drink, no napkins and ate our food thn was handed extra toppings at the end when food was already eaten. The men's bathroom was very dirty and so were the walls tht the table was up against. Server seemed like she wasn't happy to b there at all. We were seated promptly to a clean table, a polite young man introduced himself and promptly took our drink order. A great place and what a great price for what you get. The burgers are absolutely fresh and delicious and their shakes huge and equally delicious. We got awesome service every time and on recent trip came here 3 times and was here once before. The food comes fast. My wife ordered some incredible cheesy creation burger just dripping with cheese and I went for doubles and triples. The interior is clean and the staff friendly and right on you so you dont lose any time. This is the best fast food place we have ever been to and kudos to a great staff and the big guy doing all the cooking. read more

We've been here enough times cause the food is good. For some reason they always seem short staffed and your shakes may make it to your table before the food does. Every time I order their chili ~ it's never hot and needs to be zapped in the microwave. You'd think management would eventually get it right but, they have not ! My boyfriend takes me here every year for our anniversary. The chili and cottage cheese appetizers always Devine and are promptly delivered by the maitre'd. The skinny fries and Frisco melts are always cooked to complete perfection by the chef. And the milkshakes are as close to heaven on earth as I will ever get. Visited the other day to enjoy one of my favorites. Have not been to the Delray store in a while and was sad to see that it was FREEZING--not just cool or cold, but icy. Result: my food was ice cold in less than 3 minutes! Service was perfect as usual, but the whole place seemed like it needed a serious, professional cleaning, top to bottom. The restroom was clean, but had a terrible odor. The table was a bit dirty...the food was fine if a little more greasy than last time, but not a big deal. I suggest closing and bringing in a crew of 10 professionals for one night and making the inside like new again, floor to ceiling, saving a few dollars by raising the A/C temp a bit (maybe you can adjust it for the grill area so it is colder there), and bringing back the way it felt to go to one of my favorite places. read more

There are only indoor seats @ bar stool/counter, booths & tables; drive through service for convenience; clean diner & restrooms; reward program available via phone app. We were greeted & welcomed immediately upon arrival; offered seats @ booths; provided breakfast & lunch menus per our requests; ordered hot tea; triple deck hamburger with regular fries; classic breakfast style served with sunny side up eggs; choice of sausage patty or bacons; shred potatoes or potatoes dollar coins & biscuit. Issues: we ordered NO onions on triple deck hamburger, but received onions on it; sausage patty was dry; ordered chocolate chip cookie dough milkshake, but we were informed that NO steak & shake serves chocolate chip cookie dough milkshake. We ordered for such milkshake because it was listed on their list of milkshakes menu. No big deal: we just removed onions off the burger; ate sausage patty anyway; ordered Butterfinger milkshake instead. Our server was attentive, prompt & courteous; provided our receipt. Greasy burgers but great after late night drinking. The super thin fries are good with the melted cheese. I like that they have thousand island dressing for the burgers. They do take forever to make the food and I think the people who work there hate their jobs. You order through the drive thru and pay, then they make you drive up and wait for them to bring you the food which takes about 10 minutes when you are the only customer. Their shakes are pretty good though. You can pick 2 flavors and they will put each flavor on each side of the cup without mixing them all up. Too bad they're like 1,000 calories and 125g of carb! It doesn't get much worse than this. I ordered the bacon lovers burger and the bacon was like shoe leather, chewy and no taste. The waitress came over and asked us how the food was, I told her the bacon is horrible and she,asked if it was chewy. I guess it is pretty obvious I wasn't the only person to complain. She said sorry and walked away and made sure to still charge me for this inedible bacon. My girlfriend had a burger and soup. The manager asked her how the soup was and was told the soup was way too salty. The managers response, you should have ordered the chili and walked away. My girlfriend was taking pictures and this same manager told her we were not allowed to take pictures. I told the manager to try and stop us. This place really does not have any idea on how to work efficiently. I drive thru the drive Thu at 2030 and have to wait 20 min. to get my order. Not only did I have to wait I get all the way back to my hotel and after explaining to the person taking my order NO CHEESE! I get CHEESE on my burger. I can not eat CHEESE so I was not driving 15 min back to get another but based on this 1 st time visit I will not return. FYI to the mgr/owner I eat out everyday 3 times a day for th next 90 days but I will not be returning based on customer service and lack of responsibility if the person/people taking your order. read more

Normally, I get a drive-in grilled chicken sandwich, love the service and quality of food, and would have previously ranked Steak & Shake with a 3-star (couldn't give them a 4-star because of their lack of interest in healthy menu options). Today, I tried the new fish sandwich which squashed a good portion of the brand value that I have for Steak & Shake. The fish batter left a bitter aftertaste, and most of the sandwich was fried batter with overcooked clumpy fish. Awful! Was in the mood for a milkshake so stopped at a Steak and Shake for the first (and last) time. The banana and strawberry shake was thin and tasteless. The bananas were not even blended and were in chunks. Unacceptable! T h e 'Frisco Burger' consisted of two thin burger patties plopped in the middle of two barely toasted pieces of white bread. As fast food goes S&S is pretty good, but it is still prepackaged burgers made as cheaply and quickly as possible. I'm not a fast food lover but I've eaten here with people who are.
