We ordered our food a head of time online. The app said it would be done by 8:30 but wasn't done so we have to wait an extra 20 minutes to get our food. My husband asked for ranch before he left but they forgot about hiM so he walked out. When we were driving home we realized we only received one fry (and we ordered two). Have been to many Steak and Shakes and this location today was terrible! Ordered and waitress came back in 5 minutes to tell us they were out of bacon. Reordered and she then returned in a few minutes to say "false alarm". She then returned a few moments later to say they were out of bananas for the milkshake. Love it! Steak n Shakes are something I miss from my midwest days and it was great to finally go back to one. Ya know, I used to not be a fan but then I figured out the secret: its not a restaurant, its a munchies place. So if you go for a good burger, you'll probably be disappointed like I was my first time. If you go for an amazing shake and some chili cheese fries like this visit, late at night, you'll leave smiling. Also, its a diner, not an upscale downtown gastropub. Just went to this Steak N Shake and my husband and I usually get great service. Tonight was a complete waste of gas and my breath. Pulled up to the drive thru and the teller immediately tell us to wait a moment. 2 minutes later, she tells us to wait another moment. After another 2 minutes she says, Whenever you're ready. I proceed to order, and asked for a fruit punch, she mockingly said something to me and then I repeated what she said. I asked her what that meant and she said we don't have that. I then told her that there are no soda option available on the screen and what did she have. She then proceeded to tell me that I should ask before ordering. By far the worst meal out in 20 years! Service was horribly slow out waitress couldn't remember what we ordered, even after writing it down. A glass of water took 15 min. My grilled cheese burger came out wrong and had to be sent back to be fixed. When I did finally get my meal (22 min after my boyfriend got his) the pickles were soggy odd tasting- I took them off instead of asking to have it corrected again. Steak & Shake on Overton Ridge has some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. Arrived at 12:57 PM on Saturday, March 31st. Order placed at 1:05 PM. At 1:15 server came and stated that the computer crashed and ours was the only order missing. Said order would be out in 6 minutes. 1:30 PM asked to see a manager. No manager came but a woman yelled across restaurant that our order was in window. I once again requested to see a manager. Same woman stated that she was the manager and was discounting our order. I told her it should be free. At 1:40 PM we walked out. Not the first time that we have had really bad service but it is the last time. Will never return. read more

Having not had Steak N Shake since I used to live in Florida (about 6 years prior) I was excited to see one when I moved here to Fort Worth. My first experience there was a positive one, just went to the drive through on a whim and had a double steak burger and some fries and was happy to know that memories of the restaurant were just the same as they were so many years before. Since then I've visited about 4-5 times more, 2 of them sitting inside. The inside experiences weren't exactly terrible but I'm a stickler for table side service and yes I know it's just a fast food joint but still, I wasn't impressed. I remember being greeted and seated and immediately noticing crumbs on my seat. Not a huge deal but I don't understand how hard it is to pass a wet rag across a booth when you're done cleaning off the table. My friends and I ordered and after a longer than comfortable wait our food came out and one of my companions orders came out completely wrong. She ate it anyway and of course our waitress apologized. The other times were through the drive through and after I got home and opened the back I found the burger to be a complete mess. It seemed as if they threw the bag around to each other before handing it to me and I mean, it tasted fine but boy, what a mess. The most recent time I went there I got home to realize my fries were all burnt. I swear they scooped my fries from the bin of leftovers of the days burnt fry reject pile. So all-in-all I won't be going back here anymore. I've had worse food by far but the inconsistencies in service and quality are more than I want to deal with. read more
