The menu is so hilarious! The gentleman at the counter was very nice and helpful and nice. Definitely a college kid place but us as adults we were at least down with the vibe. Now back to the food, it's a creative genius menu. You can get cheesesteaks with chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks inside of it. It's insane. Environment is pretty chill, spacey, and relaxed. Since it was my first time here, I ordered 3 separate " fat sandwich's" ( half version) to try out what they had and see what I like. FYI, and half version of their sandwiches is a big enough portion for 1 person, and comes as a whole sandwich. If you didn't know, fat shack serves the greasiest most unhealthy food. That is by design so already this restaurant has a very niche group of people they cater towards. Unfortunately I am not in that group. Everything I had besides the fried Oreos was gross. I think it's hard to mess up fried Oreos. The Charlies Philly cheesesteak place in the mall was significantly better quality than the low/mid grade Philly cheesesteak they tried to serve me. I have been coming to the Fat Shack at least once a month since I work at Baylor. Well, they have just lost me as a customer, and I'm sure many other nurses when I tell them what happened. I had a birthday coupon and went in tonight to use it. They had NO customers, the girl that would have taken my order said that my coupon expired yesterday, but she was sure it would be okay, but she had to ask a manager. A guy came out and told me it was expired and they would not honor it. Dude! I was ready to place at least a $100 order, you have no customers, and you wouldn't honor a $10 off coupon? Let me start off with: how great is it to get a taste of state fair any day of the week? They serve HUGE stuffed sandwiches with fillings like cheesesteak, onion rings, french fries, and cheese sticks. The sandwich is paired with a choice of sauce. Typically they have a open sauce bar when you dine in but right now they charge for to go since the pandemic is happening. We got the fat shack (the sandwich they're known for) and fried cheesecake which cost us about $18 which is a bit pricey. Our sandwich was missing the cheesesteak component which was the reason we bought the fat shack which is a bit pricier. We were disappointed about that but service was good. We ordered online and picked up during the time frame they gave. The taste was ok. I wasnt wowed but it could be my personal taste where I rather have chicken fingers and french fries rather a sandwich with a 1 of each filling. The dessert was good, super sweet but nice variety like fried twinkie, fried oreos and fried cookies. Overall the price is ok. Taste was average. But variety is definitely the wow factor. I couldn't choose so I got all three. That's ONE sandwich and that is all the ingredients inside that ONE sandwich. It was INTENSE. I was full after a few bites. It's everything and the sink with These people. Absolutely an indulgence in the moment, but tasted horrible reheated. It's totally something you can share but I wouldn't take leftovers home unless I ate it that day. So don't get a bigger size thinking it's good for two meals. Just enjoy it when it's fresh. The girl at the register was so sweet and recommended a few things since I had never been there. I got the small sandwich and the word "small" doesn't describe this sandwich! It was so good at first I was kind worried how the ranch would taste with the cheese sauce, however I was pleasantly surprised. The fried pickles are amazeballs! They aren't your traditional fried pickles. They're not sliced, they are pickle spears. Really fresh and that batter is perfectly crispy. I thought I would die by the time the cheesecake bites came because have had so much already. However, I made room. So glad I did. I tried them with both the chocolate and strawberry sauce. The strawberry is my choice. They have a sauce bar! Try the Golden BBQ Sauce! The booths there are perfect. They aren't like most places where the tables are bolted to the ground. And his excuse is they have soooooo many locations. But there is only about 27 locations in the U.S? When I have a problem with any other company or food chain they are quick to get on it... why? You may ask? Because they care about the customers and their experience at their restaurant and have operating teams that handle complaints nonstop that is literally their job, and if that check can't provide that they they probably shouldn't be open, and yet my review was "uncalled for" then wants to tell me that he can give me a $20 gift card for pick up when in the review I stated I lived in Grand Prairie and drove all the way to the other side of Fort Worth which is about a 30+ minute drive. Overall do not waste your money here do not waste your time or energy this is a terrible place to go and spend your money at. And to make matters worse not only does the staff in the actual restaurant not care, all the head men and women over seeking those restaurants are not doing anything about it either.
