They serve great food! It always fills me up! And the servers are very nice!! And their is usually no problem with the parking. And their are multiple entrances to get into the parking area. And they have stools at the front!!! You don't see that at every restaurant!!! And if you have the right angle you can see them work, they are very skilled at what they do. And they have the Drive Thru which is very helpful for a quick meal on the go, and they clean and maintain the restaurant every morning and night! So it is very clean! I am no food critic but if I was, I would say the good here is better than most restaurants! And the entrance into the restaurant is awesome! They even have that measure tape, so you can see how tall you are! And they have those claw machines, I tested it out, and they aren't messed with, they work perfectly!! Ah Steak 'n Shake... I don't think I've had any more problems with customer service and experience than here. Look I'm out on a date after my girlfriends bachelorette and we decided to stop at Steak n Shake. We were seated and doing great and then our server got to us, our server got our order wrong and seemed to get everything else incorrect on other tables as well. Anyways we finished eating and went up to pay and note that I am a high school student on a date, I'm currently in the process of looking for a job and money is VERY tight especially with prom coming up and being completely broke. Anyway we walk up to the counter to pay and I pay for my food as I should. Problem is I didn't have any money left for even a small tip. This lady (the same person who took our orders is behind the counter and at the register) has the audacity to cause a scene and embarrass my girlfriend and I in-front of all of the other customers and make me explain why I couldn't tip her. Note this is a fast food restaurant and our service was terrible. Our visit at Steak 'n Shake ruined our night. read more

Good food but the workers ( in the drive thru) always seem annoyed that you're taking their time and I have yet to have an order given to me that doesn't leave much to be desired concerning accuracy. Steak n' Shake has good food but the team, at least in the drive thru, leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth. read more

TERRIBLE, terrible, terrible... at first it started off well with us receiving our meal quite fast, but once we were done and waiting on our milkshakes our waitress came over 3 times and asked if we had gotten our shakes yet and clearly we had not but she never did anything about it... needless to say it took well over an hour for us to receive our shake and that was as we were walking out the door. The one place you get to wait 40 minutes for the WRONG milkshake... came here after a long day, wanting to relax and get my milkshake on. What a mess! Mgr was sending some wait staff home while we waited over 15 minutes to place our order! When it came out the order was wrong. The mgr never apologized, just said it would take him "17 minutes" to fix it. No refills offered, chocolate milk not mixed, had to go find silverware to eat! NEVER dine at this location! read more

Let me start off by saying that I am from Indiana where Steak n' Shake originated, so I know how their business is ran and what they expect. THIS IS NOT IT!! I've given this location 3 chances and each time it worsened, the last time I had to walk out. The service is horrible, the people move slow, they are always understaffed, the food is not cooked properly, and I could go on and on. Each time I went there was a mixture of races working, so I could not say that it was racial discrimination like I read in a previous post. It's just bad. So bad that I have contacted their corporate office to let them know. I can't see them being there too much longer, a business cannot thrive with that type of service and poor food. Just horrible!! Go to Mooyah or Kenny's or Liberty Burger, anywhere but here, you'll thank me later. read more

Been there before and everything was fine, but last night, 4/21/18 we sat for 25 minutes after being seated with menus with no workers acknowledging us, not even to give us water. I finally had to get up and ask someone who was waiting on our section. The pregnant blonde waitress said, "not me," and the other waiter said, "not me" we've worked over our shift's time so the manager is coming out to wait tables. I went back to our table and waited another 10 minutes, watching the "manager" wait on tables who were seated after us. I finally asked the "manager, Kaylor Jones" if she was going to wait on us and she said we were next. She never did come to our table, instead another server appeared from somewhere and took our order. Once items were dropped off, we never saw him again. We had no silverware, no napkins, no ketchup (all of which I literally had to go find at the wait station myself). No one ever came to check on us or refill my coffee. What a terrible experience. When I expressed my concerns to the "manager" when paying she didn't bat an eye, never changed her expression, never apologized. She couldn't have cared less AND one of the servers who said "not me" was still there standing at the register chatting it up with the manager... he was too busy to do his job and wait on tables, but not too busy to do that. We will NEVER visit this establishment again. read more

the customer service is AWFUL. The young lady working drive through was horrible to us, to the point that we finally just drove off. I called the manager to get her name and he refused to give it. Out of all the Steak n Shakes that I have been to this one is the worst. The table they sat us at was dirty, their water was also dirty, the sweet tea was not sweet, the music skipped as if it was a scratched CD, and the bathrooms were filthy. It's a cute burger joint that is very busy during lunch. I walked in and didn't know if I should just sit or wait to be seated. Since it is a burger joint,and after I waited in front for a few minutes, I decided to seat myself. It took a while for a waitress, who was very flustered and apologetic, to come by and take my order...fries, Wisconsin burger and diet coke. The food came out fairly quickly and was very good. The server did not come back or give me my bill, I had wanted more diet coke and a shake to go for my son but wound up with neither...I actually contemplated walking out without paying. Instead, I went to the front cash register to tell them I didn't get my bill and a cheerful young lady said that's alright I can pull you up right here and she did without asking me what I had to eat or where I sat, impressive! Then she asked if I would like a diet coke to go and right there I changed my opinion from I'm never going back to I'll be back! read more

The only reason I am rating this high is because of how great the food tastes. I do not blame the wait staff at all for the poor service we received (and by wait staff I mean the one waitress who had to take care of all the tables on a Sunday afternoon when the rush began). I blame the management, there is no reason for only having one waitress to take care of every person that was there today. This isn't the first time we've been to this establishment, we come here often because once we actually receive our food it tastes so great and it's affordable. Every time we come there is only one person waiting tables and a lot hanging out in the back for the drive through (which is also very slow). My hopes in writing this is that management will see it and make some changes. Service is slow and because there is only one person to wait tables, orders regularly have been messed up for us. I will continue to go because of the cheap and great tasting food but I do hope that they make changes soon in order to provide faster and more reliable service. read more

I read the other reviews and wanted to share my experience, which was great!! My server was absolutely precious, she had a GREAT attitude and we watched her serve other tables as well and she had the same sweet smile at all of them! The food was fresh and actually really good! We got shakes too and they were amazing, real chunks of cake and it was delicious! The manager there, Katie, was so sweet and came by to make sure everything was great, and it was. I was totally impressed and surprised after reading the other reviews, all I can say is everyone can have a bad day! I read the review about the spigot and frankly I thought it was hilarious, I worked at Chuck E Cheese as a kid and we had the same thing happen and luckily the customer thought it was funny too. Just happens sometimes, doesn't mean the place is dirty! Anyway I thought everyone was precious especially our server and the manager. Thanks guys keep it up!! read more

So, my family and I love the food here... the garlic burger and chicken strips are wonderful and their shakes are all great. They are very well priced with the kids eat free on weekends (one per $8 spent) and their happy hour specials. However, good luck getting to try the food. We have tried 6 times in the last few months. One of the times we waited about 10 minutes to get seated when only about a third of the restaurant was full and then waited another 20 minutes at the table for someone to come by and take an order or at least acknowledge us before we gave up and left hungry. Twice we tried to go and were greeted with a hand written sign on the front doors stating the dining area was closed but the drive thru was open. However, when we drove around there was a sign on the drive thru window stating it was closed too.... The few other times we drove up only to see a similar sign but didn't try the drive thru. Most of the times they were closed were sundays. Super disappointing. Also, as other people have posted, when you do get service it is spotty. For example, we stopped ordering anything but water because we 95% of the time we didn't ever get a refill. Also, one of my kids hates fries (I know weird, right?) so we ask for apple sauce instead (one of the listed options for a side), every single time in the past 2 years he has ordered this it has come out with fries and no applesauce. I ask for the applesauce I ordered and if we are lucky we will get it eventually usually after lots of whining and everyone else finishing all of their food. read more
