Came here to this location on 7/8/19 at 2:05 A.M. whoever was on duty was asleep in the store and was not servicing the window. I drove around for 15mins, knocked on the windows and still no response. Might as well stop advertising as 24 hours if your employees are going to get paid to sleep on the job.... read more

First when we arrived we were looked at by four different servers. All of which would look away the minute we caught them looking at them. When we were finally sat it took 10 minutes nearly for someone to even bring us a drink. After that I wasn't even able to finish my order before she went to my friend. We then waited nearly 30 minutes for food. Didn't get napkins or silverware from her til after a few minutes she brought one person silverware then she asked if I needed it too. I replied yes and she retrieved it. Well she didn't check on us til our food was nearly gone. Refills were only offered at the end of our mea and we didn't get them til both of us were done with our food. I frequent this location often. My regular server is typically awesome. This time I had Tkaia and I'm going to say. She was terrible. I myself have worked in the restaurant industry. She has no personality. She wasn't attentive to her guests. Sat in the drive thru tonight for more than 30 minutes. 1. If you can't get the orders out in a timely manner quit taking them until you can. 2. After the long wait the burgers were ice cold. So this means they were finished way ahead when I was allowed to pay. 3. Don't hand out cold burgers. Find a way to get them to the customer when they are warm. 4. To be completely honest, no matter which Steak and Shake we go to, service will always be really blah...but at least the burgers are cheap. The menu is simple, filled with mostly burgers and milkshakes with some chili dishes and salads or chicken dishes. The fries are a little too thin and small for my liking but with the price and flavor customization options available, I'm not going to complain. Seating consists of booths and tables. Be sure to be specific as to where you want to sit; booths are not the best if you have big guys eating with you. Amazing burger ! I wanted to give a five star instead end up in two ! On Saturday March 20th around 2pm . We ordered 5 burgers , two different type ! When the manager ( lady ) handed me the bag I asked if two were marked , her cold reply was No . I asked how would we know which one are they , she replied in not rude & not a polite way that you have to open each to check those we don't mark them ! I was shocked to find that I have to touch others food flipped the bun to see which is what !!! I said you could've put them in two bags & her cold reply was " You have to ask for that " !!! First the management should train their Managers to implement the right & easy way for marking or bagging ! Also a manager should be polite & customer friendly . This is also a common sense food handling issue so that customers don't need to open or touch others food to find out , just mark with a black marker put a star sign or something! My wife and myself visited this location at approx. 4:15 in the morning. When we arrived there was only one table of customers. I ordered sweet tea, they had none. I ordered avocado burger, they had no avocado. I heard another customer ask for brownie shake, they had no brownies. I settled for coffee. Food took half hour to arrive. Refills on coffee never offered. Employees disappeared for a while. My wife felt sucky after eating food. No tables were bussed. When I went to pay I waited 20 minutes, giving me time to take attached photo of kitchen conditions. Instead of employees cleaning up mess, they were kicking it around while cooking. This location is very inconsistent. When they are on they are great. When they are off they are not. However, with the prices they charge it is a great value, especially on the "on" days. The service is also very hit or miss. Having said that, one of the day time floor managers adores my son so we always get excellent service when she or her husband are working. We actually went tonight and did not expect much but the service and the food were killer tonight! Great experience. I have to give this location 3 stars though due to inconsistency. I'm very mixed about this place. There's a waitress and a manager who work overnights who are absolutely FANTASTIC. Never received bad service from them even once, and they always like to hang out and talk when we eat there. However, when either of them aren't working, the service leans to the atrocious side. Whether you're in the drive-thru or inside, the service is slow and the staff is anywhere from rude to just inattentive. The food is pretty much what you expect from Steak n' Shake. Pretty consistently good, even when the service is bad. So there's that, at least. Overall, I couldn't really recommend the place, but I do still go there from time to time. read more

We went by to have breakfast which we found to have missed by less than 5 minutes. No flexibility at all on this so instead we decided to stay and have burgers. Ordered coffee which took about 10 minutes to get. Was told that the coffee pots were being bleached out from the breakfast service is why it took so long to get it. We were offered decaf which apparently was still available? Poor planning on the staff to choose 11:00 am to "bleach out" coffee pots and only have decaf available. Should have taken this as a sign to have went somewhere else. I ordered the sliders and then was asked which kind. The server wasn't able to clearly explain what that meant and after some confusion with her and still not having had my coffee, I settled on the Oktoberfest burger. Asked for it well done which it wasn't. The pretzel type bun was HUGE! and I'm not saying that in a good way. My guest had the Royale burger which comes with a fried egg on it so they are able to make "breakfast" items even after the 11:00 cut-off. My guest also ordered no fries but they were served on the plate so the server said she wasn't going to charge for them. Really? Because we didn't order fries with the Royale burger. The attention to detail went out the window on this visit. Isn't much else to complain or comment about. It's Steak n Shake and it is what it is. I am giving this location 2 stars, as there food can be good, but it is a hit or miss. We have noticed a change in service within the past 2 years. We are aware of a lot of changes that have recently taken place, including new ownership. Many of the good servers who once worked at this location have either been placed at other locations or have been fired. One of the newer servers, I really don't care for. One of the biggest mistakes she makes is always calling me 'Lady', which I feel insulted. I really don't care to be called 'Lady' by a server. It might work in her Country, but that doesn't fly here in the South. Another occasion, my husband and I had stopped in. It was late at night, but we wanted something quick to eat. I completely disliked my meal and when our server finally came back to the table, I informed him that I did not care for what I had ordered. He never offered to get me something different, or offer a refund for my meal. With all the changes this location has undergone, I am in no hurry to go back. Most days, you find the parking lot to be pretty empty. (It's called "Steak 'n Shake", not "Steak, THEN Shake".) -During the long wait, i saw a host seat a party at the table beside us, which had not been cleaned off from the previous guests. There were crumbs and bits of leftover food on the table. Instead of wiping it down, he used the edge of the menu to scrape it off onto the floor. Can't believe they have a passing health score..... Might be time for a surprise visit from the health inspector.... Our server stopped by 3 times. Once to take our order, once to bring burgers, and then (much later) to drop off the shakes and the check. Not once were we asked if everything was ok with our orders, if we needed anything...... not even to offer us napkins. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. First of all if I could put no stars I would. We wanted to get a quick bite to eat so we went here. The server sat us down and gave us our menu's. We waited and waited but the server never came, we went late so there was only one other customer. There was barely anyone in the restaurant and anyone in the drive thru. We got up and decided to go through the drive-thru. We still had to wait to order and we waited more to actually receive our order, keep in mind there was barely anyone and the employees were just standing around. We were still missing our drinks, fries and cookies. We eventually got all our stuff, but the whole ordeal took an hour. The food was at least good. read more

I wish there was negative stars to give this is by far the worst hamburger place and the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. Went through the drive-through ordered four hamburgers combo meals. we have been going to this location for years I always get a single burger I always get it with bacon and mushrooms on it. this time however it was a hot mess. the burger broke apart in three different places the bun tasted stale. all four burgers that I ordered looked terrible. when I called to complain the rude manager told me that I had to bring every single thing back in order to get a refund. she said that was their policy. never did she apologize, never did she offered to make a new one. So I packed the remainder of our lunch up put it back in the bag and drove back to the store where I went in and was met by that rude female manager who proceeded to to tell me that since I didn't bring everything back including the drinks that she was only going to partially refund my money. She takes my card and she leaves me standing at the counter for well over 10 close to 15 minutes then she comes back and acts like she done me a favor by telling me she's refunded all of my money I told her that was a wise thing to do and then she got nasty with me so as I walked out the door& I called her a fucking bitch. Fast forward the next morning the general manager calls me and he perceives to be even as equally nasty and ugly with me. he called me a racist he said I cussed the manager out which is absolutely false information. she was a protagonist she was aggressive and she was nasty to me. when I got fed up with her terrible customer service and as I walked out the door I called her an ugly name. never did he apologize never did she apologize. this is disgusting customer service behavior and when I asked him if he ever read steak 'n Shake's mission statement he proceeded to tell me that they don't follow steak 'n Shake's rules that they are a franchise business. I ordered a frisco burger tonight. I realized after i ate the cajun fries that there was a hair on the plate. I showed my server. He waas apologetic. He went to speak to the manager RICHARD. He REFUSED to come to our table and sent our server back with a free COOKIE. I've worked in restaurant industry my whole life. This stuff happens.
