Service here is absolutely horrible. This was my first time actually going inside this location, where I and another customer were completely ignored. I walked in, a man who appeared to have already eaten was waiting at the register. I waited in line behind him as the two servers passed us many times. The employees behind the counter looked at us and once again disregarded us. After a few mins of waiting, one employee yelled for someone to be at the front at register, however, everyone looked over and still nothing was said. Not even a "we'll be with you shorty". Unsure how long the man was waiting but he yelled "check please". He yelled it twice more (while I was still in the building), he was still ignored. I walked out. All I wanted was a shake after work, and I refuse to give a business with horrible customer service my money. I'll take the drive to a different establishment for a shake. Went there on Saturday 4/7/18. Sat at a window seat with my whole family. My son who is 2 yrs old pointed out the tiny roaches going in and out of the gap in the molding around the window. My other son started smashing them with the A1 steak sauce bottle. I told him to stop. I pointed out a roach to our waitress crawling across out table top. She just said "sorry". We have been to this location a couple of times and all of our experiences have been poor. The latest visit started with us walking into a near empty restaurant and still waiting over 20 minutes for the first person to even acknowledge that we were waiting to be helped. They sat us at the back of the restaurant near the bathrooms. Immediately there was this strong stench of vomit. We told each other we'd ask our waitress to move us because the smell was unbearable and we'd be unable to eat. Took another 26 minutes for our waitress to first appear. When we explained the situation, she became frustrated with us, grabbed our menus, took us to a table in the front, dropped the menus and walked away. There was no chance I was staying here to eat after almost an hour of complete incompetence. The food and service was acceptable; however my husband had to use the restroom and that's where it was disgusting. He came out and told me the cammodes were backed up and the handle was broken on one of them. This is unacceptable and breaches OSHA (Occupational Safety Hazard Association). My husband commented this incident to the restaurant manager and she told him to put paper towels down and she would clean when she has the time. The service was horrible, I mean horrendous and very unacceptable. No where NEAR acceptable. This particular Steak 'n Shake has really good food, but they really need to improve the customer service and management. My family and I waited by the door for almost 6 minutes before anyone greeted us. The manager was watching from the side and continued to drink her coffee, mind you there were about 7 dirty tables with no one sitting. I myself have been part of the hospitality business for years, so I tend to be very understanding, but this was a rather unpleasant experience. Our server was not friendly at all, she actually looked kind of miserable. We were never offered refills, sauces and we were never given eating utensils. I really want to give this place more stars, I really do. The food is always delicious. I mean I keep coming back strictly because of the food. Their Frisco Melt has a place in my heart, and I love that you can add flavors like vanilla to your soft drinks. The MAJOR problem I have with this location is the service. I have been here close to ten times, but the service absolutely kills me. Expect long waits, to stand there awkwardly waiting to be seated, and another wait just to see who your server is. I often feel ignored here, but alas, their food and milkshakes are so good. I recommend placing your entire food order when the server takes your drink order to avoid waiting longer. read more

Terrible service! I love the chain and keep coming back because of the food but I just wish the service and time would improve. We came to the drive-through and waited so long that we decided to go inside. The inside it said 24 hours so we saw the waitress very tired I was falling asleep at the counter. She told us to sit anywhere we like so we pick the least dirtiest table mind you it was still dirty. After a couple minutes of sitting down she came up and said sorry we have to close inside and only the drive-through is open understaffing. This seems like a lie because we were the only ones in there and she was the only waitress too overwhelming. All in all we felt like we were being lied to and just pushed out because they didn't want to do their job. I just left this location after placing on app order for pick up. I placed the order at 1:40 pm, the app said 11-16 minutes. At 2:08 when my food was not ready I asked where my order was, they said they were making it. I continue to watch them and they pushed every drive-thru order out - still not making my food. They only had one burger ready - pushed my bag to the side with the fries waiting on the 2nd burger. When they hand me the bag , they don't have the shake or drink ready. As I wait for that I realize the fries are cold! I tell them I want new ones, and I wait.... I finally take order to the car and the first burger that sat there for 20 minutes was made wrong - no bacon! I go back in, they ask for my receipt and insist it was a double bacon cheese - they were wrong and I wait again. They give me the burger and when I get to the car it's wrong again - this time no cheese! My daughter had to go to work so I couldn't return! It is now 2:37 pm!!! The entire time the manager hid in the back ignoring the issue! THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE STEAK-N-SHAKE! They should either close it or restaff the entire place! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!! My sister, boyfriend and i decided to eat here after shopping for black Friday. They were a lil busy so we were not expecting fast service, but waiting for a table for 3 for almost 15 minutes is insane. Then an additional 10 minutes for the server to get drink orders. My sister ordered the western burger, my boyfriend had a basic double cheese burger and i ordered a Frisco.. To break down our food.. Western is supposed to have onion straws. Hers had onion straw remants and chopped onion. The meat was mushy and undercooked. I asked for extra frisco sauce on the side, needless to say i only got the side of frisco, after waiting for almost an hour to get our food we just ate and left... 2 manager on duty bout 6 servers and kitchen staff. Truely seemed like managers could give two sh!+s about the service and standards of their restraunt and staff. About 12 years ago i used to work at this location and to see how much this place has gone down hill makes me sick. After our "meal" my sister informed me, while she attempted to use the restroom which was DISGUSTING.trash cans over flowing and filth all on the floors.. Visited this location late on 1/30/19. Waitress was very pleasant and seemed to conduct herself in a professional manner. I cannot say the same for the staff behind the counter. At one point, an employee was cursing at a volume that everyone in the restaurant could hear (not just one word but several within one sentence). My wife went to the restroom and would not use it because there was blood on the floor with excrement all over the toilet seat. Needless to say we were very concerned about the quality of the food with the many signs of mismanagement of this unit. I just want to start off by saying I have no quarrel with the condition of my food or how I was treated, yet with how the staff was treated. The past couple times I've went I've had a great server, just to see her being yelled at by management for absolutely no reason, nor should a manager be disciplining staff in front of customers. I've been there a couple times to eat and a certain manager would treat the staff like dirt. I myself manage a restaurant, and the level of unprofessionalism is appalling when you're just trying to sit down for a meal, you can't help but notice something like that. I tried calling to make a complaint, but I was on hold for 40 minutes as I heard casual conversations in the background. The nice lady I spoke with I heard her say the manager name was Wadiya or something along those lines. I called back to get the corporate phone number and was placed on the table to wait yet again for the manager to once again ignore my phone call. My last visit to this place was about six months ago. I went there for lunch today and then remembered why I had not gone back there since then. The service was still lousy. Ordered the meal and an ice tea. It took the server, Kimberly, over ten minutes to bring the tea. Then it took an additional twenty minutes to bring the food. In terms of appearance, overall, it's not bad. Once I got in to wait to be seated, it took 10 minutes. Then, as I sat down, i selected my meal expecting a waiter to come shortly. A couple minutes pass by and I thought, "Oh, maybe they're just busy." No big deal for me. Many minutes have passed and still no waiter. I raised my hand high up in the air and still no response.
