Burger and fries all different ways, I ordered the Oktoberfest burger and they bought out the burger without the pretzel bun. That was a no go as the primarily reason I orderedl the particular burger was for the bun. I ordered a Garlic burger and it's was ok. They did issue a discount for the inconvenience. read more

I remember when this place used to have good food. Sadly, this seems to be a thing of the past. The cherry coke is great, but everything else is meh. Service is just awful.. The servers refuse to take tables in front of customers and they will literally walk by you like you don't exist.. Staff is mostly hanging around kitchen goofing off while customers are waiting for a clean fork or a side of sauce.. The restaurant is nowhere near full to capacity.. Only ten of the tables were full and one of them was the managers where she sat on her phone and ignored the fact that her staff is rude and not friendly to customers... Waited a while to be seated. Once seated waited for more than 20 mins and no one took our order. I told the manager that no one had gone to our table he said he would send someone right over. My first time at Steak and Shake and I possibly had the worse experience ever. I have patience which is why I stayed to sit and eat and I also wanted to see how the workers managed the resturant. The manager sincerely hates his job. He should not have the position as manager, he is extremely slow a d just let's the people standing in line waiting to be seated without acknowledging them. Poor workers are the ones that take their time to look at the people entering when they can because they are busy assisting customers. There are a handful of tables open and the manager walks pass the people waiting without saying a word. I believe this is not the right job for him. They need Undercover Boss in their restaurant or even a new, fast, welcoming, manager. read more

Edit- Stopped by this past Saturday and decided on a takeout order. It literally took them 30 minutes to give us our order. We ordered milkshakes too, and it was so melted by the time our burgers came out we had to complain and got two new ones for free!! Also, the bread on the burgers were sooooo soggy!! Whoever owns this particular establishment needs to retrain staff or something!! The only good thing about Steak n Shake is their prices! It's hard to pass up a meal under $4 that is made with real meat. Unfortunately, I hate the fries! But their milkshakes make up for those. This specific location is SLOW! I literally spent an hour in the drive through today; no apology or even acknowledgement as to why there was a hold up. My burger had a hard bun and the cup my milkshake came in was dirty (I asked for a jr size but got a regular.) I ate only half of my burger because I associated the hard bun with stale/old. Also, the female employees are always unprofessional. They behave as if they are at a get-together and not a place of business. I went here for the first time the other day when there was no line in the drive-thru. I got one of their regular burgers (think it was a #1) with all the fixings on it. It was soo juicy, cheesy, crunchy. It had all the right dimensions you want in your burger. And I got a dr. Pepper to wash it down with. I now understand why there's typically always a line there. Worst service ever! You've been warned! It takes 15-20 minutes to get a table, 30-45 minutes wait for someone to get your order and about an hour to an hour and a half to receive your order. I was in there last night about 11PM. There were maybe 20 people sitting and eating. 1 person ahead of me at order area. I only ordered 2 milk shakes to go. 20 minutes later STILL NOTHING. other customers came in and received there food and drinks and left. 1 man came in, talked with an employee behind the counter, she laughed, handed him a burger, fries, and a drink. I didnt see him pay for anything . he just thanked her and he left. I asked to see a manager. After a few minutes, a man names Angel Font came over. I told him I had placed and order for 2 shakes over 20 minutes ago and still had nothing. Other people had whole meals ordered and left since I came in. He told me this IS NOT FAST FOOD so you have to be patient. I told him 20 minutes was extreme and demanded my money back, which he did, I think. He did not want me to write down his name but told me if I wanted it faster I should have used the drive through. I told him I didnt see that sign anywhere and I was very disappointed. We had the worst service at this Steak 'n Shake. Waitress seated us then forgot about us. After waiting 12 minutes I asked the manager how long we had to wait. When I got back to my table a waitress was just arriving. I said why was everyone standing around talking when customers were waiting. She said there are only two of us working, which was a lie, two guys were also walking. She asked us for our drink order and walked away as I was telling her what we wanted. She never came back so I got the manager again. He took our order wrote everything down and kitchen forgot the mayo. We had to wait 15 minutes to get our burgers. The waitress who seated us brought our order. She slammed it down and quickly walked away. The worst service and very very rude workers. Good place to go with young children. They loved the food and especially the kid sized shakes. My BLT was very good. BUT the service is very, very slow. When they bring the orders they put your check on the table but if you want to add more food the wait was awful. Service not unlike the one in Hallandale which is actually worse. Went through the drive-thru on my way home from the mall tonight. The cashier at the drive-thru window asked me to park the car and wait for them to bring our food out. No big deal to me, but they are obviously trying improve their drive-thru performance metrics. Wish they would have at least served me food that was edible. When I got home, not even 10 minutes later, and sat down to eat, I was very disappointed. It's not like I was expecting a gourmet dinner, but the buns on the burgers were dried out and the crust was hardened. Don't trust their coupons! Had a $5.99 coupon for their Steak n Shake meal and my wife had a $3.99 meal, for a total of $9.98, $10.58 with our 6% tax. At the register, the total, with tax, was $11.21. Pre tax was 10.57, less the $3.99 for my wife's meal, the $5.99 coupon actually cost 6.58, plus tax. Arguing at the register got nowhere. Honestly it looks like I couldn't write a review without any stars but I will honestly give them a big fat "0" Never and I seriously mean never have I had this bad service in a fast food drive through line that I had to write about it! Firstly was waiting for 10 minutes before I got to the order window...was parked there for 12 minutes (yes I timed it) without a hello or squeak of acknowledgement. My husband and I assumed it was not working(since we said hello mire than 50 times with no exaggeration) and drive slightly passed it when we heard something sounding like a voice..my husband still continued to say hello from the short distance and still no one acknowledged us. We assumed it just was not working. We got up to the window after 10 minutes and the lady asked what did we order as if she took it and we explained that it was not working..this lady had the nerve to say they would not take our order and we needed to get back in line..after we explained our side again(not that pleasant) she simply closed the window and us and walked away. A few minutes later another associate walked up asking what was the problem restating what the last associate said and saying we need to move and get back in line..when we asked her name she willingly gave us (keisha) but to realize was impersonating the manager for who we asked for saying after we asked that she was not the manager and there is none. We were completely aggravated at this point and then a cook came to the window and actually mentioned what we we ordering and said she will make right now if we will come in to collect it. She honestly needs to be promoted to the manager since she is obviously much smarter than the rest.
