    Hazardous bathroom area

Two words: health department Most disgusting restaurant bathroom I've ever been in. I really hope that's not sewer water leaking on the ground behind the toilet

Fresh ground beef burgers cooked when ordered, employees who greet you when walking in, extremely clean dining room, and a pretty large $4 menu.. Why isn't this chain up in the Northeast?? I would love to have one of these close to home. I can only think of one chain where I live that gives this type of service. For a fast food restaurant, Steak and Shake left a great impression on me. Everyone in my car traveling through was very satisfied with what they ordered, and I was also happy with one of the workers who took a minute if her time to chat with my 5 year old and give her a cooks hat and a kids toy and coloring booklet. I never am upbeat about fast food places, but this one has me looking forward to stopping in again. The people in the area should be thankful to have this type of service and product that's provided.

They have great pancakes!!! Who knew?

March 8th, 2013 @ 10am When you do as many road trips as we do you have no choice but to lower your standards. When nature calls or the gas needle is so low it uses your voice navigation to say "get off at the next exit fool or your gonna be walking", then you can't really be too picky about where to eat. This is generally made worst when impatient hungry children are on board. Lucky for me this particular exit off I-75 has a lot of great choices. Unlucky for me is the fact that dad usually gets outvoted when it comes to road trip stops. It's very important for me to have the kids fill up so that we aren't stopping every two hour and this usually means going someplace of their choice. I really wanted to try the breakfast pancakes at Denny's near the exit since I hadn't been there in over a decade. So we passed Denny's and drove about a quarter mile further down the road to one of their favorite burger places. It was to my delight Steak n' Shake had a poster in the window advertising breakfast tacos and pancakes. I'm picky about pancakes and didn't want to get too excited, so I ordered a burger while my kids choose the all you can eat pancakes. ---------- Ironic huh? THEY wanted the burgers and I wanted the pancakes... which is how we wound up here!!! ---------- I figured I'd steal a sample of theirs and their would be no harm no foul if I didn't like them. Sadly, I use my children's plates as a way to create my own personal buffet... lol THE VERDICT Long story short, these pancakes surpassed my expectations for a fast food restaurant, which prompted me to thank the cooks. If this wasn't a fluke and they can remain consistent to the same quality I enjoyed today, they would rank as some of my favorites! The pancakes were fluffy, golden and had great flavor (similar to IHOP). I was happy that karma smiled on me... by making sure my children are happy, occasionally I get a bonus for myself! --------------- SIDE NOTE: The sausage and egg taco was also very good but the bean n' egg and the potato n' egg breakfast tacos were 'meh'. Each was .99 cents. Yelp100 [47]

We went here for New Year's Eve and EVERYTHING else was either closed or SUPER rude to us. We came here and had an Uber waiting so they made our food super quick and the server Ashley was INCREDIBLE. Will come back EVERY time I am in town.

So disgusting! The food was nasty and cold... went to take my little boy to the bathroom and there was trash everywhere even in the stalls. Not sure how they can pass the health inspection.

Wow, this place sucked. Service was incredibly slow. Bathrooms were gross. Hell, the bathroom stall door had a huge gap so I got to make eye contact with dudes as I was trying to poop. They were out of the kids menu activity packs apparently even though we saw other kids with them. They were out of Dr Pepper also. Still waiting on whether or not they still have burgers.

    Avoid!

Every dish we tried was delicious, and it's easily some of the best Ethiopian food I've had. That said, be prepared to take your time. The ordering and food preparation process is very slow, and during our visit the "servers" were literal children. We ended up spending close to two hours there, with most of that time waiting for the food to come out. If you're in a rush, this probably isn't the spot. But if you're willing to slow down and enjoy a relaxed, unhurried meal, the quality of the food makes the wait worthwhile. I'd absolutely come back, just with patience and no tight schedule.

I also added the cheesecake sambusa. Everything was outstanding. The watermelon fries were such a refreshing start. The beef tibs were deeply flavorful and tender. Each of the sides had such great flavor profiles! I first tried Ethiopian food about 12 years ago at a place in Portland, Oregon, and I've been wanting it again ever since. When I saw this restaurant open here in Valdosta, I was genuinely excited to finally have it again -- and now I wish I had gone sooner because I've clearly been missing out. Even as a pickup order, the service stood out the staff was personable and inviting. Everything was carefully packed, warm, and clearly made with care. And the cheesecake sambusa? Unreal, the perfect way to finish the meal. I can't wait to go back and make this a regular spot for my family and me.

So good! Delicious! Went there 3 times already, and all of my visits were amazing! Recommend 100%!…read moreLove to support local businesses, and service is always quick and amazing! Ambiance is nice too, as the seating outside provides a nice view!

Let me start with the good: this place looks like it knows what it's doing. The ambiance is simple,…read moretasteful, and well-designed--perfect for a cute dinner out. We were greeted with a smile the second we walked in, and our server was friendly and attentive the whole time. A+ for vibes and service. Now, the food... oof. We started with the appetizer special of the night, which, shockingly, was the best thing we had--and it was aggressively mid. Everything that followed? Two thumbs down. The peas I ordered as a side; I swear were marinated in red onion slivers for several decades. Even after picking out all the visible onion, (as shown in pictures) it still tasted like Shrek's bathwater. If I had ordered this on a first date, I would've just gone home to save us both the trauma of onion breath. There's no way a single person has ever eaten this dish and said, "Wow, that was delightful." I'd actually pay money to see the facial expressions of anyone taking a bite. My partner's mashed potatoes? So dry and dense I could've thrown them at a wall and they'd stick. Come back the next morning and they'd be holding up drywall. Not a single drop of moisture in sight. I asked for crushed red pepper for my flatbread (thinking maybe it could be saved). No - No pepper flakes. Apparently none of their flatbreads are allowed joy or spice. Even if they did have red pepper, I don't think it would've saved it. Best thing we had all night? My partner's chicken. And even that was dry. So, that says a lot. Final verdict: come here for a drink and a snack before going somewhere else for the actual meal. It's a great pregame spot, but if you're hungry-hungry, keep walking.
