    Marinated Cucumber Salad

We stopped by during their soft opening, and Steam Kung Fu Dumpling is already running like a well-oiled machine. Ordering is super convenient. You just scan the QR code at the table. The Vibe & Service Service here is exceptionally fast with an incredible turnaround time. Only one other family was finishing up when we were seated, and the moment they left, two staff members immediately jumped in to bus and sanitize the large table. The fresh, lemon-infused water was also a really thoughtful touch! Prices are fantastic, especially compared to other dumpling spots in the area. Mango Green Tea: Loved this! It's wonderfully tea-forward with a nice, subtle bitterness on the finish, balanced by a beautiful, floral mango flavor. Xiao Long Bao (Juicy Pork Dumplings): They delivered! You can actually see someone up front hand-folding the dumplings. They come bursting with flavor and are incredibly aromatic with a nice hint of ginger. The savory soup inside is so good that you don't even need soy sauce or vinegar; they stand completely on their own. Pan-Fried Pork Buns: Excellent texture contrast with a perfectly crispy bottom and soft, pillowy buns. Sautéed Garlic Green Beans: A total MUST-ORDER. Honestly, these beat Din Tai Fung all day long. Marinated Cucumber Salad: Fresh, crunchy, and lightly spicy with a great blend of soy and garlic. Small Tip for Management The only tiny area for improvement would be keeping a small stand of napkins at the table. It was likely just a small soft-opening oversight (my husband had a napkin on his plate, but I didn't have one on mine). Overall, a stellar addition to the neighborhood. We'll definitely be back!

Here I was in Azusa with 2 hours to kill before my lash appointment in Pasadena and I was feeling hungry. I've tried most of the surrounding restaurants along Route 66 and I was getting pretty tired of eating American food. A quick Yelp search led me to Steam Kungfu Dumpling just 6 minutes away and I was like, "Why not?". Their XLB reviews were pretty good so I was so down. I love to eat Pork XLB. (I mean, who doesn't?!?!). If I were to ask you which restaurant has the best Pork XLB and you tell me it is Din Tai Fung, I probably wouldn't want you as my food buddy. There I was in front of Steam Kungfu Dumpling and I honestly have to say I went in without high expectations. I was in the middle of Azusa and the last place I would find authentic XLB would be here....or so I thought. The restaurant was of a decent size, with a huge open kitchen area for you to watch their staff make XLB and dumplings. Loved this! Restaurant was also clean, which is always of importance to me. The Scan QR code at the table immediately gained them 2 stars. I love the inconvenience of being able to order when I am ready to vs trying to flag someone down with the chance that my order might come out wrong due to language barriers. They don't have as much variety compared with other restaurants in the SGV area but I was happy with what they do have because it was all my usuals I would normally order. Most importantly, they have Pork XLB. I was a bit disappointed that the Scallion Pancake was sold out because that's my second favorite, but I ordered fried Pork Pot Stickers to compensate. The water came to my table before I even hit submit button for my order so that was another plus. I ordered iced Honey Green Tea, which tasted good but thought it was weird it wasn't filled to the top (or at least put more ice in it). The XLB came out piping hot next and I was really excited to try it - it looked AND tasted SO YUM and JUICY. The wrapper was almost perfect because it was thick enough to lift up the dumpling with your chopsticks and translucent enough for you to see the soup inside, but just the right texture for it not to fall apart and leak out the soup- that takes mad skills. I was quite impressed! The fried potsticker was okay without a wow factor but to be fair, I was also getting pretty full from eating all the XLB. Service was great! My server spoke to me in English, Mandarin and Cantonese! That was pretty awesome. I plan on coming back soon to try the Scallion Pancake and fried noodles (of course for my XLB as well!). Steam Kungfu Dumpling is legit and I am so happy they are literally right along the way to my wine bar in Claremont. Great to see some authentic Asian food around this area.

Stopped by on Saturday, 8/2/26 for the first time! I was looking for a new Chinese restaurant to try out and this place popped up. We were seated immediately upon entering. Everything inside looks clean and new. Simply scan the QR code on the table to view and order from the menu. Ordered the following: - 1 beef fried udon = $12.99 - 1 shrimp fried rice = $12.99 - 1 chicken xiao long bao (10 pieces) = $11.99 SUBTOTAL = $37.97 TAX = $4.07 OVERALL TOTAL = $42.04 Our meals came out quickly! The server accidentally gave us the wrong xiao long bao (they initially gave us the pork one but realized that this was for another customer - no biggie). We sat near the TV with loud music on blast - we were going to ask if we can move but decided to stick it through. My mom, dad and I really love their xiao long bao - freshly hand-made inside! The fried rice was a bit bland - it's too Americanized and you can tell they cooked it quick (saw blops of white rice). I will say that they gave a generous portion of big shrimps! The beef fried udon is one of their popular and recommended dishes - so good and saucy! Overall a pretty affordable Chinese restaurant!

    Veggie Dumpligs...just ok.

I was super excited to come across a dumpling restaurant in Azusa, but the actual experience didn't quite live up to my expectations. While they do offer veggie dumplings, they only make them pan-fried without the option for steamed despite offering the steamed option for their other dumplings. Additionally, the taste of the dumplings was average at best with an overbearing taste of ginger. I think they'd do well to try to copy the veggie filling used at Din Tai Fung. The service was fine, I didn't have any issues, although it did take some time for me to be seated after I walked in.

Five five five stars..... finally a good Chinese place with authentic flavors around Azusa/glendora. The xlb is the star. The beef dumpling has a bit of a gamey taste so only get it if you like the cumin flavor. Otherwise get the pork. Fried dough bun was great. Really everything was good! Including the fried noodles. Skip the hot and sour soup.

I was running some errands in the Azusa College Center when I saw Steam Kungfu Dumplings and I decided to check it out. They opened two weeks ago and they are still in their soft opening. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and organized. It has cozy vibes. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We were greeted and seated promptly. Shout out to our server AD (apologies if the spelling is incorrect), who checked on us many times and was very helpful. We scanned a QR code on the table to place our order. We ordered the following: - Veggie Dumplings 5/5 - Shrimp Siu Mai 5/5 - Crab meat & pork soup dumpling 5/5 - Juicy pork Xiao Long Bao 5/5 - Veggie pan fried udon 5/5 - Marinated cucumber salad 5/5 - Golden fried mini bun 5/5 The food was prepared quickly. Everything was very hot, well seasoned, juicy and had such an excellent quality. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had such a great time and an excellent experience there. I totally recommend Steam Kungfu Dumplings. It is an authentic Chinese Dim Sum place in Azusa.

I'm so glad this place opened up near me, to start off the service was amazing. Everything came extremely fast and we got an introduction to everything from our server who explained the dishes which was cool. I like to call myself a dumpling connoisseur and these are definitely delish. The pork XLB was the star of the show perfectly filled with good amount of soup and a good dumpling wrapper (which a lot of places don't master) but this was perfect, the chicken spicy wontons were also fantastic. I used to love the ramen spot that was here before the dumpling shop took over and they redid the inside really nice. it's a lot more open and clean now check them out so we can keep the business alive!

I saw them making dumplings by hand every morning while dropping stuff off at postal annex so I decided to stop by. I ordered pickup, the kitchen and everything looks clean. The food is just okay, nothing really stood out in a good or bad way. The pan fried dumplings were crispy and kind of bland. The pork soup dumplings were bland, didn't have a lot of soup in them. Shrimp xioa mai was solid.

We stumbled upon this new dumpling soup restaurant just minutes from our place--it only opened a week ago, and what a pleasant surprise! The soup dumplings were juicy, flavorful, and freshly made. Every dish we tried was delicious, the service was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. Honestly, I enjoyed it even more than Din Tai Fung in Arcadia. If you're a dumpling lover, this place is definitely worth checking out. We'll definitely be back! #steamkungfudumpling#AzusaChineseRestaurant

I saw the banner yesterday and I am so excited to try this for lunch. I ordered both the chicken and pork xiao long baos to go and truly did not disappoint. It's so delicious and the restaurant has a nice interior for dining in. The service is outstanding. While I waited, I was provided water and so kind. Definitely a try nearby Citrus College or APU in Azusa. Will come back for more.

10 Piece Pork Xiao Long Bao

I love Xiao Long Bao and when I saw this opening next to the neighborhood Stater Brothers, I knew I had to try it. I stopped in today and had pork XLB, Siu Mai and scallion pancakes. All were good but the XLB was the best of them all. The portions are good sized and service was quick and friendly. It was fun to watch the dumplings being made on site. I'll be coming back for more XLB and to try some of the other items.

Shrimp Fried Udon. It looks good but had little to no seasoning which made it lack flavor

So apparently it was a soft opening. Interior was nice and clean. It was a little too warm considering the summer heat. We ordered: HotSour Soup, Shrimp tempura, chicken fried Rice, Shrimp fried Udon, Shrimp & Pork Siu Mai & Kung Pao Chicken. Honestly I was hoping for a better experience but it was really lacking flavor & seasoning. All of it is à la carte, but the dishes came out at different times making it impossible to enjoy as a complete meal. Portion sizes are decent. I would strongly encourage to have more spice options and salt & pepper at the table.

I don't know how the restaurant has been open long, but I'm guessing just a few days. I was greeted right away, by very pleasant staff. I ordered 4 items to go and waited for my food which took about 15 minutes. While I was waiting, one of the servers thoughtfully brought me a cup of large cup of water. The space was a new inside and spotless. Unfortunately, when I got home, the potstickers were missing. Otherwise, the food was very tasty. I'll definitely go back. Well prepared food, big menu and good service.

There is a QR code that you can scan which will give you the digital menu which you can order off of right away without having to wait for the waiter. If you're not sure on what to order the menu tells you what is their popular dishes to help give you an idea of what's good. We order the marinated cucumber salad, Shanghai spicy shrimp and pork wontons, pan fried pork dumplings, pork xiao long bao, and the beef tenderloin udon with black pepper. My favorites were the Shanghai spicy shrimp and pork wontons and the beef tenderloin udon with black pepper. Both are considered spicy dishes but I have a weak spicy tolerance and I did not think that they were spicy at all! The pan fried dumpling skirt was crispy and instantly melts in your mouth. The xiao long baos have a small amount of soup within and the cucumber salad was so refreshing. The food comes out quick! The staff work quick to ensure you get all of your food fast. This place is one of my favorite spots to grab some dumplings. Highly recommend!

The sesame peanut noodles have been disappointing the last three times I've ordered them. They barely add any sauce anymore, so the noodles taste bland. Instead, they throw in a ton of minced garlic and especially minced ginger, which completely overpowers the dish. It doesn't taste anything like it used to. The service has also gotten worse. I asked an employee in Spanish if I could have a straw. She acted like she didn't understand me, so I asked again in English, and she still said she didn't understand. I just said never mind. But a few minutes later, my aunt asked the same employee in Spanish for more water, and suddenly she understood perfectly. That honestly left me confused. The employees also come off as rude and unfriendly. Then, when it's time to pay, they practically shove the tablet in your face while standing there watching you. We were a party of four, yet there was a $16 gratuity added, and on top of that they asked us how much extra tip we wanted to leave. It feels like you're being pressured into tipping twice instead of it being your choice. It's honestly sad because this place used to be so good. I've noticed fewer people eating there lately, and if the food quality and customer service keep getting worse, I can see why. I hope management takes this seriously and brings Thumbling back to what it used to be.
