As I was paying I notice fresshly made spam musubi , I added a couple to my order . The bulgogi was very well marinated and melted in my mouth. Ugh, the fried dumplings were crunchy !! Having lived and frequented orance county/buena park, and SGV area, you really wouldn't set your expectation high for a place in Azusa. However, Bulgogi Town exceeded my expectations! Located in a small strip mall, there's probably only 10 parking spots for all 3-4 establishments there. Bulgogi Town is also meant to be a place for a quick fix or picking up takeout, but they do have one big communal table that can probably seat 10. They also sell snacks there along with their hot food. I came here to pick up a few BBQ meats order, and there was so much food! The price is very attractive for the amount of food you get, and the quality is not bad either. Our food order included cheesy fries and beef bulgogi with rice. We added an extra amount of beef bulgogi. They give you a lot of meat already so the extra meat was overkill on our part. However, the bulgogi had no flavor in my opinion and was somewhat dry. My husband liked it and ate the majority of it all. The cheesy fries were also soggy and too spicy for me. The cheese sauce seemed more heavy on the mayo aspect. I guess I'm more used to American cheesy fries compared to Korean styled cheesy fries. We got a little of everything to try for our first time here. Spicy sweet chili chicken wings: so hot and fresh, very tasty. Bulgogi plate: plenty! Tofu plate: crunchy outside, soft inside. The bulgogi was packed with favor and the gyoza were crispy! The kimchi fried rice had a good amount of kimchi and pieces of pork. It also comes with an over easy egg on top! Really nice mom and pop shop to get your Korean fix when you don't have time for full sit down. Been wanting to try this place since they opened, but honestly, I don't crave the kind of food they have here which is more like fast casual. Anyway, was trying the dry cleaner in the same shopping center and thought I'd give them a try. Ordered the bulgogi Kim bap, jap chae, fried dumplings (Tuesday special) and a side of radish Kim chi. Everything was tasty and as expected. The jap chae was surprisingly good even though it didn't have meat or mushrooms like I'm used to. Would be my go to for sure if it had at least the mushrooms. The Kim bap is ready to go like many Korean markets, so a great option when in a hurry. The dumplings were good as well, but surprised at the dipping sauce or side. I love pickled veggies, especially at Shabu but didn't really work as a dipping sauce if that's what it was meant to be. Would have liked a sweet and/or spicy sauce as a side. The biggest issue was the radish Kim chi. Menu pics show the traditional cubed Kim chi, but what I received was the shredded type. Not exactly the same or what I was expecting. Had to go to hmart that week to get some cause it just left me craving the cubed radish kimchi. Cost me another $100 in groceries :). Finally, service was off the charts friendly and respectful and will be the reason I go back. Have to support the mom and pops that give the extra effort. My wife asked me to eat at Bulgogi Town in Azusa, the food from the website looked pretty good, I was not disappointed, the food was great, I had the Bulgogi plate (beef/rice/2 dumplings/small salad with a sweet dressing) a bit pricey, but the food alone is worth it, not to mention the worker, he was very very friendly and appreciated our business, a bit warm inside but you get used to it within a few minutes, the fried dumplings were the first time I e ever had dumplings (fried) that weren't oily or soggy, they were crisp on the outside and soft inside with plenty of flavor, the beef was sweet without it being overpowering on sweetness, there were onions in the beef, so if you don't like onions, just pick them out, the rice was soft and little sticky which was easier to eat, I hate salad dressing, but the dressing on the salad I ate, it was sweet and reminded me a little of sesame dressing, they have fountain drinks, canned drinks and I believe Korean drinks, there is one long table, so if you're looking for someplace to eat, you may not find a seat, it's made more for takeout, my wife and I decided to eat there, I would definitely recommend.
