Stopped by here to pick-up a beef rice roll before visiting mom. I placed an order for three minced beef rice rolls, two shrimp rice rolls and a beef brisket rice roll. There were so many nostalgic items that I ended up also getting a Chinese tamale and some rice cakes filled with egg custard. Because the rice rolls are made to order, it took close to 30 minutes for my order to be ready. Upon getting to my mom's, I realized they didn't give me my beef brisket roll and gave me an extra shrimp roll instead. Overall, I enjoyed the rice rolls and would go back again to try the beef brisket and other flavors.

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! I do miss the old hole in the wall Loi's, but I wish the owner a happy retirement. Now a much brighter but smaller place, the name speaks for itself. truly some of the best steamed rice rolls I've had in the Bay Area and so close to home! Brisket roll (5/5) tender chunks of brisket that tastes like it's been stewed all day, this is my favorite item on the menu. add some corn, green onion and an egg, you got yourself a hearty breakfast or lunch! Other items you can't go wrong with is the shrimp and bbq pork rolls. Portions are really big so 1 order is good for two people if you don't eat a lot. They also sell a variety of sweets and dim sum items Staff is very friendly and fast paced! Rice rolls came out in about 5-6 minutes. Highly recommend

It's a togo place with 2 small tables to dine in. We came by around 3-4 pm and the order came first. You picked what kind of meat and you can choose 2 free toppings like green onion, pickles, mushroom, corn or etc. I love how fresh the rice rolls taste. The one with egg tastes even better. I would recommend to add eggs to the rice rolls. The bacon and sausage are my favorite. I would definitely visit again!!

If you're looking for authentic rice rolls, Steam Rice Roll King is the spot. We got the shrimp roll with scallions and the BBQ pork roll with mushrooms, plus an iced soy milk, warm soy milk, and chrysanthemum herbal jelly, everything was delicious. The rice rolls were soft, chewy, and perfectly textured, and the fillings were flavorful and well-balanced. The soy milk was a standout and honestly some of the best I've had and so nostalgic, it brought me right back to childhood. The space is small and clearly popular for takeout, but if you dine in, the staff are friendly and give great recommendations. The whole experience reminded me of eating at hawker centers in Singapore--simple, comforting, and full of flavor. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to!

First off, the drinks are a bargain and it's a really good size -- taro coconut milk with sago $3.95 -- a little sweet but refreshing. I love steam rice rolls but is it just me or are the prices a little too steep? So we checked out what else they had to offer and fell for: $4 Fried sticky rice ball -- this is horrible. It's dense AF and flavorless. I'm an idiot. $3.50 for 3 Ham Sui Gok which translates to salty water triangle. These were soggy, not crispy. The filling was also something I didn't enjoy. There was some kind of pungent spice they used. I may be back next time to try their rice roll if I'm in the area. They do seem very popular despite the very small space. Everyone was coming and going. Service is quick. They prefer cash.

Order at a kiosk and wait while they put your order together. I did see a cash sign at the counter, and a woman answering questions about the food on display, but I think even that customer ended up ordering via the machine. I picked up two rolls unaware that the portions were generous. I picked up a fish and a pork, both delicious in their own way. The fish was ultra fresh, and the pork was very tender. While there are some seats, they are on a counter against the wall and a counter facing the window, maybe six seats in total. It's not a place to linger over your food.

Food - I like there's two free side options with the rice roll order - Good portion Service - It did take a while waiting for the order, but the fiod is fresh made. Ambiance - Very tight space inside to wait with others. - Single seating is also very tight to sit next to people to eat. - Great grab and go.

Wanted a quick bite and walked by this place. Order online or at the kiosk and then you can pay with credit card otherwise cash if you order at the counter. Small space but there are two counter tables with 3 seats each if you want to eat in. Lots of locals seem to come and get their rice rolls. Quite a few choices on fillings Buttery soft rice noodle steamed fresh and hot. This actually surprised and impressed me. Whole shrimp firm and nice texture not soggy Beef filling tender and not dense. Need to add chili sauce and soy sauce to bring out the maximum flavors Excellent and a must try will come back soon

A solid choice for pretty darn good rice rolls done NYC-style with a super thin nearly translucent texture with savory pork fillings. Walk on in and order at the kiosk to your left, or directly with the counter help. Once your order is placed, wait a few minutes for your order to cook up. This is a grab-n-go kind of hole-in-the-wall restaurant, with a small counter and tall stools along the window to consume your order right there on the spot. Most people just get their food to go. Ever since a trip to Joe's Rice Rolls in Flushing, NY - one of NYC's Chinatowns, we have been hooked on these super thin handmade stoneground rice rolls filled with different savory fillings. This style of thin-skinned rice roll is different than what you find in most dim sum places where the rice rolls have a much thicker less delicate bite. It's almost like comparing a Blondie's pizza vs. a NYC pizza slice.. Woah..there's a parallel there! My usual order is a rice roll with minced pork filling. You get two free toppings with any rice roll. I add corn and bean sprouts. The soy marinade you drizzle on yourself is light and just salty enough to not overpower the rice roll. Still, the skin could maybe be 5% thinner here, but it's definitely deep in the correct ballpark. .4.6/5.. We enjoy coming here for a quick breakfast treat - faster than a sit down place. Just eat n go! They also have porridge, deep-fried sticky rice (hard to find), Chinese Tamales and a small selection of drinks too.

I will have to come back here to actually try a rice roll because I bought it for my dad. lol I asked the location what was the most famous or popular rice roll and toppings so I chose the bbq pork, green onions and corn. I just sat on the bench and on the counters a few people were eating. This place is better as a take out and not much seating just stools, and bench . There was a constant line of people coming in ordering and taking out. They make everything fresh in the back as you can see them cooking the food. I just waited patiently. They call you and you pick up your food. Good thing they remember you and know what ordered I ordered and called me over to counter. I brought it home and opened it and wow, it's pretty big portions. My dad told me wow and it was good he said. So I will need to go back and try it for myself. Good that I don't have to go all the way to Chinatown to pick up one of these. It may cost a little more but if you are in this side of town I feel distance is worth the price

Order through the QR code instead of third party app. The price from QR code match the in store price and doesn't have the markups.

I had ordered online, but it wasn't ready yet. One of the employer (could be the owner) advised I used the QR code they have posted instead. Because the cost is cheaper as if I ordered in person instead of going through the third party app to order online. Plus, he said they get the orders out faster using the QR code (see attach image). He swapped out the soy milk for me for a sealed one cause I had my hands full. Appreciate the kindness. Food overall is good, just wish there was more meat.

    Tracy V.

i definitely did not expect to like it as much as i did just by the appearance of the store. it's a small togo place but it has a couple of seats to eat inside. we got the shrimp rice roll and it came with two free toppings. the rice rolls were freshly made to order. it came with a small container of their soy sauce but they also had bottles of soy sauce and chili oil at each seat. the soy sauce and chili oil made the rice rolls 100x better. overall, what a hidden gem and would come back whenever i'm in the area.

The staff were friendly and super prompt about clearing empty plates and refilling our tea whenever we signaled it was done, which is always great as the dishes just get on coming! We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and several really stood out. The spicy tendon was fantastic, shredded paper thin and swimming in a classic spicy sauce. The spicy lamb dumplings were another highlight, with an incredibly thin wrapper and a super flavorful and not gamey at all lamb filling. I also loved the stir fried rice cakes, which were sliced thin enough to avoid that overly chewy texture, and the stir fried noodles Shanghai style were classic and simple in the best way, with big chunks of cabbage and meat and just executed really (the chefs clearly have some serious wok skills!). Not everything we ordered was an absolute knockout as the vegetable dishes could use a bit more flavor and seasoning, but everything overall was good, and the portions across the board were very generous. The desserts were a last-minute decision and I am so glad we went for them. The lava custard buns were fluffy and amazing, with a molten salted egg custard inside, and the sesame balls had a satisfyingly crispy exterior that gave way to a perfectly chewy interior and sweet red bean filling. The value here is also excellent. We left absolutely stuffed and spent around $30 per person, which felt like a great deal for how much food we got and how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

Stopped by Palette Tea House with The Kid after FoodieLand thinking we were just coming for tea... and ended up having a full experience. We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. As a Michelin-recognized restaurant for 2025, it definitely felt like a special treat and lived up to the experience.

I walked into the restaurant about 45 minutes before closing time at 9:30 PM and several other diners came in after I was seated. The unsettled weather made the people hungry for dumplings. Bao is warm and woody and serene on the inside, a great counterpoint to the bustle of Valencia at every hour. Upon entering there is a large window looking on to the kitchen prep area where culinary experts are often at work constructing the food diners later enjoy on their plates. Tonight a couple of wizards were in the process of making chicken potstickers. Even being vegetarian, just seeing how the dumplings and other items are made is like seeing secrets being shared. I love it and it sets the vibe for the restaurant. My order consisted of the steamed vegetarian buns and sautéed string beans. The buns come out beautifully presented and taste even better: the bun itself is just slightly sweet and that sweetness adds an amazing dimension to the chopped fresh vegetables inside. Can't tell you what any of these veggies are individually and I don't care, they are so good. Next came the sautéed string beans and the sear on the beans themselves was perfect and smoky and delicious. The crispness of the sautee makes the string beans a lovely pairing with the soft yummy of the steamed buns. Last came the sesame balls as a sweet meal ending. I love donuts and fresh-made sesame balls are similar to a donut hole just with a filling that is actually food and so sweetly tasty. The outer fry was crisp and the insides absolutely perfect. The spare ribs had a really nice savory flavor from the sauce. The egg tarts were okay. I need to note that these bags are leftovers from the day, so they're not as fresh. But they held up the next day so I was able to stretch 2 meals out of them. I can't comment on service since these bags are only for pick up. But they quickly provide the bags once the window open. Not sure how many dim sum options there are in the Mission, but I would go here if I was in the area and craving a shrimp and chive dumpling.
