*Update: SHE LEFT TO OPEN A PRACTICE IN SANTA BARBARA* Supposedly their staff is still good, and i'll give it a shot and update you all. -------------------------------- About 6 years ago I tried a new dentist office. I was sad to leave my old dentist in the bay area and by luck i found this office where was a really good dentist there, Dr Stefanie Lopez. Unlike other dentists who just scolded me and told me to brush and floss more, she actually explained to me how and why. She also did the exam and cleaning herself. At other places though I only got to see the hygienist lame. She takes awesome care of my whole family's teeth. She even remembers my name and has great personality to make you feel like important. The office staff is great. Don't let the voice fool you, Val is very helpful and professional. In fact, has helped me to be able to get appointments that fit my schedule. The only downside is the parking, there is no validation, but it's not like $20 for an hour, i think about $6. I just park across the street in the Marina Parking lot which is $5 for the day in the summer and $3 for the winter. This place is worth the slight inconvenience as I have never felt better about my teeth. read more

Ok..can you really 'love' a dentist? How about extremely like!?! I was referred to Dr Lopez when first moved to town, as many moms, teachers and kids at my daughter's preschool went to her. After a bad experience with another local dentist - and desperately needing work done, decided to switch over. And so glad I did! I've never felt more comfortable with a dentist ever. She's very thorough, explains everything she's doing, talks through options and didn't even make me feel bad for not flossing as much as I should. (Come on we all have left the dentist office feeling shamed right!). Her staff is very friendly and accomodating and appreciate the VERY clean office setting. Brought my daughter for a much needed check up and Dr. Lopez was so gentle and was making her smile/laugh throughout the appointment. I had my first visit to my new dentist and I just love all of them! From the minute I walked in the door, Grace warmly welcomed me made me feel like an old friend, and then efficiently got my information and immediately called the insurance company to make sure things were good. Then Allison came and with a sweet and friendly disposition, skillfully took my X-rays and prepared me to meet Dr Stefani Lopez, the dentist. And again, I was greeted with such warmth and friendliness! And Stefani was thorough and gentle! This was truly a wonderful experience for me as I had moved here and left a dentist that had actually been a friend before he became a dentist and I loved everyone in that office! We are a busy family of five and needed to find a user friendly, compassionate and modern dental practice. In less than six months, we have had six terrific visits with Dr. Lopez's team for cleanings, exams and follow-up care. Her practice is focused on patient care and communication. A big plus for a family with younger kids and spouses who are dental phobic. Also, no sales pitches or heavy marketing for new products or procedures. read more

Dr. Lopez & this office are great. I've had normal preventative care & had fillings done. I've been very pleased with the quality of the work and that the office was able to work with my insurance. They have been very good about getting insurance approvals and letting me know the predicted out of pocket costs for procedures. I have recommended this place to friends & family members. read more

Was looking for a place to take my 6 year old and she was one of the few taking children. My daughter felt comfortable right from the beginning and had fun at the dentist! She got to wear a pair of glasses during the cleaning that made her "disappear" which she thought was super cool. Her fillings went smoothly and she now has a set of clean teeth without the traumatic fear of visiting the dentist. Would definitely recommend Dr. Lopez!! read more

Honestly, the dentist's office is not a favorite spot for most people. HOWEVER, Dr. Lopez's dental practice is the best experience I have ever had at a dentist's office. The staff are all so kind and willing to help and answer questions. Dr. Lopez and Edith, the RDH, are so gentle and make sure you are comfortable throughout any dental procedure or cleaning. Grace, the office manager is incredibly helpful and is always warm and kind. I won't go to any other dental office now, because the care that I have received at this practice is unmatched! What a great dentist! And, she's accepting new patients. She took the time to explain to me what issues I had and what needed to be done. (I've never had a dentist do that before.) Her fees were totally fair too. She just has a calming effect and eliminated the initial fear I felt. Plus, her staff is super nice and the parking couldn't be easier and more convenient. Keep away from Dr. S. LOPEZ DDS. From LOPEZ to her front office manager, Grace, they come off nice, but they have no heart, or even compassion! They really suck ! Stay away. read more

My mom went to Dr. Lopez for something that had been bothering her for a while and she did an amazing job on her so my mom recommended I see Dr. Lopez for some things I wanted to get fixed. I went in and was expecting just another doctor, but Dr. Lopez truly is so sweet and compassionate, you can really feel that she cares to make you as comfortable as possible. She works with you to only to fix what needs to be fixed, but also to make sure that you love the way it looks! One of the most important aspects of this experience for me was that since I have had scary experiences with dentists before, I wanted to let them know that I might be really anxious and that I was definitely scared about the pain. They all made me feel validated and understood and I truly felt like they cared that I was comfortable and ready for the procedure. I was very satisfied with the work she did for me and I am grateful for how comfortable and welcomed the whole staff made me feel! read more

it was a bad experience going to that dentist, she did two teeth wrong, and i still in pain until now. she made a root canal and regular filling for the other one. And she billed me for no service. And the other bad thing that she does not know how to do Anesthesia, like more than 8 times she did it. read more
