Edit: I appreciate the owner responding to my review. I would like to clarify that no one asked me if i wanted a deluxe pedicure. I would have said no thank you if I had been. The lady who did my feet just started using the mechanical nail filer thing on the bottoms of my feet and as I have never been here before, thought this whole entire process was part of their "regular" pedicure. I came here on a recommendation from a fellow yelp member and decided to give it a try. There is lots of street parking so that's not a problem. I got there as a walk-in and the guy at the front made me feel some little paper with my name and I told him I was here for a pedicure. He then told me to go pick a color and I choose a blue color (pictured on my fingernail) . After that I sat in one of their chairs and the lady started on my pedicure. There was so many issues with this pedicure. The lady then got up to use the restroom I assume without telling me. Then the chair started leaking and this poor lady had no help from anyone, so she had to stop my pedicure. After that she apologized and started again. She then used a mechanical nail file for the bottoms of my feet. I thought that was weird but since it was new place maybe that was normal for them. After that she put my feet in some red liquid thing, not sure what it was but I was like OK that's fine maybe it's part of their services. I should have been paying attention, but she polished my nails with the wrong color. Its basically not even a color. By the time I realized this I didn't have anymore time to spare as I was there for a long time already. After She was done, she said I was finished and basically had me go pay at the front. Guy told me it was $30. Wow. $30 for a pedicure? That's insane, I was under the impression it was $18 only per other yelp reviews. If it was $18, they never asked me if I was okay to get a more expensive pedicure. Overall, not happy at all with my pedicure. Its not even the color I wanted and sloppy for $30 I'm angry and disappointed. read more

I've been going to this place for about a year it's pretty pricey but it's well worth it I get a gel pedicure and a gel manicure anybody could do your toes because they're all good but I purposely go to Apple for my gel manicure and a gel manicure usually lasts up to two weeks but I've been having pretty good experiences my gel lasts for about four weeks. Make sure you also pay the extra five dollars for the builder!! read more

I love this place! I've never taken the time to write a review but this place deserves to be shared and I want others to know about how great it is. I love their selection of specialty nail colors like the unicorn and fairy dust glitters for gel nails. I work at a grocery store and customers are always complimenting me on my nails. My go to nail technician is Leann. She does a great job with my manicures. This place has been closed almost all of covid and they deserve the recognition for following all the guidelines for reopening and providing a safe place for its customers. Was easily able to call in and make a reservation for the same day. Stella Making Beauty has plenty of seats for pedicures and manicures! When I came there on a Thursday afternoon, it was packed but they were still able to help me in a timely manner! Sam worked on my almond shaped gel manicure and he was very friendly. They do accept card, but only accept cash for tips. I paid $28 for a gel manicure read more

I went to this salon for the first time and they are a rip off. I called, told the woman in the front, whom she refused to give me her name.,on tfw phone she quoted an amount, when I went to pay, it was so much more!!!!, I asked for an explanation and she said, she never told me a price on the phone!!, DO. NOT call and get a quote, they lie, maybe she's keeping the extra for herself!!!!, horrible treatment!!!! read more

The service at this location was solid, but it wasn't particularly well ventilated which led to a strong scent of acetone that was almost unbearable at first and that I never fully acclimated to. The pedicure I received was great, and very relaxing. The manicure... not so much. I asked for a simple shiny buff and was left with shiny nails with deep scratch marks. In addition to the scratches, the woman who helped me buffed so aggressively that three cuticles on my right hand were ripped up and, a week out, are still resulting in painful peeling on my fingers. Not likely that I'll be returning here. read more

I came here after work today because I was desperate for a manicure. I saw the great reviews and figured I'd try it out. The salon is beautiful and they have massage chairs for those interested in getting pedicures. Helen did my gel manicure, and she was absolutely exceptional. The quality of work combined with her attention to detail are the reason I will definitely be coming back. The prices are reasonable and they have a great range of colors to choose from. Their gel is a great quality as well and they claim it lasts two weeks. I'll definitely be coming here again. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience! read more

It was my first visit & I got the deluxe pedi. Making an appointment was really easy. The woman did a really good job & took her time making sure everything was looking good! I'll definitely be coming back because their service is really good & for a reasonable price. Place was clean & very cute! The only con was after my pedi. When I went to go pay, the woman at the register seemed upset that I was paying with card. She told me to go to the ATM and get cash next door (while my toes were still drying.) She accepted the card anyway but it took some convincing it seems. Next time, I'll definitely bring cash! read more

Everyone here is talented, professional and perhaps most importantly - kind. My manicures and pedicures have been nothing short of top notch no matter which tech does them. The last who runs this place is so sweet, you just want to hug her. They take Covid precautions seriously which makes me feel comfortable and helps put me at ease. 10 out of 10 recommend! read more

I got my nails done yesterday. I understand manicure doesn't last, but why are you using cheap nail polish? This is ridiculous. I'm going away for The weekend and guess I'll be getting my nails done again. People just open nail salons but put zero quality into it. read more

First time here. Nice friendly staff. Lilly is delightful. Very nice place. Got the mani/pedi deluxe for $45. It has all the bells and whistles. A regular mani pedi is $27. With the deluxe you get a 10 min massage callas remover hot oil/towel treatment and paraffin. Felt really nice. I'll be back here again and would recommend this place for sure. Ana's my girl. She hooked up that massage so good. read more

I have been coming here for years... And there is one manicurist that always seems to dislike being there. I always dread it when she is assigned to me. The last time I was there, I had asked for a spa pedicure... And she begrudgingly took me as the next one. She rushed... She did not take her time at all, and seem to want to be someplace else. I don't know her name, but I think it would be rude for me to say I'll take anyone except her. So in Lou of having to go through that rudeness... I have decided never to return. I've been coming here for over a year and I am finally getting around to doing a review. How could I not after having my hands transformed by Patsy. She recently started but I've always had my nails done perfectly here so I did not hesitate. My nails look absolutely gorgeous. She was very very communicative in regards to how pointy and long I'd like my nails. She even gave me tips on how to hydrate my cuticles and best maintain these long daggers. Patsy may be new but don't hesitate! I love my nails. I'm coming back in a few weeks for my birthday set. 02/20/2020 Thursday approx 1730 hours My coworker comes here often and I really loved her nails so I decided to give this place a try! Made a same day appointment and was immediately surprised that they had availability. I work close by so the location was perf. My appt time was at 1730 but I arrived atleast 20 minutes beforehand. There is street parking right infront (on Olive St). I showed the front lady a pic of what I wanted and then was quickly seated to a booth. My nail lady for tonight is Lee. She was very friendly and patient. It's been a while since I last got my nails done so it was a very relaxing experience. Lee was very gentle and also asked if it was okay to try a different style (but still a cat-eye design). It came out looking sooo pretty and shiny! It's my first time doing a cat-eye nail design so this concept is still very new to me. They pretty much use a magnet to create a glare. Now I can't stop staring at my nails! Great customer service! I was in and out of the nail salon in an hour. I'd def recommend this place if you're nearby. P.s. bring cash if you don't want to be charged an extra fee for using credit/debit. read more

8+ years with Stella Making Beauty! As a flight attendant I have had nail services done all over the country but always try to get back to Stella!! I get acrylic with gel and no matter how long I go between my fills, I have NEVER had one nail lift. Plus, my nail color stays as beautiful as the day it's done- and I am very hard on my manicures and pedicures.They have an amazing selection of colors for gel nails also. Their deluxe spa mani/pedi is the way to go! No matter who does my nails they look impeccable, but Jessica and Kevin are awesome. This place is nice! Nice people working there, good services for a no fuss manicure and pedicure, and only a small wait since they have so many people on staff. It smells a bit strongly of the nail polish remover, but my last place had the same issue and was more expensive, so I think I would rather come back here. Thank you! read more

I normally come here for a gel pedicure and that is normally great and I enjoy the pampering session. The deluxe gel pedicure lasts me a good month or so. Today, in preparation for graduation, I decided to get a new set of acrylics with a manicure and my regular pedicure. The lady at the counter was rude as always and said she couldn't do a acrylic manicure even though I had called ahead and confirmed and set a time. Finally when I said, I would just get a manicure somewhere else, she was able to find someone to do my acrylic manicure for me. She also kept telling me the price, which was really interesting, did she think I couldn't afford it? The manicure was fine and they did a acrylic gel manicure. However, no massage, no oils, no cleaning my hands after the manicure, just gel nails and done. I paid $96 for the a acrylic gel manicure and regular gel pedicure. Definitely didn't get the massage advertised for the manicure. Rip off! read more

Firstly.... I am sooooo in love with my nails!! Secondly, I love this place for reasons stated below. :) I live down the street so I'm so glad that this place is just a short walk from my house. I called for a same day appointment and the receptionist was kind and professional and I was able to get an appointment right away. I love this place because they have lots of technicians so they are able to accommodate lots of appointments. The staff here are very kind. Sam was my first nail technician and he was very thorough when cleaning and filing my nails. I wanted a design on both my ring fingers so he had Helen do the designs on my fingers. The design I chose wasn't the easiest, but Helen took her time and made sure it was as close as possible to the picture of the design I showed her. You can tell that they do not settle for less when it comes to the quality service they provide. On top of the great service, the prices are very reasonable. I paid $27 for a gel manicure plus $8 for design for a total of $35. I also tipped Sam and Helen because they were awesome. There's also lots of parking in the back (although it's tandem parking) if there are no more spots on the street. Overall, I am super happy with my experience here with Sam and Helen and cannot wait to come back! read more

I called 20 places prior to calling this place and this was the ONLY place on a Monday late afternoon that had availability. My sister and I both got pedicures and added extra for callus removal. The women both did a good job - our pedicures look great. However, I wonder how sanitary the tools they use are. How do they sanitize the callus shaver? read more

I went in and the nice technician started removing my gel, at the end of removing my gel she asked 'do you want me to cut your cuticles for you?' And I said 'if you don't mind that would be appreciated!' She cut my cuticles and I went to wash my hands and was ready to pay. However when I went to pay, the receptionist told me it would be $45, I asked to confirm the price because all I got was my gel removed and she told me because I agreed to having my cuticles cut, it was now considered a manicure and 'she did the service so I need to pay it.' To which I asked for clarification because she did not paint my nails, do a clear coat, soak my nails, or any of the other services that come with a manicure. She said I could get a polish if I wanted to and I considered it but then I asked again is there no way to pay a little more than the gel removal fee because yes she did cut my cuticles but it feels unfair that since they did not communicate that uncharge to me that I would be expected to pay for a service I simply did not get. She said I should have asked for the prices when she offered to cut my cuticles and I said that doesn't feel fair because I've gotten gel removed before where they just cut my cuticles without asking so why would I have assumed it would be a $35 add on to my $10 service. The receptionist then told me to leave and she would rather me not pay than argue with her. I explained I was not arguing and I do want to pay, $45 for a service I did not receive feels unfair but I would not be leaving without paying. I took a $20 out of my wallet and put it on the technicians table and left. I paid double what I would have paid for the service alone, I will not let someone think I'm trying to not pay service workers, she deserves to be paid, however, I am not okay with trying to be scammed out of $35 for a up-charge that was not communicated properly. I do not recommend this shady behavior in an establishment, sorry for the miscommunication but this could have been handled so much better than it was.

I initially noticed issues with the regular polish, as my nails would chip the very next day. While I eventually switched to gel and didn't mind it, part of the reason I continued coming was because I live nearby and the location is convenient. What has been most disappointing is that I appear to have been blocked from calling the salon. When I try to call from my phone, the calls do not go through, but they do when I use a different phone. I have no idea why this would be the case, as I have always been polite and respectful. At my last appointment, the owner ended up fixing my nail because the salon seemed extremely short-staffed. When I first came in to have the nail repaired, I waited about 30 minutes before being told to return another day. I did not get upset or cause a scene, I simply came back as requested. Throughout my visits, I have been patient but my nails kept chipping. As a business owner myself, I understand that staffing shortages and operational challenges happen. I appreciated that they eventually fixed the nail, especially since I had experienced repeated chipping that appeared to be related to newer products being used. It's also sad to see so many of the original team members no longer there. Overall, I'm left feeling confused and disappointed by the level of service and communication, especially given my loyalty as a longtime customer.

I came back after a long nail break and today was my third and final visit. The last two appts were a little bit off, all the little things that used to make this my favorite place were hit or miss now, but today was almost insulting. The woman doing my pedicure right away seemed new and unsure about everything she was doing. Cool, I'm patient. But it wasn't really the relaxing vibe I was paying extra for- a lot of bumbling around, leaving the scrub on my legs until it started to itch, cleaning the whole basin while my legs were cold and wet instead of drying them first, stuff like that. I was really dying for some pampering today so all of that stunk, but fine. She barely took any length off my toenails despite asking her to cut them short not just file. The clipper hardly touched them. I had to ask her to go back again and she did and they are STILL longer than they should be. But the part that was insane: during my 10 minute leg "massage" (which was only 8 minutes), she was literally texting with one hand and half massaging me with the other for maybe half the time. I was staring right at her in disbelief. I should have said something but I honestly felt weird demanding she massage me better? I wanted to relax, and that would have felt so uncomfortable. At one point she was just absentmindedly scraping her fingernail up and down the bottom of my foot, totally lost in her phone. I've never experienced anything close to this here. When I paid, the woman at the desk asked how it was, and I hesitated (this woman was right next to me) but said, slowly "um... okaaaay, but" and she cut me off "great! You owe $53"- she obviously didn't care, so I decided not to bother. The polish is nice even if my toenails will have to be cut in maybe a week max. That sucks. I still tipped 15% since I usually tip 25 or 30 because they are usually that good, but now I wish I'd tipped less. Absolutely wild experience.

*One positive note: the inside is beautiful and clean.

With that being said, I got a gel French pedicure, but keep in mind I did not get a sugar scrub, hot towel treatment, or any extras however she still charged me $70 as if I choose a deluxe pedicure package. I am truely sad to have to write a negative review for this place…read more I was really hoping based on their other reviews, that I found my new nail place. I had hard Gel on my nails from my old place. Not chips or cracks! I was asking for my nails to be cut all the way down and hard gel again. Ben was the tech, he used a dremel to grind off what was on my nails and to cut down the length. I first had to keep telling him to go shorter and shorter. He then used the nail file and it still wasn't getting them short enough and they were extremely crooked. I had to point out about 8 of the 10 nails one by one that need to be leveled out. He then did his thing painting them. I got no lotion, no cuticle cutting, no hand message. Just the Dremel, file, paint, light and oil. About 3 hrs later 1 nail chipped. I went back and Rose tried to corrected it. She removed everything off the nail again. Placed some type of liquid hardener, cure it, but did not smooth it out so after it was painted it looked rippled. By that night a 2nd nail cracked, by morning a 3rd nail chipped. I wasn't doing any house work or anything to cause it. By day day 3, I have 3 chipped and 1 cracked nail and that's not mentioning the one they corrected. $50 for Hard Gel and 2 Visit, tipping both visits. Gone! Update: 7 days later my nails are so messed up. I really wanted to possibly go back and give them one more chance but absolutely not!

Both Ani and Anna were very attentive throughout the appointment and kept checking to make sure I liked the shape and cuticle work, which I appreciated. I especially loved my pedicure. The only issue was with my manicure. Toward the end, I noticed a piece of dust trapped under the gel or top coat on one of my nails. Since it's something I'll probably notice every day for the next few weeks, I pointed it out when she asked if everything was okay. She checked it and added another layer of top coat, but the dust was still visible. I'm not someone who likes confrontation, so I ended up just leaving, even though I knew I'd probably regret not speaking up more. Overall, everyone was kind and detail-oriented, and I really enjoyed the pedicure. I just wish the manicure issue had been fixed before I left.
