I've been getting gel manis and Pedis. The quality of this nail salon is nice. This used to be my favorite nail salon until I realized how some of the nail techs were making fun of us. My former nail tech would say something to me and then she would say something in her language, and everyone else was giggling. This is happened several times, especially lately. The straw that broke the camels back was when I caught my nail tech Charging me a higher price for the more expensive polish, and then I saw that she switched polish and use the cheaper version on my nail my nails. I called her out without making a scene. She denied it and then she tried to show me that how she was really using the real thing which was a lie. I went ahead and paid the higher price. I I thought it be best if I didn't cause a scene. That said, I will never go back to this salon again. read more

I have been coming here 5+ years and will continue! They are the best. I get short acrylic gel nails and deluxe gel pedicures once a month. The fills last me an entire month! No breaking, no chips, and they always look fresh. They also offer amazing shoulder/neck massages while you're getting your nails done. The deluxe pedicure is extremely relaxing, it includes a 10 minute foot/leg massage and paraffin. I love this place and always recommend it! This review has been long overdue. read more

I love this place for different reason but I was not that happy my last visit, maybe partly because Lana was not in & I decided to go from my natural nails to Gel x. I also finally figured out that they charge you for gel removal. Now, I understand a lot of places charge you but most places will charge you gel removal if you did not get your nails done at their place. So from now on if I decide to come back I'll be doing my own gel removal because it's a lot cheaper & why not save $5 dollars. I have attached my gel x pictures & I think they look great but he failed to really file my nails from the side & I hate how bulky they look. I got them done with Brian. I'm not really that picky but I know for $72 I could have gone to someone else and done a way better job. I was very disappointed & annoyed that I had to file my nails. I would recommend Lana or Apple. Apple did my pedicure about 2 weeks ago & I loved her work & attention to detail, also super sweet. Lana is my go to but I believe she only works with natural nails and not gel x. Customer service for the most part is always great & most of them are sweet. I live close to this nail salon and have passed it a few times but decided to try it today. Sam did my nails today and did an excellent job. We also found out we are both Chinese which was a wonderful surprise!! I got the white chrome powder over pink gel - it was $46, which is not bad for a manicure in LA in my opinion. Everyone was very nice but that only goes so far. Everything is an up charge from the base. That's ok but The Gel polish has 3 price tiers, OPI being the most expensive. My nails: 1. My Gels are sloppy. She didn't clean up. 2. The edges are super thick and the corners are rough. 3. The corners feel like they are glued to my skin. 4. I asked for fireworks on my big toe and got a flower. My daughters nails: 1. She asked for small silver stars and got big white polka dots. They also charged extra for using a credit card instead of cash. It was well over $100! I don't usually carry that kind of cash. We tried a new place since our regular place was booked and we are leaving for a trip tomorrow. Next time we know to plan ahead better and go to our usual salon. Lesson learned. read more

I've been going to Stella Making Beauty for about 8+ years and recently after a few visits I have been left disappointed. I'm very meticulous about having a clean and even pedicure. I requested short square, it's rounded. My white gel pedicure was rough with black dots on it. The nail tech was cleaning the sides of my toes with her long nails (without a glove). It's just overall not a clean job. It feels rushed and sloppy. Won't be returning anymore, I need find a new location that will do a clean job. read more

I've been coming to Stella's for at least 15 years, when it had its first big makeover, before Lily & her son (Brian) took over. It was always clean and neat (it has become dated over the years) but the staff is always friendly and competent. I've recommended it countless times, taken friends and family, and considered it my "go to" place. Recently, since Covid shutdowns, I'd not been as often, it appeared under staffed and was often booked, I also went elsewhere for difficult "nail art" but for "regular" mani-pedi they really couldn't be beat. Not the cheapest place but certainly not the most expensive! Lily not only remembered my name but remembered my mother's on her twice yearly visits from out of town. If there was a "mistake" (chipping polish day after, smudged nail etc.) Lily made sure it was fixed! Unfortunately, it appears they have either changed ownership or Lily was off (I called two weeks in a row to make an appointment, and she didn't answer , she ALWAYS answers, and she wasn't at the front desk when I went in last. The prices have gone up ($111 for gel mani/spa pedi +gel and two basic nail art {cute little baseball hearts} on fingers, not including tip of course) which with the chaos in the world is understandable BUT my gel manicure started chipping/peeling 4 days after. Before you ask- no!! I didn't do any cleaning with harsh chemicals, I didn't submerge my nails for extended periods, no swimming, I didn't even do dishes in the 4 days-funny enough the two "art" nails are still perfect (pinky nails two) the other 6 abominable, I'll need to go somewhere this week to get them done. I recently went to get my nails done and they were very misleading about the pricing for additional services, They literally don't have it labeled on their menus so yes it's very misleading and dishonest of you wait till it's time to pay and then overcharge someone. I recommend you make new menus that actually LISTS ALL SERVICES AND ADDITIONAL SERVICES . MAKE IT CLEAR. Literally the WORST manicure I have ever had in my entire life! Came in to clean up my nails from the 1st time I came here for gels which totally ruined my nails. Not only did the manicurist not remove all of the polish she did a horrible job of just filing. They're so uneven and raggedy. She also wanted to charge me $7 extra to buff my nails. Is buffing not part of the whole manicure? The only reason this gets 2 stars instead of 1 is my pedicure was actually nice. read more

I love coming to this place for simple yet money worth mani and pedi services. Keep in mind they are always VERY busy. Best times to come would be with an appointment in the AM. I got my toes done a while back, but before my bday weekend comes I had to stop in for a good deluxe manicure. The color I chose is 148 - soft pink. I am still giving them 5 stars even with a lil bit of over cutting on my cuticles, because she truly did a great job despite that. I paid a total of $52, $25 for deluxe mani and $21 for the color I chose, and a $6 tip. My deluxe pedi was $40 and I left a $5 tip. read more

This was my first time coming here, since my partner was getting a hair cut on the same street and I had some me time, I decided to stop by. Why not, right? Well.. they took me in right away, wasn't busy. Though the guy who was doing my nails, I showed him a simple design but he refused to do them, since he can't do them I am guessing. I let that be, so I went for a simple floral design with french tips. While doing the design, the receptionist came saying theres another customer waiting, he then started rushing the designs. He literally just put dots for my flowers and rushed the finishing of it. The location isn't bad, its clean inside, but rushing a customer because your time management isn't good or organization, isn't okay. read more

Stella's used to be so good. Now they are horrible. Went for a gel mani & pedi picked out my colors and the lady tells me to pick another color similar which of course was more expensive. That's not what I want. Then after 30 minutes of doing my pedi the other girl starts doing my mani. She puts a pillow on my lap and I notice she scoops the dirty water out from the tub my feet have been in and she wants me to soak my fingers in it. I said you just put the dirty water from my feet in the bowl and you want me to speak my fingers in it. No way. She said no I turned the water on and used that new water. I said no you didn't and she then turns the water on and hot water comes out and burns my feet. I said no more mani and told the other lady to just finish my feet. When I went to pay the lady at the counter told me sorry and told me to come back in a few days and they would do a mani and a new pedi since it took 3 workers to polish my toes without getting it all over my skin around my toes. Never again. This place sucks. read more

Overall, I'm disgusted, horrified and dissatisfied. When I got my pedicure done, the lady was LITERALLY plucking her hand cuticles with the same tool she used on my toes. Also- she cleaned her pedicure tools with my dirty pedicure water at the end of my pedicure. Then, she threw them in her tool box. My acrylic nail set was mediocre. My nails are so sore from being filed so aggressively. I'm so pissed I can see the lines from being poorly buffed. The real shit that gets to me is the top coat is applied so shitty on all my nails. You can see where top coat is and isn't applied. We The older lady manager was super pushy and annoying. She kept trying to get me to spend more money by saying upgrade to gel, deluxe pedicure, callus remover, French tip- let me get what I want! Also, they charge a dollar more for card and they didn't give me a receipt. I will be contacting the city of Burbank's health department on this place. Never again. read more
