My first experience at a nepalese restaurant and it was pretty great! The location is relatively small - I came with 2 other friends and there was one waitress handling the restaurant. (She was very nice!) I had the chicken momos and pani puri. Both came in portions of 8 pieces and we're very delicious. The lunch specials look good, so I'll try to come back for that next time. At the end, we were offered this fennel seed mix, which is like a palate cleanser and helps reduce bloat, so that was super fun. read more

Went here with my Mom the other week... I have to say, I really am impressed. I had the beef momo (fried of course) - the flavors were very tasty. Especially with the dipping sauce, which I had thought was strange at first, but a great compliment to the flavors of the momo. My mom had the lunch special, and let me just say... it came with the works. A full meal, sure to satisfy. I don't exactly remember what she had, as it was the first time being here. But it's definitely worth the price. The place, is rather small, but adequate. Kind of gives you that eastern Asian vibe, especially since it's Nepalese cuisine. The girl who served us was quite humble, friendly and attentive. I highly recommend coming here if you're in the mood for something tasty and relatively inexpensive. The flavors are definitely way better than the price offered. I hope and wish this place will remain in business for awhile, as my mother and I were extremely satisfied with everything of this place. read more

This mom and pop shop in Forest Hills serves up tasty Nepalese cuisine; it's been around for several months and I'm glad it adds to the diversity of cuisine in the neighborhood! The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building along Austin Street with other restaurants and businesses, and I came by for dinner with a friend before heading over to the nearby Regal theater to watch a movie. Arriving shortly after 5pm on a Saturday the restaurant was empty except for one table, and we were seated right away. There are approximately 7-8 tables that seat two people, (though can be put together for slightly larger groups,) and the decor consisted mainly of framed art of Nepal. Aside from an assortment of appetizers ranging from french fries to a variety of Nepalese chillis and wings, to perhaps less well known though suitable introductions to Nepalese cuisine like sukuti (beef jerky), chicken gizzards and beef tongue, the menu features mainly momos, thukpa (noodle soup), fried rice and noodles, several curries and desserts. We ordered: - fried chicken momos $11+2 for fried instead of steamed: came freshly fried, hot and delicious, juicy inside and crispy outside, with a savory minced chicken filling. Came with a medium spicy sauce. - beef thukpa $16: this was a warm and filling dish of noodles with beef and julienned vegetables like cabbage, carrots and green onions. The beef tasted like it was somewhat preserved in preparation before adding to the dish, which was a little on the chewier side though felt intentional. Overall warm and comforting. While there weren't many customers dining in, they seemed busy with takeout and delivery orders. We waited about 20 minutes for food to be ready and asked about the timing, later the owner was kind enough to offer dessert on the house due to the wait though we didn't take up the offer since we were trying to catch the movie. Stellar Pokhara is a great spot for dinner on a cold winter night. I tried the beef thukpa and gulab jamun for takeout and both were delicious enough to convince me to return for a sit down dinner. My husband got the beef chow mein and I ordered the half & half thupka with beef and vegetable momo, which was like getting two dishes in one. We really enjoyed all of the food and left feeling warm and satisfied. The restaurant is cute and welcoming, and the servers are very kind. I haven't had many opportunities to try Nepalese cuisine and descrptions of the traditional dishes would be really helpful. I'll definitely be back! read more

Service here is attentive but since they had been getting a lot of postings on FB, they are definitely understaffed for the flow of customers. Definitely enjoyed the food. We ordered the chicken momos that came when a spicy sauce. Juicy and delicious. Also ordered the fried rice and chicken wings, both a huge hit. The chicken wings are freshly made. Crispy and hot. As this was our groups first time trying Nepalese food, we opted for the mixed appetizer plate we could try a little of everything. Our least favorite dish was the beef jerky curry. Definitely way too chewy. We all had a hard time chewing the jerky. Definitely a great new addition to the neighborhood. read more

I am beyond happy to see a Nepali restaurant in forest hills. I had to try this place. So, I went here for quick lunch on Saturday. I had ordered jhol chicken momo and waiwai sadeko . Since, I can't handle too much spice upon my request, they adjusted it. The jhol was divine , it was way too delicious, balanced between tangy and spicy and goes well with momo. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Highly recommend everyone to visit. The service was nice. The restaurant was neat and clean. read more

Kind and attentive service. Cozy decor, clean space, and thoughtful dish ware. Nepali cuisine is health conscious and simple, so level expectations-- that said, it's not bland, but it's not going to be heavy in fats and oils or overdo spices. It will be more delicate and balanced flavors. The beef momos were deliciously seasoned and a must try. The beef jerky signature dish was chewy with cube-shaped pieces and a gravy that was a touch too salty, but this is my first time trying that dish. The vegetable thukpa was okay. It was a delicate belnd of herbs and spices. Overall, the restaurant is priced affordably and the dishes healthy. I'd return to try other dishes or if I'm watching my calories. read more

Highly recommend visiting this restaurant! We got the chicken momo's, beef noodle soup, the snack platter, and chicken curry. All of it was delicious - the noodle soup was such a unique flavor differ from other noodle soup styles but one of my favorites. I came here for lunch with a friend. We ordered the Chicken Chow Mein and Beef Momo. Both dishes were very flavorful! I especially loved the Chow Mein. They know how to season well and bringing out the flavor for each dish. We would definitely go back again and try more dishes! Our waitress was attentive and friendly! I love this place. It's one of the best --if not, the best-- places to eat in Forest Hills, in an area dominated by chains and nondescript takeout spots. The curry lunch specials are an amazing deal--my partner and I will get the chicken and the veg curry and go 50-50 because we love them both. The Stellar Snacks is also a must try, with a delightful array of fun and unique flavors! The chili sauce is also awesome for spice lovers, it's got a great kick. Certainly a bad place to order food. I had a chicken chow mein and it tucked. The chicken was hard as it was added to the noodles after frying it. No taste . Waste of $$$​ read more

Service was good and resturant was clean. Most of the food was too spicy. I hope the resturant does well but they have to better control the spice levels. My salmon curry was good but my salmon was hard and dry. I will rate four stars for now and hope they can at least curb the spice level; even their mild is/was too spicy read more
