Transport yourself to a cozy Tibetan mountainside cabin with @lhasa. I really liked the decor of this place, especially its wooden walls. I got the Tibetan vegetarian combo platter for the momos and they were pretty good. They had a distinct flavor to it and the sauce for these momos were different. This place was also pretty well priced for the area. They also offer $2 Tibetan butter teas, and they were all right. It felt like I was sipping on or drinking bone broth. The customer service was also fast, our food came out quickly. The server also was informative about the food and answered any questions that we had. It's best to RSVP because this place can get busy as it gets later onto the night. Overall, would recommend this place. They also have good noodles as well! Price: $14.00 Rating: $8.5/10

Went here with a big group and found the seating easily as we went during odd hours for late lunch. I like how this small place is decorated with Tibetan art and touch! The food was amazing. There were many vegetarian options to choose from. The chive and mushroom momos were so on point! The dipping sauce which accompanied the momos was spicy and flavorful taking the momos to next level. Yummmm! We also got the noodle soup which was so comforting! I am definitely coming back during winters to enjoy their noodle soup. Also the fried rice was delicious - must order! Service was great - it was quick, food kept coming in as they kept preparing it. And they were super courteous.

It was a hot day in NYC and a hot day for soup but we tried this place anyway. We've never had Tibetan food before Cute place with a few tables. The only negative is there was no AC. There was a standing fan that was cooling the entire place and so we were sweating while consuming our soup. Food was good. Quick service!

A cozy spot for Nepali eats -- the staff was really nice, gave us recommendations. Potato Momos were my favorite, loved that the dishes had lots of vegetables.

The noodle soup was pretty good. Love the hand-pulled noodle texture. The beef wasn't tender but for $14 a bowl I thought it was pretty solid.

Meat/protein dish (pork), chicken Momo, pork noodle soup

The chicken momo was fantastic-juicy and not greasy. The pork noodle soup- noodles were delicious and I really liked all the fresh vegetables included in it. The Am-jha butter tea was interesting. Salty and fragrant especially closer to room temp. Couldn't finish it because it was heavy with butter. Pork dish with bread was good-not too spicy. Food came fast.

Great first Tibetan food experience. The Bodhthuk was a great soup noodle dish. It had the heartiness of a classic chicken noodle soup, and the addicting flavor of central asian spices. And the Momo were like Tibetan soup dumplings (very delicious- i had the beef momo). Came for Friday dinner and there was no line--it was pretty empty, surprisingly. This place needs more love, it was really good.

No wait and fast service. The place was decorated nicely and it was homey. The food tho was not up to par. I've had Tibetan food in Queens and this does not even compare. The momos were small and they were okay, nothing too special about them honestly. The spicy beef was dry & the portion was ridiculously small. The bun was a nice add on and soaks up the flavor tho. We also ordered a soup noodle dish and it was extremely bland and small . The lamb was gamey and left an aftertaste. The mango lassi were good, tho a bit tart. For the portion and price I wouldn't come back.

SERVICE - located off of 1st Ave and 11th street - indoor and outdoor seating available - not very crowded even during dinner hours - good for semi casual meal - servers are quick about bringing food but do not spend a lot of time making conversation MENU - Tibetan style appetizers and main dishes with extensive selection of noodles - vegan options available - average price ($15 per entree) FOOD - shoko khatsa (6/10): pan fried potatoes tossed in spicy sauce. This dish is a good appetizer to share between two people. The sauce has a lot of fennel and mustard which makes it sweet and gives it a bit of a punch. The potatoes could have been crispier as they were not soft nor crispy. - vegetable momos (6/10): mixed selection of potato, spinach, and mushroom momos. The potato was my least favorite as the filling was very bland. The spinach one was okay but could have used another vegetable or tofu to add substance. I liked the mushroom one the best as it had a good amount of flavor and textures. - thenthuk (4/10): flat rice noodles stirfried with vegetables and tofu. I wanted to like this dish but was disappointed since the noodles did not stay together as we ate them. The flavors were okay but did not standout. WOULD I GO BACK? I was not a huge fan so probably not.

Finally got around to trying this place! I've never had Tibetan food before but it seems very similar to some regional Chinese cuisines I've had. Prices are very reasonable. I got the beef and chive momos which were yummy and juicy. I also got the Ngeothuk (the stir fried noodles) with lamb which was solid, though I wish the lamb pieces were bigger (though it is $12). I also tried a cup of their butter tea since I've never had it before. It tastes like milk mixed with melted salted butter - not bad but not my favorite. Overall a solid place - would recommend dropping by!

I originally placed a pick up order but when I arrived I saw the gorgeous dining area that was peaceful and carefully taken care of as well as a welcoming staff. They offered to set a place for me if I could stay so I set up shop with some chicken momos and one of their recommended beers! A fantastic lunch!

Food (4/5): The momos were good however not the best I've had. The beef and chive was a bit chewy and tougher to consume. I got the bodhtuk soup noodles and the thentuk fried noodles. Both were pretty good although could've had more bold flavors. Service (5/5): The server was helpful and friendly with occasional jokes. The food came out reasonably fast and we had no issues with it. Ambiance (4/5): It's a cozy smaller place but overall reasonably nice. The chair I got was wobbly and I needed to switch. The bathroom was well maintained and super clean. Overall a nice restaurant.

    Shabhakleb/Shabaley. 4 for $14. Tasty

The food was fresh, well-spiced, and served piping hot. We ordered all vegetarian--chilli momos, potato with black-eyed peas, bamboo shoot curry, and dal with garlic naan and rice. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. For a bit of nostalgia, we ordered Kingfisher beer, but realized the version here in the U.S. tastes quite different from what you get in India--not quite the same experience. Overall, a solid weekday dinner. Word of caution--if you ask for extra spicy (like I did), they actually deliver on it, so choose wisely! If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try--especially for the food.

Our server was so pleasant and efficient -- he appeared to be the only person working the dining room -- I hate to write anything less than positive. But I really didn't enjoy my meal. My daughter, who's eaten at various restaurants on the strip, was also underwhelmed. We started off with steamed chicken momo (dumplings.) Served with two spicy dipping sauces, we were off to a good start. But then ... -- Chicken tikka, my frequent choice, was over-cooked, under-spiced and dry. When prepared properly the chicken is succulent and flavorful. I appreciated the vegetables from my platter which I mixed with rice, but other than that, a big NO. -- S ordered chicken thali: lentils, rice, mustard spinach, potatoes, salad, achar (a condiment of fermented fruits and vegetables), papadum and kheer (rice pudding.) We both have had better. Unlike family-run Indian restaurants I frequented on E. 6th Street -- none of which remain -- midtown restaurants are a bit more formal often requiring reservations. With no availability at a neighboring restaurant, Taste from Everest could accommodate us when we popped in. By the time we left, every table was occupied with people whose opinions, based on Yelp reviews, likely differ from mine.

We left a nice tip, as the gratuity isn't auto added. This place as classy as heck. Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly wait staff who are eager to see you have a good time, and a good meal. Spices were balanced, and the ingredients were fresh and vibrant. Herbs were bright beautiful green and fragrant. Bread was chewy and soft. If you see it, try the bottle of Montepulciano. It's a hidden gem. Garnet colour with fresh fruitiness, and subtle tannins. Also. None of the dishes were greasy. If you've ever had Indian food at a bad place, there's always a pool of oil floating on top. None of that happened here. You could taste every ingredient. Your water glass is empty? No worries. One of the wait staff was right there to fill my glass when it was less than half full. Wine glass running low? No worries. One of the wait staff swing by and refill you. Need the cheque? Make eye contact with anyone, and request it. It zooms over to your table. Music is soft and lets you hear your dining companion but not the next door table. Vegan dishes are clearly marked. The only issue I have is that the entrees don't come with rice or roti. You have to buy those separately. Idk what you're meant to eat your daal with, but be prepared to spend extra on rice. Other issue is that the heat level is very low. My companion got a meat dish, and I got a vegan dish. Both were extremely mild. Also, they don't bring onion and green chili to go with the food. It was weird to order like a Punjabi chhole dish, and have it be mild and have none of the onion/green chili that you see at Punjabi restaurants. That said, would 100% come back.

Nice spot. Meals are om the heavy side, more than you can eat. Overall very professional service.read more
