Alchemist nitro draft coffee
Rebecca G.

OMG so great. We were looking for a bar to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs and this place was a short uber away from Dupont Circle. We definitely hit the jackpot. Small, local bar with great wings and sports. They also had great music. Beer on draft, cocktails available as well. In addition to the wings, I had cheese curds, which were super fresh and delicious and the hubs got tots. I started with a nitro draft coffee. I love coffee on nitro and we were there around noonish. There is an upstairs but we didn't go up there as it was closed when we went in the afternoon. There's also a little bit of outside seating. I would definitely recommend this place!

Yummy and cheap food and great drink deals! We ordered almost everything on the menu and the only thing we regretted were the buff chick wraps

Little hole in the wall Irish pub. We came in to get a bite and a beer. They had a pretty decent selection of local craft beer on tap. I was expecting much out of the food but it blew me away. The tacos were on special (on Tuesday 3 for $6). The tortillas seemed homemade and the chipotle sauce was delicious. The chili had to have been one of the best chilis I've ever had. It was not soupy, very chunky. I had to take some of jalapeños off but the flavor was not something I expected to come out of an Irish pub. The overall vibe made me feel like I was in a neighborhood bar in Good Will Hunting or something. The bartender was loud and friendly but not in a bad way. A Hispanic guy would come down from upstairs and bring food and check on the tables. I would go back again!

Fish Tacos

The best part of this place was the service--the worst, by far, was the food. We sat outside and went in to order. They were out of several dishes, but the staff was nice about telling us and joked with us while we figured out what to get. But the food itself really disappointed. I had the fish tacos and barely finished them because the taste and quality left a lot to be desired. There's a lot of places to grab a bite on this street, you can skip this one. It looked like a fun sports bar for drinks, so maybe stick to that.

This place is amazing. We love sitting at the bar upstairs the service is fantastic and the vibe is chill and fun! Talon and Jason are the absolute best... ask for them the next time you're here!

My prized t-shirt that I purchased from the only bar we visited twice during our DC trip last weekend! (10.14.2018)

We stumbled onto the Blaguard while waiting to check into our Airbnb during our visit to Washington, DC last weekend. I was so intrigued with the name, I had to go in. For the remainder of our DC trip, we tried to insert the name "Blaguard" in every sentence we could. Located in the beautiful neighborhood of Adams Morgan, this bar was a pleasant surprise. We had just eaten lunch and had a little time to kill, so we grabbed a couple of beers. I tried the Guava-Beary Gose (4.7%) from the local Hellbender Brewery, and it was delicious. Steven was tending bar that afternoon and was very friendly. We loved this bar so much that we went back to visit one last time before we flew out the next morning. We need to plan another visit to DC to try out their food options. Thanks Steven for the great service and finding me a woman's shirt to purchase as a souvenir!

Shit hole bar with rude bouncer who won't let a 30 year old with an ID in because it's a few days expired. Also dirty and slow service.

My friend hosted a happy hour there, and I love when events like that introduce you to new spots. The drink specials were honestly amazing with $6 drinks, which is hard to beat. The food specials ended at 7 while the drink specials continued until 8, so I was a little bummed to miss out on that. One thing to note if you're ordering food, the four cheese pizza comes with burrata, which I didn't realize ahead of time. I'd definitely come back to try more of the food, especially the flatbreads since they seem to have a lot of good options. That said, I don't think the staff was fully prepared for the size of our group. My friend brought around 60 people on a Friday night, and it was clear the servers were overwhelmed. At times, it took over 10 minutes just to place an order. I don't necessarily think that's the norm, so I'd be open to coming back during a regular happy hour to get a better feel for the service. Great size bar as well.

This was great. Happy hour (3-7) offers beers ranging $1-3, wine $4-6, $7 margs, and I think a few other drink specials, but those options were good enough for me and I went with the wine. Service was a little slow at first, but the one bartender working was friendly and cheerful and doing her best to keep up with everyone until another two eventually showed up or came back from break. Atmosphere was really chill. I liked the dim lighting, everyone was casual and relaxed with a dj setting up in the corner, some hip hop and classic 00s rap bumping, and a steady flow of young-ish friend groups coming in for cheap beer around 5pm. I tried not to evesdrop on the couple next to me at the bar arguing, but their fight sort of added to the entertainment and general vibe. On the other side of me was an adorable couple unsuspectedly ordering fruity drinks and laughing. Totally will be back whenever the end of my work day brings me to this area.

Great spot to watch World Cup games if you've been looking around for options!…read more The space is fairly massive with plenty of screens, so even for popular games you'll likely be able to find a space to perch. I was concerned that for a highly anticipated match it might just be standing room only. But even with a 9pm start and a 9:30pm arrival, my friend and I both were able to find some seats. The bartenders were attentive while appearing to be laid back and kind. Even the food people ordered looked pretty good as well! If there is a good game on with highs and lows, the energy of the crowd really matches the energy of the game. Since there is so much space, those celebratory moments just feel joyful instead of overwhelming. Overall, nice lil vibe and I wouldn't hesitate to return!

Today for the Norway / England quarter finals game the line was wrapped around the building over an hour before the game. We were in line at 3:45pm. It said on their flyer they would begin letting people in to watch the game at 4pm (game started at 5pm). I've been to Franklin hall before I know how big it is and it's even bigger if they open up the second space. I didn't think we would have any problem getting in. 4:45pm comes around and we start hearing from other people that they're at capacity. My husband went up and they were giving very unclear answers. Apparently they had a party for the embassy of Norway, I'm not sure how much space that was taking. I think they could've announced to the long line that had been waiting over an hour that they were at capacity. It ended up being a rush to find alternative bars to watch the game. Totally understand it gets busy, but wish there was better communication to the fans outdoors.

The customer service is attentive and friendly. The wings and Walkers Smash Burger were a disappointment in the flavor department. The burger was bland and the wings did not have good texture. On big game nights, you can see the game on multiple screens and from various vantages. The bar is centrally located and seemingly accommodating for the size of the venue. The one downside of this experience is the mens restroom was downright filthy. Apparently there was an overflow or clogged urinal which spilled all over the floor and created an unsanitary situation.
