Jose & Cory were great helping first to hydojet our main sewer drain that was completely clogged due to the the neighbors tree roots. It was so bad that we had to arrange for the city clay tile side (where the problem was) to be re-lined to permanently correct the situation. It was complicated and a big task. I would recommend Stephens to anyone looking for help with buying a HVAC system. I had four different local companies come out for a bid and these guys were the most impressive of the bunch. Andy was very good at describing the scope of work and giving me all options available for my set up. He was upfront about some of the challenges with my job but ensured me that his techs could get the job done. I had many, many, questions for Andy and he answered them all either in person or on the phone. When Freddie and his team showed up to do the install, his guys were on the ball and had the goal of getting the job done as quickly as possible with quality of the systems efficiency in mind. Freddie was very thorough in explaining to me how the HVAC systems works and why certain ducts and returns had to go in certain places. Freddy was very patient with me and my questions and when it came to crunch time, he even came on a Saturday to finish my job! The AC unit that Freddie installed made my house feel like Narnia, super cold! For those of you on a budget, they were the 2nd lowest bid of the four we got and they were number one in explaining to me how things would work and why. They also offered 9 month 0% financing through a 3rd party, on approved credit. Great service! Scheduled an appointment for them to look at my heater which was not working. They were on time and called beforehand to let me know the serviceman was on the way. Matthew was very pleasant and thorough; checking the thermostat and adding wires that were not there and fixing the heater as well (which also needed new wiring). Ok, I am positive without a shadow upon a doubt that I found my plumbing company for the rest of my time here on earth. I wanted to email a photo of what was going on with the pipe under my kitchen sink so I could get an IDEA of WHAT was going on with the leak. Ryan at Stephens Plumbing was the first company out of many to allow me to send an email on this problem. Ok, first test passed in my mind. Finding help for your home is a lot like a relationship. If it starts out BAD in the beginning, its NOT going to get ANY better. Ryan worked with my busy schedule, and got a guy to come on a Saturday morning. Frank showed up and was GREAT. Figured out the PROBLEM that the original sink was higher and the new sink was causing pressure which created a leaky pipe. My husband and I have dealt with Stephens for quite now for plumbing issues and have always been very satisfied with their work. About a month ago we asked for a quote to replace our heater and to install a new air conditioning system. The quote was extremely reasonable as compared to others that we got. We decided to go with them based on our past experience with them and the reasonableness of the quote. Everything turned out just wonderfully. They did an outstanding job and were always very prompt and worked very efficiently. Freddy was in charge of the work and took great pride in doing the job very properly. His assistant was very helpful too and they got the job done in good time. They showed us what they were doing each step of the way to assure and inform us what was being done. Freddy had to do ALOT of extra work to get the condenser installed properly outside but worked at it diligently until it was. It was so additionally helpful as there was electrical work involved with this work and the quote included Stephens getting that all sorted out for us. They also pulled the permits and set up the inspection too. In the end when all was done we were so pleased that there were no surprise additions to the quote. That is so often not the case when you get a quote. We would HIGHLY recommend Stephens. read more

They lost my business due to terrible customer service. I called in the morning and the plumber was supposed to come out that afternoon by 4pm. After 4pm, I called and was told the plumber came out but nobody answered and a note was left at the front door. However, no one called saying that they were on their way out, nor that they were at the door waiting. Also, no card was left on the door. They may well have gone to the wrong address (the streets in my condo unit are similar), but not calling just seems odd and usually a signal to me that the service person never showed up to begin with (this is not a common thing with me in regards to deliveries). I did speak to someone a few days later to confirm this story and to confirm my address, but, of course, it was too late. I already had a poor first impression of this company and can't risk trusting my plumbing emergencies to them anymore. And I had already called another plumber to take care of the problem. read more

I have used Stephens twice and both times they were great! Most recently I had Stephens fix a serious leak and Mr. Williams was fantastic. He diagnosed the problem and thoroughly reviewed plans to repair it. He went over the piping being used and kept invasive holes to run the piping to a bare minimum. Where do I start.This review is primarily for customer service, Joanne in particular. This was our first time working with this company. When making the appointment for them to come look at our air conditioning unit I had to explain over and over again I understand you charge $150 per hour. I had said I just wanted to pay for one hour of them looking at the unit just to diagnose the problem not fix the problem. They had tried to encourage otherwise and say it might take longer. I insisted that I only wanted to pay for an hour of work to diagnose the problem. Since they work with commercial businesses I had assumed they would know procedures when working with a commercial business. They never asked me what shopping center I was located in to determine insurances. As I have never experienced working with an Air conditioning unit fixer I had no idea. Upon their arrival the man did not have his insurance and had needed to send the insurance to the property management to get it approved. The gentleman I had talked to on the phone was different from the person they sent to fix the issue. The gentleman that came to help was very friendly and nice. He understood that he shouldn't be paid until he actually comes and diagnoses the problem as we had discussed. The man on the phone called and was demanding that I pay him very rudely and anxiously/ desperately. I said I have no problem paying him, I said I will sign something but I will not pay him until he goes onto the roof and does his hour of work. This was just the first incident. The next time they send someone else to come out once the insurance finally gets approved after me calling because they hadn't sent it yet. The guy diagnoses the issues and we approve for him to do those fixes a total of $391.68 to replace blown fuses, heavily restricted filters, and worn fan belt AND I stated as long as those things he does will fix our air conditioning unit I approve. Once he comes to fix those items he comes down and says we need to replace the motor and it's going to be 1,700 dollars!! What?! You did not diagnose that the first time you were here. He had stated that he needed the other things working before he could even tell the motor was working. So I understood. He was nice enough to discount the initial repairs from the motor cost. From a few estimates I had received when calling other heating & air conditioning unit companies the feedback I got was the price of the motor & repair was very expensive repair compared to what others had quoted. Let me clarify I had already paid him for the price of the motor and all repairs prior to getting estimates. This is when after the repairs have been made I called and Joanne had picked up. Joanne has had nothing but a terrible terrible attitude. She is the one that picks up the phone every single time I had called. I had called to ask for the price of the motor because I want to make sure I was paying a fair price. I had told her that I the gentleman they sent said it was "around 1,000 dollars" but he couldn't tell me the exact amount. That sounded very shady to me. So I was simply calling to ask for the price of the motor. After telling me 5 times "I feel like you are on a witch hunt" she finally caved in and said I will email you the price of the motor. She also said how can they give you an estimate over the phone they would have to go out to the property to see, she said they were just trying to get my business. I understand how this may be true, but why was she so unnecessarily rude just when I was simply asking for the price of the motor. After a week no email had been sent to me with the motor price, I had called again she said I will send it first thing in the morning. A few days go by no email, I call again. She said again I will send it first thing in the morning. Still nothing. Oh and by the way during our first discussion she had also said "I don't want to see any bad reviews on yelp" I never even brought up writing a bad review, but thanks to her she planted the seed in my head. She also said I feel like you are trying to get money out of us. I NEVER once asked her for money back. I don't mind paying a fair price, but how can I know if I am paying a fair price if you do not give me the price of the motor? I will never use this company again. read more
