I reached out to several plumbing companies on Yelp, and Camco Rooters was the most responsive by far. While many others sent robotic or automated replies, their team actually responded like real people and made the process easy from the start. My situation wasn't an emergency, just a leak from the toilet, and their first technician told me it would be under $300 to repair. Later, when they came back on Monday, a different technician named Pedro inspected the issue more thoroughly and found additional problems that needed to be addressed. The total ended up being much higher, around $1700, but I appreciated that he took the time to show me exactly what was wrong and explain why each repair mattered. I looked at the reviews and was impressed with how quickly they responded to our issue and they dispatched a technician. What we thought was a simple clog, was discovered to be much more involved. The camera scope that was used, revealed roots had seeped into the pipes causing the blockage. Camco was quick to respond to my request with an estimate range and scheduling an appointment. My issue isn't with their initial interaction or work, but with the customer service and communication when no one showed up during my appointment window. The work went well (replacing an outdoor hose bib) however the contractor did not show up in their scheduled window and it was only when I called afterwards that I got an explanation. Their plumber was in a car accident - which I totally understand is out of their control and why they missed their window - but I would have appreciated a proactive update. The original window was from 9-11, I didn't get a response/explanation from them until 11:30. And then when we rescheduled that afternoon, they also missed their scheduled window and showed up late. Because this was a rental property, the work that I expected to be completed between 9-11am did not get completed until 2pm.
