Stevelly"s is the best restaurant in Battle Lake, hands down! Reminiscent of an old time supper club, but with modern menus and updates with style, this famous place has wonderful food. The chef is known for his BBQ Ribs (fall of the bone), twice baked potatoes made from scratch, as well as amazing beer cheese soup. The halibut is stupendous, and even their simple dinner salad (that comes with dinner) hits home even if you are not a health nut. Moved to the area in the last year and have visited twice. Service is excellent, steaks are prepared perfectly (I prefer medium rare). Have had the New York Strip, Ribeye, and Chicken &Ribs specials. Usually have 4 desserts on the menu and we have had Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and the Carrot Cake. Lovely experience every time we visit. read more

We were served by the friendly granddaughter of the owners: Steve and Shelly. She was efficient and helped us decide what to order: seafood stuffed chicken and broiled walleye. We both chose the Philly cheesecake soup at our waitress' suggestion and it was cheesy and salty and excellent. Our entrees were cooked to perfection and came with sides, I choose broccoli and my boyfriend had twice baked potatoes--num! We drank water and the bill was $61 and I didn't appreciate the sad 70s music, but other than that, give it a try! read more

Meh. Nothing about this place is remarkable. We sat inside. The drink menu is limited. Low end wines and standard bar cocktails. Nothing special or interesting, like at the rusty nail. I had broasted chicken and broccoli. Basically a fried chicken with little flavor and boiled brocolli. Tasteless. The servers mask was falling off her face. Useless attempt. Prices very reasonable. It's a nice little joint but our food was a little above average. We ordered the ribs which were okay. No smoky flavor at all as I think they were baked and a little dry. Also ordered the half broasted chicken and it was cooked fine but had no flavor in the seasoning and chicken didn't seem that fresh. Kid got the chicken Alfredo and it was better than most restaurants as it had some flavor but they forgot the chicken. And discovered this GEM tonight for Prime Rib which was priced affordable and the BEST Prime Rib I have ever had. My other favorite is in California called the Derby which many Race Track owners, and trainers and public go. But , Stevelly's is by far a GEM. One would say deserves a 5 star rating . It is so important this summer to visit Stevelly's and have their 5 star Prime Rib. They should be so proud of themselves for making a Prime Rib better than any I have ever tasted. We travel a lot. Well this is officially the worst steak house I have ever been to. The calamari seemed like it was from a box, the steak was super fatty and burnt, and when I told the server that it was nasty and I couldn't eat anymore she didn't care and tried to sell me more food. Battle Lake is fortunate to have this gem of a restaurant. The food and service is excellent. Everything I have eaten here is delicious. We chose this establishment for an early dinner on a Saturday evening. The other two places we wanted to try didn't open until 5 pm so we ended up here. Really glad we did! Our server was pretty new, but did an awesome job. I had steak & ribs, with a twice baked potato (I would return for the potato alone!). The dinner salad was pretty measly but that's a minor complaint! My steak was cooked to perfection and the ribs were melt in your mouth tender. Ambience is great! Sun room is a quant atmosphere. I had the halibut which was superb, my son had the ribs with homemade bbq sauce which was sweet and spicy!
