We've been going to Steven Luzzi Automotive for years and have always received outstanding service. Steve is an intelligent and excellent mechanic! He seems to only recommend work to is truly needed and that will be in your best interest. I've never felt as if I was talked into work that wasn't necessary. And he takes his time to explain his work. Every time you bring your car in for an oil change, he automatiically looks over the whole vehicle for anything that might need attention. If he sees something that is the not urgent but may needed fixing or replacing in the future, he gives you a heads up and then keeps clear records of it. Then the next time you bring your car in, he automatically pulls those records to follow up with the particular issue. Sometimes, it turns out the potential problem turns out to be nothing - i.e. never WAS a problem, just looked like it MAY have become a problem and needed a smart mechanic to keep an eye on it. Steve is highly ethical and professional, And he understands that the only way to make money (long range) is to keep customers happy and loyal. The shop can get pretty crowded due to his popularity. So we've found the best thing to do is drop the car off before he opens and leave the car (he has a drop box for your key) with a note explaining the problem. That way we're positioned at the front of the line. We are so grateful to have this shop as a resource. I am so impressed with Steve's honest service. I took in my SUV because my dealer told me It needed new front brakes. It turns out that Steve checked them out and I can still drive safely another 5,000 miles before I have to replace them. He was honest, shuttled my little boys and me home safely. In addition, he brought my car back home and had one of his mechanics take him back to the shoppe. It is so refreshing to meet an honest mechanic. I found him by googling mechanics in Downey and after talking to a few I immediately got a good vibe from talking to him. I have been taking my car to Steve Luzzi Automotive for years. Unfortunately I was in OC when I thought my brakes were going out and couldn't drive to Downey (it was later in the afternoon and I live in OC) so I took it to another car repair place who is very well known for tires and brakes. They did a vehicle inspection and said nothing was wrong with my brakes and sent me on my way. The minute I got into my car I knew they missed something. I could hear a noise and the brakes were hard to press. Instead of taking it back to them I drove home and took it to Steve first thing this morning. I told Steve exactly what I told the other repair place and he knew in a minute what the problem was and it was fixed very fast. I will never take my car anywhere else. Steve Luzzi automotive is a business that treat customers with respect. Steve runs his business like "old school" putting the needs of each customer first. I moved from the Downey area and still continue to drive the 25 miles round trip to have him work on my car. Steve also provides a ride home if the customer needs one. In fact they picked me up and gave me a ride to pick up my car after I had to have it towed for repairs. Steve and all the mechanics who work there are honest and hard working. They do not do work on the car that is not needed, and always check over the car to ensure the safety of the car owner. I have been going to Steve since the 1980's. Very trustworthy and dependable--never in all those years have I had to take my car back for any reason at all! My latest vehicle is a 2004 Toyota 4Runner with nearly 300k miles on her--I have only gotten oil checks, new tires and brakes, I attribute this fact to the quality workmanship of Steve and his associates. Not one major issue is all those years and miles. I have referred business to Steve in the past. Being a loyal customer I get coupons in the mail, but always forget to bring them in. I trust Steve and his team because they are honest and will go out of their way to help. I take my current car to him for regular servicing and it runs almost like new. We tried Steve Luzzi when my daughter's Mini Cooper was finally off dealer warranty. He was so honest and fair in his dealings with us that I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have dealt with so many mechanics who assume I don't know cars and throw technical jargon the way a lot of doctors throw medicalize to intimidate. Not so with Steve. He tells you what he found and what it will take to fix it. I had a confusing electrical problem that he diagnosed quickly and repaired just as quickly when, if dishonest, he could have easily told me it needed a new alternator easily. My car was making a sound in the front end and we couldn't figure it out. They literally got down in the motor compartment while.
