I'm a little disappointed in this dentist. I came in as a new patient with a toothache. $150 later, he referred me to another dentist for a CT scan of the tooth in question. $350 later, l only needed teeth cleaning; l had missed one during Covid. What upset me was l already received an estimate for $2500 from him that l didn't need, and no phone call to schedule a cleaning, with perhaps a slight discount from HIM, not thinking of teeth cleaning before he sent me on to another dentist. Hmm...$500 later, and l still need my teeth cleaned. No follow-up? read more

I first came to see Dr Streelman when I was having a toothache. I am new to the area and it had been about a yr since I'd seen a dentist so I did the internet special for $79! My cleaning was thorough and comfortable. The toothache required a root canal -- Dr Streelman recommended a specialist so now I'm back for a crown. Dr Streelman and his team are professional, friendly and thoroughly answered all of my questions. After each visit I received a followup call from Dr Streelman himself checking on my wellbeing. I've had 3 visits so far with this office, and each one has been pretty good as far as dental visits go. Each of the employees I have encountered have been professional and very thorough in providing me with what to expect at each appointment. Dr. Streelman seems to be personable and tries to connect with you on a social issue as to build rapport, which I like. The office has remembered me each time, and that is such a pleasant surprise since they seem like a very busy practice. Dr. Streelman has been my dentist since I moved to Carlsbad six years ago and I am very happy with all of the services I have received. The doctor is friendly, gentle and spends plenty of time explaining planned procedures and answering any questions. At other dental offices I have been to in the past it seemed like you saw a different hygienist each visit but not here -- Lauren has been taking great care of me since my first appointment and she makes each visit enjoyable. Anna, who works out front and handles your insurance is great -- I have never had any problems with insurance claims or unexpected costs. Up until now, my experiences with dental offices have been largely negative. I'm so happy to report that the two visits I've had with my new dentist Dr. Streelman have been anything but! The staff is professional and caring, like you actually matter to them! I had a very nice conversation with the dental assistant (sorry her name escapes me at the moment) and she answered my questions on teeth whitening - thanks! I feel for the first time in a long time I was given an honest assessment of the work I needed and Dr. Streelman certainly seems to know what he is doing. I went to Dr Streelman several years ago but left because he did not accept my insurance. I should never have left his practice! I am back so he can fix some issues created by another dentist. I learned the hard way that it is more important to go to a dentist you can trust and feel confident in. Dr. Streelman is awesome! He's a really great dentist and really easy to talk to and easy going. He's not going to do all this unnecessary procedures just so he can make extra money on you which can be hard to find in dentistry. I saw him for a cleaning and a few wisdom teeth cavities that I had. He doesn't normally perform wisdom teeth extractions, and referred me elsewhere for the surgery itself. Otherwise, my visit went perfectly. The people that work at his office are exceptionally nice, from his secretaries to his dental assistants to his hygienist. In addition, the dentist himself is quite knowledgeable, and has an easy going but competent bedside manner. Dr Streelman took x-rays and explained in detail what issues with my teeth he was concerned with. He subsequently gave me three filings and I am really happy with the work he did. I decided to look for a new dentist closer to my home. The dentist I had prior was pushing for work I didn't really need and it was quite costly. I have been coming to Dr. Streelman since 2013 and have been impressed at the professionalism of him and his staff. Before I started coming to Dr. Streelman I was in the military, and the dentist there were very impersonal and really didn't care to much how the patient felt, it was just, "this is what we need to do" type of attitude. Dr Streelman would personally call by the end of the day to inquire about if I was feeling ok or had any concerns about the procedure or follow up plan. I thought that really made the difference between a dentist who really cares for his patients than one who generally cares. The staff takes the time to insure all matters concerning my dental insurance are addressed and if not they would contact the insurance provider on what needs to happen so they're no surprises when payments due. I will continue using Dr. Streelman for all my dentist needs or the specialists he recommends. I highly recommend Dr. Streelman. read more
