Dr. Teitelbaum is amazing. I interviewed 5 plastic surgeons for my first plastic surgery at the age of 40, boobs. Dr. Teitelbaum was available to see me several times before I ever committed to him as my surgeon or paid him one cent. He spent a lot of time with me and never made me feel like I was over staying or annoying him. I told him I wanted a classy and natural look and that's exactly what I got. He was honest with me about the potential downsides (seeing the outline of the implant since my skin is so thin and I was starting out so flat). He cautioned me about going to big for that same reason. I ended up with 34c and started with a Flat Wall. My chest is beautiful and I have no weird deep canyon like Tori Spelling. His staff was equally wonderful. I felt 100% confident that if there were any problems I could've called and been seen by Dr. Teitelbaum any hour of the day/night. I did go see Garth Fisher who i was certain i was going to use until i met him. He was completely the opposite of Dr. Teitelbaum. Garth, who deosn't deserve the respect of being referred to as Dr. Fisher made you feel like you were wasting his time and that was only after he wasted an hour of mine in his waiting room. Once he finally saw me he gave me a 20 minute blurb (compared to every other doctor's hour to hour and 1/2) on breast augmentation and then i had to ask him where he cuts, apparently that isn't included in his 20 minute, $500 consultation fee, the only doctor who charges that for a consult. He made me feel so awkward. He was so so glad to hear that I had never had plastic surgery but made me feel like a loser for asking questions. He sort of just looked at me like, "are you serious?". I made some comment on a woman's boobs in a picture that was in his office. I said she looked good and he said, "yes she does," in a creepy single guy sort of way. My consult with him went excellent and I was able to book out my surgery for a week after my initial consult. The post op recovery was fantastic as he promised. I only used ibuprofen. I was looking for a surgeon to perform a breast augmentation operation on me when I fortunately came across Dr. Teitelbaum in the Allure magazine. I was instantly captivated by his outstanding background and grounded philosophy regarding breast augmentation. A woman's breast should be proportionate, graceful, and feminine and should look as close as possible to real breasts without any evident signs of surgery. Immediately, I felt excited with the prospect of being restored after nursing three babies and naturally losing my volume and shape. I selected Dr. Teitelbaum as my surgeon because of his extensive experience and notable recognition in the field of breast augmentation which assured me that I would be in excellent hands. I also selected Dr. Teitelbaum as my surgeon because of his expertise in measuring the breast to perfection so the results are natural and the breast tissue is kept healthy. In fact, Dr. Teitelbaum's first words upon our first meeting were, "We have to make sure we preserve your tissues." All in all I had two breast augmentation surgeries with Dr. Teitelbaum and during both operations he was attentive, thoughtful, and conscientious of my expectations; he delivered exactly what I asked of him each time and there were no surprises. Initially, during my first operation I decided to go smaller (240cc) than what he originally recommended. However, after reflecting on my new breast size, and although I was pleased with the outcome, I decided it would be in my best interest to have a second operation using the implant size Dr. Teitelbaum initially recommended (300cc). Immediately after both of my operations my breasts looked completely natural, proportionate, and symmetrical which is a reflection of Dr. Teitelbaum's surgical abilities and artistic aesthetic. Both of my recoveries were flawless and I had very little swelling, pain, and bruising. I hardly needed any pain medication or any special massages following my surgeries, although I did experience some minor soreness and a slight feeling of tightness which quickly dissipated. Twice I have been astounded by Dr. Teitelbaum's precise surgical techniques. Following both surgeries I was able to shower and go out to dinner the same day. It is unbelievable that with each passing month my breasts look and feel more and more natural. At this point, ten months after my second surgery, I cannot even tell that I have implants because they feel so natural. In fact, if it wasn't for those small incisions I would say these are my original breasts. They are perfect in size, shape, symmetry, and are harmonious with my build and frame. These superb results are the exact reason I selected Dr. Teitelbaum to be my surgeon not once but twice. To any woman a beautiful pair of breasts is a reflection of youth, beauty, and allure. If anyone ever wanted to know what was wrong with the health insurance and medical field, then they should look no further than this place.I had a congenital disorder with one of my breasts, since I was a teenager. I waited till after I had a baby to get it fixed. Although many Hollywood friends told me to go to another doctor, I liked the reviews Dr. Teitelbaum received online, and saw an article he wrote for Allure Magazine. I dared to be different, and decided on Dr. Teitelbaum as my physician. My wonderful insurance company (no, I'm not being facetious), gave pre-authorization for me to have my surgery. Due to the fact that Dr. Teitelbaum's office does not often receive insurance payments, I was told that I would have to pay for my surgery, in full, up-front. I was a little frustrated. After all, I would have to take a capital gains hit, removing it from my savings, but truly a minor hurdle in my dream of having my breasts the same size. I paid for my surgery, and figured that I would pay one of my husband's billing associates to help collect the money from my insurance afterwards. After my surgery, Dr. Teitelbaum's office sent me paperwork offering to help with the billing, for a % of the amount that I would receive. The percent they offered was a little higher than average, but I figured that since they already had the surgery notes, and CPT codes that it would be fine to pay the overpriced fee to have it done. Note here: paperwork was given after surgery (a big no-no in the medical field), and sent to me while I was still under the affects of anesthesia. Sounds all good, right? No. Not when his office collected more money than I had paid from my insurance company, and refuses to give it back to me. They sent me 10% of the amount I paid to them, and in an email stated that they only received "some money" from my insurance company. Now they've collected over 100% more than the invoice. I've tried to call, and they don't return my calls. I've emailed, and they don't reply. I contacted my insurance, who said that since he is not a contracted provider, he should have never collected a check on my behalf. In addition, the insurance company has tried to contact them on my behalf, and they said that no one answers the phone, and there has been no option to leave a voicemail. So, now what? I guess an attorney. Writing the editors of Allure. It's no longer about the money; it's about ethics, and moral values. I'm truly sad that a doctor, and office, that I thought was a respectable place, turned out to be so awfully amoral.Please chose wisely, people. Don't even bother going to anyone else. I had a ruptured saline implant. I had it removed and have silicone replaced in both. I am a physician so I choose my medical care with a very different view than a "non medical" person. First, he is an expertly skilled surgeon. Second, he has a beautiful aesthetic view. Thirdly, he uses and anesthesiologist and is close to a hospital is there were complications. Fourth, my recovery was so easy. Literally the next day I took a walk on the beach (albeit it short - but really ? one day post op ? ). I am 5'4'' and 115lbs Not overweight by any stretch. But always had a pretty significant contouring problem on my inner and outer thigh to the point i have avoided pants, quit ballet, no bathing suits---if you are on this site--im sure you get it---since i was a teenager. He said don't do the backside of the thigh because of the buttocks falling. Dont do the stomach there is not enough fat. I appreciated the honesty. He said the arms there was just enough fat. The legs are great candidates---that i had firm skin, LITTLE TO NO CELLULITE, and i was a healthy, in shape person. He even went to say i had quite a bit of fat on top of my thigh and so that everything looks proportional --to take out the front and top of the sides of my legs (circumferential) liposuction. Again, I appreciated the honesty-- I was already spending a pretty penny-- I don't think it was about getting 3 more grand out of me--He is also considered to be a pretty conservative doctor and doesn't appear on some makeover show every week in the hollywood circles--again, i appreciated he was about the work. I did everything I was supposed to post op-- wore the garments correctly sized.I did all my exercises despite IMMESE PAIN!!!! Not from the augmentation but from the liposuction. IMMESE PAIN!!!!! Pretty intense. They look extremely abnormal for a girl in her 20s. As soon as my arms are slightly bent--there are the ridges. Now, for the legs--he even quoted in my post op almost 6 months out "Oh I don't know if there is anything we can do about that..." My legs are FULLLLLL of what APPEARS to be cellulite/ OR SCAR TISSUE--massive massive, deep, very deep DIVOTS EVERYWHERE!!!!! I am a health provider and had the privilege to have a patient (a big wig) that works at Mentor in my chair. I asked him who he would send his wife/daughter/sister to for a post baby and breast feeding breast augmentation and that I was seeking very natural looking breasts. All I wanted was to "fill" up the tissue I had left after breast feeding 2 kids and I was only 32. I didn't want to live the rest of my life with hanging breast skin. He answered, without hesitation, Dr Steven Teiltebaum in Santa Monica. I had an appointment within a week. Dr. T listened to my request, concerns and most importantly, told me that he would only create natural looking breasts and reassured me that I would not have "cantaloupes" on my chest. How do you describe in a few short sentences a truly remarkable experience with a creative genius? My encounter with Dr Teitelbaum came through a "google" search from my dear sweet mom. What can I say other than the old adage stands true still today..."Mother knows best". Upon meeting Dr Teitelbaum, in the first few minutes there was no doubt in my mind that he was my doctor. A brilliantly skilled artist and fabulous educator, Dr Teitelbaum is in one word brilliant. I scheduled a consult for a rhinoplasty and breast augmentation. After careful examination, Dr Teitelbaum not only told me my breasts were "about the prettiest he had ever seen", he recommended that I not have them done. On my petite frame, he could not see the benefit of "slightly bigger" at risk of affecting their shape. On the other hand, Dr Teitelbaum said I would benefit from a rhinoplasty. I loved the way he spoke about my nose. He said "your nose belongs on someone else's face." (Such a classy way to insinuate that really there are no bad noses, just that some noses do not match a certain face). I am so thankful for his honesty and genuine position. I normally don't take the time to write a review, but I just felt compelled to so in this case. Dr Teitelbuam was a referral so I made an appointment to see him based on my friends advise and personal experience. From the moment I walked into Dr. Teitelbuam's office, the staff was so warm and helpful. That was only a prelude to how wonderful Dr. Teitelbaum was. I wasn't sure exactly how I wanted to move ahead with the procedure I was having done. It was something that I had put off for a very long time because I knew it was going to be a tough surgery. I went with my husband and we discussed all my options. He gave me the pros and cons of all my options and was very patient and thorough in answering ALL of my questions. When I finally set my appointment to do the surgery, the woman who books it for you could not have been nicer. Again, I asked bunch of questions and she took the time to go through everything with me. As I got closer to the surgery date, I must have called her three times and every time, she took my call and answered any concerns I had. The day of the surgery, the staff was so kind. Dr. Teitelbaum came in to see if I had any questions before they took me to the surgery room. He went through everything he was going to be doing and just doubled checked that I was ok with everything. I said yes I was. When I got home from the surgery, I was in a lot of pain from the needle that is put in your arm to drain fluids. I called Dr. Teitelbaum three days later on a Sunday and he immediately called me back. He told me that he hated those needles, but they needed to be there as a drain and he prescribed some more pain pills for me and told me not to hesitate to call him again if I needed him. I was so impressed with his calling me back so quickly and how kind he was to listen to everything I was telling me. He didn't try to rush me off the phone at all and made sure that I had asked him everything I needed to ask of him. How often does that happen with a doctor!!!! On a Sunday no less. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Teitelbaum and his amazing staff. The result's from the procedure surpassed any and all expectations. He is a master at what he does and I would highly recommend him to anyone. My case was an extremely tough case and you would never know it from the results. I came to see Dr. Teitelbaum with severe capsular constriction of implants. Dr. Teitelbaum addressed my concerns with care, patience and great expertise. We looked at possibility of complete removal vs replacement. I chose replacement because of lack of breast tissue. The surgery and recovery was seamless. The nurses specifically, Audrey were exceptional in the level of care and follow up I received. I must interject that I personally think it is very important that a potential patient has done his or her homework about the procedure they are considering. Ask intelligent questions, read information and see videos of the Dr. as well as the procedure. It made my initial appointment more fulfilling and gave an extra level of comfort to proceed with the procedure. Dr. Teitelbaum was the best choice. I was very happy with my decision and results. After waiting a decade to fix the diastasis I got from having two very large babies, I am thrilled with the results of my recent abdominoplasty. I consulted with eight different plastic surgeons before choosing Dr. Teitelbaum, and now that I'm on the other side of the surgery, I can only be very thankful to have found him. He listened to me carefully, and gave me exactly what I wanted. He is serious, very smart, and surrounds himself with excellent staff. If you want a great surgeon with a laser focus, he's the guy. He's also very concerned with pain control. I experienced virtually no pain after the surgery. Some discomfort, of course, but nothing bad. Recovery was considerably less uncomfortable than my c-sections. I also highly recommend Serenity for after care, especially if you have young children. Procedure: breast augmentation TWICE by the same doctor. Once to unsuccessfully "correct" bottoming out. How are my breasts natural when you can see the incision line 1 inch above my crease? ?wish I looked at the "hidden reviews" in fine print at the bottoms of the yelp reviews before my breast augmentation. Basically, breasts bottomed out 2" above natural creases. After many unanswered calls and "it went into junk mail" e-mails, my persistent phone calls finally went through. Received a breast revision to correct bottoming out. A couple years later and my breasts are bottoming out again. Doctor never ever followed up with me. Karen left a voice message the next day. I had to follow up. I had to ask for a follow up appointment. And after a few months I asked for another follow up where I inquired about my bottoming out a received the cold shoulder from Dr T. Karen words everything so they both can't get sued. All I want is a straight answer. They act like it's not a traumatic experience going through a surgical procedure once let alone TWICE!! Going under is the scariest thing in the world! Like dying and not knowing if you'll wake up! It scary doctors! You can afford some empathy DR T!!!! The comments about Dr T's arrogance is 100% correct. If he does a good job then you don't have to risk his insolence. If he does a bad job, good luck correcting it. But who likes playing Russian roulette with their body? Find someone else. I have to now. Here's to another $10,000. At least my research will be better. read more

I was beyond pleased with my entire surgical experience at the office of Dr.Teitelbaum. My biggest concern prior to surgery was having a quick, easy recovery. Granted I was a bit out of it due to the pain medication and a bit sore, which is to be expected. Other than that I was able to move around, function, and take care of myself. A friend of mine recently was planning the same surgery with another Dr. I told her it was, "No sweat! Easier than a root canal!" As this was my experience. Unfortunately, her surgery went much differently. She reported she was on the couch for 72 hours, extremely uncomfortable, in pain, and needed her husbands help when going to the restroom. I did not go through any of that, and was really surprised to hear such a drastic contrast between her experience and mine. My surgical experience was great all around. From the first time I walked into the office, and continuing through post surgery. The staff is pleasant and professional, the office impressive, and Dr. Teitelbaum is clearly a skilled and talented surgeon. I would describe my breasts as perfect. The size fits my frame, they look natural, and have a good shape. In reviews I read about Dr. Teitelbaum he was revered for the speedy recovery as well as producing a natural look. BEST surgery existence ever! I had a breast revision, ( this was my second revision) , so results can be tricky. But the results are perfect. Better than ever. My husband even raves about it to his friends! Dr. Teitelbaum is an extremely knowledgable, caring and excellent doctor. I went to him with 15 year old saline implants which felt like baseballs on my chest, looked very uneven and were quite uncomfortable. Also since I have scoliosis one side looked much bigger than the other side. Luckily Dr. T is very experienced in redoing these types of "problem" implants. He gave me saline implants for a more natural feel which is what I wanted, plus he was able to make them look even despite the scoliosis. I was looking for natural, comfortable implants consistent with my body size and that is exactly what he gave me - I am thrilled. I only wish I had gone sooner instead of suffering with the old ones for so long. Also, all of the staff at his office are genuinely kind and concerned and they go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Dr. T was always available to answer my questions and even met me at his office over the weekend to accommodate my schedule. I had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Teitelbaum on November 1, 2012. It's been over a full year... and I cannot put into words how beyond thrilled I am with the results. I went from an A-cup to a full C-cup; most importantly, my breasts are soft, totally natural looking- no unnatural bulge at the top, no ripples near the edges - literally, there is NO indication they are not 100% real. I opted for the "gummy bears" and my breasts have a lovely natural tear-drop shape. I had the procedure done on a Thursday afternoon - was back in my office & driving by Monday morning. Strongest pain med's I needed was Advil-nothing else. I was showing them off just weeks later at Christmas parties!! Upon setting the consultation appointment, Dr. T's office mailed me literature and information for my review. They went out of their way to make sure I could make a fully informed decision. Dr. T took pictures of my breasts pre-surgery, and using incredible 3-D enhancing imagery software, he was able to provide me with incredibly accurate pictures of what my breasts would look like after surgery. I can say, having had the surgery and looking back at those 3D pictures (I kept them) -they were remarkably accurate. Dr. T himself was charming, friendly, confident - everything I needed to feel safe moving forward with this procedure. He answered every single one of my questions (I brought a legal pad of paper with a list of questions & took notes); he reviewed all aspects of the procedure, and explained to me in detail what to expect afterwards. He gave me his time and I did not feel like he was "selling" me anything. After seeing the 3D images, his beautiful office, meeting him & his lovely staff, having all the information I could need right at my fingertips - the decision was very simple. The follow-up after the surgery was great. He gave me specific instructions for recovery and provided me with his personal cell phone number, an emergency back-office phone number, and after-hours office phone number. I did call him on his cell phone on Saturday, the day after surgery (non-emergency related) - he picked up on the 2nd ring and answered my question. I waited years to make this decision - it was not something I decided on a whim, and I'm so grateful that I went Dr. Steven Teitelbaum. I highly recommend him to anyone seriously considering breast augmentation. What can I say about Dr. Teitelbaum! I liked him the moment he stepped into the room. He was welcoming, friendly,and extremely knowledgeable. Same goes for his staff! Vicki went above and beyond to help me out I can't thank her enough. My day of surgery I was a bit nervous, but knew I was in good hands. Any question I had was answered without hesitation. My surgery went AWESOME!!! I woke up and felt great, sore and in a little pain of course, but nonetheless very happy! My recovery time went super smooth I have to say I have been very lucky. I would do it all over again in a heart beat! My boobs are amazing as well I love them! I touch them all the time and can't believe I actually have boobs now. Dr. Teitelbaum did a great job, so much so that most people think my boobs are my own. It has been almost two months since my surgery and they feel soft and are setting in nicely. I had my breast augmentation with Dr. Teitelbaum 6 months ago. Incredibly arrogant human being, I chose him because I thought he was a talented surgeon but he is actually a butcher. He bullied me into a smaller size than I wanted by saying that my result will be more natural. Dr. Teitelbaum promised that I would be a C cup but I actually ended up with a B cup. He recommended an incision under my crease and he told me that a 1 inch cut would be made and that it would be in the crease, a very small incision was needed since I was getting saline implants put in. I don't understand why he made the incisions so long. I woke up with 6 inch cuts and now they are 6 inch scars. He pretty much cut along the bottom of my entire breast. I am just happy that I did not have the nipple incision, he would have cut along my entire aerola to put in the implant. Dr. Teitelbaum recommended the dual plane placement which I later learned is not recommended to do with a crease incision because the scars may ride up, which happened to me. Now I have huge 6 inch scars that have ridden up 1 and half inches from my crease. I went to get a second opinion to see why my scars were not in the crease, when the new doctor saw my scars, he could not believe it , he turned to his assistant and said "have you ever seen anything like this, I never make that big of an incision for silicone implants let alone for saline"....."He asked me if my surgeon was an old guy that uses old techniques"...... then he followed that up with " I am so sorry this happened to you, it is not suppose to be like that" . The new doctor told me that, Dr. Teitlebaum should not have used the crease incision if he was going to do dual plane, that I have minor bottoming out, that he also should not have used dissolvable sutures on a crease incision because they cause hard scars, that one of my breasts is lower than the other, I also have a gap and that since he underfilled my implant i have quite a bit of wrinkling on the bottom of the breast, and not enough volume on the top. Dr. Teitelbaum sells himself on how he can make natural looking implants, I ended up with underfilled, bottoming out and scarred breasts. How could anyone ever think that my breasts are natural when they have 6 inch scars that are 1 1/2 inch above my crease. Horrible experience, now I have to get a new breast augmentation to fix all the mistakes that he has made. I have to have another surgery to tuck in the scars, even out my breast, fix the gap and fill them in, which is going to cost me more than the original surgery since it is a revision. I would never let Dr. Teitelbaum the butcher touch me again as nobody else should. read more

Dr. Teitelbaum is a hidden treasure!!!! I am so glad that I was referred to him, otherwise I would not have found him! I am beyond pleased with my breast augmentation. His website (and my referral for that matter), boasted about his 24 hour recovery. I didn't believe it, until I experienced it. IT'S ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!! I, along with my husband and friends could not believe that I experienced zero pain. Many of my friends have had augmentations and would explain how painful the surgery was. I was reluctant to have it done because of the horror stories! His surgery is quick and painless. All you need is a little Ibuprofen, and you are good to go....I even went out for dinner that night! My experience with Dr. Teitelbaum and his staff was exceptional...from the first phone call..to my first visit. i walked into his office and immediately felt at ease...a very sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. My visit with Dr. T was honest & professional, thorough, and insightful. Having had past breast augmentations I was seeing him for a breast revision , lift and I had severe in capsulation and loss of breast tissue which would entail much more than a typical breast augmentation. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Dr. Teielbaum and his staff. The care from his office was perfect. I had several consults with various doctors all over the Los Angeles and Bay Area. Even though I live in Northern California I decided to fly down and have Dr. Teitelbaum do my surgery.
