Terrible! My husband's meal came out first - salad came last and so did the bread. My meal was served after my husband finished his. The waiter was unfriendly and not interested in taking a minute to say hello. He pretty much slid the plates on the table and ran off. Not going back. Wow. We traveled to Marion this past weekend to see family and decided to try an old stand by favorite. This place has gone downhill exponentially. I ordered the large sirloin medium rare. The outside was completely burned. My wife and sister ordered the stuffed mushrooms and both said that there was very little crab meat and the flavors weren't great at all. My other sister ordered the chopped steak which had some chicken pieces on the plate. I cannot say we will be back. Too bad-their food used to be top notch read more

I had complained about 3 months ago that our Valentine's Day dinner was a disaster there, but, wanted you all to know that the management contacted me and my wife and made things right with a free dinner and good service. Service was ok- our hostess seemed tired or something and was not the friendliest. Our first server got overwhelmed since we were a party of 5 plus an infant so they gave us another server who was really nice. Their rolls were flavorless and cold and the butter was good but didn't really go with the boring bread. They were out of salmon so I ordered the apple bourbon chicken which was ok but on the bland side...the Brie cheese was more like mozzarella and stringy or gooey or whatever, the apples were canned I could definitely tell and cold - but I did get huge baked potato though. Also their salad was just iceberg lettuce a tomato wedge and one slice of cucumber ...the blue cheese salad dressing tasted meh like Kraft salad dressing perhaps. My husband said the ranch on his salad tasted kinda gross. We went to this place years ago and it was delicious but apparently not anymore. We were with a group on a tour of the Harding home, library and memorial. The organizer planned lunch at Steve's Dakota Grill Our waitress was overwhelmed and dropped each dressing down the back of one of the diners as she tried to squeeze into the corner carrying 2 entrees. Accidents happen, I get that and the be restaurant comped the meal for the gentleman wearing the ranch. The food was subpar and I would not recommend this restaurant! I ordered a grilled chicken salad. The lettece was pulled directly out of a GFS bag of prepared salad mix. The restaurant added 3 slices of cucumber, some red onion and a few croutons. The grilled chicken was not warm and had no flavor. The ranch was awful. Also tasted like cheap GFS dressing Rolls were served tablesude with maple butter that was tasty and regular butter. But the rolls were not warm and tasted like frozen dinner rolls. Imy husband ordered the lunch serloin. He said an excessive amount of liquid smoke was on the meat. The meat was tough. One of the cheapest places to get a steak from at around $12 for an 8oz sirloin with salad and potato. One of the best burgers I have had in this area as well (but the fries need work, they really suck). Everything is fine for what it is though some of the bigger "signature" steaks I occasionally get at dinner they have had issues getting medium-rare right. Never had a problem on the 8oz but of the 6ish times I have got the big lodge ribeye once it came out blue rare and the most recent has a lot of just burnt charcoal spots. read more

My family liked the Mansfield location so we figured we'd try this one. The staff was friendly and helpful, the decorations seemed pretty outdated. For how steady it was, the noise level was pretty good. The food though wasn't very good. My brothers steak seemed like it was half raw and half well done. He ended up getting sick from it. Most of the food was bland. The fried pickles were amazing! They were fried pickle spears. I also got the peach margarita with extra lime. Honestly didn't taste any peach but the margarita was good. My Husband came up to visit me a few weeks ago. I am out of state, taking care of my dad. We went to Steve Dakota's for the first time. It was great. From the food, to the Staff, our waitress, God Bless her. I cannot remember her name. It was clean. We moved up north from Florida because of my parents. Living near Orlando and Daytona Beach the first 25 years. Then near Tampa after that... we were blessed to have very very nice restaurants to eat at. I gave it one star because I could not choose none. Ordered filet mignon and pork chops. One of the two Caesar salads had zero dressing. Like literally none. The French onion soup was fine - weird a dinner roll was used as the bottom bread, but it was not bad. The onion straws with our items were definitely good, but the meat. It. Was. Awful. Hand cut filet - maybe, but not well cut if that's really true. Color was awful looking and taste - so chewy. We really don't think it was a filet and we asked to be sure and the woman acting as manager gave us a whole spiel about the owner and hand cut so we just said thank you and left it there ... then the pork chops. Those are hard to mess up, and yet somehow, so overcooked that I literally could not stick a fork through it. No kidding. Looked great on the outside but zero juiciness. This past evening My fiancé and her son and grandson from Texas went to Steve's Dakota Grill in Marion, Ohio. After we each traveled from different parts of the state to meet for a festive occasion, we were treated with poor service and all had food poisoning. The original waitress that greeted us left and we were told she had to go home. We ordered 2 appetizer plates. When the appetizer's were served, there were no appetizer plates. I requested plates and more napkins. after 5 minutes the new server brought cold metal plates and napkins. When my fiancé went to ask for the server, the original waitress was sitting at the bar. Everyone at our table ordered steaks. My fiancé ordered broccoli with her meal instead of salad. We all ordered our steaks medium rare. My steak and fiancé's steak was served was well done, cold and full of gristle. Her son and grandson's steak were raw. We requested that the steaks be returned to the kitchen. They were out of the porterhouse steak that I had ordered. We requested a ribeye steak instead. When the steaks were re-served, my fiancé never received her broccoli. after we left Steve's Dakota Grill, Her son and Grandson vomited several times all night and My fiancé and me were sick to our stomachs all night. Steve's Dakota Grill used to be my favorite restaurant. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had in 65 years and not worth the good money that we paid. read more

Haven't been impressed with the food here lately. Ordered a steak medium and it was served well. My significant other ordered the turkey club and it had way too much of the flavored mayo on it. We dealt with the steak since it was still juicy and not dry. Two bites was taken out of the sandwich and neither of us liked it. We ate 3 of the fries. I told server the problem with the sandwich and told her she could take it because we didn't want it. She apologized and asked "Do you want me to see if they can remake it?" I told her no as I had lost my appetite. We was still charged for the meal. They never offered to remove it. Also a heads up for anyone concerned about Covid... Visited 04/02/23 I ordered a ribeye steak medium well. Wife ordered New York strip well done. Both came out rare. They also brought rolls that were cold and dried out. Baked potato was way overcooked with the skin like shoe leather. We immediately sent the steaks back to be properly cooked. By the time our steaks came back to us our potato was totally cold. We had to wait approximately 15 minutes for drink refills. This had to be the poorest quality of food and service we've ever had. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD. I was dreading my lunch today when I saw the negative yelp reviews for this place, which my clients chose. I had the grilled salmon salad ($9) and tried a part of the dakota burger and french fries ($7). Both the salmon and burger were very fresh, cooked medium rare as we requested, and had the perfect amount of delicious char. The meats were seasoned really well. The fries were crisp and and had a buttery potato flavor. The toasty, warm rolls were served with addicting whipped MAPLE butter (to die for!). I couldn't believe 4 people ate such YUGE lunches with non-alcoholic beverages for $45 after tax...such unbelievably good value! Our server was super sweet and attentive (refilled my water without me asking). The chef (or owner?) even stopped by to check on how we enjoyed our meal and I think our polished off plates speak for on our behalf. My husband and I went here, "For a nice dinner". What a joke. For the money, 29.99 for my filet, and another 18.99 for a very dry piece of hamburger. We are now wondering what this place is using for meat. Burger way overcooked, very dry. Waiter just dropped food off and left. My food steak cooked ok, medium rare, but in no way was it filet, dry, and strange aftertaste. We had to get assistance from other weight staff as ours thought it more important to sit at the bar. My husband had to beg for ice tea refill. I had to get up and get packets, yes packets of mustard and mayo to try to find something to add moisture to his meal. Baked potato was cold from sitting under heatlamp. In no way could you send anything back for fear what would return would be worse. Avoid this place go to Mc Donald's, you'll get better grade of meat, better service, and a better price. And yes I waited tables many times in my teens and have had my own business, this place needs new management, better trained waiters and waitresses . Don't go. Door to order was 30 minutes and another 45 minutes until the food was brought to the table. Server was also snippy and rushing our party thru ordering, messing up the order several times.
