Several years ago, I stopped at the Marion location on the way back from Columbus and had the absolute best steak I've ever had in my life. So this year, when my kids asked where I wanted to go for Father's day I said let's go to the Steve's location in Findlay as it is close to where my son lives. What a difference a couple of years make. I ordered the steak and lobster they had on special with grilled onions and mushrooms, steak cooked med. I thought this will be a real treat as I love lobster but rarely order it because I'm cheap. The servers were pleasant and attentive, no complaints with them. When my meal was brought out the lobster looked funny and I felt it, stone cold. I cut into my steak, well done. I sent my plate back because of the cold lobster, expecting a fresh tail to be brought back out. It came back in less than 2min. They shoved it in the microwave and sent it back out. As everyone else had been served, I wasn't going to complain further and risk ruining my father's day dinner. Until I actually tried the lobster. It was stringy on my fork and turned to a disgusting goo when I put it in my mouth. I spit it back out. I sent the plate back to the kitchen and asked then to just make me another steak. So there I sat with the rest of my family eating. The waitress brings out my replacement meal reasonably quickly. I cut into it, blood rare this time and tough as shoe leather. Absolutely no seasoning. The onions and mushrooms were watery and flavorless. I ate a few of the mushrooms and scraped the onions off. I ate about a third of the steak before I gave up on it. I took it home for the neighbors dog as I couldn't justify just throwing it away. Congratulations to Steve's, I spent a large portion of my youth on submarines and can eat about anything, they've discovered how to take perfectly good food and turn it into something even I can't eat. What a disappointment. We will not be coming back. Talking about it with my wife, she said the only thing about the meal was the salad which it was a good salad. She had sea bass and is not feeling well at the moment. I'm not feeling very well myself. If we get sick I'll update this post. Did I mention the rude lady that greeted us? I think she's one of the owners. And the potholes in the parking lot big enough to swallow a Sherman tank? Well maybe not that big but surely bad enough to turn an ankle if you're not paying attention or wearing heels. This place doesn't turn themselves around they won't be in business this time next year. I hope they read this and take it for the feedback to them it's meant to be. BTW the manager never stopped by to see what prompted me to send my meal back so this is the only method I have to give them that feedback. Not surprising actually. Situations like this are always an issue with management. They either don't care or are clueless to know when things aren't right. read more

We've visited Steve's Dakota Grill a number of times, and have enjoyed some of our meals, but not all. Very inconsistent. Last night's effort was not one of their best. Beginning with our server exclaiming "wow you must be thirsty!" when we drank down our margaritas waiting for her take our order. A better response would have been asking if we would like another drink $. Feeling guilty about gulping down our drinks, we opted for ice water. When we did place our food order, my wife opted for the rib-eye steak, and the server responded with "wow" again. Curious, we asked why she seemed so surprised. She responded with "is that the steak with all of the pepper on it? Usually only men order that." But she assured us it was one of their best steaks. What? Then we had the french onion soup as an app, which was good but our server brought our salads and steaks (at the same time) too soon, so they got cold. My wife's $18 steak, although ordered rare, had barely any grill marks, had a unappealing grey color and was way under cooked. She sent it back to be cooked longer, and it came back without the mushrooms she ordered, so she had to wait. My sirloin was good, but I ordered medium and got a bloody rare steak instead. And then when we received the check and looked at the bill, our server came over soon after and stood at our table, waiting for us to produce a credit card. She must have been new, but that's no excuse for the way she mishandled our table. I'm usually a generous tipper, but only left a 10% tip due to the poor experience we had. May be a while before we go back again. And our server needs some more training. read more

I had been to their other location several times. So this is my first trip here since they moved. My waiter was very nice. We ordered our food it took over 20 minutes to be served our dinner. They restaurant wasn't busy. They don't know how to cook prime rib. I ordered medium. It comes out in 1 1/2 inch thickness med well And rubbery. Manager came over ordered me a second prime rib. And it is the same as first. So this is my first and last trip here. read more

This place is mediocre at best. Found a hair in my portobello burger sent it back and they brought half of portobello on the new sand which which looked like it was not prepared properly. When a restaurant makes a mistake usually they go out of there way to fix the problem instead of giving you substandard food item in its replacement. The cook came out and argued with me saying there was no hair in the burger very unprofessional. Will never come back here due to the food and service. read more

We selected this restaurant while we were in town visiting relatives, and the best way I can describe our experience is, simply, underwhelming. The service was mediocre, and the food was worse. I ordered their "signature" sirloin steak, a baked potato, and salad, and the steak was flavorless and too fatty and tough to cut, and the baked potato was burned on the bottom. The salad was OK, and the rolls were the generic kind you can purchase in the freezer section of any grocery store. I had to leave my meal unfinished, but I'm fine with that in this instance. For a steak dinner (at a better price, too), I'd recommend visiting any number of chain restaurants instead of this location. read more

Ashley our server was very professional, honest, and a delight! Drinks from the bar were good, but the Bahama Mama was missing the crucial Southern Comfort. Now for the food, where do I begin on the atrocious mess we were served: Appetizer was the stuffed mushroom~ whatever seafood (they claimed it was "crab") but I clearly pulled a tiny shrimp from under the overbearing amount of cheddar cheese, which would of been fine had it not been over cooked. My entree included: Filet Mignon, lobster tail, and garlic mashed potatoes. Steak was cooked to a perfect medium, but lacked flavor, and was not the cut I'm accustomed to. Filet should melt in your mouth, not needed to be chewed like I ordered a sirloin. The lobster tail was worse than rubber, and the potatoes nope they couldn't manage to get those right either. Hubby's meal was equally a disaster. It was our 1st time, but a lesson was learned and a return visit will not be happening. The server did admit that the kitchen staff often sets food in the warmer while the rest of the tables food cooks. Most of the time the seafood is what suffers. Do restaurants not screen cooks anymore? Sadly this place HAD the potential to be a great place to eat. A revamp of the kitchen staff and the menu there may be hope for this place yet. If you have no palate, enjoy boring food and poorly cuts of meat then this is the place for you. If your looking for a good meal so far I can suggest either Hong Kong buffet or Pondarosa. It had been a while since visiting Steve's, and we took the whole family. The service was good, and the food was average. It's kind of a "meh" experience when you have been to some of the decent steak houses in Columbus. When looking at the selection available in just Marion, there is nothing that beats it. However, for the price and overall quality, I think I will just get some fresh steaks and throw them on the grill next time. read more

I have had several bad experiences here. Very poor customer service and management is even worse. I typically have ordered the Park Avenue salad with steak. It's never the same salad. Sometimes there's mixed greens, sometimes it's been shredded iceberg lettuce. Sometimes there are croutons, sometimes there's not. My steak has never been cooked properly. I never plan on visiting this restaurant again! I've given it several chances and it's disappointed every single time. read more

My husband and I dined here on our 1st wedding anniversary last night. The staff were all very kind and very professional. We really enjoyed the atmosphere; it was quite relaxing and comfortable. I liked it! I went twice with a colleague while on business in the area. First, I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. It's much better than what you might expect when you see the place from the highway. There's a four-sided fireplace that's nice to sit by, a raised bar area, and a wine cellar facing the dining room with the fireplace. The service was friendly, but not cloying. The manager came by at the end of our second meal there and inquired about our meal with a smile and then moved on...not hovering at all. Genuine seeming and polite. My first meal was french onion soup (quite good! And they didn't' skimp on the cheese.) and a black and blue burger (very good! The blue cheese was not too dry and the lettuce was not anemic, like you find this time of year. However, all restaurants can skip tomatoes all together in winter. No point.). The lunch prices are amazing. My colleague had a burger, too, and said it was good. The total bill was less than $20. Madness. My second meal was the cajun spice blackened salmon atop salad. The fish was cooked perfectly, I have to say. The salad was your typical, uninspired salad mix, but it was fresh and I could swear that the croutons were made in house. My colleague had fish and chips. The fries looked great and the fish looked pretty good. I would recommend that they make fresh bread and ditch the little sourdough rolls. Otherwise, it was good lunch and my entree was only about $8. read more

Worst steak house ever! My parents and I went there for lunch on a Saturday. The waitress gave me a salad with a spoiled tomato. Then mixed up the steaks giving us the wrong doneness. Then My father ordered mushrooms for his steak and they came out black! Then we noticed all the tables were getting bread and I asked "should we have gotten bread?" Love the new menu. The Wisconsin Cheese Puffs were fantastic! Service was wonderful and I really appreciated the large selection of wines.

Very disappointed with our latest visit here. In past visits our meal was outstanding. But have little to say positive other than our waitress was very good. We ordered ribs and they were tough and we didn't even take home almost 1/3 of our uneaten meals. The place has gotten busier after their move down the road. We had to wait a little longer than the 20 minutes predicted. But if the food is good you don't mind. We eat out a lot so we're pretty selective. It will be awhile before we revisit. Claiming their steaks are "USDA prime" is a joke. Worst steak I've been served. Looked like it was stamped with grill marks before they brought it out. Mine was way under cooked, and the manager even came in to check, took the steak back and brought it back still in pieces like it had been reheated. My friend and I were driving though Marion and decided to try your place since we have never been before. The parking lot looked full, so we thought it would be good! We usually sit at the bar as we like to talk and meet folks when we are out of town, so we were able to be served at the bar. We order the "24 karat gold margarita" frozen. My friend and I both commented that there was not much tequila in this drink, so we ordered another shot to add in it - still not tasting it!! This started our evening! We ordered our dinners and waited while drinking our "non" drinks. Our bar server was very pleasant and asked another server to get our salads. She came out with salad that were not for us. Another gentleman came out with one salad and rolls, salad was not ours so he did leave us the rolls. Next came our dinner entrees which were correct!! I must say that on the menu it states you will get a half a chicken which is 2 pounds! It certainly did NOT look to be 2 pounds, but was very delicious anyway. I would remove that from the menu description! So we had our entrees - no salad and no silverware!! We asked for silverware which she did get for us right away. Then our salads finally came out. We had no problem with the taste of the food - my friend had prime rib and my chicken was very good. We struck up a conversation with the gentleman sitting next to me. He had just ordered a Great Lakes beer - I told him I lived near the brewery and this is what he said....I finally had to order a beer as I had SIX mixed drinks and not even a slight buzz!! So, I am thinking that the liquor at this location may be watered down. He was not even drinking the same liquor we were so it could not just be the tequila. I feel you should know about this as we were not the only ones thinking our drink was VERY WEAK and our dinner service was not very good. Ate at Steves tonight with one of my friends. We started with the calamari and it was amazing. I had one pound of crab legs for 14.99$ and it came with a side and a salad. I had the Caesar salad and it was delicious and healthy in size. The crab legs were a little salty on some of them but overall good for the price. My friend had the sweet chili shrimp and loved them! They were very cheap for so many shrimp! The service was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone passing through Marion. read more

Extremely slow service it took 50 minutes for our entree after ordering. Then the steak came out cooked incorrectly. They replaced it with a steak that tasted bad. They took that one back and proceeded to charge me for my side and salad. Manager was not very customer centered as she did not apologize, she just said she'd take it off the bill. I have never written a review before,but just felt I needed to after our horrible two hour pricey experience last night at this restaurant. I chose what the server told us was a special. Two of the others in our group of four ordered a steak. When our meals came the first time, only one was correct. After several attempts and getting our meals correct mine came at the time everyone at the table was almost finished. Then came time for the checks. Told mine would be complimentary, only to discover it was on our friends bill. Also, it was not the $7.99 special as promised and then eventually put on our tab. After speaking with a manager she gave us a business card with a $10 discount hand written on the back of card for our next visit. We paid our bill and left after handing her back her business card. I wish I could give no stars but I can't. We came in with a group of 10 which may be a lot but most of the family are seasoned waiters from their high school and college days. This was arguably the worst service that I have ever experienced. The food wait times were at least 45 minutes with drink cups often empty and no rolls to be seen unless asked. The server was also MIA most of the time. Restaurant is incredibly cold and felt like an icy prison as the waitress made us wait 30 minutes to get our checks together. In fact, we had a member of our group compile the 2 credit cards to take to the front and/or manager to push the process through. Most of the food was mediocre. The sirloin steak was cooked rare and correct but the cut made it absolutely unpalatable. It was the worst steak I have ever eaten. I am very disappointed in the management at Marion's Steve's Dakota Grill. As it is a Saturday, they do not accept reservations on the weekends. I arrived approximately 1:15 pm in hopes to get the party room expecting my guests at approximately 2:00 pm. When I arrived no one was in the party room, however, I was told it was unavailable because people associated with the Palace Theater in MARION would be using it. I was confused and asked but I thought you didn't accept reservations on the weekends. The manager responded by telling me they do not accept reservations. [I am still confused and thinking to myself, how is that not a reservation?]. She went to put some tables together for our party of 15. The arrangement that was given to us was unacceptable and I had to ask for it to be fixed. They had too many chairs crammed in on place. They had added chairs to the end of the tables allowing for not much room. When I asked to move to a more open area I was also instructed that the tables I was referring to are reserved for the palace people as well. They were able to add an additional table to help accommodate us only after I instructed her on what I was wanting because I was being told a table couldn't be added. The service provided by are server was good. I found it very interesting that when we left at approximately 3:45 pm that no one had filled the seats in the party room, they remained empty. I find it very unprofessional to be selective of who can make reservations on the weekends. I know I will not plan another family gathering at this restaurant. read more
