The atmosphere is fantastic and the chef delivered an amazing meal. The waitress, on the other hand, was another story. We think she may have been drunk; not actually sure what was up with her. She was moving extremely slow and was MIA 2-3 times during our dinner for over 10 minutes. Our drinks took a long time and we finally went to the bar ourselves to ask for them. When she wrote down our orders it was illegible and our orders ended up being incorrect- wrong salad dressing and wrong side. The chef delivered our meals and was very friendly and kind. He asked the waitress to bring us our salads and she brought them to us after our meals were delivered. As I stated before, the dressing was incorrect on one of the salads. She was playing a dice game with someone at the bar at one point and definitely not waiting on people at the bar efficiently. Several people waited for over 15 minutes for service and it was not busy at all. She never returned to our table to ask how the meal was or if we needed anything. The chef brought us ketchup and after our meal, he brought us to go boxes. We had to make extra effort to even get our check and we were the only table in the restaurant. Connie is a sweetheart, she was the only one working when we came in and got us our drinks and food. We came in during the day when it's nice and quiet. Omg! Love this place. First time here. So down home . I felt welcome right away. The food is fire. One of the staff Connie was so sweet and enthusiastic. Made me wanna drink. This place has a lot of character and might not seem like a lot on the outside but is a homey and relaxed ambiance once inside. The staff was very kind and attentive. They even gave us some free rice pudding to try and checked on us as we ate lunch. Now for the food! You get a bang for your buck here, and portions are big. We started with the Mozzarella sticks and Buffalo wings. The Mozzarella sticks were very crispy and very well seasoned, they had an amazing cheese pull and paired perfectly with the marinara and the ranch served on the side. The wings were flavorful but did have a strong vinger taste, I really enjoyed them. We all got burgers and they were well seasoned and huge. They toasted the buns and had all the works. They do add mustard here, so if that's not your style, I recommend asking them to put it on the side. I ordered the garlic fries with mine, and my goodness they have to be the best garlic fries I've had in a long time. This was a great surprise. We had fresh dinner salads that were big and tasty with fresh vegetables. We followed up with some steak with a generous veggies as well as potatoes and beans. I went lighter with a blt and was not dissapointed. The sourdough bread was crispy and the bacon was flavorful. It was also huge and I look forward to eating it for lunch tomorrow. My mom got a chicken fried steak with some of the best gravy I've had in a long time. The server was kind and even took the time to reminisce with my grandpa. Anyone that has never been here or is unfamiliar with the area, might shy away, but if you do stop for lunch, you will walk into a hole in the wall dive bar, that has really good food! Really good steak sandwiches, club sandwiches with fries or onion rings piled up so high you won't believe. And the double cheese burger looks like its 7 or 8 inches tall ! Went here for a wedding. Super cute little courtyard with plenty of seating. They have restrooms just outside of the restaurant and a huge stage area. The service was a bit scattered I'm sure because there were so many people attending plus I'm sure they had their usual customers inside as well. I didn't look inside so I cant tell you what it looks like. I ordered the steak it was Huge! Medium rare and tasted like heaven. My hubby got the cheeseburger he said it was really good. The mashed potatoes were very tasty as well. The chicken that was ordered by another left a lot to be desired. It was a small breast and they said they weren't impressed. I would recommend this place. I don't know about the pricing, again I was at a wedding but if you have a get together they definitely can accomedate you. read more
