Sticky Rice has been one of our go to places for lunch with co-workers, happy hours and special celebrations. Tonight, we were happy to know that they re-opened their patio outdoor dining area. We ordered the calamari, shrimp patties and spring rolls for appetizers. For our entrees, we had the seafood nest, kung pao chicken, ma pao tofu, flounder fillet, salt and pepper pork. We also had fried rice and wor wonton soup. The food is good and flavorful. The service today by our server Rodney is excellent. We were welcomed warmly and he made sure we were taken cared of. Our food came quickly and he always checked on us to ask us what we need, he came over to our table often. His customer service skills are notably above par. As we were leaving, he came rushing to hand me my purse. I had accidentally left my small purse on the chair. I am so grateful for honest people like Rodney who definitely went above and beyond. Went for lunch with family to celebrate Uncle Joes 87th birthday.. he wanted Chinese food. This place did not disappoint.. My mother in law had basil chicken which was really good. Had a nice spice to it and overall good flavor, didn't get a picture of my father in laws food but he had Mongolian beef and it looked really good.. didn't get a chance to try his but he enjoyed it. The egg drop soup was ok nothing special, could have a bit more egg but with egg prices I don't blame them. It had corn in which was a little different for me. Uncle Joe had cherry pork, which I assume was there version of sweet and sour pork. The sauce was delicious, more sour than sweet, the pork was nice and crispy and the portion size was really good. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture. Me and Uncle Joes daughter, Cindy both had the pineapple walnut shrimp, probably some of the best tasting walnut sauce I've had! The shrimp were perfectly cooked, fried up nice and crispy, my only complaint is they could had more shrimp. $18 for 6 shrimp?! Could of at least made it 8!! But all in all the food was delicious. Sticky Rice Chinese Bistro and Bar (SRCBB) deserved an updated review after a recent visit. I was utterly surprised on the change of perception. See my previous review if interested. By venturing off to other dishes, I can honestly say I appreciate what they have to offer. During this visit, I've ordered Hong Kong style chow mien, Mongolian beef, and kung pao shrimp. I enjoyed them all in that order. The chow mien was a favorite among them all. The kitchen staff cooked these three dishes super quick! It didn't feel any longer than 10 minutes. This place was fairly busy and the short turnaround was a surprise. Winner! read more

I really hate to give bad reviews but this place was not good. The food had no flavor at all. Our server never came back to check on us during our meal. She came back at the end to give us our bill and said she would be back to bring fortune cookies, and never came back. We loved our food it was not too greasy, typically Chinese food is loaded with oil and I find the restaurant is not. We have only eaten to-go so I can't account for the atmosphere while dining in. My son enjoyed the cherry chicken which I'm assuming is similar to sweet and sour chicken. read more

When I used to attend Solano I was apart of an eight hour biological lab. We were granted an hour for our lunch break so my lab partners and I had the opportunity to eat at all the restaurants within a ten minute driving distance. If you are from the area, you're sure to know that the atmosphere is more business driven since the location is in the middle of a corporate district. Of all the restaurants with the shopping center and little complex that it's located in, Sticky Rice has the ambiance of a upscale Chinese restaurant that serves fusion food. Sometimes it almost feels like you're having lunch in Napa because of the beautiful scenery in the back. The food is alright. Expensive, yes... quality, not as great as I had hoped it to be. They've got a lunch menu that is almost similar to the dinner menu but a bit smaller portion and cheaper (I prefer going during lunch hours). This is not the Sticky Rice I knew and loved. When Molly Tou was the owner of Sticky Rice it was my favorite Asian food restaurant in the area by far. Not being from this area and having my share of excellent Asian food, I still have good memories of her restaurant's lightly-fried and lightly-sauced eggplant, appetizers, beef and broccoli, and lemon chicken. I have tried the new Sticky Rice before but long enough ago to forget, and for a special event I ordered in. We ordered the appetizer combo, orange chicken, and garlic shrimp. The entree's came warm and in good portions though rice was extra (typical now), but both were drenched in tasteless goopy sauce and were simply overcome in red chili paste. There was no other note of flavor to them except the slightest orange to the chicken. I like spicy and use chili paste in my own cooking, but the chili paste was intolerable. My son could not eat his chicken, I only picked out my shrimp and wiped them off. I noted no taste of garlic. The rest was a wash and we ended up having to throw it out. Even after rinsing the vegetables in water & wiping off with paper towels the chili taste was relentless. As for the appetizers, they fared a little better. The veggie egg rolls were full of fresh cabbage, the crab wontons were crispy, the ribs were mediocre at best. I thought of Sticky Rice as a step-above before, and I would say that other than the egg rolls, from my last experience Panda Express or any other Chinese restaurant tastes better now. read more

Great place for Chinese Food in the Fairfield area. Tried it out today for the very first time met some clients for lunch. It's located in a nice business park. The restaurant was packed for lunch but we were seated right away. Service was really good and the food was excellent. I'm surprised some people say no flavor or taste ... I can't imagine it was full of flavor and everything was really fresh. I could taste lots of garlic and soy sauce in my entrees. We got about 5 different dishes and all was good. The lady that helped us was very nice. We had a great lunch and I can't wait to go back when the weather is better because they have a lovely outside patio area that overlooks water! read more

So I dined in at the place for the first time last week. Food was ok. But what I loved was the Hot n Sour SOUP that came with the meal. So today I placed an order togo. I get back to work, and I have no soup and no silverware. At this point I can't even turn around because I now have to make it back to work. So I call up there and they like, if it's Togo you don't get a soup or salad. Only when you dine in I said so the same meal for the same price comes with a soup or salad but not if you get it Togo. I placed my order based off what the online menu stated which was the lunch meals comes with a soup or salad. I'm now back to work eating on some quite bland Kung Pao Prawns that swimming in juice. Kung Pao anything is not usually soupy ( 0 flavor) with no fork and no soup. Almost 30 dollars later and a ruined lunch. read more

As I walk into Sticky Rice, I am greeted with a host that doesn't have a warm greeting. First thing he says is, "can I help you?" LOL. Did my face look lost at a restaurant I wanted to dine in at? I smiled and answered, "table for three please." He then sits me and my guests at the back, where you can enjoy a scenery of a man made pond. I would say that the scenery was pretty, especially around sunset. BUT, as I am walking to my table, I see a man (that works there) with his bare feet on top of a chair lounging and his flip flops on the floor. I assumed this was not a guest because he was just looking at his phone and had a bunch of tableware cloth that he was folding and no food in sight. If he does work there, I would like to say that's VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and definitely NOT a good look on the restaurant. As we are seated, the menus are not in the best shape. I wish I took a picture of how the menus looked like. First off, the menus were falling apart. There were tears on the spine of the menus and food stains (I assume) all over. You would think for a restaurant, the menus should be more sanitized, especially in that kind of setting. 10 minutes as we were seated, our waitress asks for our drinks and we placed our appetizers as well: Tofu Fries and Vegetable Egg Roll. Tofu fries came with three dipping sauces: Sweet Chili, Some type of curry sauce, and a light mayo sauce. As me and my friends bit into the vegetable egg roll, a gush of oil dripped down our chin. My friend told the waitress the egg roll was too oily and we were able to exchange it with chicken wings. The chicken wings was a better choice then the greasy egg rolls. We then ordered our main dishes, Hong Kong Noodles, Brown Rice, and Mixed Vegetables. The main dishes were good and not greasy. The portions were generous and had leftovers to take home. Our server was good, gave her a 18% gratuity tip. Rate her a 8 out of 10. Food would've been good, if it wasn't for the greasy vegetable egg roll. Give it a 7 out of 10. Presentation of the restaurant (from the hosts' unfriendly greeting, seeing a man with his bare feet lounging on the chair, and the menus being unsanitized and ripped). Give it a 3 out of 10. Overall, service and food was OK. This restaurant is on the pricier side because it's one of three Chinese restaurants that are ONLY in the Green Valley area. I don't mind paying a little more if the service and presentation of the restaurant matched the vibe of the Green Valley community: classy and hip. But it doesn't. What threw me off was walking in with no warm greeting and seeing a man chillin with his flip flops. read more

Hidden gem right between I-80 to I-680 connection - take the Green Valley exit. I came here with my work team after we did a presentation nearby. Surprisingly, very good Chinese food here. I thought it was going to be Americanized Chinese food... boy was I wrong. Our company ordered for the whole team, so I didn't actually order off the menu. We had egg rolls, chow mien, vegetable dish, General Tsao's chicken, beef broccoli, seafood soup, honey walnut shrimp. Everything was up to par. Will be back here again whenever I am in the area. The wait is finally over! Sticky rice is back open and it was well worth the wait. It was our first time there we were seated pretty fast the service was great and the fountain outside added a little something extra. As for the food everything was fresh. Had a few items from the dinner menu and they were all delicious. The Mongolian beef, Hunan chicken, egg-rolls, and potstickers were some of our favorites. We have found our go to Chinese spot. When I call and am told I don't need a reservation, but you agree to make one for me, it is rude to tell me when I arrive that at I'll be seated at a table where there is a reservation 90 mins after you seat me. I went here for lunch on a weekday with my madre and her friend. It was kinda busy, there were a lot of business people dining during that time. The decor is nice, right when you walk in, you'll see a waterfall wall, fancy huh? The menu is made of cardboard or some kind of special construction paper. They categorize their menu from seafood to noodles and chicken to steak, they didn't have many selections that suited my taste, and I'm asian. I ordered the chow fun dish because it consisted of shrimp, chicken, beef, and some veggies, which sounded good for $10, not bad because everything else was in the $12-20 range. It was quite delish, but kinda oily and a lot of bean sprouts o___O. It was a big serving, I ate half and took the rest home. I wanted to order some fried wonton with the cream cheese but I wasn't going to bust out $7-8 for a only a few. Service was good, employees are nice and helpful. I visited this location to celebrate a friends birthday. We were told the bar was closed due to no bartender. Then when I asked if it was happy hour as per the website she said no. They don't do happy hour anymore that's from the old owner. I suggested updating the website. Food wasn't horrible but then a group of women were seated and the same lady who told us the bar was closed she gave the 4 women beer on tap..... I wasn't happy because we also wanted beer. Very disappointing and we drove from out of town to support this small business. Shame on you and we won't be back. read more

Food is good, service is ok, But getting your check is a nightmare! The last 3 times I have had to ask for the check after getting up from my table and chasing down the server. Tonight was my last time eating here, it took 28 minutes after my table was cleaned off for my husband to go to another table and ask the server for our check after he looked at us and smiled twice whole putting in orders for new tables. Had dinner here a couple days ago....used to eat here regularly and this was our first trip back since their reopening. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. Essentially the same menu and appearance. The food is just not up to prior ownership's standards. Pork potstickers were decent and special chow mien was pretty good but the yellow curry with chicken and shrimp and vegetables were not good. Curry didn't taste like curry. Sauce for the shrimp and vegetables had a very heavy ginger flavor....displeasing. Just another run of the mill chinese restaurant now....you can do better for less money. read more

I have been meaning for some time now to review this establishment. I like to start by saying that the customer service here regardless of who our server is, is excellent! We always come here for a late lunch, sit at the same table, and enjoy ourselves to the fullest! Typically the type of fare we tend to indulge in is your typical sizzling rice soup, fried rice, chicken egg roll type thingies, garlic wings, Etc. Been going here for years. Today, we ordered our usual spicy noodle soups. Noodles were not edible. Not sure if they decided to use leftover noodles but they were like mushy clumps of flour. Manager came over and said we are going to use different noodles and bring another soup for us to try. Our server came back later and said the cook is too busy to make us another soup. I was recommended this place by a friend of mine, she swore by this food. Service was cool, inside the ambience was OK but the patio deck furniture had a lot of spiderwebs on it. What a sore sight to see. My husband and I order a bunch of items and Sally to say the only thing that was good was the fried chicken wings. It's extremely disheartening to see how downhill this place has gone. The previous owners had so much pride and you weren't paying solely for the great food, but for the customer service and ambiance, as well. It was always worth the money. These owners are on some whole other ish and they've managed to turn one of THEE best restaurants in town into some cheap, take out-looking spot that 1) won't open the bar (due to "short staffing" but whatever). 2. no longer accepts gift cards (for three years now) 3. doesn't accept cash (coin shortage, they say) 4. has signs plastered everywhere saying what they can't do (mentioned above) and a *handwritten* one about how you can only stay 30 minutes past last call for "dinning." All of this while still charging the same prices, while giving subpar customer service. It's evident on many fronts that they take a lazy approach and will do whatever is easiest for them, rather than provide customers with an experience that is reflected in the price they pay. If people only knew how Sticky Rice USED to be. Absolutely unsatisfactory, and if they keep this up, UNVISITED. read more

Came here with a customer for lunch so I didn't really know what to expect. We were seated right away. The staff is somewhat friendly, quick service but not huge engaging with the customer. We ordered an assortment of appetizers. The Veggie Egg Rolls were decent, slightly greasy but tasty enough. The Asian Tofu Fries were interesting, not huge in flavor but crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. How can you go wrong with Crab Wonton Rangoon? They were delicious. The Shrimp Dumplings looked homemade and tasted that way as well. The Ahi Tuna Bites were fishy and not to my liking. read more
