Sticky Rice Chinese Bistro & Bar, Fairfield: 2026 Apr 28 (2 of 5)
    Maggie T.

Sticky Rice Chinese Bistro & Bar, Fairfield: 2026 Apr 28 (1.375 of 5) WE GOT SCOLDED by the manager! I was at the counter paying the bill when the manager approached my dinner guests. She intimidated them by asking loudly why they were wasting food by not eating. My guests said they didn't enjoy the food, to which she replied that they're wasting food. How could anyone enjoy food that's inedible? She certainly did not give cause for us or our friends to step inside that eatery again. (1 of 5) Grace, server: Poor Grace looked pressured. She tried her best to accommodate us but I think she was 'shut-down' by her boss. I decided the restaurant did not deserve a tip but our server did so I pushed the tip inside her pocket. Grace mentioned that the chef is new and she would try and see if they can do something with our check. They did not and even raise the cost on one of the dishes we ordered. The price on the menu is lower that what they charged. This was an eatery we frequented for years and we usually enjoy the food here. Since we moved, we haven't visited it but our family still lives in that neighborhood so we decided to meet there for dinner. They don't take reservations but the eatery was half empty for a dinner-time seating. We sat down and was presented with their menu, which haven't changed much so it was easy to order our meal. We ordered Crab Wonton, Potstickers, Singapore-style Rice Noodles, Orange Chicken, Bulgogi. None of the dishes came with rice, so we ordered a bowl of rice. One of our guests wanted wine. Our server said the wine menu is not available, so we decided to get the house-wine. Our server returned to say the bartender is not on duty and we couldn't get even the house wine. I asked for hot water which never arrived. (1 of 5) Crab Wonton: This fried appetizer should have a crispy exterior filled with a creamy, savory mixture of cream cheese and crab meat (whether real or imitation). They are deep-fried until golden and served with sweet-and-sour sauce. The subtle seafood flavor is not quite there and the filling did not fill the parcel. The sauce here could be found on any grocery shelf but that's okay. I opened up the rest of the wonton for two reasons: (1) I wanted to see if some of them were filled, and (2) to make sure they don't serve these to unsuspecting diners. (1 of 5) Potstickers: These crescent-shaped dumplings should feature a savory filling with cabbage and ginger. They are pan-fried to produce a golden, crispy bottom and then steamed, creating a tender top, resulting in a dual-texture, savory, and aromatic bite. Although the dumplings looked good on the outside, it tasted gooey - not juicy. (1 of 5) Singapore-style Rice Noodles: I was very disappointed with my order. It tasted like the chef just poured curry powder over the top instead of cooking it in. It tasted gritty and the noodles lacked any savory nor aromatic notes. It should have a slightly spicy curry flavor but I did not taste any of that. There was no smoky or comforting yumminess to this dish. I feel that even a few drops of soy sauce would have elevated this dish - giving it an umami taste. I'm giving it a 2 because they used the right noodles. (2 of 5) Orange Chicken: This bite-sized pieces of battered, fried chicken tossed in a sweet, tangy, and savory orange-flavored sauce should boast a crispy, sticky texture with a bright citrus aroma from orange juice and zest. Instead, it had none of the garlicky, gingery, or slightly heated profile. There was no depth nor flavor at all. The dish wasn't well-balanced. (1 of 5) Bulgogi: This was the best dish we tasted this evening. The meat was tender and cut correctly. It had a mild and savory marinade but was under-seasoned. It missed the garlicky and nutty caramelized, smoky flavor. It came ala carte, like the orange chicken we ordered. They didn't even offer lettuce leaves, which usually accompany bulgogi. (2 of 5) Rice: Like the name says, the rice was on the sticky side - but cooked through. (3 of 5)

I was headed back from Fairfield at 3:30p, but I was at a long appointment over lunchtime. I didn't want to make the trip in the rain hungry. I found this place close to the highway. It was lovely. I was greeted within a few moments, and seated at a table if my choosing due to the timing of when I was there. Other than the TV on at the bar, which I could hear in the dining area, it was pretty quiet with a chill vibe. I chose the eggplant and tofu. They even had brown rice available as a side--a rarity at Chinese restaurants in the area based on my experience. The staff was very pleasant, too.

So we started out house shopping on the side of the bridge in rodeo and we decided to go look at a places in the Cordelia area. When we arrived, we wanted something good to eat and something that was really close by. And of course had a full bar. Looking on yelp, I saw this place and thought why not give it a try even though it has three stars. Sometimes I still give it a try even though the rating is OK because you never know people's taste. Driving up to this location we were kind of confused because it is literally in a business center. The bathroom is located in the hallway so you have to exit the restaurant if you need to use the restroom. We walked in and it seems very nice and clean, and there were a lot of people already dining. There's a cool fountain in the patio. We were greeted by the hostess, who sat us at the bar per our request. It seemed like there were only two people working because the servers/bartenders was really the one helping us. As we were seated, we were told that we could only have beer and wine. As the bartender came up, I asked her if she was able just to pour gin and she said yes I was pretty surprised that you have a full bar but yet you can't seem to offer full beverages. The server was extremely nice. She handed us the menus. We looked over lots of choices. The prices were really on point. We ordered the calamari. These come out as a little rings so you don't get any of the tentacles. So if you're looking for tentacles, do not get this. The calamari was overcooked and really rubbery. But it came out with some chipotle, mayo, and some sweet sauce. As we were still hungry, we ordered the chow mein that's on the menu. I couldn't believe that it was only $11! Not only was it $11! The chow mein was actually a mixture of pork chicken and shrimp. The pork was definitely overcooked. The chicken was OK and the shrimp was OK as well. There was some great texture and taste to the noodles. But nothing great. What I come back to this restaurant, that would be a negative. If I'm looking for some mediocre cheap Chinese food this place is definitely at your place to go. Our check came out about $70 with the tip included.

Back twice last week. Both times the draw was their late hours. Sunday for Father's day dinner with hubby after work. Wednesday after a impromptu shopping trip with sis and cousin. I like their crispy shrimp and scallops but I have to get the sauce on the side. Egg drop soup was good. Fried rice nice...needed a little garlic and soy sauce. I always ask for some hot mustard and chili oil when I sit down cuz I know I'mma need that extra little seasoning for my dishes. On Sunday the bar is open but neither my husband or I wanted a drink however on Wednesday when we went with the girls I did want to drink and tomorrow was closed the bartender had called off. Boo for the bartender. I also like the appetizer of the tofu fries and I had a nice like spicy peanut sauce that was good as well. Everything we ordered on Wednesday was pretty good it's a lot of food. Both times I went with hubby and the girls we spent about $75 which is not bad with the tip I like $90 so.

Restaurant came under new management several years ago. Dining area was as I remembered. I ordered my favorite - stuffed eggplant which was delicious as usual.

Had lunch today with my dear friend and former boss, her sister and nephew. The boy is 26 with the mind of a 3 year old? He does well in restaurant settings, but is prone to occasional outbursts. Our server was so kind and patient with us. I thank her for that. The food is consistent great too! I love the Prawn Cakes. Get them. As it was a cold and rainy day I chose the Wor Wonton Soup. It was good, but not great? It needed a better level of chicken flavor IMHO. We also shared an order of Veggie and Meat Eggrolls. The meat ones had a faint but yummy 5 spice flavor, but my favorites were the veggie ones. I wound up bringing over half the soup and 2 Prawn Cakes home. Hubby asked me to bring back an order of their amazing Cherry Pork and Fried Rice. Holy Moly it was a lot and only $25.00. (SEE PICS). Thank you SR for everything today.

We stopped by for a late lunch since it's right across from Costco. They offer lunch specials until 3 PM, and the prices are very affordable. Here's my review: Service: Amazing! I didn't get our server's name, but she was great--very friendly and attentive. She checked on us often, and we were greeted within a couple minutes of sitting down. Our food came out fast, roughly 5-7 minutes after ordering. Ambiance: From the outside, it almost looks like a hotel rather than a restaurant. Inside, it's clean, bright, and overlooks a nice water fountain. The bathrooms are also clean and well kept. Value: Portions are generous, even with the lunch specials. You get a cup of rice plus soup or salad, which makes it an even better deal. The single entrées are also reasonably priced. Compared to other Chinese restaurants I've been to, this is one of the most affordable. Food: Everything arrived hot. The calamari was crunchy and well seasoned. The crispy pork lived up to its name and had great flavor. The cherry pork, however, tasted similar to a mix of orange chicken and sweet-and-sour chicken--good, but not unique. Something seemed missing, so I'd give the food 4 out of 5 stars. Overall: I recommend this place and would definitely come back!

I called ahead and ordered the spicy crispy tofu. I even specified EXTRA spicy. HUGE disappointment. There is nothing spicy or crispy about this entree. The vegetables are super bland, there is nothing spicy or even a hint of crispness on the tofu & it is all thrown together in a thick sweet sauce. In short, the title of the entreé is misleading. Just call it what it is, not what it's not. UGH. It was a pick up order so I did not pay attention to anything beyond the food.

I can't speak on the ambiance or the service because I actually did Door Dash because I was home alone and hungry and remembered being told how good the appetizers were at Sticky Rice. I ordered the crab ragoon and the pork pot stickers and they were both delicious. I have to say that my favorite was the crab ragoon. They were still really warm when they arrived and they were extremely creamy and so delicious and definitely could taste the crab in them. Next time will have to eat in.

STICKY RICE is a Chinese bistro and bar located in a business park in Fairfield, CA. A top favorite for my In-laws to break bread and gather with friends & family. The water fountains inside and out provide a pleasant ambiance. Menu items we regularly order are: Won Ton Soup - savory broth with delicate wonton and green onions. A great starter, especially during the winter season. Seafood Nest - made with prawns, calamari, scallops & sliced fish with mixed vegetables served on a nest of crispy noodles. I personally like it when there's extra gravy to soften the noodles. Service is always friendly and food is prepared fresh and delivered promptly. The restaurant is located across the street from Costco, so we always make it a point to grab a bite here after we've worked up an appetite from shopping.

Every time I come here it is clean, the staff speaks (I am big on greeting) and I have never had to wait. Rather it is busy or slow the food is always tasty, hot and fresh as well. Rather I am chillin at the bar or sitting at a table, the serve is the same. This is a good place to go solo as well. The food here is really good. I took my mom here for lunch and she enjoyed it. The lunch If you are looking for good Chinese food in this area just got Sticky Rice. You will not be disappointed.

We're fairly new to Fairfield, coming from San Francisco, and honestly, we were a little hesitant to try out any Chinese restaurants in the area (I've been traumatized before, lol). The menu here wasn't super traditional, there were Thai items mixed in but we ordered what sounded good, and were pleasantly surprised! What we ordered: Bird's Nest Noodles - Looked great and tasted even better! Crispy and flavorful. 8.5/10 Sizzling Rice Soup - Tasty, but not quite enough crispy rice for my liking. Still enjoyable. 7/10 Basil Dishes - Good flavor but leaned a bit oily. Hunan Chicken - Classic Chinese-American go-to. The service was genuinely great. Even though they were busy, the staff was attentive and quick to bring anything we needed without us having to wait or ask twice. The interior was a fun surprise, definitely more modern and unique than I expected, with a bar area that adds a cool vibe. All in all, I'd definitely come back and am excited to try more dishes. A nice spot for a casual but satisfying dinner!

    Happy Hour Menu
    Cherylyn A.

My family and I love this place and my most fave thing to order is their honey walnut prawns and Mongolian beef. We love coming for their lunch specials, probably one of the best in town. Their Happy Hour menu is pretty solid too with the selections they have to offer, it's just hit or miss depending if they have a bartender that day. But when they do, it's definitely worth it! Ambiance is really nice, as this restaurant is located on the bottom floor of a business building with the dining area facing the fountain. Nice and clean and the service is always quick.

    Plenty of seating.

If you aren't familiar with Frymazing, they are a Korean Fusion restaurant! They have Bibimbop, bulgogi, Korean fried chicken (KFC) and now... A DIY RAMEN BAR!!! They also serve fries, too! They have a variety of KFC flavors buuut my favorites are Honey Butter, Soy Garlic and Yang Yum (Korean spicy bbq). I also tried Double Crunch (a dry ramen rub) and Jala-Lujah (a smooooth jalapeño flavor). So if you're hesitant on what to order, definitely go for a half & half order of chicken wings. But if you're bold and ready to take on some traditional Korean cuisine, I highly recommend their Bibimbop. ALWAYS get a fried egg with it and do not forget to mix everything together! Because once you do, each bite is a mix of everything Bibimbop has to offer! Service was excellent. Welcoming and quick! The ambiance is fun! Good music with lot of fun things to take pics of or just look at. They even have propagated plants for sale, too! So plant parents, you might find your next plant baby here. The DIY Ramen bar is so fun! First in Solano county. So if you've ever wanted to try a difference brand of ramen and want to eat it right away, go to Frymazing!

Crispy chicken fried rice - 10/10, chicken was juicy and super crispy, paired with two different sauces (1) some sort of creamy mayo aioli (2) sweet chili sauce; i personally preferred the sweet chili sauce. The rice itself was subtle, with a slight soy sauce flavor; definitely allowed the chicken to shine. Thai iced tea - 8/10, good thai tea. not too sweet, stronger on the tea side. Staff were friendly and food came out quickly. The restaurant is decent in size (has both outside and indoor seating), and had a modern, clean look. Overall, food was delicious and would definitely come back. We did the AYCE and I definitely got my money's worth. The service was courteous and prompt. The ambiance was typical for a K-BBQ spot- the open floor plan makes for a slightly louder place, but at least the music was not blasting so loudly that conversation was hindered. The menu has meat and other dishes that can be ordered a la carte, if all you can eat is not your thing. (Or if you don't want to have to grill your own meat.) We ordered: -Pork belly (regular, thin sliced, and soy garlic. All great, but the thin sliced has always been my favorite). -Marinated beef (tasty). -LA ribs (well marinated and not too salty). -Bulgogi and the Hawaiian bulgogi (the Hawaiian was good and I like the pineapple chunks to grill,, but preferred the regular because it was less sweet). -Shrimp (head and shell on, be prepared to peel and de-vein after grilling). -Marinated baby octopus (one of my son's favorite things he had there). Some highlights that will bring me back: -Sliced pickled radish to wrap the meat for a low carb option. -Glutinous rice paper to wrap the meat (nice and chewy texture, great touch to the marinated meat). -ALL of the banchan was spot on. Zingy kimchi, firm broccoli, not too sweet fishcakes, and seasoned bean sprouts were among our faves. -Last but not least, the crispy chicken wings. Crispy like Korean fried chicken should be with delicious sauces (we tried the sweet and spicy, and the soy garlic). Worth it to come back just for that. We will definitely be going back soon!

Rather than assume who was at fault, I called the restaurant to see if my driver had possibly left a bag behind. Neil, who is part owner, immediately looked into it. Within 5 minutes, he reviewed their camera footage and confirmed my driver had been handed THREE bags but I only received one. Mystery solved. Definitely a DoorDash driver issue, NOT Ayemi's. But here's what really got me: even though it wasn't their mistake, Neil offered to REMAKE my missing rolls and PERSONALLY deliver them to me. And I live far enough away that DoorDash charges me a long-distance fee! I declined because DoorDash had already refunded the missing items, and I wasn't about to double dip or make Neil drive all that way for something that wasn't his fault. But THAT is customer service. As for the food: Ayemi's has become one of my go-to spots. Their sushi rolls are JUMBO for the price of regular rolls, ingredients are fresh, everything is tasty, and my son loves their poke bowls. Is it fancy, elevated luxury sushi? No. Is it fresh, generous, affordable, and consistently satisfying? YES. Great value, lots of options, and now I know there are genuinely good people behind the business too. Thanks, Neil!

I really like the dim ambiance in this family of restaurants, as it instantly adds a relaxing yet sophisticated vibe. We had been to R+D a couple of times in the past, and revisited this past week. We came in for lunch, and unsurprisingly, the place was filled with tourists as well as people watching the World Cup. Luckily we were able to snag a couple of (very comfortable!) seats at the bar. Our bartender/server was nice and responsive, but overextended with the number of people he was helping. Perhaps it's time to hire some additional staff. The menu is a combination of sandwiches & burgers, salads, steak and fish mains, and sushi. The sushi doesn't quite seem to fit the rest of the menu, but as a pescatarian and sushi lover, I'm good with it. We started off with the deviled eggs, the rainbow roll, and a tuna roll, and followed up with a couple of orders of fries. I liked the rainbow roll and the fries. The cocktails were tasty as well - lemon drop for me, tequila & lime for RB. They have beautiful koi fish in the pond out front, that I hope they take good care of. They might need a bigger pond, and judging by their interest in the hoomans passing by, more frequent feeding times. Overall, an enjoyable experience every time we've been in, and I'm sure we will return during future trips to Napa.

They had no hostess to express that and we did not see a dress policy sign upon entering. This was our first experience dining at this restaurant. We were invited by another couple and they've been there before, however, they must not have known. My husband wore a tank top, apparently, no tank tops allowed. Upon seating us, our server, apparently, saw my husband entering and pointed him out to our friend, asked if he was with us. When our friend said yes, our server asked if he wouldn't mind asking my husband if he had another shirt he could change into or if he had something to wear over the tank top. My husband was a little embarrassed that our friend had to be the one to relay that message. We just wished there was another way the business could have expressed that to him. The restaurant dining area was nice and elegant and the food was delicious. For the most part, the rest of the experience was good.

I ordered take out, one order of house fried rice, one order of orange chicken, and one order of sweet and sour pork. Everything was tasty and looked like it was made from scratch. Was it freshly prepared? Not likely. I was in and out the door in less than ten minutes. No way they could prepare this food that fast. Portions were big enough to serve 3-4 people no problem. The bill was a bit of a sticker shock, about $54 for everything. Would I go back? Probably not. Panda is about a mile from us and the two of us can eat there for $20-ish. This place is on the other side of town. And at Panda I can see the food items before I make a selection. Panda's food doesn't sit around very long under the heat lamps.

The portions are generous (you definitely get your money's worth), and everything tastes like it's made with care -- not rushed or greasy like a lot of takeout places. The orange chicken is crispy and saucy, the fried rice is packed with flavor, and their chow mein is always cooked just right. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming too. They remember regulars, work fast, and make you feel at home whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout. Service is quick without ever feeling chaotic. It's become my go-to for family dinners and low-key nights when I just want something consistently delicious. If you're in Fairfield and craving Chinese food, this place is a must-try. Total local gem.
