Sticky Rice Chinese Bistro & Bar, Fairfield: 2026 Apr 28 (2 of 5)
    Maggie T.

Sticky Rice Chinese Bistro & Bar, Fairfield: 2026 Apr 28 (1.375 of 5) WE GOT SCOLDED by the manager! I was at the counter paying the bill when the manager approached my dinner guests. She intimidated them by asking loudly why they were wasting food by not eating. My guests said they didn't enjoy the food, to which she replied that they're wasting food. How could anyone enjoy food that's inedible? She certainly did not give cause for us or our friends to step inside that eatery again. (1 of 5) Grace, server: Poor Grace looked pressured. She tried her best to accommodate us but I think she was 'shut-down' by her boss. I decided the restaurant did not deserve a tip but our server did so I pushed the tip inside her pocket. Grace mentioned that the chef is new and she would try and see if they can do something with our check. They did not and even raise the cost on one of the dishes we ordered. The price on the menu is lower that what they charged. This was an eatery we frequented for years and we usually enjoy the food here. Since we moved, we haven't visited it but our family still lives in that neighborhood so we decided to meet there for dinner. They don't take reservations but the eatery was half empty for a dinner-time seating. We sat down and was presented with their menu, which haven't changed much so it was easy to order our meal. We ordered Crab Wonton, Potstickers, Singapore-style Rice Noodles, Orange Chicken, Bulgogi. None of the dishes came with rice, so we ordered a bowl of rice. One of our guests wanted wine. Our server said the wine menu is not available, so we decided to get the house-wine. Our server returned to say the bartender is not on duty and we couldn't get even the house wine. I asked for hot water which never arrived. (1 of 5) Crab Wonton: This fried appetizer should have a crispy exterior filled with a creamy, savory mixture of cream cheese and crab meat (whether real or imitation). They are deep-fried until golden and served with sweet-and-sour sauce. The subtle seafood flavor is not quite there and the filling did not fill the parcel. The sauce here could be found on any grocery shelf but that's okay. I opened up the rest of the wonton for two reasons: (1) I wanted to see if some of them were filled, and (2) to make sure they don't serve these to unsuspecting diners. (1 of 5) Potstickers: These crescent-shaped dumplings should feature a savory filling with cabbage and ginger. They are pan-fried to produce a golden, crispy bottom and then steamed, creating a tender top, resulting in a dual-texture, savory, and aromatic bite. Although the dumplings looked good on the outside, it tasted gooey - not juicy. (1 of 5) Singapore-style Rice Noodles: I was very disappointed with my order. It tasted like the chef just poured curry powder over the top instead of cooking it in. It tasted gritty and the noodles lacked any savory nor aromatic notes. It should have a slightly spicy curry flavor but I did not taste any of that. There was no smoky or comforting yumminess to this dish. I feel that even a few drops of soy sauce would have elevated this dish - giving it an umami taste. I'm giving it a 2 because they used the right noodles. (2 of 5) Orange Chicken: This bite-sized pieces of battered, fried chicken tossed in a sweet, tangy, and savory orange-flavored sauce should boast a crispy, sticky texture with a bright citrus aroma from orange juice and zest. Instead, it had none of the garlicky, gingery, or slightly heated profile. There was no depth nor flavor at all. The dish wasn't well-balanced. (1 of 5) Bulgogi: This was the best dish we tasted this evening. The meat was tender and cut correctly. It had a mild and savory marinade but was under-seasoned. It missed the garlicky and nutty caramelized, smoky flavor. It came ala carte, like the orange chicken we ordered. They didn't even offer lettuce leaves, which usually accompany bulgogi. (2 of 5) Rice: Like the name says, the rice was on the sticky side - but cooked through. (3 of 5)

I was headed back from Fairfield at 3:30p, but I was at a long appointment over lunchtime. I didn't want to make the trip in the rain hungry. I found this place close to the highway. It was lovely. I was greeted within a few moments, and seated at a table if my choosing due to the timing of when I was there. Other than the TV on at the bar, which I could hear in the dining area, it was pretty quiet with a chill vibe. I chose the eggplant and tofu. They even had brown rice available as a side--a rarity at Chinese restaurants in the area based on my experience. The staff was very pleasant, too.

So we started out house shopping on the side of the bridge in rodeo and we decided to go look at a places in the Cordelia area. When we arrived, we wanted something good to eat and something that was really close by. And of course had a full bar. Looking on yelp, I saw this place and thought why not give it a try even though it has three stars. Sometimes I still give it a try even though the rating is OK because you never know people's taste. Driving up to this location we were kind of confused because it is literally in a business center. The bathroom is located in the hallway so you have to exit the restaurant if you need to use the restroom. We walked in and it seems very nice and clean, and there were a lot of people already dining. There's a cool fountain in the patio. We were greeted by the hostess, who sat us at the bar per our request. It seemed like there were only two people working because the servers/bartenders was really the one helping us. As we were seated, we were told that we could only have beer and wine. As the bartender came up, I asked her if she was able just to pour gin and she said yes I was pretty surprised that you have a full bar but yet you can't seem to offer full beverages. The server was extremely nice. She handed us the menus. We looked over lots of choices. The prices were really on point. We ordered the calamari. These come out as a little rings so you don't get any of the tentacles. So if you're looking for tentacles, do not get this. The calamari was overcooked and really rubbery. But it came out with some chipotle, mayo, and some sweet sauce. As we were still hungry, we ordered the chow mein that's on the menu. I couldn't believe that it was only $11! Not only was it $11! The chow mein was actually a mixture of pork chicken and shrimp. The pork was definitely overcooked. The chicken was OK and the shrimp was OK as well. There was some great texture and taste to the noodles. But nothing great. What I come back to this restaurant, that would be a negative. If I'm looking for some mediocre cheap Chinese food this place is definitely at your place to go. Our check came out about $70 with the tip included.

Back twice last week. Both times the draw was their late hours. Sunday for Father's day dinner with hubby after work. Wednesday after a impromptu shopping trip with sis and cousin. I like their crispy shrimp and scallops but I have to get the sauce on the side. Egg drop soup was good. Fried rice nice...needed a little garlic and soy sauce. I always ask for some hot mustard and chili oil when I sit down cuz I know I'mma need that extra little seasoning for my dishes. On Sunday the bar is open but neither my husband or I wanted a drink however on Wednesday when we went with the girls I did want to drink and tomorrow was closed the bartender had called off. Boo for the bartender. I also like the appetizer of the tofu fries and I had a nice like spicy peanut sauce that was good as well. Everything we ordered on Wednesday was pretty good it's a lot of food. Both times I went with hubby and the girls we spent about $75 which is not bad with the tip I like $90 so.

Restaurant came under new management several years ago. Dining area was as I remembered. I ordered my favorite - stuffed eggplant which was delicious as usual.

Had lunch today with my dear friend and former boss, her sister and nephew. The boy is 26 with the mind of a 3 year old? He does well in restaurant settings, but is prone to occasional outbursts. Our server was so kind and patient with us. I thank her for that. The food is consistent great too! I love the Prawn Cakes. Get them. As it was a cold and rainy day I chose the Wor Wonton Soup. It was good, but not great? It needed a better level of chicken flavor IMHO. We also shared an order of Veggie and Meat Eggrolls. The meat ones had a faint but yummy 5 spice flavor, but my favorites were the veggie ones. I wound up bringing over half the soup and 2 Prawn Cakes home. Hubby asked me to bring back an order of their amazing Cherry Pork and Fried Rice. Holy Moly it was a lot and only $25.00. (SEE PICS). Thank you SR for everything today.

We stopped by for a late lunch since it's right across from Costco. They offer lunch specials until 3 PM, and the prices are very affordable. Here's my review: Service: Amazing! I didn't get our server's name, but she was great--very friendly and attentive. She checked on us often, and we were greeted within a couple minutes of sitting down. Our food came out fast, roughly 5-7 minutes after ordering. Ambiance: From the outside, it almost looks like a hotel rather than a restaurant. Inside, it's clean, bright, and overlooks a nice water fountain. The bathrooms are also clean and well kept. Value: Portions are generous, even with the lunch specials. You get a cup of rice plus soup or salad, which makes it an even better deal. The single entrées are also reasonably priced. Compared to other Chinese restaurants I've been to, this is one of the most affordable. Food: Everything arrived hot. The calamari was crunchy and well seasoned. The crispy pork lived up to its name and had great flavor. The cherry pork, however, tasted similar to a mix of orange chicken and sweet-and-sour chicken--good, but not unique. Something seemed missing, so I'd give the food 4 out of 5 stars. Overall: I recommend this place and would definitely come back!

I called ahead and ordered the spicy crispy tofu. I even specified EXTRA spicy. HUGE disappointment. There is nothing spicy or crispy about this entree. The vegetables are super bland, there is nothing spicy or even a hint of crispness on the tofu & it is all thrown together in a thick sweet sauce. In short, the title of the entreé is misleading. Just call it what it is, not what it's not. UGH. It was a pick up order so I did not pay attention to anything beyond the food.

I can't speak on the ambiance or the service because I actually did Door Dash because I was home alone and hungry and remembered being told how good the appetizers were at Sticky Rice. I ordered the crab ragoon and the pork pot stickers and they were both delicious. I have to say that my favorite was the crab ragoon. They were still really warm when they arrived and they were extremely creamy and so delicious and definitely could taste the crab in them. Next time will have to eat in.

STICKY RICE is a Chinese bistro and bar located in a business park in Fairfield, CA. A top favorite for my In-laws to break bread and gather with friends & family. The water fountains inside and out provide a pleasant ambiance. Menu items we regularly order are: Won Ton Soup - savory broth with delicate wonton and green onions. A great starter, especially during the winter season. Seafood Nest - made with prawns, calamari, scallops & sliced fish with mixed vegetables served on a nest of crispy noodles. I personally like it when there's extra gravy to soften the noodles. Service is always friendly and food is prepared fresh and delivered promptly. The restaurant is located across the street from Costco, so we always make it a point to grab a bite here after we've worked up an appetite from shopping.

Every time I come here it is clean, the staff speaks (I am big on greeting) and I have never had to wait. Rather it is busy or slow the food is always tasty, hot and fresh as well. Rather I am chillin at the bar or sitting at a table, the serve is the same. This is a good place to go solo as well. The food here is really good. I took my mom here for lunch and she enjoyed it. The lunch If you are looking for good Chinese food in this area just got Sticky Rice. You will not be disappointed.

We're fairly new to Fairfield, coming from San Francisco, and honestly, we were a little hesitant to try out any Chinese restaurants in the area (I've been traumatized before, lol). The menu here wasn't super traditional, there were Thai items mixed in but we ordered what sounded good, and were pleasantly surprised! What we ordered: Bird's Nest Noodles - Looked great and tasted even better! Crispy and flavorful. 8.5/10 Sizzling Rice Soup - Tasty, but not quite enough crispy rice for my liking. Still enjoyable. 7/10 Basil Dishes - Good flavor but leaned a bit oily. Hunan Chicken - Classic Chinese-American go-to. The service was genuinely great. Even though they were busy, the staff was attentive and quick to bring anything we needed without us having to wait or ask twice. The interior was a fun surprise, definitely more modern and unique than I expected, with a bar area that adds a cool vibe. All in all, I'd definitely come back and am excited to try more dishes. A nice spot for a casual but satisfying dinner!

    Happy Hour Menu
    Cherylyn A.

My family and I love this place and my most fave thing to order is their honey walnut prawns and Mongolian beef. We love coming for their lunch specials, probably one of the best in town. Their Happy Hour menu is pretty solid too with the selections they have to offer, it's just hit or miss depending if they have a bartender that day. But when they do, it's definitely worth it! Ambiance is really nice, as this restaurant is located on the bottom floor of a business building with the dining area facing the fountain. Nice and clean and the service is always quick.

    Plenty of seating.

Within minutes, I knew I'd found exactly where I wanted to spend a hot summer afternoon. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between neighborhood tavern and craft beer destination. Vintage bicycles hang overhead, dozens of rotating taps line the wall, and the energy is lively without ever feeling chaotic. Whether you're catching the match, meeting friends after work, or simply escaping the summer heat, Rustwater has that welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for another round. Following the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta from the specials board with a side of crispy tater tots, and it was absolutely the right call. The sandwich arrived beautifully presented on a perfectly toasted ciabatta roll with just the right amount of crunch. Inside was juicy grilled chicken layered with smoky bacon, melted provolone, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a flavorful pesto mayo that brought everything together without overpowering the fresh ingredients. Every bite delivered a wonderful combination of textures and balanced flavors. The tater tots were exactly what great tavern food should be, golden, crisp, and light on the outside with a fluffy interior. They became downright addictive when dipped into a combination of ketchup and a Ghost Hot Sauce that once they are out they are out adding a slow-building kick that complemented the crispy potatoes perfectly. As I enjoyed a cold pint from their outstanding rotating tap list, Spain put the finishing touches on a 2-0 victory over France, sending them to the World Cup Final. Great soccer, an exceptional craft beer, and a fantastic lunch, it doesn't get much better than that on a scorching summer afternoon. Rustwater has earned its reputation over the years, and it's easy to understand why. Friendly service, an outstanding craft beer program, elevated tavern food, and an atmosphere that invites you to linger long after the final whistle. If you're looking for one of downtown Fairfield's best spots to enjoy creative tavern fare, explore an ever-changing lineup of craft beers, and catch the big game, Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom deserves a place on your list. I'll definitely be back to see what's on tap next, and without question, those crispy tater tots will be making another appearance on my table with the ghost hot sauce, if still available, due to the company going out of business.

Your kindness and courteous check-ins throughout the event to make sure we had whatever we needed was super helpful. The food and drinks were a hit with kids. The pizza choices, not so much, but overall it worked out. Having the party room to use is always so fantastic because it is SO loud out in the main space and people could barely hear each other :) We thank you all for making a now teenaged boy add more great memories to his childhood. You were all very easy to work with and we would highly recommend you all to anyone.

Event: Game # 7 NBA Western Conference Finals. Spurs vs. Thunder…read more It's fun, but like most avenues for fun these days, it's pricey. Located inside the Westfield's Mall at Solano Town Center (forever known to locals simply as Solano Mall for short). Better have your credit card on point or a wad of cash to see a good time here. We ate before arriving, as we were looking to move beyond the basic pub food offerings. So, can't really comment on the burgers n' such. Upon entry, it's pretty much an unorganized and haphazard way of seating yourself. But, we found a table close to the bar and with prime sight lines of the big screens. This, despite signs at the tables saying wait to be seated by a hostess (?) Took awhile to be acknowledged by a server, but we weren't in a terrible hurry either. Started with rounds of drinks. Non-drinker myself, my two 12 oz. canned non-alcoholic brews were $9 a piece w/o tip. My buddy had Blue Moon yard flights that were about $15 per. Your basic well mixed drinks range from $15-$20 per, with call drinks priced at market-bearing prices. The "eatertainment" chain also gets their hooks into you with their play passes. These are the cards that you can purchase for you & your kiddos if you wanna play their fancy, state-of-the-art video games. The venue pushes these pretty hard. They have very nice big screens showing the latest sporting events with no cover charge typically. Big plus there. But, of course, you're paying one way or another through the upsell. Server Tiffany was a sweetheart and took good care of us. Be sure to take care of your hard-working servers folks! The armed security guard-bouncers were (surprisingly) friendly & cool with us too. By chance, we bumped into old school homies who are well known in the music industry. They were looking to enjoy the place, drinks and the game on the semi-low. Linked up and exchanged rounds of drinks with them after they shotted us out. Separate bathrooms unattached to the mall were clean & welcoming, always a blessing when drinking of course. Look into adding the Dave & Buster's app on your phone to reward your spending. Why not get some credit for your purchases? And finally, if you drink, please do so responsibly. Use a designated driver or rideshare for the benefit of everyone (PSA). Thank you. Enjoy. Not a bad time at all, just can't let your financial guard down here or else you'll have quite another shock besides a hangover the next day.

This bar is one of the best-kept secrets of the Fairfield/Suisun/Vacaville area; for better or for…read moreworse it is my duty as a frequent patron to let others know about it. The Marriott Bar/Lounge is located inside of the Marriott Hotel. I discovered it one evening while my husband was stuck at a function in said hotel. Rather than be social and mingle with the hotel crowd in one of the many reception rooms with a nametag slapped to my chest, I decided it would be better to go find the hotel bar. Boy, I'm glad that I did. Mark (the bartender at the Marriott) is a wonderful find. His rockabilly hairstyle and snappy black vest assured me right off the bat that it would be an evening of good conversation and good drinks, and I was not disappointed. Here's the great deal that will knock your socks off: on Tuesday nights there is a free appetizer bar (cheese/vegetables and the like) and free draft beer/select wine. Ideally one should purchase a cocktail for the sake of saying "thank-you" for the wonderful amenities; more importantly, one should order a cocktail for the simple pleasure of experiencing a Mark-crafted Manhattan. The bar itself has two flatscreen TVs; by default Mark usually will keep them trained on the sports world unless you make a request. As it stands the lounge area could stand to be opened up a bit more. The conference/dining area next to the bar is frequently empty, which makes the placement of the bar area feel rather arbitrary. The decor is, well, hotel-y. All the basics are behind the bar but do not go if you plan on ordering an esoteric bourbon. They do have Sierra Nevada on tap, which is nice, but other than that your beer choices are fairly limited if you're an avid microbrew fan. My suggestion: get a group of friends together, grab a table early on (especially on Tuesdays) or sit at the bar and let Mark work his magic. You will not be disappointed.
