Wow, had a really good experience here this weekend! Service was fantastic and literally began when we walked up to the door and the hostess shuffled over from his post at the bar to open it for us! Throughout the meal our server was very courteous and super quick(meal came VERY quickly after we ordered). Just as we finished eating one of the managers/owners(not sure really??) came and inquired how our experience was. Food-great; seemed like standard high end pub fare, but noticed some random things with a twist. Menu included Alligator bites, Adult Grilled Cheese, and Calamari Fries. The drink/beer/wine menu is pretty extensive and very notable for this place(Surly, Ale Asylum, and Central Waters....Just to name a few)! I ordered a flight, but was a little torn on which beers to try----SO many on tap! Our server was super knowledgeable and when I told her what types of beers I usually like she was able to make some solid recommendations. We had a great time here during the long weekend! Our server was super friendly and helpful :) I was happy to see that something was open on Memorial Day. It was a very nice day out, so we chose to sit out on the patio. I loved their vast beer and cider selection. They also had some cocktails and I was in for a hard decision! I ended up getting a blackberry pear cider which was great and refreshing. We got the calamari fries, the angus sliders with a side of sweet potato fries and a burrata salad. Our food and drinks came out very quickly. The calamari fries were delicious and definitely something different. I loved the angus sliders too! It was a good portion and a lot easier to eat than a normal sized burger. The waiter recommended the sweet potato fries with a sriracha ranch for dipping and that was a surprisingly good combination- I would recommend you try it! We really love this place. Obviously the place to go when in Cedarburg. Both locals and visitors. Interesting back story to the name. You can ask the staff when you visit. We stopped in a couple years ago when coming back from a trip to Door County. We had heard good things about Cedarburg and wanted to check out the town. Then a return visit last fall. Both times we hit the Stilt House. First trip was warmer months and we were able to sit on the patio. Second time, snow on the ground and dined inside. Both times we had a great experience. Staff is awesome. I'd say the menu is upscale pub food. Great selection with a menu item for everyone. Wine, beer and cocktails are all available with a good selection. I went to the Stilt house on the weekend of the Harvest Fest. The menu had changed a lot for the worse since the last time I dined there. The hipster bartender with the pony tail made it quite clear that he wasn't happy about The festival or having to work. He was probably one of the worst bartenders I have ever dealt with. We had the "Charcuterie Board". I don't know if it was a special for that night or not. It reminded me of a "lunchable" that a 5 year old would eat. Great find for lunch after a day of wandering through Cedarburg on a lazy Sunday afternoon! Hubby and I walked into a packed house but lucky for us there was one table for two in the back. The restaurant is long and narrow giving you a pub feel. I love small plates and they had a great selection of items to choose from. The drink menu was impressive but I opted for white wine. We shared the tuna tartare and the roasted pear and feta flatbread. Our food came out quickly and tasty. Our server was brand new, and did a great job. Popped in here after an afternoon of biking, and was pretty impressed! They have a large outdoor patio with quaint views of the river/gardens or the main drag- made it easy to socially distant during covid! All servers were friendly, very fast and wore masks! This place is frankly not good except for their beer menu. The food is overpriced, and it was truly not tasty. Their pretzel beer cheese tastes like weird smoke. The burgers look like they're made from frozen square patties. The pulled pork is giant weird hunks. The bathrooms are clean as is the establishment. The outdoor garden is very cute. Extended celebrating my sister Betsy's 40th bday for a sisters afternoon/evening in Cedarburg. She's 40 all year folks!! We went to Stilt, it was so good! Betsy loves scallops, and that was the special of the night. Along with that we had the cheese plate, crab cakes, salmon salad, blue gill, and ahi tuna. We also tried many beverages! See the pics. The food and service was fantastic! My sister Emily had hair in her food, like 3 long hairs and a fat bug in her drink. It literally happens to her every single time she dines out. We started with roasted cauliflower which had fried chickpeas and curry. It could be my new favorite appetizer. My wife ordered the bacon brie burger which met all expectations. I had grilled romaine salad and buffalo chicken sliders.The romaine had a grilled sweetness in addition to a load of bacon, tomato, Parmesan cheese and ranch dressing. My wife and i stopped here based on reviews and wanting to try some new breweries while in Wisconsin. The stilt house is not actually a brewery but they have a great selection of Wisconsin beers. We dubbed our "tappas day". The tacos were good. A little 2 small to split for 2 but had great flavor. The roasted cauliflower was really good. Not over cooked. My only complaint was we asked for the aoli on the side but it came on it. This was okay because they didn't drown the cauliflower in the sauce. It was a great stop and a fun little town! read more

Wow, loved this place! Everything from the atmosphere, to the service, to the menu options, to the cute outdoor area is ! Went there on a Friday early afternoon for lunch. Got seated right away and the food came quickly. The weather was perfect, too! I enjoyed a rose martini, which was heavenly. It was a pinch sweeter than my preference, but the light rose flavor was so unique. I also had the grilled romaine salad with an ahi tuna addition. The Romain was incredibly flavorful, I almost ate it without any dressing. And the ahi was cooked to perfection; just the right amount of rawness! The fries were delicious. I don't like a heavy vinegar taste, and so if someone did they may be a bit disappointed. But they were excellent for my tastes. As a vegetarian, finding a restaurant that provides options for me is not always easy. Although not carrying an abundance of vegetarian dishes, the Stilt House used to have a few that I really enjoyed. My husband and I used to frequent this restaurant because we really enjoyed the wooded ambiance of the outdoor area and some very good food. The ambiance is still tops but the number of food choices for me has dwindled, along with the quality of what is left. For example, I used to devour the vegetarian rice stir fry which came with a variety of vegetables. That is no longer available. The last time I was there I ordered the lime avocado chipotle salad and received a bowl of warm, wilted romaine lettuce that was topped with just a sprinkling of the other components: avocado, black beans, corn, cheese. They were more like garnishes. I suppose I could always order sides and make a meal of that but sometimes I would like a main dish that doesn't call itself vegetarian simply because it contains mushrooms instead of meat. News flash: not all vegetarians like mushrooms! I'm hoping that the Stilt House can include more options for vegetarians so that I will come back and enjoy an evening under the tree canopy. read more

This is everything I want in a restaurant. They have an expansive menu, amazing drinks, great specials, a huge patio, and friendly staff. I've been here a few times and each time has been a good experience. We had a few delicious drinks - prickly pear and the blackberry purée drinks were two favorites. We've tried the bruschetta, flatbread, mango jalepeno poppers, calamari fries for appetizers. The only item that didn't hit the spot were the calamari fries, just a bit too thick. We had the pork sliders, chicken sliders, and a few other dinner items which were all delicious. They have warm drinks in the winter. The only negative is the lack of heaters on the patio. I'd love if they could get some heaters and it would be perfect! It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for quality wise. read more

I visited with a group of five on a Friday night. The Stilt House takes reservations but it didn't seem entirely necessary. There is a mixture of standard tables, high tops in the bar area and at least one big booth (where we sat!). One of the first things we noticed is the huge beer selection and large wine selection. Not all of the beer is on tap but there is definitely a large variety. There are several cider options including a cherry cider- yum! The menu includes a bunch of salads, small plates, burgers and sandwiches. The gluten free menu items are clearly marked and while there may not be a huge gluten free selection it's nice that there is at least one small plate, entree, and salad. I tried the trendy chopped salad which was good but loaded with Blue cheese and asiago so I'm sure not very good for you! I also tried the mushroom caps which were HUGE portobellos, this can for sure be an entree if you aren't sharing. Our table had the "goo burger", flatbread pizza and some salads. This place has been on my list for at least a year, and I happened to be in town around dinner time, so I stopped in. The host opened the door for me as I was walking up the steps and gave me a warm greeting. I sat at the bar and was greeted by a very friendly bartender. I believe her name was Jessica. She had a very outgoing and fun personality, the kind of person I would want working for me if I owned a bar or restaurant. I reviewed the beer and drink list and found a lot of craft beer and a few solid imports, including a lot of Wisconsin craft beers, except none from Milwaukee. I passed on drinks and went to the food menu. I was told that all of the food items are small plate style. A display of the special for the night, Southern Fried Chicken sliders ($12.95), sat on the corner of the bar when I walked in. It got my attention, so that marketing effort worked. After discussing options with Jessica, she recommended the sliders, which surprised me a bit considering I saw Lobster Roll and a shrimp gnocchi on the menu, but I trusted her and added a side of fresh cut fries ($2.95). I struggle with the terms that restaurants use for fries. I prefer potatoes cut in house. Sometimes I see them referred to as "house cut" and sometimes I see them referred to as "fresh cut," so I always. She said they were cut in house. When they arrived, I was immediately skeptical. They were cut thicker than I normally see house cut fries cut and they were very light in color, no brown spots anywhere on any of them. I typically only see that when frozen fries are cooked. They fries weren't very crisp, but they were seasoned with salt and served in a metal cup, "cone style." If they were cut in house, they were fried in the cleanest oil and only fried once. Some places will fry them a couple of times for extra crispness. The sliders were good. The chicken had sufficient seasoning in the breading and was tender and juicy with a crispy exterior. They were served on house made buttermilk biscuits, which I found to be a bit dense, but they held up fairly well when eating them, so maybe that is why they weren't light and fluffy. I think they would have been filling enough without the side of fries, so I won't bark at the $12.95 price. My meal was good and my service was excellent, so I would go back again and try other menu items and hope for the same amazing service I received on that visit. read more
