Not being from the area, and walking around Valencia Street we saw Anthony's Cookies and my wife wanted to check it out. Simple bakery with some seating to relax at. No outside seating at all. No customer restroom in sight. Customer Service was welcoming and friendly. *Cookies & Cream - good but wished they had more cream pieces. *Classic Chocolate Chip - soft yet had that nice crunchy exterior. Support your local business.

Sadness. Burnt Snickerdoodle

I love this place but this time it was terrible. I usually get 6 cookies each visit. Cookies and cream, toffee, walnut and 1 snickerdoodle. Each cookie was a bit hard. They were smaller in size. This time I was not happy. The snickerdoodle was burnt. I tipped $10 for my worst experience. I'll be back.

Cookies and cream and the others!

Easily some of the best cookies I've had. I didn't go to the store myself, but my coworker brought them in and I couldn't stop eating them. I still think about these cookies from time-to-time.

Fresh small cookies on Valencia! It's a small clean shop that has a number of flavors. I'm a big chocolate chip girl so that's what I went for. Not life changing but execution is good. Warm, crispy throughout with a chewy center, very golden color. Also good distribution of chocolate chips. Very no frills chocolate chip cookie. I wouldn't say these are a must if you're in the city, I'd recommend other bakeries tbh. But! If you are in mission and happen to pass by I would recommend cuz they're fun to munch on while you walk.

Chocolate covered peanut butter cookie

Came here on a Monday night and it wasn't crowded. I got the chocolate covered peanut butter cookie and it tasted like a tagalong cookie from the Girl Scout cookies. It was pretty tasty but it was a bit small for a $4 cookie. It was pretty peanut buttery but the chocolate was melting and got all over my fingers when I was eating it. I enjoyed the cookie but not sure if I would come back as there wasn't really anything special about it to me.

Cinnamon Spice Cookie

Ex-coworker heard that these cookies were good, so we walked over after having lunch in the area. Even though it was MLK Monday, we were the only customers inside. It smelled amazing and there were several racks of cookies. I ordered a Cinnamon Spice Cookie ($2.50) and ate it there. +Still warm -Hard and crunchy -I asked the cashier what the difference was between this and the Snickerdoodle, and she said that it had more spices. Not sure what extra spices it had, but it reminded me of a snickerdoodle, which I like, but wasn't expecting. Side notes: 1.) Limited indoor seating: 2 tables with stools and napkins available *Verdict: Since I prefer cookies that are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, I don't think I'll be back.

Food (1 of 2 stars): Ordered 1 Chocolate Chip and 1 Cookies & Cream cookie. There are lots of flavors though and others I'd be willing to try. The cookies were a bit smaller than I expected but they were overall pretty good! The Chocolate Chip was good as is, but would be even better if I was able to heat it up. The Cookies & Cream didn't have as strong of a flavor as other Cookies & Cream cookies I've had before. Service (2 of 2 stars): Workers were really welcoming and friendly! Ambiance (1 of 1 star): Really open space that smells really good with the scent of fresh baked cookies!

To roll in late on a Friday night, after a tough (really tough) day, I couldn't think of anything I wanted that would make me feel a tiny bit better (and stop that darn crying)... than dark chocolate. What? A park In the front! Nobody in line? A lone employee, quietly washing dishes from the day and music lightly bumping out of the door? Thank you, thank you for giving me all the green flags that I made the right choice. Until... Yes- the Menu Wall!. The wall that dictates your level of momentary happiness. Because if you're from the City and down with AL's cookies, you already know there are no "bad" cookies just lower on the happiness totem pole cookies. And today, my tears were not to be accompanied by dark chocolate chip cookies. I mean no dark chocolate of any kind! I would've even settled for a regular ol' chocolate chip cookie but, no. Not even chocolate chip. No Cinnamon Spice. Just no! At this point between the day I've just had, Anthony's Wall, and the THIRD 90's old school RnB song confirming this was a heartbreak moment- I literally had to sit on a stool and gather myself. The kind-faced employee came to the register and asked how I was. Oh Sis, I know we're pretty desensitized by the encroachers who've moved here, but as a lifelong resident, it's my right to answer your question honestly like the talkative neighbor you know not to ask! (No, I didn't do her that bad) but when I said "Box" and "tears" she stepped up to the occasion! -She remained calm. -She was kind and accommodating while I haplessly ordered whatever she told me was her favorite in order of availability. -She made a pretty okay double latte with what she had on hand (you're not here for the coffee anyway) -Again, she stayed perfectly chill as tears streamed down from behind my shades. A guy cheerfully walked in FaceTiming friends to show off he was at Anthony's! But, I was having a moment, so he needed to go. A two cookie bribe was not hard to make his day and make him disappear My Anthony's Cookie associate made a comment about generosity. I said, "No, I just the days it was just fun to make someone's day." She reminded me how blessed I am and handed me my bag filled with more sugar than I could eat in a month. And yes, they are all pretty great, but I was done after one.

Can you tell how excited I was to eat these that I ripped the crap out of the box?

These are HANDS DOWN the BEST cookies in the City! Also nothing like walking down Mission on a nice day to get some cookies! Ambience is awesome! The quality of the cookie is where its at! I highly recommend the cookies and cream and toffee flavor! I haven't ventured away from those because I just really like those 2. I cannot emphasize enough that this is a MUST GO TO SPOT if you're ever in San Francisco! The cookie is a nice hand-size, where its thin enough to have a nice chew. And the edges are just thicker than the center to where it provides a mountain of a crisp not too crunchy edge. The cost may be a bit pricey for the cookie but I cannot emphasize enough that it is WELL WORTH IT. Coming from a frugal person like me, every time I bring this for holidays for fam that's not in the City; its a hit!! Something to keep in mind is that they run out of flavors quick because I think they get a lot of company catering orders so if you go late in the business hours - its at your own risk.

Really awesome cookies. Stopped by on a Friday afternoon, and no wait at all. Cookies were clearly fresh to the day, so not stale at all, and service was fast and friendly. The cookies are pretty small, but honestly better that way; each makes for a perfect serving. The texture were great on them; slightly crispy exterior, and soft tender on the inside. The toffee chip had a really yummy caramel flavor, while the chocolate chip had a really solid amount of chocolate. Overall, great selection of cookies and flavors. Definitely give them a go.

My wait was about 40 minutes, which felt pretty reasonable for a popular menu drop. I tried the Madame Lorraine, Bourbon Peaches & Cream Twice Baked Croissant, Pistachio Cardamom Sugar Croissant, Strawberry Vanilla Bean Bun, Smoked BBQ Brisket Croissant, and Mocha Graham Butterscotch Cruffin. My favorites were definitely the Madame Lorraine and the coffee graham cruffin. The Madame Lorraine was rich, savory, and packed with flavor, while the cruffin had the perfect balance of coffee, butterscotch, and creamy filling without being overly sweet. What stood out most to me was how organized everything was. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and there was even a line coordinator walking through the line letting everyone know which items were still available. It made the wait feel much smoother and helped people decide what to order before reaching the front. The bakery itself has such a cozy vibe, and I loved browsing all the cute merch while waiting. I almost bought the croissant hair clip and honestly might cave next time. Between the creative pastries, friendly staff, and thoughtful customer experience, Butter & Crumble continues to live up to the hype. I'll definitely be back for future menu releases.

The preorder box came with randomized drops of what's in season that week, our small box came with Herby Olive Twist, Coffee Caramel Pain Au Chocolat, Strawberry Rhubarb Cruffin, Lamb Pain Suisse. The pastries: they really got their lamination down. The pastry shell is amazingly crispy and really good layers regardless of the type of toppings or fillings it has. The flavor combinations were fun and familiar. It's like getting some of your favorite foods being converted into a croissant. Of the ones we tried I really enjoyed the salty ones like the olive twist and lamb, I was impressed how well the pastry kept crispy even with the sauces. The sweet ones like the caramel were too sweet for me to even finish, but that can be personal preference. After trying all these fun flavors I still think the highlight is def the pastry, will need to try the original croissant next time! Ambiance: the vibe of the bakery was great, lots of hard working ladies and feels like they are passionate about what they do. Bright and airy with lots of pink accents. Would definitely come back again, but probably would not wait over a hour for it because we do have a lot of great bakeries in SF.
