    Chocolate chip
    Sheila P.

Came here after a decade, late afternoon. Inside they had a list of their available cookies on the wall. I really wanted to try their toffee chip but they were already out of it. I got their chocolate chip cookie instead and it was pretty good warm off the rack. The nice woman rung me up and we made small talk about my tree nut sensitivity. Would definitely like to come again a little earlier to try that toffee chip :)

By far the best cookies I've ever had. I would come here every day if I could. So many cookies to try! We got the chocolate chip and walnut chocolate chip and both were phenomenal. Loved every bite! If you're in the mission area, grab a few cookies from here, you won't be disappointed!

Walnut chocolate chip - was very good, this is one I would recommend Cookies & cream - was good Peanut butter - was kinda dry

Not being from the area, and walking around Valencia Street we saw Anthony's Cookies and my wife wanted to check it out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Simple bakery with some seating to relax at. No outside seating at all. No customer restroom in sight[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Customer Service was welcoming and friendly. *Cookies & Cream - good but wished they had more cream pieces. *Classic Chocolate Chip - soft yet had that nice crunchy exterior. Support your local business.

    Sadness. Burnt Snickerdoodle

I love this place but this time it was terrible. I usually get 6 cookies each visit. Cookies and cream, toffee, walnut and 1 snickerdoodle. Each cookie was a bit hard. They were smaller in size. This time I was not happy. The snickerdoodle was burnt. I tipped $10 for my worst experience. I'll be back.

Cookies and cream and the others!

Easily some of the best cookies I've had. I didn't go to the store myself, but my coworker brought them in and I couldn't stop eating them. I still think about these cookies from time-to-time.

Fresh small cookies on Valencia! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small clean shop that has a number of flavors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm a big chocolate chip girl so that's what I went for. Not life changing but execution is good. Warm, crispy throughout with a chewy center, very golden color. Also good distribution of chocolate chips. Very no frills chocolate chip cookie. I wouldn't say these are a must if you're in the city, I'd recommend other bakeries tbh. But! If you are in mission and happen to pass by I would recommend cuz they're fun to munch on while you walk.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Came here on a Monday night and it wasn't crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the chocolate covered peanut butter cookie and it tasted like a tagalong cookie from the Girl Scout cookies. It was pretty tasty but it was a bit small for a $4 cookie. It was pretty peanut buttery but the chocolate was melting and got all over my fingers when I was eating it. I enjoyed the cookie but not sure if I would come back as there wasn't really anything special about it to me.

Ex-coworker heard that these cookies were good, so we walked over after having lunch in the area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even though it was MLK Monday, we were the only customers inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It smelled amazing and there were several racks of cookies. I ordered a Cinnamon Spice Cookie ($2.50) and ate it there. +Still warm -Hard and crunchy -I asked the cashier what the difference was between this and the Snickerdoodle, and she said that it had more spices. Not sure what extra spices it had, but it reminded me of a snickerdoodle, which I like, but wasn't expecting. Side notes: 1.) [[HIGHLIGHT]]Limited indoor seating: 2 tables with stools and napkins available[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] *Verdict: Since I prefer cookies that are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, I don't think I'll be back.

Food (1 of 2 stars): Ordered 1 Chocolate Chip and 1 Cookies & Cream cookie. There are lots of flavors though and others I'd be willing to try. The cookies were a bit smaller than I expected but they were overall pretty good! The Chocolate Chip was good as is, but would be even better if I was able to heat it up. The Cookies & Cream didn't have as strong of a flavor as other Cookies & Cream cookies I've had before. Service (2 of 2 stars): Workers were really welcoming and friendly! Ambiance (1 of 1 star): [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really open space that smells really good with the scent of fresh baked cookies![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Two or three of almost everything in store EXCEPT MY DARK CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES! Chocolate-Covered Shortbread Peanut Butter Oatmeal Raisin

To roll in late on a Friday night, after a tough (really tough) day, I couldn't think of anything I wanted that would make me feel a tiny bit better (and stop that darn crying)... than dark chocolate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What? A park In the front! Nobody in line? A lone employee, quietly washing dishes from the day and music lightly bumping out of the door? Thank you, thank you for giving me all the green flags that I made the right choice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Until... Yes- the Menu Wall!. The wall that dictates your level of momentary happiness. Because if you're from the City and down with AL's cookies, you already know there are no "bad" cookies just lower on the happiness totem pole cookies. And today, my tears were not to be accompanied by dark chocolate chip cookies. I mean no dark chocolate of any kind! I would've even settled for a regular ol' chocolate chip cookie but, no. Not even chocolate chip. No Cinnamon Spice. Just no! At this point between the day I've just had, Anthony's Wall, and the THIRD 90's old school RnB song confirming this was a heartbreak moment- I literally had to sit on a stool and gather myself. The kind-faced employee came to the register and asked how I was. Oh Sis, I know we're pretty desensitized by the encroachers who've moved here, but as a lifelong resident, it's my right to answer your question honestly like the talkative neighbor you know not to ask! (No, I didn't do her that bad) but when I said "Box" and "tears" she stepped up to the occasion! -She remained calm. -She was kind and accommodating while I haplessly ordered whatever she told me was her favorite in order of availability. -She made a pretty okay double latte with what she had on hand (you're not here for the coffee anyway) -Again, she stayed perfectly chill as tears streamed down from behind my shades. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A guy cheerfully walked in FaceTiming friends to show off he was at Anthony's! But, I was having a moment, so he needed to go. A two cookie bribe was not hard to make his day and make him disappear[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My Anthony's Cookie associate made a comment about generosity. I said, "No, I just the days it was just fun to make someone's day." She reminded me how blessed I am and handed me my bag filled with more sugar than I could eat in a month. And yes, they are all pretty great, but I was done after one.

Can you tell how excited I was to eat these that I ripped the crap out of the box?
    Ryan T.

These are HANDS DOWN the BEST cookies in the City! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also nothing like walking down Mission on a nice day to get some cookies! Ambience is awesome![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The quality of the cookie is where its at! I highly recommend the cookies and cream and toffee flavor! I haven't ventured away from those because I just really like those 2. I cannot emphasize enough that this is a MUST GO TO SPOT if you're ever in San Francisco! The cookie is a nice hand-size, where its thin enough to have a nice chew. And the edges are just thicker than the center to where it provides a mountain of a crisp not too crunchy edge. The cost may be a bit pricey for the cookie but I cannot emphasize enough that it is WELL WORTH IT. Coming from a frugal person like me, every time I bring this for holidays for fam that's not in the City; its a hit!! Something to keep in mind is that they run out of flavors quick because I think they get a lot of company catering orders so if you go late in the business hours - its at your own risk.

Yes, there's almost always a line, but don't let that discourage you--the staff keeps it moving quickly, making the wait fast and efficient. The pastries are incredibly delicious. Their giant croissants are buttery, with soft, airy layers on the inside and a perfectly crispy, flaky exterior. Every bite is heavenly! My personal favorite is the cranberry scone. It's tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For the best experience, enjoy your pastries while they're still warm--they taste even better fresh out of the oven. Payment is easy since they accept both credit cards and cash. If you're a pastry lover, Arsicault Bakery is definitely a must-visit in San Francisco. We highly recommend it!

I came by on a Friday around 11 am and it was so hard to find parking. There's street parking available but it was all filled up and I ended up getting dropped off since I saw the line forming outside the bakery. The line was only formed because the bakery is relatively small and doesn't have a lot of wiggle room so they only let in one party at a time. There aren't any sit-down tables or chairs so this is a grab and enjoy somewhere else. Pastry: Kouign-amann (8.4/10): Oh this was yummy. I love a good kouign amann and Arsicault satisfied my sweet tooth. It was a little too sweet but had a good outer layer crunch and fluffy interior. Chocolate Almond Croissant (7.8/10): This one was amazing! I will say that this one is definitely on the sweeter side but it was still delicious. It's a pretty big croissant with a good crunch but not a lot of flaking :( I did really enjoy the almond paste that was smothered on the inside. My boyfriend really enjoyed this croissant and wouldn't stop talking about it for a few hours.

We waited about an hour on a Friday morning. On to the baked goods, it was some of the best bakery goods I've tried ever. Everything was delicious in every way. My favorite had to be the coffee cake, the elote corn, and the Lorraine. Wow, so damn good. I know their menu changes, but it's a must try as their base dough for all their items are PERFECT. Each bite is amazing with such a crunch. Their corn latte was also super delicious.

The namesake Pistachio Cardamom croissant was excellent for a filled croissant. It had excellent layers and the cream was just enough to add a lusciousness to each bite that wasn't too heavy. The madame lorraine was my other favorite. It was meaty and rich with the soft baked runny yolk and the light touch of rosemary was just enough to accentuate the bite. The not as good...a standard butter croissant. Maybe we got a dud but there was a serious lack of layers in ours and it wasn't as crisp or as buttery as I like. The elote corn croquiche filling was also quite salty which was a shame because the pastry layer was pretty good. I still have two more pastries to try but given the weight and the mixed bag, I definitely expected a lot more from Butter & Crumble. Pro tip: get a butter croissant at Arsicault, walk to B Patisserie and get a kouign amann. You'll have both before the line moves here.
