Rotating pizza throughout the week and great value for all the fresh variety of baked goods! The Friday pizza feature a simple feta, tomato, basil pizza. The pizza was pretty delicious, especially at $3.50 a slice. Picked a sourdough chocolate croissant too, unfortunately I'm not a fan of the sour dough chocolate croissant. 06/20/26 Saturday PSA: They will be closed from June 29 to July 6th! Review: Stopped by around 1:30 PM and found myself in a short line that went by quick. I've always wanted to try this place since I see a line every time I walked by. There's a lot of foot and car traffic. It's definitely a busy area so expect to park in one of the nearby residential areas or be extremely and walk/bike/bus here! Upon stepping into the tiny shop, I was enveloped in the sweet smell of chocolate chip cookies. It was tempting to put that in my bag, but I stuck with my game plan. They do self serve for all the baked goods and drinks except the pizza and focaccia. You tell the cashier what you grabbed. There's self serve complimentary water on the side too. Got a pecan swirl, one of each square focaccia flavors, and a half pizza (hot). The pizza flavor of the day was triple mushroom with sesame ginger garlic vinaigrette and mozzarella. It was 10/10 delicious!! Do note that they don't heat up the focaccia. Personally, after tasting everything, I'd say the pizza is more worth it than the focaccia "pizzas". The pecan roll was quite addicting too. I finally got to try the pizza at Arizmendi, which has been on my list to try for a while. It's delicious and totally hits the "thin crust California style vegetarian slice made by a local pizza co-op" craving. It will feel very familiar if you've had Cheeseboard in Berkeley as they're affiliated and share some roots in their creation, but they don't have the signature green sauce that Cheeseboard does and I did find myself missing it. Regardless, the pizza was delicious and had super fresh ingredients and was very satisfying. I'd definitely grab a slice here again when I'm nearby! read more

The pizza today was superb! I got the daily special slice which changes. Today's was tomato basil, and it was very basil forward and over flowing with heirloom tomatoes which made it almost refreshing which sounds strange for pizza but it was so satisfying. With a crispy undercarriage and still somehow perfectly chewy melty, it had a great balance . I also got a chocolate chip cookie which was massive for the price, chewy and not too sweet. The service was quick but the out door seating was full today, which reflects the popularity of this quaint and highly popular location. I first heard about this place because Zendaya once mentioned it as one of her favorite spots in the Bay Area. After visiting, I can definitely see why it's so popular. I cannot say enough about this place!! I loved it. I spotted Arizmendi while I was riding the N Muni, and I immediately bookmarked it. It was full of people when I passed it, and I had a feeling it would be delicious. I was right! My friends and I got pastries at Arizmendi and coffee somewhere nearby before going to see the Monet exhibit at the De Young museum. I got a pumpkin muffin and a strawberry + pear + blueberry scone. Both were genuinely so delicious. My friend got a carrot muffin and a piece of focaccia bread with mushrooms and onions. I was in love with every single thing we all ordered. The interior of Arizmendi is small with lots of shelves of pastries and beautiful breads. I wish I had purchased a loaf of bread, but I didn't want to carry it around all day. When my wife and I started planning our leisurely drive to San Francisco, we intended to visit two bakeries, Tartine and Arizmendi, with the goal of purchasing scones and other pastries/desserts. Our cousins were familiar with both bakeries and graciously volunteered to be our foodie guides as we drove to these two bakeries Saturday morning. After visiting Tartine and B Patisserie, Arizmendi was our final bakery and our last stop on our Bay Area foodie tour. Just like the other two bakeries, Arizmendi was a popular destination, it was different than the other two in the selection of the pastries, and I highly recommend their corn cranberry scone and their cheese focaccia. Arizmendi is also located in the Mission District specifically on Valenica and 24th Street. The bakery is in between a Royal gas station and the KitTea Cat Lounge. Parking consists of street parking and just like the other bakeries, parking could be challenging, but Arizmendi is worth the trouble parking and walking to this confectionary paradise. This bakery is a business where their baked goods are enjoyed at home since there is minimal seating. What's unique about this bakery compared to the other two is how the baked goodies are selected. It is self serve where it's a little hectic trying to maneuver around other customers to pick the pastries and breads you desire. The young black lady behind the register who checked us out was courteous, friendly, and took care of us quickly. As you enter Arizmendi, there are four wooden display cases with plexiglass holding scones, cinnamon rolls, muffins, pies, croissants, focaccia, cookies, and shortbreads. As you peer through the plexiglass to decide what to select, make sure to grab the provided wax to pick up your baked goods and place them in the provided bags. One of our friends asked us to grab scones, so scones were one of the items we knew we were going to purchase. My wife selected other items, but I asked her for a focaccia because my cousin said that Arizmendi was know for their pizza breads. I highly recommend you purchase their corn cranberry scones. These scones are hearty, the cranberry is plentiful, and I really enjoyed these while I was drinking a coffee at home. The focaccia I picked was a cheese focaccia made with poblanos, kale, and queso fresco. That square pizza bread was a savory revelation where I devoured that as snack after heating it in our home toaster oven. It was cheesy, the poblanos and kale were tasty, and I completely agreed with my cousin's assessment about their pizza bread. We're so grateful to our cousins for taking valuable time to serve as our foodie tour guides during our trip to San Francisco. Bay Area denizens are blessed to have three bakeries where they can satisfy their pastry, dessert, and bread cravings. We're fans of Arizmendi's scones and pizza bread. read more

Swung by twice during their birthday weekend to try some of their specials - the chili oil bialy was tasty, though I daresay I prefer the original more; and both pizzas of the day - one potato and another triple mushroom, which came with a deliciously tart sesame vinaigrette that cut through the cheesy sourdough goodness were some of the best slices so far! I also got a seasonal scone which came with nice chunks of pear inside, as well as a pumpkin muffin - shockingly tender and fall apart without being overly moist. When I moved back to SF in 2018, the occasions that have brought me into this location were either because someone else picked it as a destination ((work) team ~biking food crawl~, grabbing coffee before a social distanced walk in GGP with friend, boyfriend used to live on Irving and has nostalgia for the 'hood, etc) or because I was hungry across the street getting/looking at shoes and there was no line. , so he's Now that I have my EPI mostly figured out, I indulge in gluten more frequently, but am rather selective in what I deem "worth it". While I can rely on Arizmendi's ingredients being top quality, they often miss the mark for me; there is never a time I think "oooh, I wanna get to Arizmendi today for a cookie/pastry!" Many many other bakeries/shops, based on flavor/density/sweetness, are on my list before Arizmendi. Their pizza is a different story due to the sourdough crust and reasonable portion/value, but again, not the first nor tenth thing on my list when I consider getting out of the house for food. I felt so lucky walking up to Arizmendi and seeing no line. If you know this spot, you know how rare that is. I took it as a sign and headed in right away to grab a few slices of their fresh focaccia. They had three out that day: artichoke hearts with spinach and asiago cheese, tomato sauce with mushrooms, and one topped with tomatoes, corn, and goat cheese. All of them looked incredible. I saw a few people hanging out on the wooden benches outside just enjoying theirs, so I decided to join the moment and copy them. I only took a few bites at first since I was still full from an earlier meal, but even then I could tell how good these were. The focaccia was soft and perfectly baked with the kind of chew you only get from well-proofed dough. The toppings were flavorful, fresh, and thoughtfully balanced. I ended up bringing them home and reheating them on a pan for a little extra crisp, and wow it was a total game changer. That little bit of heat brought the flavors to life even more and gave the crust a satisfying texture. It's the kind of thing that makes you want to come back the next day and try everything else they make. The bakery is small inside, and it's clear why there's usually a line. Everything is made with care, and the quality shows. I didn't get to try their other baked goods this time, but based on the focaccia alone, I can't imagine anything here being a miss. The location is also great, with plenty of nearby cafes if you want to grab a coffee to pair with your snack. It's a cozy neighborhood spot that feels special as soon as you walk up to it. I love their breads. I always get this olive bread that that has color models on top and it's a little circle bread with some corn dusting it's delicious. The breadsticks are super good the same with the cookies and the pizza is also good too they're always super friendly and polite and nice and the service is great. Just be careful.
