Neighbor bakehouse has a friendly vibe, and it's a small bakeshop. Located in dog patch, parking is a tad easier. They offer a variety of baked in house items that range from the savory ( mushroom and cheese "tart") to the sweet of banana croissant invention. EVERYTHING is tasty. Items are limited in quantity, so go early. The mushroom green onion tart is delish! It has a generous amount of mushrooms, manchego cheese, and light green onions. It's a lovely flavor profile. The only downside is that it's not given to you heated. Eating it cold was not optimal. The banana "tart" because I don't recall the exact name, is to die for! It's sweet, it's sooo good! It's like banana crack. It has caramelized parts to it, and you won't want to share it!! The double backed pistachio/blackberry croissant is a food group all its own. It's everything you want in a pastry! The Thai tea was just OK. Super pricey for the amount. It's not that traditional taste profile. The people that work at Neighbor big house are friendly, expedient with service, and this definitely needs to be on your secret places to try when you're visiting SF. It's not that we want to gatekeep, but you are gonna want all these pastries to yourself!

Fantastic pastries! I personally love savory ones like Everything croissant or mushroom tart (5/5 for me) Morning bun wasn't my cup of tea but will be back again to try others! As a top pastry place in SF, there will always be a line and each item is a bit on the pricey side ($6-7) but definitely worth the bite!

Banana Bostock is divine. Absolutely loved her--so much natural banana flavor, perfect creaminess and flakiness and sweetness, gorgeous stunning amazing overall. Did not like the savory pull apart and would not get again. Would be down to try other pastries if I'm in the area

Neighbor Bakehouse is a great Asian surprise bakery in Dogpatch! I love stopping by on the weekends to grab pastries. Recently on a coffee run to get a morning latte at Paper Son next door, I picked up a Banana Bostock to munch on. I ended up waiting to eat it at home so I could warm it up in the oven and it was absolutely delicious. Definitely one of the best items I've tried - the caramelized banana, almond sprinkles, and crunchy frangipane edges are an amazing combo and make for the perfect indulgent treat!

Bruh. I was elated to finally try this place because last attempt, I could not get my hands on any except for drinks (since it was all sold out). OVERALL: Disappointed to the tee. I was craving a muffin so I picked the blueberry and lemon zest; dry af. I always grab a regular croissant no matter where I go as a feasible comparison. Then I had to grab the blackberry pistachio (sounds like a bomb combo??) and the mushroom tart for my savory folks. All of them had a strange taste; I can't explain it... it tasted like stale butter? Or something. Like there was a really terrible after taste. But hey, my pet chickens loved the butter croissant // I don't allow them to try flavored baked goods (they jumped all over me and dug their beaks into the bag). SERVICE: Super patient worker. Was more than willing to recommend items. Was super confident when I asked him for suggestions. Props! VIBEZ: Love the outdoor seating (very woodsy and bricks vibe). No indoor seating. Located beneath a residence in SF; therefore complicated parking. Literally steps away from the main road. Would I come back? Maybe for the drinks (Paper Son) but not for any pastries.

Okay, but if I were neighbors with Neighbor Bakehouse, I wouldn't be able to control myself. Neighbor Bakehouse has literally been on my bookmarks forever. I'm just slow at getting places sometimes. Well, the wait was definitely worth it! My best friend and I made the trip over for our city day, and it was popping on the weekend. Lots of folks lined up to get their baked goods. She ordered for us, since I had my pup. Ordering was quick; all baked goods are on display. You share what you want, pay, and take it to-go. Service for her wasn't the friendliest, but interactions were minimal. They have some tables outside, but most take them elsewhere to enjoy, which is what we did. I got the Pistachio Blackberry Twice-Baked Croissant, Ube Twice-Baked Croissant, Curry Potato Bourek, and Char Siu Croissant. I definitely preferred the sweet pastries to the savory ones. Each pastry was unique and flavorful. You could enjoy the buttery flakiness alongside the filling, making it a perfectly balanced treat. If you're into creative, Asian-inspired flavors, Neighbor Bakehouse is worth a visit. There are typically lines, but it moves fast, and it's worth it. Pricing is comparable to other bakeries in the city. Parking is limited to the street and the neighborhood, since it's off 3rd Street. Looking forward to coming back!

The banana bostock is one of the best pastries I've had. Caramelized banana bear with crisp sweet edges. I didn't think a banana bread looking thing could be so good. I went back a week later just to have it again. I've also enjoyed their savory selections. I'd skip the pull apart thing but definitely eat the cheese and sausage again.

The Banana Bostock pastry is out of this world good! A must on a Sunny morning in Dogpatch. Coffee is great too!

Here's a hill I'm willing to die on: SF bakeries are elite. I have so much faith in their greatness that I approach most with the assumption that I'm going to find something to love. So I start to question everything I thought I knew when I come across a spot with underwhelming product. Neighbor Bakehouse is a teeny establishment in a beautiful brick building. Their savory pastries called to me but having just eaten lunch nearby, I stuck with a couple sweet treats. I was disappointed with the lack of gingery goodness in the Ginger Pull-Apart. I also thought it was a bit dry, & generally not as fresh as it could be. Pistachio Blackberry Twice-Baked Croissant sounded amazing, but again, not much in the way of filling. Despite feeling let down by this experience, I'm certain Neighbor Bakehouse will redeem themselves next visit because SF bakeries remain the crème de la crème in my eyes.

It is difficult to decide which pastries to get here, because everything looks unique and delicious. I ended up picking up these and would definitely get them again: * Bananas bostock * Pandan mochi cake * Char siu croissant * Ube croissant So-so: * Strawberry guava pastelito -- it seemed like a basic jam-filled croissant Weird, but okay to try once: * Miso black garlic sesame bread -- too much miso, very salty There are a few tables in front for your immediate enjoyment of the pastries. If the weather is nice, you can dig in right away.

There are a few places to grab some bake goods along the Dog Patch. I always try to find a good place which bakes some flakey croissants in SF. There is a place which serves great croissants with different flavors. They also sell other bake goods along with Paper Son coffee. This place has also pop ups popping inside on certain days of the week. This place is bakehouse called the Neighbor Bakehouse. Inside they have everything here like the everything croisant and the mushroom tart. The also have cheese pastries. I got the Ube ( purple yam) croissant which so tasty. The Ube flavor savory and not too sweet but it was so flakey like some in SF. This is a great place to grab a Paper Son coffee. There is also outside seating.A good neighborhood bakehouse. An Autumn stroll you should "take "once you "awake "to the Dog Patch at a neighborhood house that they "bake "croissant which is like most in SF which has more than a "flake" You can come when there fog ,rain or "sun" after a jog , walk or a "run "you can get a bake good like the morning "bun' and get coffee before 2pm by "Paper Son"

We were lucky enough to snag a pastry 5 minutes before closing. The Ube Twice Baked Croissant was calling my name so decided on that. When I went to the register, the employee was chatting with her coworker, so I was just standing there until she was done with her conversation. I found that very unprofessional and awkward. My first time trying a twice baked pastry and it was tasty but nothing spectacular. I couldn't really taste the ube, which was a bit disappointing. I would like to try other items on their menu the next time I stop by.

I love this spot but have had inconsistent experiences here. The line here can get pretty long, but I work in the area so am able to stop by when there's no line. The service here is always amazing and is my favorite part, and why I'll keep coming back until I find my favorites. So far I've really enjoyed their bread. I loved the creativity of the char siu croissant, but the croissant part was a little dry for me. I've tried a couple of the cookies and it looks like they're made and packaged outside of the bakery, they were pretty dry. I enjoy the plain and chocolate croissant, although last time the butter seemed different. It had a strong butter flavor/smell, something I've never experienced here before.

I'd recommend going to that one vs this teeny tiny location. It's not a great representation of the Ariscault as a whole. I think we came here around 2 pm, so almost close to closing, but 90% of items were sold out. Yet there was still a huge queue. Why close so early and be out of stock so fast if ppl clearly still want croissants at 2 pm on a Saturday? Also, they forgot two croissants in our bag, and we turned around 30 seconds later and told them they're missing. They needed to "verify" our order, which made me feel like I'm a thief. I promise I'm not stealing when I already spent $37 there. I just want what I paid for!! Anyways, check out the other 2 locations if you're not a local who lives nearby, as they're much nicer.

I've always wanted to try this place since I see a line every time I walked by. There's a lot of foot and car traffic. It's definitely a busy area so expect to park in one of the nearby residential areas or be extremely and walk/bike/bus here! Upon stepping into the tiny shop, I was enveloped in the sweet smell of chocolate chip cookies. It was tempting to put that in my bag, but I stuck with my game plan. They do self serve for all the baked goods and drinks except the pizza and focaccia. You tell the cashier what you grabbed. There's self serve complimentary water on the side too. Got a pecan swirl, one of each square focaccia flavors, and a half pizza (hot). The pizza flavor of the day was triple mushroom with sesame ginger garlic vinaigrette and mozzarella. It was 10/10 delicious!! Do note that they don't heat up the focaccia. Personally, after tasting everything, I'd say the pizza is more worth it than the focaccia "pizzas". The pecan roll was quite addicting too. You can also skip the line if you want to order online on their website and schedule a pick up time, but my gift card didn't work so I just waited in line.
