STIX ASIA IS A GEM IN WAIKIKI. Asian food hall galore with so many choices. It's worth coming to if you want a guaranteed good meal for you buck. It's not the commercialized restaurants ( sorry Waikiki) that you expect on the strip but it is down home good cooking with some specialties ranging from Japanese l, Korean, Chinese and more flavors. It's a perfect place to go to while you're staying on the strip and you don't want to wait in 2 hour long waits for mediocre food. Take a walk downstairs and enter into an elevated food stall experience. I'm not saying it's fancy, but I am saying it's worth a date night or fun night out with friends and family. Fair warning it has this interesting set up tho that makes it feel like its outside but it's technically at the basement of a mall plaza. So weird because the air conditioning is hit or miss but it's nice because the individual places have their own AC. I expected it to be cooler inside and it wasn't blazing hot but it was humid .... But then again you're in Hawaii lol so expect a little humidity depending on what month you come in. Parking; paid and look for a lot ... I'm not entirely sure but it's walking distance from the strip. Pro tip: it's conveniently located by the Ross. Faves: Hojocha latte and Matcha Lattes found here! Even soft serve! Organic Rice Balls ( onigiri) to go. The closest thing I've found to Motomura Gyakatsu ( with unlimited salad!l and the bear dang tempura tendon I've had aside from Japan. Baby friendly : Yes, absolutely yes. Now they have small tables and areas in some spaces but they make it work with what you have if there's space. I took my 6 month old with a doona stroller here and it fit fine. There were elevators conveniently in located in the space. Restrooms: you need a code from one of the food places and it will be on your receipt. They're pretty clean! Enjoy! Try everything. And it's a really good meeting place for families to try different cuisines. read more

The stars are for the matcha place, which is excellent. However everything else was a miss. I would NOT recommend the ramen place here, no flavor in the broth, it feels like you're just eating spicy thick noodles. If you're craving Udon, I would recommend Marugame over the udon joint here. Such a low key hidden little gem off the main road. So many different vibes whether you want ramen, sushi udon, pad Thai etc. Can't remember the name of the place but it had the udon noodles like a little cafeteria. Great underground food court with tons of options located in the heart of Waikiki! There are so many different Asian eateries in here, ranging from more casual stands to cafeteria-style restaurants where you first order and pay at a counter, then seat yourself. We tried an udon place and a spam musubi stand, which were both pretty good. We passed by a Michelin-rated ramen spot, but the broth didn't seem aligned with our tastes, but great to see so many different options. There's definitely something for everyone down here and they also have clean bathrooms (the codes are on the receipts once you purchase from any of the eateries). We opted for Ramen Bario for lunch. In my opinion, this is a typical ramen establishment. I ordered the Bario deluxe ramen, which was good, but not great. STIX Asia ( formerly Waikiki Yokocho )has been open for a couple of years now...it shut down during the pandemic. It is a part of the Waikiki Shopping Plaza. Kai Coffee is on the street level with boutiques and shops catering to tourists. I had a long black while waiting for Stix to open; operating hours are daily from 1100 till 1000p. The food court is on the lower level. It can be accessed via Seaside Avenue via stairs; the other entrance is on Kalakaua Avenue on an escalator. Noodle Street has Ramen Bario. But I wanted to try Kyoto Katsuda. There is more of an Asian theme but the food hall is primarily Japanese eateries. read more

What a fun food court! It's truly an experience just walking around this basement level, hidden food court. Make the trek below to experience being transported to an ethnic food adventure. Although we didn't eat here (tbh it all looked so good and we were a bit overwhelmed lol), we did hop into the photo booth for a mini photo shoot. The husband and I had a great time in that little red photo booth striking poses and laughing our butts off. Best $12 we ever spent on photos! Taste of Asia all in one location! The only downside is that is located below a massive building and I'm not sure if it's wheelchair accessible. There are some photo booths and some trinket stores inside as well as well as a full bar restaurant, sushi , pho restaurant etc. It smelled pleasant and was very clean. There are some stores lined up along the way but not much direction , would of been nice as you walk in if there was a list of the eateries but you just kinda have to research and go into that restaurant. Just to be clear - I'm well aware that writing about a food hall is not all that necessary. Not to say that it's entirely pointless, but you obviously go for the restaurants inside, not for the food hall itself. What's more, in a place like Waikiki, there's really no shortage of terrific options to choose from. However, with so many awesome eateries calling this place home, this place deserves its own shoutout! Located in the basement of The Waikiki Shopping Plaza on Kalakaua, Stix Asia is absolutely worth checking out, especially if you're looking for a relatively quick and cheap meal. In total, there are over a dozen casual eateries across their "Asian Street" and "Noodle Street" areas (no real strict divide) representing not only a variety of Asian cuisines (Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, etc.), but specific specialties as well, like ramen, udon, soba, tempura, sushi, musubi, etc. Across my last couple of trips to Hawaii, I've tried almost a half a dozen spots here (Ramen Bario, Shanghai Bar, Udon Yama, Honolulu Noodle & Co, and Nana's Green Tea) and they've ranged from pretty decent to downright amazing (Nana's Green Tea!). What's more, because it's air conditioned and at the bottom of the building, it's nice and cool down here as you walk around to assess your different options. If nothing else, it offers a short reprieve when it's really hot outside! Beyond the obvious convenience of having so many enticing eateries localized in one place, the other benefit is that it grants so much flexibility, especially if you're in a large group. When my friends and I cane here on our last trip, it was nice that not everyone had to be locked into eating the same thing. Most places don't have much of line either, so you can easily split up and then get back on your way without some folks slowing down the others. Better yet, it also makes it that much easier to hop around and try a little bit at multiple places! Can't wait to check out their pending expansion/opening in Vegas, too! read more

I think this is a newer food court on Kalakaua, since I don't remember it on my last visit. It's on the lower level and there are plenty of options to choose from - udon, sushi, sandwiches, ice cream, onigiri and lots more! It's a nice option to get a little bit of everything or if you have different taste preferences in your group. We came here around 2 pm and it was almost empty. Upon entering, there is a huge directory with the restaurant, cuisine, and layout of the food hall which was so convenient. We wanted noodles so we went to the noodles section and picked a restaurant from there. Each restaurant had ample seating and the table service was quick. I also went to nana's green tea and got a sweet potato matcha pudding drink which was so delicious! They call out your number and must present ur receipt to grab your drink. My friend and I were recommended this Asian food hall and I'm glad we decided to go! It seemed like mostly Japanese food, but I also saw Chinese, Hong Kong, Korean, Taiwanese, and Vietnamese! I love the overall ambience and how it is inside Waikiki Shopping Plaza so it has AC. There is a Noodle St side and an Asian Food side. It wasn't too busy but it was a Tuesday Afternoon around 2 PM when my friend and I went. Service was very fast and efficient at both places we went to. My friend went to Nana Musubi for some musubis first. He said he enjoyed them. They had a variety of musubis with brown and white rice. We both got food at Udon Yama. I had a lunch set for $9.99+tax which included a small curry rice bowl and kake udon! We were in Oahu on vacation, and we stumbled across STIX as we were doing a happy hour crawl through Waikiki. I was so pumped, I had found this spot while I was doing some research to help plan our vacation, so I already had an idea of what to find and indulge in there. We took a walk around the underground food court (reminiscent of actual food courts I've found while in Asia) and found that each "alleyway" was broken down into what they served. STIX Asia (Asian Food Hall) just happened to be a few blocks away from our hotel and we had passed it a few times noting its location. My husband and I were in search of a lunch spot and while walking around we ended up at STIX. There is an escalator down to the sublevel to the entrance. We walked in and noticed that they had several Asian food stands within the space. They had Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese. Theres a few options to choose from here, including an entire section dedicated to just noodles that they deemed Noodle Street. There's certainly a variety of Asian eats to be found in this underground area. An interesting option for those who aren't quite sure what to eat, but know that they're in the mood for some Asian cuisine. Just pop on down here and wander around a bit. The concept of having multiple Asian restaurants on the same floor is excellent. It reminded me of the restaurant floors in Japanese department stores, which I was excited to experience. Unfortunately, the execution fell short. Instead of feeling like individual restaurants, each space had more of an upscale food court or food hall atmosphere. Although the restaurants were separated by walls, the overall ambiance lacked the comfort and dining experience that would justify full-service restaurant pricing. Because of that, I felt the menu prices were too high for the setting. The food itself may have been good, but the mismatch between the atmosphere and the prices significantly affected my overall impression. Dining is about more than just the food--the environment is part of the experience--and in this case, they simply didn't align. Overall, I left feeling that it wasn't worth the time or money, and unfortunately, I don't plan on returning. read more

Such a fun place to visit since they have different options for whatever you are feeling. I got this soba and tempura set for $20 which was a pretty good deal for the amount of food you get. Soba was super delicious and you can choose what type of noodle you want. I went for the original which had the perfect bite and sauce was delicious too. Tempura was good but a bit soggy but I liked the assortment that they gave. One shrimp, two green beans, carrot, and eggplant. Service was fast as well although they aren't that many tables so you might have to wait if they are full. They also validate parking for two hours which is great for locals since I know parking in Waikiki can be a pain. I also got nanas green tea for dessert but forgot to take a picture.
