Came for lunch and sat at the bar, maybe 15 guest in the entire restaurant, 1 other at the bar. I knew what I wanted and ordered immediately- food came out in timely fashion, but cold. I asked the server if they could heat it up, or get me a fresh, hot chicken hibachi. They heated up my plate and served it to me, the chicken was then a little dried out from being microwaved. Rice and veggies were still good though- Being there for lunch, I was in a little rush- I finished my meal and still hadn't seen my server since he brought the food. Did the hibachi grill with my husband and three grand kids:$$$ It was fun entertainment watching the cook bang around the cooking utensils, flip eggs up to his hat, create smoke and fire and even a little volcano with the onions and vegetables. Kids enjoyed the theatrics and we all enjoyed the cooks humor and interactions with everyone around the table. The food: What I got was a huge amount of fried rice which was tasty, grilled veggies and nicely cooked steak and shrimp. And, good conversation with another couple that was seated around the same table. The salad was soaked in a large amount of dressing that was watery and filled the bowl like a soup and the onion soup was okay. We ordered the edamame and cream cheese wontons, both were good. We arrived to the restaurant at 6:45 and were seated around 7:15. There were 4 of us. Our food was served at 8:30 and the waitress came to our table about 4 times in the 1.5 hours we were there. The food was good as usual but the food was incorrect on our ticket so it took about 25 minutes to have it changed. We were driving home at 9:20 and said wow we didn't expect to be at stix this long. Well..... we went to Stix for a night out and to make sure of the time of closing we googled the closing time which was 1130. Only to pull up at 945pm and the restaurant was closed due to it being "GAME NIGHT"! Myself and other guests were in the parking lot looking at the time in the door. I think that that is so inconsiderate. I think companies that are going to closed like that should at least up date their times and openings on their pages. They don't know how far people may have come to eat at their restaurant. Just very inconsiderate. So before you go to them on a "game night" .... call first! read more

Yummy yummy eat eat! That's what Bingo says. Bingo has been a hibachi chef at Stix for 7 years, and I can't recall ever having a chef as entertaining as he is. He's totally awesome y'all! I promise, you'll love him! We started with the sunshine roll, which was the chef's special. It was made with white tuna, and came highly recommended by our waiter, Andrew. It was delicious! We both had the hibachi grill. I had steak and chicken and my hubby had steak and shrimp. It was possibly the best hibachi ever. Not only was Bingo very entertaining, but he also has mastered hibachi cooking to a greater extent than the most hibachi chefs. From the rice to the veggies to the meat, it was all so much better than your typical hibachi. The prices were typical for a sushi/hibachi restaurant. The service was great! I have been here at least 4 times and decided to review. As disappointing as the past 3 reviews were, I had and have always had a positive experience at this Stix location. The hostesses greeted us as soon as we walked in and seated us immediately. Our waitress Bernadette was fantastic and very attentive. We had the Spring Rolls cooked just right, the Hot & Sour soup for 2 and Chicken Pad Thai and Crispy Honey Chicken for entrees. Everything we ordered came in a timely manner and was very good. As to my fellow Yelpers that had bad experiences, I would like to suggest letting a manager know before leaving the restaurant which in turn will not only help future diners but let management know they are missing the mark. I myself have been guilty of the same faux pas in the past but from now on I will be holding restaurants accountable. read more

Stix is the southern equivalent of the West Coast's Benihana. There are hibachi grills, performing "chefs" and lots of energetic staff. It's all a bit cheesy but thankfully the food is pretty good. The one thing that made me sit up and take notice were the shrimp. They weren't sad little farmed numbers, they looked to be gulf shrimp, which are sweeter and finer than any of those commercials jobs. I could have survived on those bad boys with veggies and skipped everything else, including the sushi. I know, I know, what the hell am I doing ordering sushi in this locale? My goddaughter was craving it and so I agreed to share with her. Ugh, that was a poor excuse for sushi. The sashimi was pale and anemic and the dragon roll was drenched in awful-sauce and could barely rear it's head, much less shoot fire. My chicken was perfectly cooked and the fried rice seemed to float everyone's boat, fried and sauced within an inch of it's life. As an added performance bonus the fire alarm went off during dinner and stayed on for at least five minutes. Yikes! Figure that one out kids or you're doomed, for sure. Good thing our virile, young "you sure got a pretty mouth" waiter kept us distracted. Next time, no raw and ear plugs, just in case. read more

My husband and I dined at this location of Stix on Saturday. The atmosphere is relaxing and the music (jazz) was perfect. The service was attentive but not intrusive. We LOVED the spring roll appetizer and we had the Ginger Broccoli with Beef for our entrée. The portion size was large and we definitely could have shared one. Oh my calamari was so light and flaky good robustvflavor with the sweet tangy sauce. Shrimp fried rice was in lg portion and nice sz shrimps. They have okay sushi however I feel that it is overpriced compared to other places. Their other food items are also okay but not worth the price. All together, we choose other Sushi places because it's not worth it to pay that much. However, customer service is wonderful. read more

this place is consistently good for the most part, and i stand by the edamame and ginger salad (if they sold the dressing i would buy it by the gallon). the hibachi, although pricey, is delicious as well. the crunchy shrimp roll, my latest purchase, is unimpressive. it's a better experience if you go with, say, the dragon roll, or another more dolled up sushi. i'm having buyers remorse as my carry out roll stares at me in its styrofoam box, waiting to be eaten not knowing i will never satisfy its fate. read more

So Disappointed. Family of 4 went for my birthday and mine and my husbands anniversary. The wait was very long at our hibachi for someone to come cook. Service was very good otherwise. They have cut way back on portion size and increased prices. Everyone at the grill, our family and the other family we were seated with, ordered two meat entrees except for me. I ordered just chicken and was given much less than every other person. For $25 I would hope to get more than 10 little nuggets of chicken. The restaurant has nice decor and very roomy. Our hostess, Bree, had superb customer service. She was humorous with a great smile. We greatly enjoyed her service and she shared good recommendations. Our family loves hibachi, so we look for great Tallen table restaurants everywhere we go. It's usually not hard to find good food there. Unfortunately since the food depends on the chef you're assigned is kind of a crap shoot. This particular trip we started out with brown rotting lettuce in our salads...a warning of things to come as it turned out! next the friendly Japanese old guy comes out to cook for us. Tragically the flat grill was not cleaned properly from the last use, so the five eggs he scrambled were all a nasty dark grey color...we've never seen that before! He went ahead and made the fried rice and served it up...flavorless! That was a big disappointment! Lots of time they'll put teriyaki sauce, soy, butter and sesame seeds in the rice...not this guy. He used soy salt and a ton of pepper. Not good! The chicken, steak and shrimp were cooked well and were fine. The veggies were also fine. So I guess if we didn't care about the taste of the rice and the rotting salad I wouldn't give them two points! I was pleased to see that this chef did a beautiful job of cleaning the grill when he was done (so he obviously wasn't the chef that had left the mess that he started with). read more

From the sushi to the salads, food was great!! Service was great as well, they keep water our glasses full the whole time. We had a party of 5 and didn't have to wait long for a table or for the food! Overall, I recommend this restaurant for a family friendly place for dinner! To start I've been here many many times and sat at the bar to each sushi and it's been awesome every time. Tonight I wanted sushi but also had my children so I needed a table. Walk in at 8:10 and am surprised to hear a 15 min wait for 3 when I see 7 open booths. We wait the 15 mins and get sat into one of the 7 booths that have been open the whole time. No silverware. No kids menus. No server. A couple that walked in as we were getting seating had since got a table and were on beer #2 as we left at 8:50 without yet getting kids mills or my water. The best part of it all was the lady's enjoying their sushi that were seated one table ahead of us but arrived immediately after us.. This is one of my favorite restaurants. All of their food is so fresh and their service is incredible! I highly recommend getting a hibachi table, the chefs are so nice and definitely know how to make you laugh! I have gone a few times for my birthday and they make it super fun! Finally swung by for a quick bite around lunch time today as I was killing time waiting on the wife to get done with her secret Birthday shopping outing. Walked right in and sat down at the 10 - 12 person sushi bar and was pleased to see that I was the lone customer in that part of the restaurant. Day manager took my drink order, Kirin, and returned promptly with a pint - apparently they have it on draught - what a treat! I opted for a light lunch - miso soup, cucumber salad, 2 tuna and 1 salmon nigiri. All of the food arrived within minutes and was well prepared. I also had the pleasure of seeing a few beautifully executed rolls departing for what I'm assuming was one of the parties dining in the hibachi area. I'll definitely be trying them the next go around when I have more time. Wait staff was very friendly and chatted me up about movie releases, the new iPhone, and other niceties. Benihanas was my favorite place as a kid. I have lived in NYC and South Florida and am used to outstanding Japanese steakhouses. Anything I have to say needs to be taken in that context. I found the decor dated and was very frightened for the food. I would give the food a solid three stars. Not the best but nothing blatantly wrong. We were a party of 8 and Bingo, our chef brought it.
