Came here to celebrate Father's Day. Prior to making the reservation I had called to confirm the restaurant was doing the $69/person steak night deal on father's day. The first host said yes while he did confirm with management. 2 days prior of the reservation, a host had called to confirm the reservation, I had asked a second time to confirm they are doing the deal. The host went to ask again and said yes they were. But surprise m, they ended up not doing the deal. No one called me to tell me that. On my reservation note, I had requested a high chair for our 19 month baby. The hostess said they didn't have any available at the moment and will give us one once it was available. Well...almost done with dinner no one came and no one even came to tell us an update on it. If you know your guest has a reservation and requested a high chair, put one to the side. Then I asked for a booster chair since we were seated in a booth, they don't have those either. Not really safe for a baby to not be in a booster or high chair, safety hazard. My baby had to sit on top of his diaper bag....The excuse was "there's a lot of kids here tonight". As I exit, I didn't see one baby in the restaurant besides mine. If you don't have a high chair just say so. Not kid friendly. The food, is just okay...think of Cheesecake Factory but a little more upscale. Service was good but could be better. In all, I don't recommend, there's better steakhouses in Chicago that are more kid friendly. Communication sucks here. read more

This restaurant is very accessible, clean, modern and trendy. It is also noisy, busy, and expensive! Sure it's nice to be seated right away at the bar at 7:00 on a Wednesday. But to pay $300 for an individual meal (with 2 drinks) is excessive! I stepped back to my traditional starter cocktail, a manhattan. As I say, if you can't make a good one, do t try! For my 2oz $22 woodford manhattan it was crap! The best thing about it was moving on. I sat at the bar and tried to engage with the bartender but he just wasn't a personality to work with. His voice was drowned out but the loud music and his mumbling. I noticed it wasn't just me having a hard time understanding him the couple next to me asked if I heard him. Not good. As bars go, there were those an imbibing a little more than others and they were gracious to rub up against me in an effort to get attention as I ate. For my meal I started the course with Caesar salad and with great disappointment found they didn't have anchovies. Sad. The salad was ok and a ton to consume for one. The portion could have been shared between 3 and 4 people. For dinner I order the lobster Mac and cheese with a 6oz (more like 4oz) filet mignon. Now I have to say, I have eaten many and this was one of the most tender filets in a very long time. I asked for it to be medium rare and it was every bit spot on. It was served with an onion blue cheese butter. I'd recommend loosing the onions as they overpowered it. The Mac and cheese was a good choice. A little oily but really when isn't it.. with the addition of the lobster it was overkill but a nice addition. Maybe a price conscious alternative is langastino. While enjoying my meal I looked at the variety and sampled a couple reds ending up with the best of the group a Caymus Cabernet. The sad thing was again a two once pour cost $57 and the bottle cost $99! To say the least, I enjoyed my meal. I did not enjoy one of the two bartenders nor did I feel the meal was worth $300! Very cool place, love the decor. We had 8 people and our table was soooo tight, we barely had room to move. We had to ask if we could pull chairs up to the booth, I wish we were seated at a bigger table. Overall service was slow, food took awhile to come out, and was hard to track down the waiter for another drink. The bread that they bring out is the best part. Very fluffy and full or flavor. I got the 10oz filet, and this was such a let down. It was cooked well, but it was lacking flavor. I didn't know a steak could taste so bland. The Brussel sprouts were good. I came in to have a quick late night dinner on my final night in Chicago. Vladimir greeted me and kept me entertained the whole night. Well, him and the gorgeous gals that I was sitting next to at the bar. What I thought would end up being a quick dinner ended up actually being us staying an hour after closing having shots. All of this and I had a flight at 6:30 am that same morning. Like a true savage in the night, but I digress... Ordered the surf n' turf and paired that bad boy with a glass of 2018 Duckhorn Cabernet. Talk about the perfect pairing for the perfect steak! The presentation was lovely. The filet was cooked to a perfect medium. It was lean, juicy, and seasoned just right. The asparagus was grilled to perfection and the lobster tail was perfectly poached. A mouthwatering surf n' turf for that ass... I'm telling you! I can't forget about that garlic butter bread! So friggin' ADDICTIVE! Soft, warm, buttery, and garlicky. If you leave here without ordering this bread, something is seriously wrong with you. It's so damn scrumptious! The cocktails are to die for! Vladimir surely knows how to whip up the magic with them dranks. I loved the Dance with Me Cocktail. David came around to check on us and I found out that he's a serious wino. He let me taste some of their best wines and damn were they amazing. The wine list is superb and I don't say that lightly. Everything about this experience was fantastic. We had an early (4;30) reservation for my granddaughter's birthday dinner. A great table that comfortably seated 10 (7 adults) in a corner so we could have a pleased conversation! And the service? Nathan is the kind of waiter who listens and makes great specific suggestions and took all of our needs into account. The kids had their Shirley Temples in record time. Our drinks came soon after - each as Nathan described them. When the steak came - served family style - my grandson tasted it and declared it was DELICIOUS!" It and all the sides were. Really good tasting menu with 3 options for an appetizer then choose your main from 2 steaks and several fish or a chicken. They start you off with a bread load that has a chive spread on top and was mouth watering sooo good. Portions seemed normal size and we shared everything. The shrimp cocktail with pickled jalapeños was in point. We shared a salad as well then got the Ny strip and filet. *This review is for a to-go order and is solely based on the quality of food I received* I was very excited to finally try STK Steakhouse - this was the restaurant I was looking forward to trying the most here in Chicago. I got the Pull Apart bread, Wagyu Burger & Chips, and the Bag O' Donuts. I ordered the burger based on its description of having American cheese, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and special sauce. It came with pickles on it that were not in the description. I'm allergic to pickles, so the burger was inedible. The chips were OK, so I ate those. The pull apart bread was kind of dry - I assume that's from sitting in the to-go container too long when it was hot. But the donuts were the best part! The sauces were really sweet - raspberry almost too sweet - but when you mix them together, in an odd way, the different flavors mellowed each other out. I was very disappointed with the food I received from this restaurant due to its high ratings and price point, but I believe the quality of the food would be completely different if I had dined in. read more

STK Chicago is a beautiful restaurant. While it might seem like that they have the standard steakhouse fare, the service and the ambiance are definitely par excellence. We got the tomahawk steak with chimichuri and au poivre. I was a huge fan of the steak but the side that had the truffle butter on it was a little tough but nothing that was unpleasant. Our sides were the lobster mac and cheese and the steak frites. The fries were some of the most tender and amazing wedges I have ever had. While the mac and cheese was good, the flour wasn't cooked all the way out so the roux had a bit of a mealy feel to it in certain bites while the others were perfect. Despite the long wait time having reservations, the drinks definitely took the edge off and our server was great. If I am in CHI town again, I would love to go back - just not during a busy weekend evening. read more

Pricey but worth it. Came here to celebrate my husbands birthday. I made reservations about 2 months ago to ensure we got in and at a decent time. We took an Uber but they do have Valet, I didn't see the price. When you walk in you feel like you just stepped into a club. The ladies are wearing tight fitted dresses and the music is bumpin! We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation time but they sat us anyway. Our server came right away and introduced himself and the service was great all evening. The menu is nice, a lot of selection of you are into steak. The pricing is a little high but I think it's worth the experience of it all. I won't give away too much in case you want to come, but there are little surprises done though out the evening. I really enjoyed it a lot and the music was 10/10! First time at STK Steakhouse! We had a reservation at 7:30 on a Friday. It was packed when I got there and all the reservations were behind, there were a lot of unhappy people waiting to get seated. We had to wait over 40 minutes to get seated. It's a hot mess. They really need to do better with management. No one likes being hangry. Aside from this, overall experience was great after finally getting seated. Our server, Chris, was amazing. Very enthusiastic and explained everything very thoroughly. The vibe of this place is so fun! Very popping and loud unlike regular steakhouses. I wouldn't be surprised if the place turned into a club at night. They have a DJ and during dinner, all the servers came out with firework sticks(?) and went around tables dancing, which was fun to see. After the mini show, they went around giving free shots which tasted like delicious juice. We got a jumbo lump crab cake and dry-aged porterhouse with king crab Oscar topping. Crab cake was delicious. So crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. We asked for medium for our steak which came out more medium well, but it was still delicious. The dipping sauces, chimichurri and au poivre were both SO GOOD. Especially the au poivre. For drinks, we tried spiced watermelon, not your daddy's old fashioned, stk mule, and el toro rojo. Loved the spice and the kick of the spiced watermelon cocktail. Old fashioned was also so smooth. Mule was typical and expected. Toro rojo was strong af. Chris said they don't really follow the description for the toro rojo drink. Very strong tequila base. My favorite was the spiced watermelon! We had a reservation and still had to wait over 45 minutes. It was body to body in the waiting area during flu season. Our server was excellent, but the food was horrible. We had prime rib, crabcakes and lobster macaroni. The prime rib was like facia off of a body. It was inedible. Very overpriced for what we got and disappointing for a Christmas dinner. I would never ever get prime rib there. Two pieces that were exactly gross. You could not cut it. You could not chew it and it had no flavor. So we just had our Anniversary Dinner here and it was soo good! Bria was a great host. Her drink suggestion was spot on. We loved it. The bread was delicious, don't know what was on it but it was amazing. Hubby said that he'd give 4 stars because the steak was good but it didn't have too much taste to it..... everything else thooo... was great! They gave us a free dessert and two glasses of champagne for the occasion. Bria didn't even mind taking our picture afterwards lol so it was nice. I can't say enough good things about STK. And I hope everybody considers coming here for any sort of celebration. I was looking for a place to celebrate my sister and I's birthday last minute before our flight home. My husband and sister suggested a steak place, and STK was open earlier then most steak restaurants/fairly close to our hotel. I made reservations in OpenTable for the day of. We walked over there and was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful it was inside. Very classy but not cold. It's obviously a very nice place, and even though we rolled up in sweat pants/hair in a bun, they were still super friendly towards us. It was very nice and made us feel very welcomed. We were shown to a nice booth and greeted by our waitress, who we loved. Just super friendly and efficient in general. She immediately acknowledged it was our birthday too! We have literally been over eating the whole weekend and was trying to reign it in a little/not feel like crap during our flight home. We decided to forego appetizers so we could enjoy dessert. All 3 of us got the surf and turf with lobster. My husband got his with wagyu butter while my sister went for the truffle butter. I went with plain because I didn't want my jeans to feel too tight. We also got sides of creamed spinach, mac & cheese, and corn pudding The food came out fairly quickly, and everything was perfectly cooked. They come and torch the butter so it melts into the steaks. We all ate very fast. The lobster is already de-shelled and made it easy to eat. The steak was well seasoned (even without the butter). The sides were larger then we thought they'd be too! My husband and sister loved the corn pudding (slightly sweet). I loved the creamed spinach, it was overly saturated in cream and you could still taste the texture of cooked spinach at some points. The Mac and cheese was fantastic too. It was a lot of food for the 3 of us. We also decided on the apple pie with vanilla ice cream and the cheesecake. Our waitress brought it out with chocolate signs that said Happy Birthday and comped both desserts. It was incredibly generous. Then she had the electric violist come over over play Happy Birthday to us! With another waitress bringing over sparkler candles. It was all very appreciated. I can't get over how welcoming they were even though we were dressed in airport clothes and, and what a great birthday celebration we had overall. Thank you STK for making it amazing. So I went here for Father's Day and I enjoyed the food !! The bad review comes from getting sick ! I'm a pescatarian and I DO NOT EAT MEAT . Unfortunately even after telling the waiter taliah I don't eat meat somehow my mash potatoes had pork in it . They were tasty however I got really sick with a stomachache. I called n they told me they were sorry n was going to figure it out ! They didn't because I didn't get my call back . I would like a refund . I was going to accept maybe a Giftcard to return . I spent nearly 200$ that day . You would think my service would be great after I was sick! I'm super dissatisfied now . I'm usually pretty cool after a sorry but sorry doesn't help my sickness . I've been meaning to check this place out for a while now and I finally made it to the Chicago location, even though I live in LA! My girlfriend and I decided to dine here last minute, there are so many steakhouses to choose from in Chicago, but she loved the one in Las Vegas and I was down to give it a go! After we were seated at our table, Bria B. greeted us promptly! She gave us the whole rundown of the menu since it was my first time and she also made great recommendations, many of which we chose. Thank you so much, the service was amazing! We started off with a couple of cocktails, the Cucumber Stiletto - Grey Goose le citron vodka, St. Germaine, muddled cucumber and mint. This drink was perfectly balanced and very refreshing! We also got the Not Your Daddy's Old Fashioned - Woodford Reserve, Angostura Bitters, brown sugar and vanilla bean. Loved the vanilla in this drink, it gave the classic old fashioned a nice touch. Moving on to the food, we loved their blue butter bread, it was delicious! And you have to dip it in the cilantro oil. After that, we tried their Crispy Calamari - basil, shishito peppers, roasted garlic & lime aioli and sweet chili sauce. Served with both the rings and tentacles, it was perfectly crispy and I loved the dipping sauces. And don't forget to squeeze some lemon all over the dish! Onto the mains! I got the 14 oz Dry-Aged Delmonico and the lady got the 6 oz Filet & Lobster Tail. Both steaks were amazing and perfectly medium-rare. I really enjoyed the flavor of the Delmonico and I'm typically a dry-aged ribeye kind of guy but, surprisingly, I enjoyed the filet a little more. On the other hand, the Confit Mushrooms were out-of-this-world! I believe they were prepared with bacon, cheese and green onions, other then that, I have no idea. So good! Don't pass these up if you like mushrooms. We also got the Loaded Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes - perfectly golden parmesan crust on top. When we dug into them, we founded all of the loaded toppings inside. Another side I would not suggest passing up! They were delish! We thought about dessert, but we just couldn't do it. We visited STK during restaurant week hoping to try a variety of items on the menu, and it did not disappoint! Service was attentive -- they did a good job of keeping up with the large crowed restaurant week is certain to amass at a place like this. We started with the oysters and were pleased to receive a mix of both east and west coast. They were fresh, clean, and expertly shucked. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, sharing details about the types of oysters we were served, and amenable to our request to having a salad come out between the designated restaurant week courses. The blue iceberg (STK's take on a wedge salad) was delicious, and definitely big enough for two to share. For our entrees, we tried a couple different cuts - the wagyu flat iron and the filet - both of which were fantastic and tender. Wanting to try a bit of everything, we also ordered a couple of sides and upgrades to our steaks including shrimp and the béarnaise sauce. The shrimp had a fantastic texture which leads me to believe their seafood here is fresh, not frozen. While the food and service were great, the atmosphere is, admittedly, not for everyone. The room gives off a swanky, club feel and they have a DJ in house to match. It's definitely louder than the average restaurant, but the DJ stuck to mostly remixed pop hits, which kept the vibe more casual. read more

This place is a whole VIBE. There are many steakhouses in this part of downtown but this location stood out in my opinion because of its elegant romantic atmosphere. There were beautiful pink and white flowers and modern seating with dim lighting throughout that gave the environment a scenic and interpersonal experience. For this visit, our waiter was courteous. We ordered, New York strip steak, potatoes, asparagus, crab cakes and fried calamari ... everything was absolutely delicious.. my favorite menu items were the bread and butter & crab cakes and the cheesecake. You know this place is gonna be fancy because it is a single, hard consonant word and doubly-fancy because there are no vowels. This also means it is probably gonna be expensive. First, the second. STK isn't any more expensive than you'd expect compared to other higher end steakhouses. Take a look at the menu and see what I mean. You get what you pay for and the beef was very good; not life changing, but seasoned well and cooked to order. Get the butter on top. I didn't and I regret it every day. Sides were tasty as well, particularly the roasted vegetables which had an excellent char to them that really enhanced the flavor. Now the first. I'm happy to see someone doing something with a steakhouse concept that is different from the staid, hypermasculine look that so many others have.
