I ordered the Spicy Chicken sandwich (requested that it was prepared un-spicy) and my my bf ordered the Braised Short Rib plate which included two sides. Although the short rib plate includes two sides, there was still an up charge for his side of broccoli of $4. The Braised Short Rib ($29) was super tender, on a scale of 1-5 rated at a 4. The Chicken sandwich ($19) is rated a 5, was made to perfection and perfectly flavored. Updating because Stockholders has really become one of my favorite restaurants. The food and service are always good and I look forward to coming here. I ordered short ribs and calamari today for takeout. The short ribs were okay, seemed a little dry, not incredible the way people rave, but still pretty good. The calamari, with it's lemon and peppers, is one of my favorite starters and honestly one of the reasons I come back. The portions here CANNOT be beat, and it's almost like I'm going to a friend's house or family member and they're making sure I'm well taken care of. The menu still changes, but it's always updated online and I never have the issues that arose in the past. I was at a special event 5 days ago with about 30 (maybe more) people and we were celebrating with 4 cousins from Ireland who were in the states for a wedding. We had a limited menu with choices of Steak, Chicken, & Fish. Some of us had the steak including myself and my steak had a lot of grizzle in it. I could hear others around me complain about the same thing regarding the steak. My only regret was not in sending it back. I was a bit skeptical when we were seated next to a couple who were feeding with their dog under the table. The dog was clearly not a service dog. Probably more of a comfort. We decided to sit and order dinner since the dog was quiet and mostly under their table . Food was good . We had the beet salad, lamb lollipops and baked stuffed lobster. Had stockholder's porterhouse and partner had sirloin strip . For a restaurant that advertises itself as a steakhouse the meat was tough. I have had better meat from Market Basket. The price was expensive for the quality of steak. The service was very good, the waiter was not over bearing. To pay over $100 for two steaks and 2 drinks made a birthday celebration disappointing. This place is awesome! I didn't take pictures though. I got delicious steak tips & my sister & nephew got the baked schrod. Both were enormous portions. Sides are enough to feed two people. The ambiance is beautiful but you can go in with jeans, shorts, etc. very nicely decorated & the most comfortable chairs. The bar was huge! Our waiter was on point. We didn't have to wait long at all. The bread with the dip was outstanding. They also give you pickled black eyed peas that were surprisingly tasty. There is plenty of parking. A must try! read more

I'm not sure if it was the alcohol impairing my judgment, all the food that followed was pleasant and well-portioned. This restaurant is located on the outskirts of Abington called Weymouth. We went here for lunch based on local recommendations. The menu had lots of choices and they had daily lunch specials. I ended up going with the lobster roll with coleslaw (see picture). The lobster was very fresh to the bite as was the coleslaw and fresh bread. Dessert was the caramel apple pie with vanilla ice cream, a very tasty treat I was forced to consume after reading the description from the dessert menu. I love this place, i really do. always had good experience with great food. I was fully taken advantage of when i ordered the "2 lb" baked stuffed lobster at $65 + tip. a little overkill stuffing with shrimp and when i got to the tail, where most meat is found, it was EMPTY. i small sliver of meat, very small. It was obvious to me that the meat was used for other meals, perhaps the lobster rolls. I strongly stay away from the baked stuffed lobster. I should have taken a picture and talked to manager, but my wife didnt want me making a fuss. Please stop giving me gift cards to this place!!! Had another crappy 14oz sirloin (see picture server even packed up the unedible pieces for me). To be fair, our server was very good , and the green beans were cooked perfectly. But the steak was tough, grisly, and had running through the middle. I have noticed they don't advertise their steaks as Angus, prime, or choice, which tells me they are probably using upgraded beef. A couple of points, I did not complain because I expected to get a less than quality steak, and I would not have been there except I have a bunch of gift cards. This brings up another point that really aggravates me. The gift card can't be used towards the tip, IMO dumb policy, only hurting the waitstaff. This review is from an experience I had a few years ago, but I still want to get it out there. I came in with my best friend and our daughters for a nice dinner. As working head of household mothers, we couldn't afford to do this often at that time, but we are foodies and enjoy good steaks. We wanted to treat our daughters to a special meal. I'd heard about this place and someone had recommended it to me, so we decided to try it. My friend and I ordered Filets, md-rare and rare, respectively, and the girls each got sirloins md-rare. We also got asparagus if I recall and likely something else, served family style. When we received our steaks, all 4 were charred and black on the outside, rare in the middle. They were awful. I don't know if the cook was sick that day and they put the janitor to work in the line or what, but it was BAD. I think we were more reluctant to complain back then, and the whole table had steaks that should've been sent back. Today I would've absolutely sent it all back. We had to cut the char off the filets to make them edible. Filets should be great at every bite and every part perfectly edible. The girls didn't even bother with the hockey pucks in front of them. I think we sent one back and the second was not impressive either. We were so disappointed and we decided we really had to tell the manager of our dissatisfaction with 2 uneaten black crusty sirloins that were rare (one redone was better but still charred all over) and our filets, half left in black burnt outer portions we cut off on the plates. We are the sides more than steaks and sides were good. The manager took 1 sirloin off the bill. We were so disappointed our $150 meal before tip was so gross and they couldn't manage to cook steaks properly at this steakhouse. The manager must've seen that these were not up to par, but did the bare minimum. I would've expected he should've taken the 2 untouched hockey pucks off after least, and maybe something towards another visit to make up for that disgrace of a meal. Not even. It's the principle with these things. This was not something we could do everyday at the time and that it was supposed to be special made it that much worse. Needless to say, I've never been back. The food is incredible. I am extremely fussy about steak so I rarely order it at restaurants but...Stockholders is batting .1000. Their steaks melt in your mouth. The flavor is what you hope for when you smell grilling beef. The atmosphere is relaxing and nice. Our waitress was knowledgeable of the menu & sold me on a swordfish dish that was easily a 10/10. Curbside delivery/takeout is available for their full menu. Call in to order! Price point is commensurate (if a bit lower) for similar plates at regional steakhouses/modern American fare, and the overall quantity is significant. Each cut comes with a starch (go garlic mashed!) and veg (butternut squash puree or tendercrisp green beans), and is fairly well trimmed, all depending. To set an expectation, their steaks are grilled over an open oak fire. Commendable - admirable even! - but habitually prone to temperature and crust mismanagement. Went in a bit hesitant but hopeful, as they've been around for a while and they are a steakhouse, so... Her filet ($34), ordered medium rare, finished medium well and burnt bitter on the outside. Flavor was solid, but she had to shave the surface beef to get to what's edible; for a small cut, that's a big chunk of what's paid for out the door. My NY sirloin ($31), rimmed with a fairly layer of non-rendered fat, had a nice peppercorn crust and a mostly mid-rare center, but there wasn't a drop of moisture in it. Either a) it was poorly frozen previously, or b) the guessing game worked for the surface at the expense of the inside. After cutting a third of its weight in knobby fat away, the rest was fairly dry. Again. favorable flavor and the plate looked great, especially with the mountain of deep green beans and a triple scoop of garlic mashed, but the star of the show ate more like an understudy. Possibly an off-night, as the inside was packed when I arrived to pickup, but it was our first impression, and I'm not sold on a quick return. read more

Tomato, red onion, and I'm pretty sure house made Bleu cheese on the side. Great appetizer. Worth the price. My wife was unsure about the scallops with lobster risotto but I had to try it. Even for takeout it was outstanding. Big portion of creamy risotto with chunks of lobster tail meat. A full lobster claw, and 5 giant sea scallops cooked to perfection. 11/10 would get this every time. The short rib Mac and cheese was bomb. Super creamy sauce, and the braised short rib was enormous and tender. Felt like a full pound of penne. Easily 2 meals. We got a Cobb salad and saved it for lunch the next day and it totally held up. Crisp greens, tomatoes, gorgonzola, egg, tons of bacon, and cubes of off-the-bone ham and grilled chicken. So good. All in all a fantastic experience, even for takeout. Beyond expectations as far as service, quality of food and portions. Even though it's worth it this place is definitely pricey and always seems very busy. Arrived at 845 on a Wednesday night. Dining room was a little less than half full with guests and the bar slightly more than half occupied. As a party of two we decided to sit at the bar for dinner after a hospital visit. We were greeted quickly the bartender who asked if we would be dining or only enjoying cocktails. We informed him we would be dining to what seemed like a slight inconvenience to him. We were set up for dinner with a napkin placemat, bread plate and silverware roll up as well as menus. Our drink order was placed (a cosmopolitan and ice water) which were delivered promptly and the cocktail was very satisfactory. After a few minutes of looking at the menu we were asked if we were ready to order which we responded with needed another moment to decide. Several minutes went by and the bartender can over again to take our order. I had a question on the menu which he was able to answer with perfect knowledge of the menu. Our food order was taken. While waiting for our food we were pretty hungry after a long day at the hospital and saw other guests with bread service. We asked for bread the next time we were able to catch the eye of the bartender who said yes she would grab us a bread set up. As she was retrieving the bread our food arrived. Our entrees Prime Rib and haddock sandwich were underwhelming. The prime rib was ordered medium rare but came out closer to medium well. Though flavorful and paired with a delicious jus the meat was not super tender. The sides(au gratin potato's and green beens) were terrible. Plain flavor and cold. The fish sandwich was also a let down. A small piece of fish that was in a very plain batter. The house made chips were delicious. I used the bean dip served with the bread as a dip and that was amazing. While eating dinner both our water and cocktail were empty for most of the meal and were never asked if we cared for another. The bartenders on duty were more concerned with cleaning and stocking duties than finishing serving the guests on hand. When finished we asked to wrap the remainder of the food to take home. We were given boxes to wrap the food ourselves. After taking a peak at the dessert menu we decided against it and concluded our meal. read more

We had a great dinner at Stockholders! We got there early (glad we did - it was insanely packed when we left!) We were seated at a nice little table off to the side of the bar. I had the Porterhouse - cooked perfectly and HUGE. My friend had the old fashioned turkey dinner - was great. Portions are out of control huge - def enough to share or take home. I went here for a quick lunch and ordered three appetizers: * little big mac sliders * fried truffle mozzarella sticks * jumbo teriyaki chicken tenders The sliders came with 3 sandwiches with beef patties, american cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce and thousand island dressing . They were delicious but I wish they toasted the bread. The fried mozzarella sticks came with marinara sauce. They were a bit soggy and I couldn't really taste the truffle flavor. I haven't actually eaten inside yet but my family has gotten takeout twice and both times have been a great experience! The quality is really great as the steaks are so tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. We also love the mac and cheese as it has a ton of of flavour. Tonight we tried the turkey dinner and for $27 it was definitely worth it. The portions are huge and the turkey dinner could definitely feed three people.
