Whole Pig Banh Mi (On a Potato Bun)
    Albert A.

Came here on a Saturday night, not much of a crowd inside. There are a few tables, a restroom, and counter seating facing the storefront window. I ordered the Whole Pig Bahn Mi; they were out of the long bread for sandwiches, so I opted for a potato bun (vs a wrap). The Whole Pig Bahn Mi is absolutely packed with juicy pork and loaded with flavor. The crisp ends of the pork were my favorite. On the first bite into the sandwich, I knew this sandwich was different. It's really just so delicious. It was a little oily, but it was very easy to get past that -- think the long bread would have helped here so that'll be something to check next time. The cucumber was a nice touch here as well -- refreshing and additional crunch. Value: 5/5 Quality: 4/5 Quantity: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5

The menu was juts big enough it left me torn but everything we got was amazing. The short rib BLT was perfect. And the house made fries and sauce were so good! Appreciate the recommendations from the staff.

    Pulled Pork Banh Mi

Was in the mood for a local sandwich spot and overall this was a fine choice. The menu is a bit small but had some interesting options. Went with the cheese steak & the banh mi. I'm not typically a huge fan of banh mi, but the reviews made it seem like this was the one to try. It was a good banh mi as far as banh mi sandwiches go- the pork was nice. Not an overwhelming amount of picked vegetables, which was ideal but the bread was a skosh soft for this one given the amount of sauce. The cheese steak was a much better option. The steak was delicious and the cheese was perfectly melty. The bread could easily have been too soggy and wasn't, which I appreciated. Also grabbed some of the fried potatoes, which were maybe the best part. Perfectly crispy with a nice dipping sauce; it was also a fairly hearty portion. The order was ready quickly and the one guy working there (chef, cashier, etc.) was nice. To-go is probably the way to go as the seating is a bit limited, but parking was easy enough right outside.

We got the whole pig Banh mi and it was amazing! We just happened to stop by during happy hour and tried the wings - very good highly recommend. We ate them so quickly we didn't snap a pic. Overall really cute place that's pretty nondescript on the outside.

Their banh mi is pretty amazing. The portions are big and they pack it with toppings. You can easy buy one to eat for two meals.

First off, it's a pretty small place, almost a hole in the wall joint. Sparse seating for maybe a dozen to 20? The entry is also small so look carefully or you'll pass right by it. We were in the Eastern States Penn area and Philly is all about sandwiches so we had to try this highly rated place. Ordered the whole hog banh mi and the falafel banh mi. The whole hog sandwich was delish and pretty large too. Full-flavored with just the right amount of juiciness from the meats. The falafel banh mi was less successful primarily cuz the falafel balls do not contribute much moisture to the sandwich. Having eaten my share of falafel pitas, this one was a bit dry. Braised beef and the famous potatoes next time. Still, a neat place to grab a quick lunch or to take out a few sandwiches w/o breaking the bank. Parking is typical street parking and seemed plentiful.

This is a small sandwich spot nestled within Spring Garden. The folks inside were nice and offered really friendly and quick service. My chicken sandwich was cooked well, was flavorful, and the Stockyard sauce really added a good component to it all. However, I tried my fiancee's bahn mi sandwich and it tasted awful. The meat was very over-salted. The bahn mi sandwich (not pictured in this review) was disappointing especially since we were told it was their most popular item. I understand mistakes happen, so I hope to come back to try it again sometime.

I have to say I do agree with the whole Philly is the "Sandwich Capitol of the Universe" ! We know how to make them, and Stockyard you've just been added to the list of places one could venture off to. I am telling you it is not an easy decision to make when you see their menu. What did I get, what was my choice ? Well I'll tell you my fine family of Yelpers! I went with the Braised Beef sandwich on a baguette for the win folks. Just picture this perfectly made with love cuts of beef with all the flavors coming out of it, drizzled in a house-made whiz, seeping into that roll, with onions, mushrooms, on a Baguette. Stockyard, gentlemen, and ladies this is simply on point! My Yelp family, you will not be let down with this heavy hitter working numbers on your taste buds. What also made this epic sandwich reach its peak is the side of cut potatoes. A fried potato that has been dressed with sea salt, and herbs that has been cut up just waiting for you to enjoy with their own "Stock sauce". This is clearly the perfect combination, that one, two punch you're looking for. I mean, I suppose you can get a salad with your sammy, but why mess with perfection kids? You'll definitely miss their sign if you're not paying attention. That's my only gripe, but the rest is simply Uhh-MAZE-ing! So get in there and enjoy! I am Nando, and I approve this message.

Great food and great service! This has been a favorite of mine for over a year and it comes down to the perfect combination of food, service , and atmosphere. It has a small hole-in-the-wall atmosphere and delivers delicious food with a variety of sauces. Our server Matt was incredibly friendly and clearly has a passion for making great food! Would highly recommend.

It looks like there are some new faces at Stockyard. The chicken parm sandwich is the worst sandwich I had in a long time. The red sauce has absolutely no flavor and neither does the chicken parm. It should be stricken from the menu ASAP. Or reworked immediately to have some flavor, perhaps start with some salt and pepper. Also I placed my order at 6:30 and was given a 7:00 pickup time. I arrived at 7:00 and waited until 7:10 before asking if my order was ready. They told me to hang tight for 2 minutes. I ended up standing around until 7:30. They should have been honest and told me they didn't even start making my order yet. I don't mind tipping ahead of time but today I am very sad that I tipped before I ordered. The staff today was not deserving of my generous tip. (For being rude and lying to my face) The fried potatoes were good today per usual. A+ The staff and the chicken parm receive the score of F on their report card. Overall D experience. I won't ever order the chicken parm here ever again. Bet.

The $10 martinis on Friday were an excellent deal and definitely one of the highlights of the evening. A well-priced martini always sets a promising tone, and these did exactly that. The space itself is huge and very clean, with plenty of tables and seating, so it was easy for everyone to spread out, settle in, and enjoy themselves without feeling packed in. A major point in its favour is the setup for watching sports. They have a massive wall of TV screens, plus more TVs throughout the space, which made it very easy to keep up with multiple games at once. No awkward craning for a view, no fighting for the one good seat, just a very solid setup for a group outing. Overall, it was a fun experience and very much in line with the good times we have had at other City Tap locations in DC. A lively, well-run spot for drinks and groups, and one we would happily return to.
