My other favorite is getting whatever special they have going on - it almost never disappoints. This time around I got the Turkey Hoagie, it was delightful. Bummer that my fried sprouts were basically black and way too oily. I threw them out. The Mac was okay. Hoagie made up for it though! It's a cute shop best for takeout orders. I love me a great sandwich. A farm To table sandwich shop with reasonable prices? Sign me up! Stockyard is small in size but big on flavor and creativity. As a meat eating mammal, I cannot resist anything "whole pig". The whole pig banh mi features carrot, cabbage, cucumber, jalapeño, something called XO sauce, and of course that whole pig. This is far from the traditional banh mi, not so much due to the meat choice but the fact that the vegetables take a back seat. This is also a soft hoagie style bread instead of the crusty French bread that usually houses a banh mi. Still an enjoyable sandwich nonetheless. Came here on a Saturday night, not much of a crowd inside. There are a few tables, a restroom, and counter seating facing the storefront window. I ordered the Whole Pig Bahn Mi; they were out of the long bread for sandwiches, so I opted for a potato bun (vs a wrap). The Whole Pig Bahn Mi is absolutely packed with juicy pork and loaded with flavor. The crisp ends of the pork were my favorite. On the first bite into the sandwich, I knew this sandwich was different. It's really just so delicious. Was in the mood for a local sandwich spot and overall this was a fine choice. The menu is a bit small but had some interesting options. Went with the cheese steak & the banh mi. I'm not typically a huge fan of banh mi, but the reviews made it seem like this was the one to try. It was a good banh mi as far as banh mi sandwiches go- the pork was nice. Not an overwhelming amount of picked vegetables, which was ideal but the bread was a skosh soft for this one given the amount of sauce. The cheese steak was a much better option. The steak was delicious and the cheese was perfectly melty. The bread could easily have been too soggy and wasn't, which I appreciated. Also grabbed some of the fried potatoes, which were maybe the best part. Perfectly crispy with a nice dipping sauce; it was also a fairly hearty portion. The order was ready quickly and the one guy working there (chef, cashier, etc.) was nice. The whole hog sandwich was delish and pretty large too. Full-flavored with just the right amount of juiciness from the meats. The falafel banh mi was less successful primarily cuz the falafel balls do not contribute much moisture to the sandwich. Having eaten my share of falafel pitas, this one was a bit dry. Braised beef and the famous potatoes next time. Still, a neat place to grab a quick lunch or to take out a few sandwiches w/o breaking the bank. This review is for delivery -- which came super quickly (and hot). Really loved the chopped cheese sandwich. Honestly, with the ketchup, it was pretty near perfect. The only drawback, perhaps, was there felt like the bread to meat ratio was off a little (too much bread). But everything was delicious. Fries were really good too -- like potato skins. My chicken sandwich was cooked well, was flavorful, and the Stockyard sauce really added a good component to it all. However, I tried my fiancee's bahn mi sandwich and it tasted awful. The meat was very over-salted. The bahn mi sandwich (not pictured in this review) was disappointing especially since we were told it was their most popular item. Great spot for a quick bite, I've had a lot of the sandwiches on the menu and they're always yummy, if a little heavy. The one I would say avoid is the falafel banh mi - the falafel was mushy and the sandwich was a little dry and flavorless. I think a 4.0 - 4.5 is fair, but they get the 5 for doing the simplest thing for takeout/delivery order - not completely sealing up the fries!! It's so frustrating when places do this and the fries get soggy. Just picture this perfectly made with love cuts of beef with all the flavors coming out of it, drizzled in a house-made whiz, seeping into that roll, with onions, mushrooms, on a Baguette. Stockyard, gentlemen, and ladies this is simply on point! My Yelp family, you will not be let down with this heavy hitter working numbers on your taste buds. What also made this epic sandwich reach its peak is the side of cut potatoes. It looks like there are some new faces at Stockyard. The chicken parm sandwich is the worst sandwich I had in a long time. The red sauce has absolutely no flavor and neither does the chicken parm. It should be stricken from the menu ASAP. Or reworked immediately to have some flavor, perhaps start with some salt and pepper. Also I placed my order at 6:30 and was given a 7:00 pickup time. I arrived at 7:00 and waited until 7:10 before asking if my order was ready. They told me to hang tight for 2 minutes. I ended up standing around until 7:30. They should have been honest and told me they didn't even start making my order yet. I don't mind tipping ahead of time but today I am very sad that I tipped before I ordered. The staff today was not deserving of my generous tip. (For being rude and lying to my face) The fried potatoes were good today per usual. Great place! The coffee is a brand I've never heard of but was delicious. I wish I would've taken a picture. It didn't need cream or sugar. If you go in there you'll see there is a sign right on the cash register. Ignore the La Colombe sign on the door. That ain't it. I got the sweet soy wings and they were awesome. We put off Stockyard for a long time despite it being 100 ft from our door because our general rule is don't get take out for something we can make at home. But we were feeling lazy after a morning race and the About Us story of the owners was pretty great. Sadly, the food itself was just ok. We got the Fried Chicken Sando, the Salmon/Corn Fritters and Stockyard Fries. The Sando had some really yummy stuff going on, but the chicken itself was cooked... to... rubber. The good news is that if that chicken was better, the sandwich would have probably soared. The Fritters had no real standout flavors. They were kinda corn-y, kinda salmony, but didn't really bring anything to the table. We ended up tossing them after two bites. The Fries however were EXCELLENT. They're a unique combo of homefries with a great batter and fry. Really good. We were also gifted with a slice of delicious three-layer coconut cake. We're not dessert folk, but if you are, that's worth the trip itself. ---- So yeah: meh. Great sides and dessert but the basics were kinda wrecked. ---- As a side note, kitchens have slow periods and you can totally get bored waiting for customers. But at least put on the facade of "if you got time to lean, you got time to clean". You want to surf the internet and the kitchen is spotless (it was!)? Perfect. My friend who also tried the wrap with me wasn't happy cause he hates ketchup and for some reason they put the ketchup in the wrap as a base. Depends on the day can sometimes have a lil salty taste to it but it's not enough for me to say consistently salty. The cheese wiz on the brisket sandwich is AmAZING. Located on Spring Garden parking is pretty easy. It is also a short walk from the Subway station. The shop itself is clean and funky. There is one large communal table and then counter seating for 5-6 more patrons. Stockyard does a lot of take away or carry out business. We ordered the Stock Burger, the Bahn Mi and a salad with salmon on this visit. The burger was huge, juicy, a bit messy but delicious. The Bahn Mi, as others have written, is fantastic. My wife's salad was also very good and the salmon was better then she expected. Everything is made to order so it takes a few minutes, especially if they are busy. I have also had their breakfast sandwiches perviously and they are also equally delicious. Service was very friendly and helpful. We have lived within 5 minutes of Stockyard and finally tried it today! Wow, it was delicious. The whole pig sandwich was so flavorful . The pork had a great sweet savory flavor which played nicely with the more subtle vegetables. The only thing I would change was having it served on a more crusty bread but otherwise fantastic. Small business sandwich joint close to CCP and Masterman! Honestly, it was hard to find and you can miss it very easily because it looks like it's part of an apartment. Currently limiting people and practically can only pick up the food behind a table due to COVID. Otherwise, the sandwiches here are very good! Stockyard Sandwich Co. aims to do that through its "farm-to-takeout" concept, using premium ingredients and upscale culinary techniques to craft a memorable takeout experience. Pick-up was simple -- just a quick phone call once I arrived, and a worker had my bag ready to go. I opted for the Braised Beef Sandwich (Stockyard's sophisticated take on a cheesesteak) with a side of Fried Potatoes. The first bite of the sandwich was magnificent. With the rich onion-and-mushroom gravy, I almost was fooled to think I was eating a Sunday roast. Unfortunately, the good vibes did not last the entire meal. My once-crisp baguette quickly eventually descended into mushiness, and the richness that originally took me off guard felt single-note by the end. And I had only walked 2 blocks before enjoying my meal -- too much longer, and I'm afraid the sandwich would not have help up at all. The fries similarly started out incredible, The large hunks of russets were fried up extra-crispy, seasoned generously with salt and herbs, and perfectly balanced by "stock sauce," a sweet aioli. However, the small stock sauce was nowhere near enough for the large serving of fries; by the end, and without sauce, my fries were similarly single-note! Also, and admittedly minor, I wish each fry was slightly smaller; each chunk felt uncomfortably sized at 1.5x bites. At $17 total, Stockyard hits the wallet a little harder than the tastebuds. With good sandwiches galore throughout the city, I don't envision myself going out of my way for Stockyard all too often moving forward. read more

You know it was a mind-blowing sandwich when you're thinking about it in the middle of the night. I didn't have the chance to visit this place again due to COVID19, but I can't stop thinking about their sandwiches. I still remember the bite like yesterday. It was that good. I got the Whole Pig Banh Mi. They used a French baguette over a Vietnamese baguette, but that made the texture even more interesting. In fact, the French baguette made the initial bite crispy and then the meat would melt in your mouth. To be honest, I'm surprised a non-Asian joint got the flavors right. I love how they pack the sandwiches with visibly fresh ingredients, so you're getting your moneys worth and it fills your soul. This alternative to the Philly cheesesteak is a great choice. The onion rings and fried potatoes are great accompaniments to the sandwiches. Although I like brussel sprouts I didn't think I liked their version here and quite frankly ended up throwing most of it away. This was the only thing I've order here that I'd not recommend.
