I ordered a small side of mac and cheese and a small caesar salad and ended up quite disappointed. The mac and cheese was just straight up not good. It was oily and the sauce left a filmy taste in my mouth. The noodles didn't hold up well either. The caesar salad was the definition of "meh" and the only aspect of it that I actually enjoyed was the croutons. This little burger shop is nestled in the chaos of Reading Terminal Market, conveniently next to a small dining area. I ordered from here on a whim and decided to get the Philbert with some fries. Within a few minutes, my food was ready! The burger is tasty but because the patties are more of a smash burger style, the toppings go a longer way. A single patty is a bit small so I'd probably get a double if I was feeling hungry. The fries were very plentiful though and were perfectly crispy. They didn't automatically give me ketchup with my order, so I had to go up to the counter to get some packets. Overall, this was a satisfying quick bite to eat. read more

The employees are very nice and super thoughtful. Since it was my first time, they gave me a breakdown of the entire menu, which helped me decide on picking the Mac & Cheese Burger. I know it is a burger place and they offered a fantastic menu. Unfortunately, we really didn't have a lot of time and this place was busy. Actually it was like a mad house. We wanted something quick and easy. Their Mac and cheeses looked amazing and that really caught my eye and it was a no brainer for me. They had a large fresh looking selection. Lobster, Crab or regular Mac and cheese. We went for the regular. It was creamy, not overly cheesy. You know how sometimes mac and cheese can be heavy and it can sit in your stomach like a rock. Not this mac and cheese it really just hit the spot. It was so good that we tried to go back the next day. They are located in a very large food hall reading terminal market. I was surprised that they were closed on Sundays. The food hall was ridiculously busy. The next time we are in the area we are definitely coming back. Maybe I will order a burger too :-) read more

The fries: Ordered the loaded chicken bacon ranch fries & when they say loaded they mean it! Generous portion & enough to be an entree for 1-2 people depending on how hungry you are. Plenty of toppings, well seasoned, & the ranch sauce was a winner vs their homemade HB sauce (ketchup, mayo). Our only recommendation would be swap the HB sauce for BBQ sauce & more cheese sauce. You'd have to produce some pretty terrible food for me to bring it down. So luckily this company is producing delicious food at the same time! Got hamburger loaded waffle fries. I really enjoyed my first stop here for lunch during a conference, so I went back the next day. I got a bello burger both days as I don't eat meat so can't speak to their regular burgers, but this was excellent. The mushroom was breaded and crispy and the toppings were a delicious addition. Honestly could have eaten two burgers both times. First day I tried their regular mac. Overall really enjoyed, good level of creaminess, perhaps could have just used a little more in the way of seasoning. Second day I tried the Caesar salad. The dressing is really thick and wasn't my favorite but I did love the croutons. People working there were friendly. Line was long but moved relatively quickly. It's hard to find a spot to eat here if it's during a busy time so I took it back to the conference with me, but it is right next to a big area of tables if you want to try to sit down. One of the best Mac and cheese burgers I have ever had (it also had bacon on it), the fries were great, and my son loved his burger too. Came into Reading a terminal for an early dinner on a Thursday around 4pm. There was no line and I was able to order immediately. I ordered a single hunger burger ($6.99) and a side of plain fries. There were a few orders ahead of me, both in-person and online, and it took about 10-15 minutes for me to get my food. The burger and fries were delicious. The sauce on the burger was kind of similar to a big mac sauce. The fries were perfectly crispy and salted. It kind of tasted like a seasoned salt of some type. I loved the food. There's always a struggle for seating in the terminal, but the tables are close by. You just have to keep your eye out for one to open up. read more

Best Mac n cheese ever! Hunger Burger is inside the Reading Market near one of the seating areas. They have many types of Mac n cheese and a really good chicken sandwich! It isn't cheap, but nothing in the market is. Totally worth trying it out if you are in downtown Philly. They had some pretty amazing looking salads too but I didn't try any of it. Chicken sandwich and side of regular Mac n cheese was $17.00. You certainly pay for the experience of the market, but a really cool place! read more

I came here recently in a trip to Reading Terminal Market for lunch. To me it looked promising because of the line and it also looked like an new addition to the market. The menu was easy to navigate and I found myself ordering a chicken sandwich and a small lobster Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese options sit right in the window and all look very inviting. The sandwich was good. I'm not sure what the breading is but it is not your typical flour breading and seemed more like crumbs or some kind of meal. All in all the chicken of the sandwich was slightly crispy with good flavor. There was a sauce on the sandwich that made it kind of drippy but also gave it great flavor as well. As for the lobster mac and cheese it was just okay. Nothing special. It also was not that creamy and had started to separate a bit. The real shocker was that I thought 18 bucks was kind of expensive but I appreciate their mission so I was not that bummed. read more

Good burger spot in Reading Terminal. Enjoyed the food and like how they donate portions of their profits to fight hunger. The burger was comparable in taste/style with Five Guys but better. Ordered the Double Philbert burger with seasoned fries and a vanilla milkshake. The burger was fresh and delicious, and I liked seeing it be cooked in front of me. Patties are thin, so you don't get the full pink / medium rare effect that you would on a bigger burger. The fries had an Old Bay-type seasoning which I loved. The milkshake was thick but also delicious. Had a good overall experience here. Thought the burger and fries were reasonably priced. I didn't think that the milkshake was a great value despite tasting great due to the size and price. As always, seating can be tough to find in the terminal if you are looking to eat there. I would return and recommend if you are looking for a burger in the area, but there are so many other great places inside the terminal I would try / return to before I came back here read more
