    Go Chiefs!!!
    Frankie M.

More like a 2.5 star. But they were friendly so I bumped them up. Waiting for a plane was a but hungry. Not many options here and KC is known for their BBQ so i gave it a shot. I know its airport food but have some pride in your product. I have had better brisket in Jersey. And i make better ribs then these guys. Pretty disappointed with both the ribs and the brisket. I had mac and cheese for the side dish. Good thing they didn't mess that up. It was a creamy cheddar sauce simple but compared to the meats. This was probably the best thing there. Look elsewhere if your looking for some good BBQ. The place was nice inside and very open and the staff was very friendly.

4 stars. Because, come on, this is an airport BBQ place. This is not fine dining. You don't have a lot of options and it is decent BBQ for a non-native. This is not a quick grab-n-go. Come here if you have time. Don't come if you're in a hurry. I got the Burnt Tips, which is what they're known for. They were juicy and moist and tasty, served on a piece of toast, with a side of potato salad. Sauces are on the table if you need to doctor it up (I didn't.) NOTE: the guy next to me got the brisket and it was drier than dry. Don't get that.

What a great addition to the airport dining options. The pick your own table option is messy, lots of individual people taking up large tables, forcing groups to smash around small tables. The server team was obvious stretched thin, they were doing their best, but they had a lot of tables per person to try and cover. I got the burnt ends and some cheesey corn. The burnt ends were good, I'm glad someone realized we didn't have any sauce on our table, that addition helped make them a lot more flavorful. The cheesey corn was my favorite part of the meal, it was delicious! Great location, good service, good food.

Flight delays prompted a stop in at Stockyards in the KC airport. I was really looking foreword to trying some bbq, but the ribs fell flat. Only two were fall off the bone... nevertheless, you get a good amount for what you pay. Lots of seating, tvs to watch sports games, and an overall laidback spot if you're between flights.

If you love KC bbq as much as I do this is a great stop while visiting KC airport. I ordered burnt ends. The ends were served in a slice of bread with a choice of fries, Mac n cheese, beans, or potato salad. I went for fries that came tossed in dry rub. The drink options were slim, I would have enjoyed a lemonade or sweet tea but they don't have either option. Service was good and my Food came in a good amount of time.

Decent BBQ at the airport. The burnt ends and fries were good and the sauce was tasty. Service was quick and fast. Dining area was clean as well.

A sad attempt at burn ends and brisket..for over 30 bucks with the "burnt end" upcharge..a total rip off!

I thought I would try Stockyard BBQ since it's in the new airport. drinks were excellent Bakes beans were good The rest of the meal was waaaaay overpriced and the portions were extremely small. I ordered the BBQ plate with burnt end add on. They were out of rips unfortunately so I got brisket in addition to burnt ends. To say that what I received on my tray was absolute disappointment! I wouldn't even call these burnt in they are bland chunks of meat. I will never return to this place and I hope the manangement actually reads these posts and attempts to do a better job. I feel like this place preys on travelers with "Kansas BBQ" and it is nothing like what is in the city. ****Update regarding the customer feedback from Mackenzie S in the review below bashing me...apparently this person was sitting beside me at the restaurant and admitted to never even trying the food at this restaurant in the review below. I provided a fair and honest report of my experience and I don't hesitate to provide 5 starts reviews...see my history of restaurants I have visited and reviews on yelp. In regards to service, my bar tender was great and I had zero complaints and I tipped him well. I still stand by my quality and portion comments, see my photos they speak for themselves and open to judgement from other prospective customers. As a customer myself I should not need to ask for more food, I felt that for $30 for a barbecue plate that was advertised I should have received more portions that what was presented and also received better quality food. Period,

Being this was my first time here it was a pleasant experience. We received fast and courteous service, a very friendly young lady who gave us suggestions for faster service. The meal once it arrived was very tasty. If the restaurant was out of the airport I might frequent it more frequently.

Burnt Ends w/ awesome mac-n- cheese
    L L.

Service was great. Their Burnt Ends were excellent and the mac-n-cheese was awesome! It was probably the best mac-n-cheese that I ever ate anywhere. One star was deducted for the dry Beef Brisket, but their potato salad was delicious.

Had a layover at the airport on our way to D.C. and ate lunch at Stockyards. It was clean and you can sit where you want. We got the Burnt ends plate that came with a side (we chose the corn with a kick). It was $22, a little pricy but you are at the mercy of the airport. The other item we got was called The Beckett and it was $18. We both preferred the Beckett over the burnt ends. We would get it again. I liked the corn better than my husband did and I don't like spicy so the "kick" was pieces of jalapeño but it barely had a "kick". I really liked the BBQ sauce. If you like sweet BBQ sauce you will like it. They also have a spicy sauce by it also had just a "kick" of spice. I could taste it but he could not. The service was really good and quick. It was not busy at the airport and that was nice.

No, this is more of a sit-yourself-down kind of place, instead of being a make-your-way-to-the-bar-for-yet-another-drink kind of place. But they serve up some Joe's Kansas City BBQ, so you know they've got a reason to pull you in. Nothing says Kansas City quite like smoked meats & fabulous sauces, so get comfy & sample a Z-Man. There is plenty else on the menu, but if you're vegan or vegan-ish, then good luck or maybe have a cheat day. The BBQ is fantastic and Ice House has added their own bar & grille twists, so you have options beyond smoked meats. Seating is pretty good, and with both a wraparound bar and table service, there are plenty of options. As is the norm these days, there are screens in all directions, so you just don't miss a single moment of sportsball if that's your jam. P&L is a jammed up place when events are happening, so if you can find yourself a spot to sit and enjoy, then that's a win. County Road offers that and more, and it's only real knock is the service levels, which can be slow at busy times. But hey, if you have a seat and maybe a drink, then wait just a few extra minutes for servers to plow their way through the bar crowd. Definitely worth it for the BBQ alone.

The overall vibe is pretty cool, and I really liked the lighting inside--it gives the place a nice atmosphere. I ordered the BRGR burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The burger itself was pretty good, and the sweet potato fries were fantastic. They came out hot and had great flavor, easily the highlight of the meal. The server was very good and nice. She noticed that we were getting low on waters fast and just gave us the pitcher which was super thoughtful. That being said, the burger is pretty expensive, and they don't include fries with it. You have to pay an extra $5-6 for a side, which definitely adds up and feels a bit steep for what you get. Overall, it's still a good place with solid food and a cool vibe, but the pricing does affect the overall rating.

The wife order gumbo, 6oz filet oscar, and ooey gooey cake. The big girl ordered caesar salad, 12 oz kansas strip and ooey gooey cake. Appetizer was the sushi on fried rice... these little things were amazing. Every time I see the on a menu, I have to order them. Best single bite of food we had. My filet came our way overcooked and the staff recognized that and corrected that mistake promptly. The second attempt was cooked perfectly. Asparagus and mashed potatoes were very tasty. 12 oz Kansas strip was dominated by my daughter! Caesar salad was probably one of the best we have had in a while! It was perfect. Lobster bisque had a depth of flavor that was unreal. So creamy and hearty. My wife said the gumbo was very good and that it had a slow burn on the back end as any true gumbo has that little kick of spice. Carrot cake was so moist and flavorful, but that ooey gooey cake was spectacular! The butter flavor was there in full force! Over all great experience.

If memory serves me correctly this used to be an old berbiglia spot. Just thinking about those stores takes me back to my early 20s and thinking about how much KC has changed in a decade. At any rate, I pulled over, dodged some rain, and came inside. Now, anyone who remembers Berbiglias in KC might remember them as I do - kind of basic, a bit dirty, and the kind of place that you just kind of tolerated. I mean, I was in my twenties so I didn't know liquor stores could be nice and have variety, but now I do, and boy was I glad when I walked in the doors and found out that this newly redone Plaza Liquor is NICE. Not only is the interior nice, the folks working are super friendly, and they have an incredible selection.
