Nermin Hadzihasanovic (sales consultant) is AWESOME!!! I've been shopping for an EOS since May. I've been to dealers in Greensburg, PA (where I'm from) and all over the DC/NOVA area. Nermin by far was the most professional and most friendly. He went 100% out of his way to work with me to get the amazing deal I wanted and as of last night I am driving a super hot 2013 EOS because of Nermin and the hard work he did for me. I met with sales reps from other local dealerships and even went on test rides with them, but Nermin was super nice and positive in all of his emails and calls to me. I wanted an EOS and was getting one no matter what, but Nermin made me want to buy it from Stohlman -- which was out of my way.... I actually live 1 mile from another VW dealer, but I will definitely be having mine serviced and buying my next one from Nermin! I did not have a trade-in so Nermin drove to pick me up and bring me to the dealership so that I didn't have to get a taxi or bother a friend during DC rush-hour. The deal is done and he no longer needed to sell me anything, but still took the time to call me today just to see how I am enjoying the EOS and if I had any questions about it etc... Update. I wrote about my bad experience couple of weeks ago. The last communication I had with the dealer is I went there and one of their manager from finance told me that I can not refinance my car before 120 days because the finance company (in my case Capital One) will fine me a hefty amount. So they denied me to help with the cars 10 days pay off letter I need for refinance. So Last week I took my chances and called the Capital One Auto Loan service center. The representative gave me the 10 days pay off letter in minutes no question asked ( Hats off to Cap One). I just had to pay $90 extra for interest as per diem rate was only $3.44 per day. But NO FINE. And yesterday I just completed the signing my refinance. (11.92% APR to 5.49% APR). So now my understanding is that the dealers finance manager LIED STRAIGHT ON MY FACE. And that was the direct reaction of my honest review what I have provided in the survey sent to me by VW. And also I think they lied to me because may be they were going to lose some commission if I cancel the finance before 4 months. Also initially when I bought the car the guy who signed the papers was pissed off because he was losing some commission from the sale as I rejected $8000 worth of extended warranty and servicing from them for next 6 years. This is a NASTY business they are doing to rob money out of people. And also I didn't get any help from them for anything. They are not only Rude and unprofessional. They are dishonest. I am very very pissed right now and I will try to find some official channel to complain about this dishonesty. read more

John the used car manager promised our car would be ready which we purchased. I contacted him the day before we came to pick it up and asked him is it ready. He said yes. We arrived at 1:30 from North Carolina. Not only was our car not ready but it was not on the property. Each time I asked john he had a different story. He is obviously lying. We wish we never felt with this dealer. They do not do what they promise and seem to think that repetitive lying is the best way to deal with customers. Service took care of me and did not charge me for unnecessary work. Very good customer service, indeed. I went into service as my VW was making a weird sound from under the hood. The Service Writer (David) set my car up and one of the techs did what he could to identify the issue. I received personal attention (including a test drive) from the Service Foreman, John, and we were not able to duplicate the sound. No stress, no unnecessary charges, prompt service. If all dealers worked like this, people would be more likely to bring their cars there rather to independent shops. read more

Javan recently helped us pull the trigger on a VW. We were only leasing a small SUV, but I was surprised and pleased with how well we were treated -- always greeted with a smile and a handshake, offered water, etc. and I never felt rushed or pressured to make a deal. We didn't know much about the features in the car we wanted, and he was really great about walking us through the different trim levels and pointing out functions during our test drive. Even after we had made a deal and signed all of our papers, Javan came out in a rainstorm to sit in the car and walk us through the radio functions and personal settings! If you make a sales appointment here, do request him! The VW showroom is also pretty well laid out and pleasant to be in as far as car dealerships go. No blasting rock music, no tacky balloons, just a calm, clean design and a quiet atmosphere. I usually dread car shopping, but my visits to VW were pretty painless! read more

I will never deal with this place again despite buying my car here. I called with basic service questions because the check engine light had started flashing on my less than 6 month old Tiguan. The 2 people I spoke to in the service department were incredibly rude and dismissive and one of them actually hung up on me while I was asking questions. They only do vehicle pickup within a 7mi radius. So instead of giving up a day of work and giving business to people who clearly don't want it, I called the dealer in Alexandria for service who was so kind and polite and does a 15mi pickup zone. read more

Had a great experience at this dealership! I just had moved to VA from a state where we have no snow and harsh winters. I stopped by to ask about new tires. They checked my tires and said I definitely need winter ones. A nice gentleman suggested me what I should get, explained features of different brands and was truly helpful on what to get. In the meantime, service for free checked the oil, and other fluid levels, air pressure and replenished my washing fluid. I found exact same same tires at Sam's Club for a lower price. I went back to VW and they agreed to price match. I had my tired replaced the same day. I dropped the car in the morning. I received a shuttle to work and after my car was ready, shuttle picked me up as well. Great place, great customer service. Smooth and professional. I definitely recommend! read more

If you are interested in a VW, wait for sign and drive events (happen a couple times a year) 4. Head straight to Scott Maynard at Stohlman VW and let him know what you need. 5. Drive home in your new car Every business is interested in making money, but Scott will advocate for you and earn your business by getting you the best deal possible from the sales managers. He took all the work out of the process. We got a crazy good deal on our 2014 VW Touareg. No hassle turning in our 2012 VW Passat (also from Stohlman). I purchased a Certified Pre Owned VW Tiguan from Stohlman, my third purchase from this dealer. The car was fine until components in the steering column failed causing abut $1000 in damage. I took it to a dealer in the city where I live now and was told the parts installed in the steering column were after market. Stohlman denied installing them at all until presented with documentation from the repairing dealer that they had replaced the parts prior to selling the car to me as a CPO. Once presented with documentation that they had, in fact, installed the parts, they then said it must have happened after the sale. It did not occur after the sale. I was sold a CPO by the dealer when they had installed after market parts. Look on the BBB site. Their grade at last check was a D-. Not sure what happened to the place over the years between my purchased. They used to be efficient and trustworthy. Now.....look elsewhere. read more

Stohlman is by far, the best VW dealership that I have ever worked with. My wife and I have a 2012 VW GTi, and were having a big problem where the car would not re-start while hot (i.e. filling up for gas on a road trip). Over the holidays, we took a trip down to FL and had the car strand us 4 times. Over a one week period, the car saw three different dealers across the US and none of them could diagnose the issue. I contacted Stohlman on my return, and lined up an appointment with Jack. I arrived on time, and was quickly processed and added into the system. Jack and I talked for a few minutes, and not only did he listen to the symptoms of the issue I was having, he was extremely knowledgable about what the issue could be. They gave me a loaner, and I was on my way. John, the shop foreman, and his team made quick work of the repair, and Jack kept me up to date on everything that was happening with the car. At any rate, most dealerships are not well known for their level of service, but Stohlman completely changes this. Not only will this be the only dealership I visit for my service needs now that I'm out of warranty, but it will very likely be the place I buy my next car when the time comes. Serviced my 06 VW here, bought my 2017 VW here, recently serviced it here. Been here a few times and its usually typical of dealers. Weak customer service, impatient when communicating with them, lots of waiting. When I purchased the 2017 VW, the dealership really wanted to rush the sale, really wanted me to sign now now now. Pretty normal, I took my time and did find something I liked. As soon as I signed, 4, FOUR, hour wait until we got the car. They didn't care anymore. I get it, it takes a while sometimes, tell us that and we will go get food or something. Most recent service I dropped off for an oil change and waited 30 min for the shuttle home, shuttle guy was awesome. I got a call a few hours later saying it was complete. An hour after that call I went to pick up my car, and it hadn't been through the wash. Guy said 5 min. 35 min later he said it was drying. 15 min later I asked a different person and he said it was 2nd in line to be washed.... So the first person lied to me? I had to wait 1 hr before getting my car, and I asked for it immediately so it wasn't washed. Waiting 1 hr+ from 3:15-4:15 for a car wash? They couldn't pay me to do that again. Just communicate, don't under estimate the time! My cars not broken? I guess that's good. Prices are fine... Just normal. This is not a quality dealer, its just a dealer. read more

I am in the market for a new car and decided to visit this dealership. The sales person seemed nice and assisted with a test drive, though he was distracted on the phone. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, stuck with him and then asked for pricing information. We exchanged contact information and heard nothing back from the sales person. The sales person agreed to send me pricing details via email and I received no communications. I left two messages 1-2 weeks apart and still nothing. Now after 3 weeks have past by I feel compelled to write this review. Apparently either the sales person and/or the dealership don't need customers. Sad part is that the vehicle would have worked and the service department is great. If management is reading this you should always call an interested customer that is actively buying that day. read more

My wife and I had a great experience with this dealership throughout the entire process. We had a budget and criteria in mind for the VW Tiguan we were aiming for. It had to have a panaromic sunroof, heated seats, white interior and exterior and low mileage. It was just hard to find such a Tiguan within our budget range, if we were also to consider taxes and fees. We liked one a lot after we test drove it, everything was perfect expect the exterior color wasn't white. We looked everywhere, but we ended up coming back to this dealership because they had a white one we didn't know they had. Charles Haddon was our primary contact there. I tried Stohlman VW to service my VW Beetle because I had horrid experience at Lindsay and no one answers the phone at the Fairfax VW. I had an engine noise that I was trying to diagnose. I will say I appreciate Sam in being honest and steering me to the right service for my car (diagnostic) but when they reported the issue was the known timing chain that went through the courts for a class action settlement resulting in VW offering extended warranties as the result, I was sent through the ringer for not meeting "Stohlmans" requirements to qualify for the extended warranty. I have a copy of the settlement and they completely tried to disqualify me stating I had to have met all service milestones not related to the timing chain of which Is not what the court order states. After fighting with the VW Customer Service they finally extended the warranty to me, but at this point- no one deserves to have the experienced that I have with VW at not just the Stohlman, but Fairfax and Lindsay Service centers. I have sold my car and will never pay a penny to VW again. read more

We just purchased a certified pre-owned Jetta last night so it's too early to review the car (I reserve the right to update!). But our buying experience was a good one. Our salesman was Nora Sokhon, who we really came to like during the long process. The process was only long due to us. We started at Stohlman so we weren't sure it was a great deal. We spent a few days test driving many Jettas at a few other dealerships and none of them could come close to the deal we got at Stohlman. Word of advice - KNOW your Jettas! I learned so much through the process and I'm glad I test drove base S, and SE and an SEL (big differences). Nora checked in with us while we looked elsewhere but never made us feel pressured in the least. They came down a little, we came up a little. It all worked out. My wife currently owns a Golf R and wanted to upgrade to the soon to be release 2015 Golf R with Automatic. So we stopped by Stolmans Volkswagon at Tysons corner to see what we might expect for trade in value were we to use their dealership for our purchase of a new Golf R Limited w/ performance package as we had signed up for the 1st 500 limited run. So when we entered their show room and asked to see a salesman for our inquiry the one we got (I won't mention him by name) was an absolute rude, condescending and annoyed jackass. His eyes literally rolled when we asked about a trade in value for the Golf R we had. He huffed off to get the carfax and returned and shoved (yeah, seriously) shoved the car fax report in my face and exclaimed we were the third owners, GASP! Yes, apparently carfax gets it wrong from time to time it went from a Dealer, to the Dealer we purchased it from and then to us. Wow a real deal killer huh! So he goes on to explain he'd only be able to offer us 17K for our 2012 Golf R fully loaded and with 3m Window tint and a mere 12,000 miles. Anyway, my wife and I were treated so rudely, and with such outright contempt we were frankly, just rather shocked. We likewise were just so offended by the treatment we received at Stolman I further felt compelled and placed a call that evening and was directed to leave a message about my experience with the manager. I left a message and was never even contacted regarding my experience. So if you want a terrible car buying experience I highly recommend Stolman Volkswagon. They'll have no compunction nor problem on treating you like a POS second class citizen as it is apparently exactly akin to their service and modus operandi and just the way they treat all their customers from other reviews I've read. I only wish I could have (should have) read them earlier. . Made a call to Lindsey Volkswagon the next day, and got a quote of 25k+ no problem. Very professional, kind and attentive to our questions. So we are now having our Golf R delivered there instead of Stolman. I still can't believe Stolman just let a cash buyer walk out of their dealership feeling like we were inconveniently bothering them while they all sat on their duffs doing nothing. read more

I bought a VW Jetta hybrid last month and had to get the 40k service performed. The shop I took it to did the easy stuff, but wasn't able to replace the transmission fluid because they did not have the specialty parts. I called around (including to some VW specialist mechanics) and no one was able to do this exchange. Other area dealers quoted almost $500 for this one service. When Stohlman Volkswagen quoted me $350 for replacement of the DSG fluid, I was pleasantly surprised. I also felt reassured because the person I spoke to was obviously very knowledgeable. Although he admitted he had not yet done this procedure, he clearly knew what he was talking about. So I was happy to bring the vehicle in to them for service. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I came for pickup. The bill was even LESS than quoted ($240). The service department informed me that the transmission required less fluid than they had predicted, so the bill was less. Overall, a very good experience! read more

I recently leased a VW Passat from Stohlman VW in Tysons Corner. I was in a tight spot and needed to make a good deal - and quickly. I found that Stohlman has a great atmosphere for car buying. All the staff were friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. I had the good fortune to work with Javan Jackson on my lease. He explained all the details on the car, got what I was looking for all lined up and worked with my schedule. I couldn't be happier with the whole process. I would not recommend this dealership at all. I was quoted nearly $5,000 over MSRP for a car, and was offered $5,000 less than what my car is worth. The salesman laughed off when I showed him how much overpriced the car was compared to other dealerships in the area. The manager would not even speak to me about why I got such a bad offer. I just walked out and got a car from a different dealership that same day. I got the value of what my car was worth and a fair price on a new lease. The payments would have been around $630 for a new car at this dealership, but at other dealership I got my payments at $350. What does that tell you about the shady business that goes on here? read more

I experienced similar issues with others rating this dealership with one star (terrible). And as a current TDI owner, I expected superior and honest treatment in order to attempt to keep me as a VW customer after egregious corporate fraud. I have three issues: 1. I was not made aware of imminent forthcoming TDI incentives by the sales staff, despite asking that specific question. I therefor purchased a new VW just prior to the November dealer incentives announcement. Had I been told, I would have merely waited a couple days to make my purchase of a car I had already decided I wanted, and without the continued animosity towards VW I already possess. 2. As with other upset reviewers, I was not told that the maintenance plans offered in my previous 2 VW purchases were no longer included in the vehicle purchase, and were now a la carte offerings at an escalated price. Needless to say, I declined and expressed my disgust at this not being mentioned during the negotiation. I would have offered less as a result. The paperwork guy (Peter) brushed aside my comment of displeasure. 3. Despite my ability to put cash on the table that day to purchase the car outright, I was told I had to use VW financing in order to get the out the door price we negotiated. Then, both the paperwork guy (Peter) and my salesperson Steven, flat out lied to me by saying I had to wait to make three payments before paying off the loan in its entirety. Knowing this to be false, based on my conversations with another VW dealership, I knew the real reason for them telling me this was so that VW didn't lose approximately $1000 in admin costs. However, I called CapitalOne as soon as I got my paperwork, and paid off the loan in its entirety right there on the phone, with no early payoff penalty. I really hope VW does end up eating $1000 in admin costs; serves them right. The sad fact is that I like my VW cars, but I hate the company and their dealerships. My current VW will certainly be my last. My whole reason for sticking with VW, despite the TDI fraud, was that I sincerely wanted to believe they wanted to make amends, and would deal with integrity and humility. This was not my experience at Stohlman, and I warn any other prospective customers, especially current TDI owners considering another TDI purchase, to walk through those doors at their own peril. read more

The service department at VW is a mess and will try to get any money out of you that they possibly can. I came in to have a couple bolts changed on my tires - $32 for the set of them. While they were at it, they did a courtesy check for service and found that nearly $2000 of work had to be done to my car before I could drive it across the country in a couple weeks. There was a transmission leak and they also claimed that my brake pads were wearing too thin to drive and it would cost $1300 to replace them. I then went to the local auto mechanic who my family has been using for 25 years. He called me the next day and said my car didn't even have brake pads! To think that Volkswagen would even think about charging me $1300 for something that does not exist on my car is beyond outrageous. I gave two stars instead of one because the service representatives are nice people and want to help - despite the outrageous prices they send your way. Do your research people - it is well worth the effort and will save you a lot of money in the long run. read more

I interacted with sales associate Marcello and ultimately found him to be hapless; also, interacted with sales manager, Kelvin, and found him to simply be untruthful. Found a great deal on a used Subaru Forester listed on website as certified (the bait), and affirmed by Marcello, only to find that, upon committing to purchasing online, it was suddenly no longer certified (the switch). Kelvin--"well, we have a disclaimer that our website may not always have accurate information". Kelvin was not helpful and certainly made sure you knew he was the smartest person in the room.
